"Hmmm? Never ending cycle?"
THE KING laughed at the cluelessness of the asker
[“Yes, a never ending cycle. Again, again, again…”]

Would like to ask, does F.I.L.S.S monitor our accounts?
She used to be in charge of monitoring accounts until an interesting incident took place where it appears she repeatedly tried to take down mine. It was quite sad to see her like that, I hope she recovered from that malfunction.

Alaska is going to unceremoniously give him an actual fucking gun, a pistol, she doesn't trust him with anyone more dangerous than that after all. Especially since she doesn't know if he knows how to use a gun or not. (For the give your muse an item ask meme
Give my muse an item
Tumblr media
We've given the child an actual fucking gun
---- Rotating the weapon in his hand, he looks at it curiously with a little bit of confusion as to what it is. A pistol was drastically different in appearance to a bowgun, for one. Despite the fact a select few bowguns would look a lot like a rifle to those outside of his world, he's only known those to just be aesthetically different.
But being a gunner already did eventually clue him in to the trigger mechanism and he pieces that much together. Pointing it away from Alaska and anything else that he can potentially harm, he pulls the trigger- but of course, and hopefully, it's unloaded.
Tumblr media
"Ah- th..thank you?"
Despite his verbally unsure tone, he is grateful for the... weird, tiny weapon of his main use. Nobody tell the higher ups in the commission about this.

« In a way it's reassuring to see that I'm not completely alone here. » (From the fear and hunger sentence starter ask meme, if you are still accepting stuff from it
(Genuinely don't even remember that meme but I'll go for it)
"It's just a delayed pickup; we're trained for this." Pessimism didn't really fit the mission mindset; practically speaking, Carolina tended to funnel fear into frustration, even anger; it gave her the energy to push through it, but also tended to give her tunnel vision. Pros and cons. Seeing the odds stacking up against them while their extraction was delayed again and again... Well. Their odds weren't good, but she wasn't about to bemoan the fact; it's not how her mother would have wanted her to face the end, she liked to think - or, at least, the version of the woman in her mind. "Keep pressure on it. Our closest trackers are still clear."

🤫 My muse tries to hide an injury from your muse (From injuries, old and new ask meme
It didn't take a genius to read a red flag on a scan report from the healing unit, though Delta liked to imagine he was close enough to that status anyway. He ran those scans regularly; knowing the status of other freelancers in the area was critical to properly calculate the odds of success for various actions. As it so happened, though, Delta's suggestion that perhaps Alaska needed to take a back-seat to the next phase of the mission was met with what he'd come to consider a fairly standard degree of Freelancer Stubborness(TM). Unfortunately, the push-back was both a natural part of his predictive calculations and an unnecessary time loss that he found frustrating - though he would never admit it aloud. "Agent Alaska, in order to avoid further injury and possible mission failure, I must stress the importance of providing a back-seat role for the rest of this mission." Pride means nothing if you're dead - though Delta wasn't the kind to waste words on platitudes. "This mission is on average 27.9% more likely to succeed with you providing cover fire and another Agent charging the door to breach the front line of the enemy defense, and 58.3% less likely to result in friendly casualties - yourself included."

The boy listens with full interest, sparkles in his eyes
---- It was a fascinating tale for one, you'd have to forgive him for being so invested in hearing of a monster he's never seen. He hums, bringing a hand up thoughtfully. A vampiric looking dragon... qurio that drains the life from other creatures for its own benefit... a symbiotic relationship? There were a few of those out in the world, but it wasn't something he's ever thought of a whole lot
"Are the qurio parasites?" A fair enough question; just to satiate his curiosity and confirm his thoughts. "Where'd they come from?"
It made him wonder if the guild records had anything on this monster. Maybe one of the other researchers would know something, he'll have to ask once he has time
sonorous-eisfyl:
"A Malzeno?" ---- He parrots, tilting his head. While it was possible he's heard the name, it was either extremely long ago when he was much smaller or a fake feeling of familiarity. He's never seen one (yet) either, so now he was interested
Tumblr media
"What's the monster like? It seems pretty powerful if it hurt you like that," Frosting does note all the other scarring as well. It was a pretty normal sight, hunters and riders got themselves into some pretty tough situations a lot of the time. Getting bitten or wounded by giant wyverns on a semi consistent basis would gather you a lot of those. He's gathered quite the amount of scarring too, if the one hidden by his hair was anything. He's fully intent on listening to any further detail on such a story- convincing a monster to join with you somehow was something he never quite thought he could ever do after all. He didn't really have that power, so being surrounded by people who seemingly do makes him wonder a lot about it
"yea, Malzeno, you don't know about it?" Alaska tilted her head right back at him. She didn't even really know why she had asked, the head tilt and the parroting already told her all she needed to know. "Normal Malzeno is a a vampiric looking dragon kinda, it uses a monster known as Qurio to drain the life form of enemies and prey. Primordial Malzeno on the other hand hates the Qurio and will kill them on sight, both are elder dragons, they are found in a distant kingdom, don't know the name of it though but I stayed there a few years, managed to meet Primoridal Malzeno during my stay and kinda made it my mission to try and show myself worthy of it." Alaska chuckled a little bit awkwardly. "I for the life of me couldn't tell you my motives for doing so however."

Violet had been looking for a decent challenge, one that could test his strength and teach him the way to becoming a true warrior, one powerful enough to contest the great Beast. When he had heard of a local UNSC Platoon stationed at a Charon Industry power plant (whatever that was), he knew he’d found a worthy contender. At least… he had thought…
“DO YOU NOT TRAIN?! HAVE YOU NO SOLDIER WORTHY OF BATTLE?!!” He yelled, blasting his way through many unfortunate UNSC troopers. He pummeled and kicked past crowd after crowd, followed closely the waves of radioactive green plasma exploding through the endless swarm of marines as he lifted his cannon on his shoulders.
“What of your Captain? Commander? YOUR LEADER! Surely they will give me the challenge I CRAVE!” His voice booming out with vigor as he looked around, slightly disappointed at the lack of skill amongst the fallen soldiers around him. Of course, what he did not know, is that this particular Captain, was a high level assassination target of Project Freelancer. Said captain was carrying top secret information on the treatment and misuse of not just the Alpha AI, but the implementation of the Sim Soldiers like him.

For muses who can't open up
// @specialagentalaska sent:
"Yeah, I don't like talking feelings either. Wanna go break something instead?"
Tumblr media
It was pretty rare to see the hunter in a bad mood
---- For the most part, Frosting was generally as sweet and nice as his namesake. But today seemed to be different. He was really only grumpy because the stress of recent endeavours was finally taking its toll, and was not sleeping due to said stress. A vicious cycle, really. Raging Brachydios was bad enough, but getting that followed up by a Furious Rajang spotting and then an Alatreon? It was a lot. And his newly collected scars and injuries didn't help to his mood either.
Getting approached by an elder dragon was the last thing that he expected in his self imposed "go out for a walk or fight something and feel better" hour
Overall the walk did in fact make him less stressed to at least socialise a little, but the Malzeno approaching was confusing enough to snap him out of the rut mostly.
"What? I-- I don't... I don't know...?"
. . . What was there even to break here was the real question

🔎 Your muse to ask my muse about a scar they've not seen before (Ask meme from scars and their stories prompt
Scars and their stories
Tumblr media
Well, technically, he hadn't seen a lot of her scars yet
Tumblr media
---- But he couldn't help but be curious anyway. Frosting hasn't really known Alaska for very long, yet somehow he's already forgotten how they've become acquainted. Quietly, he watches. Unintentionally staring at a random scar on her person lost in his own thoughts before he finally snaps out of his zoning out.
Should he even ask? It might be rude of him to, seeing as they barely know each other. Yet he considers it, twindling his thumbs before finally speaking.
"If... you don't mind me asking, how'd you, um, get that?"

Continued from Here The question got her to look down at the scar in question, a long claw mark across her shoulders which by now was a couple of years old. "This scar? I got it from Malzeno, or more well, the primordial Malzeno. As the last thing I had to do to prove myself worthy of him joining me, I had to fight him. I actually have quite a lot of nasty scars from the fight." Alaska gestured to a few of the scars on her body, one of them being a stab wound from something large. Speaking of scars, she was covered in them, from head to toe, fresh and old scars from many different monsters, hell even from human made weapons.
