Zita, can Spartan-IVs get sick? Like I know it's very unlike for an II or III but since the IVs got their augmentations later, they would still be susceptible to getting the common cold?

Spartan augs lore is weird.

On the one hand there is nothing in the text that described the augmentation to suggest that IIs and IIIs should heal faster than normal. BUT! Halo novels over the last 10 years seem to have decided that they do somehow so that means it's anybody's ball game and the only explanation is continued maintenance/adjustments to their bodies, which falls in line with what S-IVs are supposed to have.

ANYWAY. This was about reliability of the augmentation lists on the wiki (because Halo does whatever it wants and invents things I guess) and not a denial of the possibility of them being sick.

I don't remember any onscreen canon of a Spartan with a cold so we don't have a hard yes or no. I think it's your city and you can do literally whatever you want. If you want to follow the feel of lore about Spartans, it would be fitting to throw in a line about them getting over an illness much faster than typical.

...And if you want me to totally bullshit something I think is interesting (this is free real estate to use or ignore), I'd say IIs and IIIs are more likely to have a normal cold than a IV because the IVs have insane shit like "my digestive system could get nutritional value from eating wood" going on. I think a IV is more likely to be feeling under the weather due to periodic maintenance to their augmentations, because they have sooooo much more invasive cybernetic weird shit going on and they need regular checks and fiddling. (Especially when they're brand new, we have a canonical reference to new IVs having restricted food options and it's probably because of what's been done to their digestive system?)
