Ged's a wizard he's bisexual and he loves his boat so much. He's sailed around the world on his beloved little boat and learned everything about sailing even though he could've just used magic because it brought him joy. I just like him a lot. Also he talks to dragons

Jonny is an immortal (die and come back, regenerative immortality) pirate who commandeered the Aurora for himself and the woman who made him immortal. She proceeded to make several other people immortal, who all joined the crew, until they threw her out the airlock (several times. She left of her own free will as a result of this). Jonny declared that, as the original member, he was captain now. Everyone decided to ignore him. He introduces himself as ""your humble captain"" every performance, and every performance Tim (another crew member) and usually the entire audience yells "first mate!" He once said "so she came to the closest thing we have to a captain: myself" only for it to cut to the situation in question to show that he had no control at all. Even the starship doesn't see him as the captain (she's sentient. Also a lesbian! I love her). Captain struggles aside, he's so fun. He once committed every single crime on a planet (except the sex crimes). He had an arrest warrant out with the reason "just arrest the fucker". He has a whole post-patricide harmonica solo. He's fantastic

I feel like for every Earthsea book I read I love Sparrowhawk even more. I really like how it's described that he always speaks calmly and with a sweet tone. And he's like a father figure for Arren, always taking care of him and encouriging him to believe in himself, showing him that he's important. And he doesn't get mad when he does something wrong. He did a really similar thing for Tenar too. Oh, and I also really love how he laughs when something someone says reminds him of his past but doesn't give any explanation. Just little inside jokes he has with himself. He feels really human and genuinly kind, and that makes me very, very happy.

I recently read A wizard from Earthsea and I really liked it!!

I was introduced to this story more than a year ago through the film by Goro Miyazaki, Tales from Earthsea (which I know isn't a really good adaptation of the story, but I still really liked it) because, in case you didn't know, I'm a huge Studio Ghibli fan, but I hadn't been able to actually read the books until now, and wow, it was so cool!

I must say I didn't really like Ged at the begining. He knew he was intelligent and powerfull and usually made poor decisions because he thought he could do anything he wanted, but he was just really impatient and that made me a bit angry (in that sense he kinda reminded me of Kvothe from The name of the Wind ) but he was just a child anting as children do. He did get a lot of character development after facing the consequences of his own actions, and I quickly started to love him. I also got to know how he got the skar he already had as an adult in the film, I was really curious about that story. His relationship with Estarriol was really sweet, because he always believed in Ged even when he wasn't sure about his own beliefs. Oh, and my favourite character was definitely Ogion, he really cared for Ged as if he was his son, and I think that's really cute.

I think this book was great. I loved seeing Ged grow older and wiser, facing dragons, making friends and fighting his shadow. I'm really excited to read The tombs of Atuan and learn more about him and this world!
