I am bothering you with questions and statements. quick, tell the audience your thoughts on Dracula 1933 spanish language edition
The classic Spanish Language Dracula (I'm pretty sure it was actually 1931 technically) is so fucking good. Villarías is honestly a superior Dracula to Lugosi. Eva Seward is beautiful and I would be her lesbian boyfriend and treat her way better than Juan because Juan Harker is a little bitch just like his English Language counterpart. Rubio isn't my all time favorite Renfield (That'll always be Frye) but he is really really fucking good to the point that it's honestly close. Also the direction and use of the sets was absolutely gorgeous and frankly vastly superior to the English Language version.

Mihawk Headcannons
Some of the headcannons I have about Mihawk that have recently been eating a whole through my brain like a very persistent worm.
These are all just my hopes and dreams based on no evidence whatsoever so yeah the resolute language is just for jokes. - When we see Mihawk at Roger's execution he is 19 and has to wear Yoru across his back because she is too tall for him. Meaning that there was a good at least 5 years where Mihawk prayed every day that he would continue to grow so he could wear Yoru down his back and live out his aesthetic.
-Also, Yoru probably weighed more than 19-year-old Mihawk, and that weight is not distributed evenly, especially with how Mihawk was wearing her across his back. And Mihawk even then was masterfully skilled of course, but say, every now and again he'd be distracted, maybe by a certain redhead whose to say🤷🏿♀️, and forget to counterbalance losing him his ever-present fight with gravity. All this to say was that in the right circumstances, young Mihawk was very tippable and had to quickly become acquainted with the expert skill of picking yourself up while on the sand, with a sword bigger than you are strapped across his back.
- I don't really care how but it is imperative to me that Mihawk knew Rayleigh, Garp, Benn and Yasopp as a teenager/very young adult and they used to clown him relentlessly. Garp and Ray are too damn old to be scared of a teenage Mihawk, Yasopp has no self-preservation and Benn has always recognized Mihawk as the awkward, sarcastic mess he is and has had to scold him just as much as his Captain. It's why they are the two rhp he's most familiar with and Benn is his favorite (captain included) - He is Spanish. I know a lot of people headcanon Romanian because of the whole Dracula lives in a dark castle thing but I will stand by he looks like a Spanish Conquistador till my dying day. And obviously, because people don't have to be from just one place he can deffs be both! But yeah I think he's Spanish and should speak/understand Spanish solely because Doffy is also Spanish (can't believe people thought he was German his name is literally Donquioxte) and regularly tries to rizz people up at the Warlord mewting (namely Crocodile) in Spanish and Mihawk (the only other Spanish speaker) has to bare the burden of comprehension of the truly fluid and vile nonsense Doffy is spewing. And Doffy who of course also clocks this is trying to go for a record of what nobody is quiet sure, but whatever it is Mihawk will be damned before he loses at anything to that damn bird
- This one gonna be very brief because the rest of this has been pretty lighthearted and I don't want to harsh the vibes too much. But Mihawk definitely has scars on his back like not just one but properly multiple. And given the fact that he was supposedly betrayed, his mistrust and loner attitude, and the fact that his eyes are very rare and probably special all signs point to; he was definitely at one point hunted as a child till he turned hunter.
#mihawk and his internal enemy gravity#And there you have it folks; my deepest dark secrets#now tell me yours what are some mihawk or mishanks headcannons that drive you insane at inopportune hours of the night?#let me be the keeper of your darkness#throwing thoughts to the void#mishanks#hawkeye mihawk#one piece#dracule mihawk#op#red haired shanks#red haired pirates#takanome mihawk#akataka#donquixote doflamingo#monkey d garp#silvers rayleigh#one piece headcanons#one piece thoughts#mishanks headcannons#mihawk headcanons#akagami no shanks#one piece funny#headcanon#one piece mihawk#benn beckman

Immortal, bloodthirsty creatures that feed on humans - they have sharp fangs and a hatred for sunlight and garlic.
Vampires might not be the hero you typically root for, but they have transfixed us for centuries.
The first short story about the monster written in the English language was John Polidori's The Vampyre in 1819.
More followed, with Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1897 inspiring F.W. Murnau's silent film Nosferatu in 1922. This is now being remade by Robert Eggers and is set to be released in the UK in 2025, starring Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp and Nicholas Hoult.
But what's driving our hunger for vampire stories?
For writer and actor Mark Gatiss, his fascination with vampires started early. The co-writer of BBC drama series Sherlock and Dracula has been a "horror obsessive" for as long as he can remember.
Gatiss went on from a childhood love of scary stories to star as Dracula in an audio production, made a documentary on the monster as well as a 2020 BBC series, which sees the Count (played by Claes Bang) venture to London.
He says the opportunity to bring Stoker's iconic vampire to life felt "too good to be true".
"Like Sherlock Holmes, it's an imperishable myth and, really, if anyone gives you the chance to have a go at it - you have to do it," he explains.
Gatiss explains an image of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes "silhouetted against a doorway when he comes back from the dead with his collar up" helped spark the 2020 Dracula series with Claes Bang
Rolin Jones is an executive producer and a writer on the TV adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, based on Anne Rice's collection of novels.
The series, available on BBC iPlayer, follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (played by Jacob Anderson) who shares the story of his life and relationship with Lestat de Lioncourt (played by Sam Reid) with a journalist.
He explains stories about the vampires "come back over and over again" because they "get in your bones and haunt you," with many raising questions of immortality, death and love.
The modern popularity of the figures can be seen on social media with #vampire having 2.7 million posts on TikTok.
Jones adds that each day he will see more people tattooing the characters' faces on their body, explaining "this is a rabid fan base".
"They're really tense and complex characters", Jones says
'Scared me to death'
While the characteristics of fictional vampires have changed throughout history - some burn to a crisp in the sunlight, others have famously sparkly skin - they have one thing in common: immortality.
Dr Sam George - an associate professor at the University of Hertfordshire who taught students about vampires in fiction - explains that part of the reason the monster endures is because they "get us to think about the big questions that concern us, ideas about ageing" as well as "what happens beyond the grave".
She adds that "the vampire's always been linked very strongly with disease, with contagion," adding that if we look back in history we can see that our interest in the immortal monster seems to pique around times of mass disease.
"When the first fictional vampire appeared in 1819, there was a strong link with tuberculosis," she says.
"Nosferatu is made to actually look like plague rats," Dr George explains
She adds that F.W. Murnau's silent film Nosferatu in 1922, centring on a character famous for the plagued rats he brought in his wake, came shortly after the Spanish influenza pandemic.
The academic adds that this is "really important to why vampires are so popular and on trend now, when you think of Nosferatu and its link to the plague, post Covid we're very interested in the vampire as contagion."
Executive producer Jones adds that a key point of interest for him lies in working out why vampires want to keep living. "You take mortality out of any drama, and it's quite interesting," he says.
Jones adds that Ms Rice herself wrote the novel after losing her daughter and that this sense of "grief and mourning" is "exceptionally articulated" in the book.
'They seduce you'
"There's this allure to them," Jones says of vampires - like Assad Zaman, who plays the vampire Armand and Jacob Anderson, who plays Louis de Pointe du Lac
While vampires may let us play out our fears about mortality and death, Jones adds that there is something else that draws us to the fanged figures.
"They're the sexiest, the most sensual of monsters," he says. "They seduce you."
Jones adds that when he first picked up the novel Interview with the Vampire, "it seemed to me what I was reading was this really repressed and really messy love story."
Dr George agrees, explaining "vampires have gotten younger and better looking over the years" and notes the difference between Nosferatu and Twilight's Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson).
The academic adds there has been "a shift" in the way people read vampire fiction, explaining there has been a lot of interest in the topic of sexuality and vampires, like the "queer family" presented in Ms Rice's novel.
The combination of love and immortality, Dr George says, is also seen in Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film Bram Stoker's Dracula, which ran with the tagline "love never dies".
For Dr George, the "sense that the vampire can address a number of questions all at once," from death to love is the reason it stays with us today.
This article made me curious (I haven't put combination of some/all as an option as 100% would vote for it, as of course it isn't just one thing... so I ask the *most* significant thing for you)...
Edit to add that this is very difficult even for me to answer and I created the poll. Now, I'd say existential questions would be my top answer, but when I first read the books, it was the exploration of the outsider/difference I think for me, so perhaps that's the truest answer?

Looking up the names of some UTY characters.
Decibat is obvious. Decibels are a measure of volume, Decibat is a bat that hates too much volume.
Dalv is "Vlad" spelled backwards, and he kinda looks like a Dracula.
I've covered Martlet before. It's a bird that never lands, and Marty keeps telling us to keep moving.
El Bailador:
Yeah, that checks out. Didn't know it was a real Spanish word.
Starlo may be a Pokemon reference? I don't know much about Pokemon, but I found this:
UTY devs did the same thing, named the star-shaped character after his shape.
Angie, Gilbert, Moray- they're all fish, and they're all named after fish.
Ace has a card attack, Mooch is a pickpocket. I have no idea why Ed is the only one with a normal-sounding name, but "Edward" means guard and he is the biggest and strongest of all of them.
As for the Ketsukane family... I have no idea. I'm finding several words similar to "Chujin" in various Oriental languages (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). I found this on a Mortal Kombat GameFAQ's page, and it seems the most likely:
Chujin was brilliant, but always overlooked. His only award was "You Tried..." He's also a boss monster. So... maybe because he's always been in the middle, but wants to be on top?
Took a bit of looking to find this for "Ketsukane." Judgment bell, hmm...
(I feel it's also worth noting that when I try to google "ketsukane", google keeps suggesting I change it to "kitsune." And... well, iykyk.)
So far, all I get for "Ceroba" is links to other people asking what "Ceroba" means. Yay. Someone suggested Cerberus, the dog with multiple faces who guards the gateway to Hades (hell). That could fit Ceroba- she's connected to multiple deaths, and not to bad-mouth her when she went thru so much, but she did reveal multiple "faces."
And Kanako:

So I saw this post about how in the books, Dracula is actually an old man and I always imagined Dracula looked like older Christopher Lee, who played him while he was a kid. While looking him up I accidentally discovered that Christopher Lee was the coolest person in the universe and there is a non-zero chance he was actually Dracula in real life
Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee CBE CStJ (May 27th 1922 - June 7th 2015), Sir because he was knighted in 2009 for his charity and his contributions to cinema
So first of all, I saw that he actually knew 8 LANGUAGES (English, Spanish, French, Swedish, Italian, German, Russian and Greek) and was also a staggering 6 feet 5 inches in height. Born in Belgravia in London, one of the most Dracula sounding places I’ve ever heard of, here’s some insane facts about him
•His father, Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey Trollope Lee of the 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps, fought in the Boer War and World War 1
•His mother, Countess Estelle Marie (née Carandini di Sarzano) was an Edwardian beauty who was painted by Sir John Lavery, Oswald Birley, and Olive Snell, and sculpted by Clare Sheridan
•Lee's maternal great-grandfather, Jerome Carandini, the Marquis of Sarzano, was an Italian political refugee
•Jerome’s wife was English-born opera singer Marie Carandini (née Burgess), meaning that Lee is also related to famous opera singer Rosina Palmer
•His parents would divorce when he was four and his mother would marry Harcourt George St-Croix Rose, banker and uncle of Ian Fleming, making the author of the James Bond books Lee’s step cousin. Fleming would then offer him two roles as the antagonist in the film adaptations of his books, though he was only able to land the antagonist role in The Man With the Golden Gun. It’s believed his role in the film is significantly better and more complex than his book counterpart, played as “a dark side of Bond”
•His family would move and they lived next door to famous silent film actor Eric Maturin
•One night, before he was even 9 years old, he was introduced to Prince Yusupov and Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, THE ASSASSINS OF GRIGORI RASPUTIN, WHOM LEE WOULD GO ON TO PLAY MANY YEARS LATER
•Lee applied for a scholarship to Eton, where his interview was in the presence of the ghost story author M.R. James, who is considered one of the best English language ghost story writers in history and who widely influenced modern horror
•He only missed by King’s Scholar by one place by being bad at math, one of the only flaws God gave him
•Due to lack of working opportunities, Lee was sent to the French Riviera and stayed with his sister and her friends while she was on holiday, and on the way there he stopped briefly in Paris with journalist Webb Miller, a friend of his step father. Webb Miller was an American journalist and war correspondent and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the execution of the French serial killer Henri Désiré Landru, also known as BLUEBEARD. He also helped turn world opinion against British colonial rule of India
•While staying with Miller he witnessed Eugen Weidmann’s execution by guillotine, the last public execution ever performed in France
•Arriving in Menton, Lee stayed with the Russian Mazirov family, living among exiled princely families
•When World War 2 began, Lee volunteered to fight for the Finnish Army against the Soviet Union in the Winter War, and a year later, Lee would join the Home Guard. After his father died, he would join the Royal Air Force and was an intelligence officer and leading aircraft man and would later retire as a flight lieutenant in 1946
•While spending some time on leave in Naples, Lee climbed Mount Vesuvius, which erupted only three days later
•After nearly dying in an assault on Monte Cassino, Lee was able to visit Rome where he met his mother’s cousin Nicolò Carandini, who had fought in the Italian Resistance Movement. Nicolò would later go on to be the Italian Ambassador to Britain. Nicolò was actually the one to convince Lee to become an actor in the first place
•Oh yeah Christopher Lee was seconded to the Central Registry of War Criminals and Security Suspects where he was tasked with HELPING TRACK DOWN NAZI WAR CRIMINALS
•Lee’s stepfather served as a captain in the Intelligence Corps
•He was actually told he was too tall to be an actor, though that would honestly help him considering one of his first roles was as The Creature in The Curse of Frankenstein
•He was cast in Captain Horatio Hornblower R.N (1951) as a Spanish captain due to not only his fluency in Spanish but also he knew how to fence!
•Lee’s portrayal of Dracula had a crucial aspect of it which Bela Lugosi’s didn’t have: sexuality, a prime aspect of the original novels.
•While being trapped into playing Dracula under Hammer Film Productions, Lee actually hated the script so much that he would try his best to sneak actual lines from the original novel into the script
•Ironically, he was rejected from playing in The Longest Day because “he didn’t look like a military man”
•Christopher Lee was friends with author Dennis Wheatley, who “was responsible for bringing the occult into him”. He would go on to play in two film adaptations of his novels
•His biggest regret in his career is not taking the role of Sam Loomis from Halloween when offered to him
•Christopher Lee was the only person involved with the Lord of the Rings movies to have actually met J.R.R Tolkien
•When playing Count Dooku, he actually did most of the swordsmanship himself
•Christopher Lee was the second oldest living performer to enter the Billboard Top 100 charts with the song “Jingle Hell” at 91 years old. After media attention, he would get No. 18, and Lee became the oldest person to ever hit the Billboard Top 20 chart
I really am leaving some stuff out here and I may go on

Mihawk x Ghost Rose Headcanons
I'm trying to get a grip on Mihawk again after a week of Bogard writing so I came with a silly game of how would be Mihawk and Ghost Rose knowing each other as a couple after he managed to find her again.
I don't know if it's been obvious, but I want my Ghost Rose Oc to be mexican coded. I'm headcanoning that she spent all the years with her niece hidding in her birthtown at the Red Line region equivalent to LATAM (and you can't change my mind, half the Red Line is LATAM and Mexico is on the East Blue side).
Meanwhile, Mihawk is so spaniard coded it's not even subtle. That flamenco theme they came up for OPLA just cemented it. Plus, all the gloomy Dracula aesthetic... I'm headcanoning he had a spaniard-coded mother and a romanian-coded father if we take Kuraigana Island as a fantasy reimagining of Bram Stoker's Transylvania and Nightmare Before Christmas.
So this is a half-spaniard Mihawk with mexican Ghost Rose:
Everything happened so fast after Mihawk found you again, seduced you and convinced you to go away with him that it came as a surprise when, during your trip back to your hometown to retrieve your belongings, you made a comment in spanish and he answered in return.
You were still knowing each other so you had yet to talk about your respective past and families.
Hearing you speaking the language of his mother for the first time, even with a different accent, made Mihawk extra passionate and romantic towards you that day.
You tried to be as discrete as you can when arriving to your village to inform your noisy extended family (strong emphasis on extended, your father's sister took way to seriously her mother and wifely dutties having eight children) about your niece going away to her new life and you going away with someone you met.
Like that's going to keep them satisfied.
You ended staying for dinner and subjected to your father's relatives meddling.
No, you're not running away to elope, you just met and are knowing each other. No, you're NOT pregnant!
Mihawk takes it like a champ, his stoic countenance and menacing aura not enough to relent your tías from their noisy ways. In a way, they remind him of his own mother and how carefree and meddling she could be too sometimes, when his father would spent enough time away for her to feel safe again...
His ears may be ringing and his brows lightly frowned, but you can detect the smallest of smirks at the corner of his lips.
The food is like nothing Mihawk had ever taste. He do recognizes most of the ingredients, though half of the spices and definetely not any of the types of chiles he's presented with. You warn him to not believe any of your cousins anctics about the intensity of the salsas, all of them are spicy. He still takes a taste of the most spicy one. His force of will to not react to it is astonishing, but his face does turns an alarming shade of red and he drinks the tallest glass of cold water in a go.
And talking about water... There's no such thing as regular water on all the table. There're several pitchers with colorful fruity liquids that everybody insist on calling "fresh water of *fruit name*". He gives you a knowing smirk when you take a glass from the berries water. His mother had a preference for some milky like beverage that he recognizes and have a taste. The flavor is not exactly the same but its close enough to give him a bit of homesickness.
And don't make him start with the language. He was pretty sure he had a good grip of his mother's language and learnt it well enough to be fluent in it, except now he have to ask for clarification one of every ten words he hears, five if the relative in question has a fast speak.
You stay seated by his side all the time, giving him reassurance and advice, a hand on his knee, his arm on your shoulders. You take the fact he hasn't insult someone as a good sign, some of your cousins can be a pest and you have no remorse in calling them out, rudely if you have to.
As the night goes by, somebody gets a guitar out of somewhere and starts playing, followed by other instruments. You drag him to the yard to dance. The rythms are familiar and yet have their own uniqueness, so the steps, more hips' movements and closeness, that he has absolutely no qualms to follow.
You're giving your good byes when you're invited by one of your cousins to visit the vineyards he works at tomorrow. His boss would totally give you a special discount for the tour. The mention of wine is enough to hook Mihawk and he's accepting before he realizes it.
And then one of your aunts mention the festivities for the local saint start in three days. A night of loud music, fireworks and street food... Mihawk can't help to remember his mother mentioning the festivitiews of her own birthtown and he say yes again without realizing it.
It's later than he anticipates when you finally retire to the small home you lived for the past years. It's fresh and cozy, with tall ceilings and almost floor to ceiling windows to deal with the suffocating heat, wood furniture and hand embroidered fabrics.
You both were too mentally exhausted to do anything more than cuddling in bed with the minimum of cloth. You talked for hours about your families.
How you were raised in the village until after the death of your marine father at sea, your mother remarring barely a year after with a stuffy and wealthy high officer who took her and her daughters to live at the fanciest part of Loguetown. How you couldn't stand the new society you were draged to and longed for a life of your own.
How he was raised mostly by his mother at Shikkearu Kingdom (main city of Kuraigana Island before its fall), and his absent father, a soldier of the local lord.
There were still much to learn from each other, but Mihawk was set more than ever that you were it for him, and you could feel your guarded heart warming more and more towards the swordman.
And now I have to write a part 2 of them living in his castle with her new partner and her mexican quirks... and then the children arrive (aka Perona and Zoro, that will be fun). And how the Phantom Pirates react with Ghost Rose romantically entangling with the same Warlord she had to divert from the party a year ago and she had definitely not fell for.
.

🦇🩷VAMPYROS LESBOS (1971)🩷🦇
I don’t think I need to translate the title of this one lol. A Spanish-production, German-language film set in Turkey. This one is not inspired by Carmilla, but by Dracula. Countess Nadnie Carody, once a bride of Dracula’s, has survived into the modern world and now preys solely on women. Much like Dracula, she hires a real estate lawyer who she coaxes into staying for longer than necessary at her modern (and by that I do mean wildly groovy) beach-side mansion in Turkey. There are other allusions to Dracula in this one, including a Dr Seward character with a female Renfield-type character under his psychiatric care. I really really love this movie and found it surprisingly substantive for a film that is otherwise your typical erotic horror nonsense. An interesting element in this one is that the actress who plays Countess Nadine is younger than the actress who plays her lawyer, while the vampire character is technically older of course, it’s one of the only vampire movies I know of where the vampire’s primary victim doesn’t appear younger than themself. There’s also a recurring scorpion motif in this movie that I just had to include in my illustration :)
eighth drawing in my lesbian vampire illustration series :) and you can buy the original drawing HERE :)

↳ NSFW/SFW: I do not proof graphic or explicit content [I have no issue with anyone writing or reading it, this is just a personal preference]
- Nonexplicit content is fine
- If there is graphic/explicit content within the work, but it does not make up the entirety of it, I am fine just skipping over
↳ Gore/Extreme Violence is also fine
↳ I do speak Spanish, but I have not had extensive language education in it and my grammar is shitty at best; so I don’t really proof Spanish works
