does somebody have a word that describes the sadness that results from gratefulness/happiness? that feeling underneath the happiness of a great moment with the people you love that comes from the consciousness of time passing, etc… any language is fine! i would be much obliged 🙏

there used to be everything between us 

but it is now little more than nothing.

knowing that hurts because once

we made every excuse to get alone with each other

but now even eye contact feels too risky.

we used to interlock our fingers and dance

but now i just bump into you in the hallway of an unfamiliar place

where we know both of us need someone.

deep down i miss you, dearly and truly

but saying that feels scary and awkward

because i know it was better in the long run,
