i saw some posts about people complaining about the “spam like = blocked” - so i am just gonna say that we don’t hate you for LIKING our content, that’s utterly ridiculous. it’s just some of y’all don’t know that likes don’t do shit on tumblr. so if you have the time to like all of a writer’s posts, consider leaving a reblog or even a comment - you don’t know how much it means to us writers, it’s WAY more motivating than likes.

also i saw this one post about calling creators note and recognition hungry for wanting more reblogs and let me just tell you this - if you worked your ass off on something and posted it after hours, days or even weeks of working on it, wouldn’t you want to get recognition for it?? people WANT notes/likes/kudos or whatever - that’s literally the whole fucking reason why we post shit online, for other people to see it!! you would want to receive feedback and praise for all of your hard work, would you not?

i know not every creator dislikes spam liking - and some even love it. good for them! but you DON’T need to bash other creators who don’t tolerate it!!

so the next time you see a post/fic/artwork or anything that you like - consider leaving a reblog or a comment - or even an ask! sometimes it even makes our day :)

You know the dumbest shit I’ve seen is “spam like = blocked”.

I never understood it. If somebody likes your work and you block them for it? Why even post it? I know it has something to do with like algorithms and some dumb shit but that just proves to me you care more about “analytics” and “trying to get popular” off your work. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it doesn’t help your cause to look like cunt to people that like your art.

I NEED ANSWERS PLS

Over the last week and a half there’s been at least 4 different people liking a bunch of my posts and I’m a little worried since I know shadowbanning is a thing that happens to some blogs if people spam like too much and I wanted to know if anyone could give me a little more insight on this? I’ve seen mixed opinions about it here.

I don’t really mind likes. I prefer a comment so I know just how much someone enjoyed the story (and reblogs are really nice because they help spread my writing!) but I’m grateful for any interactions I get and I know some people keep imagines in their likes to read and reblog later, so I understand that. HOWEVER, I need to know if multiple accounts liking 14 or so posts in a row is something I should be worried about? I don’t wanna block someone for liking a bunch of my posts but I don’t wanna get shadowbanned either 😅
