𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆  +  ENCORE ! a multi-muse doc tailored for in-depth            rp sample exploration.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ oh wow, it has been a moment since i posted on here. i apologize for being MIA but if i'm being honest i was just in a mental creator block & was kind of drained mentally from college, but i swear that i'm back now! i bring you guys my first-ever sample doc and i hope you enjoy it. ✦  𝖡𝖱𝖤𝖠𝖪𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 ・ this doc does not utilize the custom sizing plug-in as it was removed unfortunately; however, it does have images as backgrounds, so please be careful when editing it. ・ a few comments that highlight the word counts for the sample spaces.
・ as always, the colors for the pngs have been edited in pics art, but everything can be made to look the way you want it to. ✦  𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗚𝗜𝗡
thank you guys for sticking with me, i hope this year is great for all of you! except for the weirdos who remove my credit from my docs, you should die! anywho, please leave my credit. if you need help with this doc or any others, do not be afraid to dm me on discord. my handle is melchotic. ( the link to the doc is in the underlined sample doc word above! ) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

One of these days, I'm going to actually learn how to play Dwarf Fortress.
I was never able to quite get into the "proper" version that you can play for free, and I've been very occasionally fucking around in the Steam version.
Specifically: there is a world I made in the first month of its release, the Realm of Enchanting. Every so often, I'll peruse the Legends mode, or use the embark screen to take billions of screenshots in an attempt to stitch together a massive fucking map of the world without ever actually creating a fortress.
Tumblr media
I'm still trying to stitch together the zoomed in version, but I'm not sure I have the patience, attention span, or - let's be honest - disk space for a PNG that fucking enormous.
You may be asking yourself: why don't I just make a fortress in the world? Because the last time I tried to play the game "properly" I ended up wasting a literal year of game time because I forgot to hit pause while trying to figure out how farming works, barely making any progress mining into the mountain so all my dwarfs were in a barely functional communal living area, and all of the animals that came with the caravan died of exposure due to my incompetence.
All that took place in a different world save, and I'm terrified of screwing something up in this one. Like I said, I've been perusing the Legends mode, and I have become strangely invested in a lot of the characters I've been reading about.
Nevermind that the character that first caught my eye and got me going down this pseudo-wikiwalk rabbithole and which made me strangely invested in this particular world save was a necromancer, we'll just gloss over that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like I'll vibe more with Adventure Mode when it eventually comes to Steam. I'll only have one dwarf to wrangle there instead of Many, and that seems less panic attack inducing on my part.
And besides, if I understand what that game mode is actually like, Adventure Mode will let me explore the forts created by the NPCs, and that might help me figure out how to construct my own forts.
If I ever get around to figuring out how farms work.

GShade guide: External Textures 101
Tumblr media
External textures open up an amazing world of possibilities: think superimposed visual effects, or custom stickers (like logos or decoration)!
So grab a coffee and let’s learn how to use them for a simple but powerful purpose: custom backgrounds!
But first, what’s a texture? In short, a texture is simply an image, like a .jpg or .png file, that you can load and use within the 3D space for different purposes. In broader 3D terms, it means the 'skin' you wrap a 3D model's wireframe surface around.
Tumblr media
(You can learn more about the broader meaning of texture mapping with this handy video.)
Now, back to GShade - we can’t replace in-game textures, but we can add new elements to the 3d space within the game and apply custom textures. So here's the step-by-step:
1 - Locate the Custom Textures folder
Tap the Windows key to open the Windows prompt, type the following line, and press Enter:
%SystemDrive%\Users\Public\GShade Custom Shaders\Textures
This will open an Explorer window listing all the custom textures available for GShade to use.
Now, the good stuff™: you can install new textures simply by copying new files into this folder!
Tumblr media
2 - Load and Show a Custom Texture
Open GShade, locate a shader named Stagedepth, and enable it:
Tumblr media
(Leave the number of StageDepths to 1, that's enough for now.)
Now look out for a little widget called Preprocessor Definitions, and expand it.
Tumblr media
We need to inform 3 parameters:
StageTex (the name of the texture we want to use)
STAGE_SIZE_X (the width, in pixels, of the image we’re loading, or the BUFFER_WIDTH keyword for full-screen width), and
STAGE_SIZE_Y (same, but for height, or BUFFER_HEIGHT).
Tumblr media
For now, let’s use one of the textures installed by default. Locate and enable StageDepth, and use this value (and make sure to use double-quotes around the texture name):
StageTex: "LensSprite.png"
And hopefully, you'll see something like this:
Tumblr media
Now play with the shader’s sliders, especially the 'Depth' value since it allows you to determine how close or far the texture will be placed. (Remember, you can always right-click on a GShade control to open up a context menu with the ‘reset to Default’ option.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you got to this point - congratulations! You just loaded your first custom texture into GShade. I’m proud of you!
Time to put your safety goggles on - we’ll use Depth to project the texture away, and use in-game scene set-up to match the injected background composition. Here's the image I'll use, generated with MidJourney:
Tumblr media
Since we can’t modify the texture itself, we need to make sure our scene setup matches aspects of the injected background like color and contrast. (It can be modified by GShade filters, though, so you can apply effect like Blur by placing StageDepth closer to the top of the filter list):
First, the scene setup...
Tumblr media
Now, enable a preset - in this case, Neneko Jolt:
Tumblr media
Enable StageDepth and specify the custom texture in StageTex, so it automatically loads...
Tumblr media
...and place StageDepth before the ADOF filter, so its bokeh effect applies to the texture as well:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...and presto! Now you have a beautifully merged custom background.
Tumblr media
This opens up a lot of composition possibilities; looking forward to seeing your attempts with external textures!

Hey neocities community! I'm a freelance illustrator and game artist dipping my toes into web design for the first time. My ambition is to create a portfolio site with a point-and-click game vibe, using the most simple code I can put together. I would love to create a unique space that feels interactive and endlessly exploreable. The site will feature my various art projects, and there are already some (small) playable games up for download. I'm aiming to add more animated elements later down the line, but I'm currently learning the ropes of html and the site is still very bare bones. For now, please enjoy the fun visuals of my cave as I continue digging the tunnels deeper and deeper..
These are some of my current goals i'm seeking more resources/tutorials for: -Find a suitable way to add buttons and text on an image -Play animations when hovering and on button press -Layering images -Create a photo gallery with filters/tags in the style of the site -Make the site more accessible and scale everything consistently -Build a simple dressup game using drag and drop pngs -Find a new guestbook host, as 123guestbook.com is going away

Hi!! Sorry if this is a weird question and u don’t have to answer it but how did u do the moodboard/visual media thingie on ur office gossip nanami fic? Do u have a tutorial/tips? You’re one of my favourite writers by the way ur nanami fics are so good 😘😘
omg thank you soooo! 🤍 it's not a weird question at all, and i hope i'm able of explaining everything! (@gothsuguru i'll tag you since you mentioned the layout, feel free to ignore!)
so a tip i'll give anyone before starting to edit is just to stop and visualize what you would like to do. this fic is an office au and the main character is a mess, so i just thought her home screen would be painful to look at and things evolved from there.
your best friend is pinterest, ibis paint, photopea and deviantart. you can use any other editors of course, go with what makes you more confortable, but i use photopea a lot for college and i personally think it's pretty easy for everyone to use + it's free.
on deviantart you will look for templates (as in: "playlist template", "instagram feed template", etc.), pngs, textures, all those things that will make the base of your edit.
pinterest you will go for both inspiration and what will give flavor to it. like i used a gallery template, and on my many pinterest board i chose what would fit it better.
on photopea/photoshop you will open the template you downloaded and play with it. you will add photos, text, etc. don't be afraid of making something wrong. all you need to do is ctrl+z and try again. if you're not familiar with it, explore, try to look at some tutorials on yt, have your fun.
then on ibis/color pallete sites you will find the color you want everything to be, use the hex code to edit, and give the final touches.
when it comes to the dividers, i make them on ibis. i just paint it with the two colors i want my gradient then change the pencil to the blur and... well, blur.
for you to get the perfect colors, i mostly just fuck around with rgb until i get the ones i like the most.
and the gradient texts i use those two sites: this one to copy the html code at the end and this one where i replace ; with blank space (literally put nothing on the second box and hit replace text then copy).
my tip is that you go on tumblr, create a post, change the configuration on the post to html, paste the code, save as a draft. then hit on edit to open the draft, copy the text already with the gradient, and add it to the post that it'll actually be on.
i say that because if you change the configuration to html it'll fuck whatever photos you had on it, so for me it's way more practical to have a draft where i just drop any gradient codes and simply copy it.
from the 12 posts on my draft at least five of them look like that:

Hey Lara,
I'm wondering, can you give some advice for art since I'm not that good at digital art;-; here is the image I am having trouble with
Tumblr media
I don't know how to make the broken glass effect and I still don't know how to draw eyes;-;
hmm, I recommend finding a style to base your style on an art style that you like, be it a show, comic or artist, the important thing is that you can create your own style. As for this art, I can't even recognize a character, I recommend a bigger image with more space for each character, but I also recommend starting with a doodle of each character to be sure how you want to draw them. practice is important and so is character design, especially on anything related to dangaronpa!
By the way, I don't know how to make a broken glass effect, I use png's from google, and about the eyes, I recommend you take a look at the eye designs in shoes, comics or arts that you like, and try to make your own style of drawing of eyes. my sister has done a lot of eye drawings already, and every day she gets better!
I recommend doing several drawings every day and especially getting out of your comfort zone. You will be able to explore your style a lot by stepping out of your comfort zone and designing something different every day. your style won't be a work of art overnight, it takes practice, if you love to design, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something good!
I would first recommend starting out by trying to draw with different styles, look at references until you find your style! I believe in you a lot! hope this helps, good luck! ^-^

Devlog #001 - Starting Progress
Hello! This is the first devlog for my current game project called "Love, Death."
As stated in my previous post, this project was originally a research assignment for one of my university classes. As I had already made quite a few assets already, I have lots of stuff to show off in this devlog!
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: A screenshot of a work-in-progress shot of one of the opening scenes of the game)
Characters
So far, I have created the two central characters that I want the game to be focused on: Ghost and Shepherd. As this is incredibly early in development, I hope to update these sprites in the future should I make any major changes! (Especially Shepherd's sprite since it feels the roughest)
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: A gif of Ghost and Shepherd's sprites doing their walk-cycles)
Concept Art
While most of the concept art I have so far are in the rough-sketch stage, here is one piece that I've been working on for a while now that takes place further into the game's story :)
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: A work-in-progress illustration of Ghost and a mysterious man in the foreground)
Level Design
With the original rooms I made in the prototype, I learned a lot about how RPG Maker MZ handles parallax mapping and in general, how maps should be laid out.
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: the opening room of the "Love, Death" prototype - a long blue room with a glowing door to the left and a gravestone to the right.)
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: another room from the "Love, Death" prototype -Shepherd's office which is basked in hues of red. In the far left, there is a desk in front of a window.)
With all that information, I've started planning out the room layouts of the levels I want players to go through with an emphasis on good composition, exploration, and different points of interest.
In the coming days and weeks, I hope to assemble some placeholder rooms with layouts I've created to see how they turn out and figure out ways I could improve upon them.
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: A mock-up of a level with different rooms and interaction points)
Tilesets
Tumblr media
(Pictured Above: A screenshot of a test room with a custom tileset.)
When planning out this game, I was unsure of whether or not I should use RPG Maker's default tiling system or if I should focus more on parallax mapping for the game's maps. In the end, I decided to do a little bit of both!
I've created a placeholder tileset for the first area of the game that works with RPG Maker's autotile system and some other tiles that I could use for different variants.
When it comes to parallax mapping, I'll save the maps and their tiles to a png and use those as a reference point for the elements I want to parallax map. These include lighting effects, foreground elements, and scrolling backgrounds.
Gameplay Mechanics
Below are a few things I've been working on during my testing!
(Pictured Above: A video showing a few tests in the game.)
Idle Animations
I made simple idles which happen to characters when they are idle for more than 5 seconds.
Character Switching
When pressing the [TAB] button, players will be able to quickly switch between playing as Ghost or Shepherd. Depending on who they are playing as, new mechanics would become available to them.
Shepherd Crawling
One of the unique mechanics that would be available to Shepherd would be crawling! While small spaces would be unreachable to a tall sprit like Ghost, Shepherd can reach them with ease!
When interacting with small spaces, Shepherd would crawl into the space, giving players access to whatever lies within.
Goals for Next Update:
Complete a draft layout of the tutorial area of the game
Create at least one area-specific puzzle
Create a Ghost-specific mechanic
Fun Facts and In Closing!
I thought I'd take this portion of this post to talk a little about myself and why I'm developing this game.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Somewhatcold (you can call me Jan), an 18-year-old university student in Canada interested in game design and concept art. I've always been in love with RPGs and some of my favourite games include the Dragon Age series, Final Fantasy XV, and OneShot.
I'm currently doing a Bachelor's of Design in Illustration with a minor in Games and Play and hope to use this experience as well as further projects to learn more about game development.
Although I've made different RPG Maker games in the past for a few school projects, I've never actually made something of this scale. It's always been a long-term goal of mine to create something like this so I'm incredibly excited to see where this goes!
Feel free to ask me anything in my ask-box or to contact me via the instagram I linked above!
The next devlogs are definitely not going to be this long - this one in particular had a lot of information simply because I already started this project a few weeks ago. Going forward in the future, the devlogs are mostly going to be smaller updates and new things I've added to the game.
Below, I've also included some samples of my previous illustration work just for funsies :D
Tumblr media

Blender newbie progress
So if anyone knows me, they know I cannot draw to save my life. I can use vroid pretty well, but that wasn't cutting it anymore.
So... it was time to learn THE WAY OF BLENDER 3D
Aileen and I piled into a discord call and we had a lot of fun, watching blender guru's tutorial and I learned a lot, but I also started to follow it on my own time as well, to get some proper practice in.
Tumblr media
Too smooth
Tumblr media
MAKE IT LUMPY
Tumblr media
ICING
This is still a WIP, I'm hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow all things considered. I already got my next project planned out
Tumblr media
Which will be exploring isometric spaces so I can make sets for my models to hang out in and make my own streaming assets along with picture assets
Tumblr media
Gaaahhh this is so FUCKING OLD-
But one thing I REALLY wanna do is make better backgrounds for my models. This for example, was made in Animal Crossing and it's obvious it's a PNG. Currently, I use either PNG's or presets in VRM posing
Tumblr media
Sometimes combining low poly presets and png's to make for example, Mila having a mental breakdown over breakfast. 8D
Now, I might not be able to make everything and it's going to take progress.
Other things I was working on also included animation in MMD
SOoo yeah, lot of learning so far. See you all later!

Deadline: May 1st, 2024 Payment: Prose: 1¢ per word, Poetry: $10, Artwork: $25 (Cover art is $50.) Theme: Heredity NonBinary Review is open for submissions on the theme of "heredity." Maybe you have your mother's nose, or your father's eyes, or your grandmother's hair, or your uncle's earlobes. There are so many things that run in families - not just physical characteristics, but so many of our habits, tastes, and ways of thinking. The "nature vs. nurture" debate has been raging forever, although science is finding that a surprising amount of what we think of as learned behavior might actually be biological. But what else might we inherit from our families? Magic powers? A tail? ESP? We're looking for speculative takes on heredity - the unexpected, the impossible, the very furthest out there. We're NOT looking for stories about inheritance - things given to us by families or friends. We're not looking for werewolves or vampires (or any other well-known fictional monsters). We're looking for something new - something we've never seen before. Prose: All submissions must have a clear relationship to our theme, and be double-spaced in 12pt Times New Roman or they will be rejected. NonBinary Review  pays 1¢ per word for prose with a limit of 3000 words. Poetry: All submissions must have a clear relationship to our theme and be submitted in 12pt Times New Roman, or they will be rejected. Submitters may include up to THREE poems per submission, but each must be a separate file. NonBinary Review pays a $10 flat fee for poetry. Artwork: All submissions must have a clear relationship to our theme and be submitted as a jpg., .png., .tiff., or .psd file of 300dpi or greater (accepted pieces must be PRINT QUALITY). Submitters may include up to five pieces per submission, but each must be a separate file. NonBinary Review pays a $25 flat fee for visual art, or $50 for pieces chosen as cover art. Zoetic Press publishes the best in speculative lit - experimental, interstitial, luminous. We welcome submissions from EVERYONE. The only requirement is that they be in English, or translated into English (we love a translation). If your writing is outstanding, no matter who you are, we have a place for it. NonBinary Review, our award-winning themed lit journal is published quarterly. Each issue revolves around a specific theme, but we're asking contributors to go beyond the old familiar media tropes - we want speculative work that looks at our theme from unexpected angles. We're looking for work we can read with our whole body - work that gives us goosebumps, makes us see the world differently, has the tang of authenticity, makes us sit up and listen, and smells like....something. This analogy got out of hand. What we're saying is that we're not looking for re-hashes of images or stories we've read before. We want contributors to explore every facet of our themes, really getting in between the cracks, in the corners, all the forgotten places that no one ever thinks to explore. We want to read work that makes us think "I never would have thought of this, and yet, it's so fitting!" What we're NOT looking for is work that centers violence, rape, misogyny, racism, ableism, or degrading stereotypes of any kind. We know you're not that kind of writer, but we thought it should be said. NonBinary Review accepts reprints, but we do ask for previous publication details so they can be credited. Prose submissions (for which we pay 1¢ per word) should be 3000 words or fewer in length, double-spaced in 12pt Times New Roman font or similar. Poetry submissions (for which we pay a $10 flat fee) should include no more than 3 poems, each of which may be up to 3 pages in length. Please include each poem as a separate file. Art submissions (for which we pay a $25 flat fee) should include no more than 5 pieces. Each piece should be at least 300dpi, and at least 600 pixels on its smallest side. Any piece chosen for cover art will pay $50. We do not accept any submission that consists of links to an artist's website.
Please ensure that you are submitting to the correct category, as we have different editing teams for each. Submissions sent to the wrong category (e.g., poetry submissions sent to the prose category) will be declined. Dear Horace Greeley invites writers to ask questions about writing, submitting, publication, and any other aspect of the literary life that baffle them, and we'll answer them online. We don't promise that we have all the answers, but we do promise that we're here for you! Feedback for Poets of Color is just what it sounds like. People of color may submit ONE poem, up to 50 lines, for consideration. Two poets per month will be accepted, and the Poetry Editors will work with those two poets to edit, improve, and strengthen their work. Acceptances are done on the first of the month, although submissions are open year-round. Heartbeats: Visual Verse invites poets to push the boundaries of poetry. We're looking for poetry that combines narration, music, and visuals to create a complete experience. We're not looking for a static reading or words scrolling down a screen - we want interplay between visuals and audio that create something more than the sum of its parts. Poets may submit work of up to 140 seconds in length. We pay a flat fee of $25 per accepted video. Only those categories below are currently open for submissions. While there is a published close date for submissions, we have an acceptance cap for each issue, and submissions will be closed once we reach that cap, so don't wait until the last minute. Via: NonBinary Review.

The spirit is willing but the body is an absolute wimp. Very tired from work and running around the house cleaning and stuff for my family to come over. So I put in the time I could for this. I think it worked well and my mimic is hidden well. I really wanted to put my energy towards filling the space with as many tools as I could and explore their shape. Happy with the end result.

The Basics Of Logo Design - Lode Emmanuel Palle
Logo design is a creative and essential aspect of branding. A logo is a visual representation of a brand or company, and it should be memorable, versatile, and communicate the essence of the brand. Here are the basics of logo design explained by Lode Emmanuel Palle:
Simplicity: Keep the design simple and easily recognizable. A cluttered or complex logo can be difficult to remember and reproduce.
Memorability: A good logo should be memorable at a glance. Think of iconic logos like Apple or Nike – they are simple and instantly recognizable.
Relevance: The logo should reflect the nature of the business or brand it represents. Consider the values, products, and target audience of the brand.
Versatility: A logo should work well across various mediums and sizes – from business cards to billboards. It should be recognizable whether in color or black and white.
Timelessness: Aim for a logo design that will still be relevant and effective years down the line. Avoid using trendy elements that might become outdated quickly.
Colors: Choose colors that resonate with the brand's identity. Different colors evoke different emotions, so consider the psychological impact of color choices.
Typography: The choice of typography should be legible and appropriate for the brand. It can convey the brand's tone – whether formal, playful, or modern.
Originality: Strive to create a unique logo that sets the brand apart from competitors. Avoid using clipart or templates.
Scalability: Ensure the logo retains its quality and clarity when resized. Test it at various sizes to make sure it's still recognizable.
Balance: A well-designed logo has a balanced composition, where the elements are harmoniously arranged.
Negative Space: Utilize negative space creatively. It can add depth and meaning to the logo, and it's a clever way to hide additional imagery within the design.
Cultural Sensitivity: If your brand has an international presence, make sure the logo's symbols and colors are culturally appropriate and don't unintentionally offend.
Sketching and Conceptualizing: Begin the design process by sketching out multiple ideas. This helps you explore different concepts before moving to digital design.
Digital Design: Once you have a concept, use graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator to create a digital version. Vector graphics are ideal for logos as they can be scaled without losing quality.
Feedback and Iteration: Share your logo drafts with others, especially team members or clients. Constructive feedback can help refine the design.
Test in Different Contexts: See how the logo looks on different backgrounds, both light and dark, to ensure visibility and contrast.
Legal Considerations: Check for any potential trademark or copyright issues before finalizing the logo.
File Formats: Ensure you have the logo in various formats (PNG, JPEG, SVG, etc.) for different use cases.
According to Lodi palle, logo design is a creative process that requires experimentation and iteration. Don't be afraid to explore different ideas and seek feedback to create a logo that effectively represents the brand's identity.

Hey I really liked the discussion you were having with the other anons about Kory's arranged marriage arc especially the parts about how the titans don't really engage with her family or seem to have any opinions on how they treated her much. Off the top of my head I just remember Dick touching on it in moments like this (https://64.media.tumblr.com/b6baf170a9096af39e720fb44929c44c/tumblr_inline_nx94j70TcR1smk9mx_500.png) and little else. Do you know any other comics where Tamaran and Kory's family are explored in greater depth? I know there was a bit of it in the 99 Titans series but honestly I didn't like that comic much.
I remember mostly when we do Tamaran stuff, Dick is often a focus so we don't get to see other Titans interacting with Kory about her family much sadly. The one panel you showed does show one instance of Dick touching on it but yeah like so much else was just not there. Many of the other moments he does not acknowledge her messed up family situation at all ;_; and he's one of the characters who the writers include talking to her about this for significant periods of time, many others just aren't given that panel time with her post ToT. Joey was there the whole Tamaran v2 arc but if I recall correctly mostly interacted with Dick and Ryand'r, he didn't do much with Kory.
I'd have to re-read some NTT comics to look for small moments with other characters, but nothing at the moment is popping to my head. I haven't read titans 99 so I don't know what's going on in that story.
Kory's family does set up some fascinating dynamics, like there's so much to be said for how she perceives things -- and like aside I think that if we did see her and the titans talk about it, the fact that kory defends her parents would make them reluctant to bad-talk them too much and they might be avoidant about it, which could be interesting to see -- anyway so there is also much to be said about how her parents treated both her and kom (and also analysis on the fact that kom's inferiority complex, which is tied into her villainous actions, is also impossible to separate from her disability) but what I've got for them so far is just NTT. But I haven't read when she is in space after she leaves the titans; so maybe that might have something?
