Israel has cut water, electricity and food to Palestinians in Gaza. They are buying 10.000 M16 rifles and plan to distribute to civilian settlers in the West Bank to hunt down Palestinians. They're bombing the only way out of Gaza through Egypt, after telling refugees to flee through it, and have threatened the Egyptian government in case they let aid trucks pass through. Entire families, generations, are being wiped out and left to wander the streets hoping they don't get bombed.
Palestinians are using their last minutes of battery to let the world know about their genocide and are being met with a wall of "What about Hamas? What about the beheaded babies? Killing children on either side is bad!" even though the propaganda claims have been debunked over and over again. How cruel is it to ask somebody to condemn themselves before their last words? Or before grieving the loss of their entire families? When there's no such disclaimer to Israelis even though their government has shown over and over genocidal intent? Like who are you even trying to appease? What will your wishy washy statement do against decades of zionist thought infiltrating evangelical and Jewish stablishmemts?
Take action. Israel will fall back if public opinion turns its tide. The UK fell back on its bloody decision to cut aid to Palestine under public scrutiny. The USAmerican empire spends $3.8 billion dollars annually solely on this proxy war while its people suffer under a progressively military regime as well. News outlets are canceling last minute on Palestinian speakers while letting Israelis tell lies unchecked. Palestinian refugees are being targeted in ICE establishments and mosques are already being hounded by the FBI. France and Germany have banned pro-Palestine protests, while Netherlands and the UK have placed restrictions . You have the chance to stop this from turning into repeat of the Iraq war.
I want to do something but there's hardly anything for me to do from Brasil besides spreading the word and not letting these testimonies fall on deaf ears. I'm asking you to do this same ant work from wherever you are.

Genuine question: isn't Australia part of the Pacific ring of fire, and actually prone to earthquakes and therefore also tsunamis? My geography and geology are a little shaky, but I seem to remember that at least from some documentaries, and I know for certain that there have been volcanic incidents in Aōtera, which is right next door.
okay I’ll say it nicer:
australia was colonised according to the myth of terra nullius (or empty land). ever since the very early days of colonialism, the land has been framed as something untameable and unliveable. this has justified acts of violence against the first peoples here, in that they are seen as non-people. it has justified the destruction of sacred land in the goal of making australia look more european. (an example: our capital city contains a man-made lake that is now nothing better than a fetid carp pond. it’s disgusting and unnatural). basically, the idea of “taming australia’ has justified endless harm
“everything in australia is weird and dangerous” is not just some silly meme phrase, it is something that arcs back to the very beginning of white settlers laying claim to ‘australia’. and personally I am very sick of seeing it thrown around like it means nothing
#for real tho i live in southern california and people get..... weird about our native landscapes#like complaining about fire danger and how evil it is when its an integral part of our really unique ecosystem#were one of a handful of Mediterranean climates in the world.... all of which have been considered exotic by european colonisers#(the others are the actual Mediterranean southwest africa around cape town parts of chile and argentina and southwestern Australia)#theres also a propensity i think for the local features to get 'normalised' by culture around us so they arent seen as remarkable....#and therefore its fine to just get rid of it and develop it to be like other places and treat it however is most convienent#the number of times i hear assholes complain about environmental regulations here or pets they cant have due to risk of invasion l#or even the people saying its so easy to solve the energy crisis just put stuff in the desert theres nothing there boils my blood#its all so incredible and wonderful and beautiful and it kills me that people dont respect it#i wager it would kill me more if people had also been using that dismissal to ignore and marginalise and do even worse to my peoples#and sacred traditions and everything with that

Where can I find Free Palestine protests and Ceasefire protests?
A super international and continually updated list of actions can be found at Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network's:
Calendar of Resistance for Palestine 2024
They list events by date, then alphabetically by country, then by city - and it's common for them to have dozens of actions listed for a single date, especially on the weekends.
The United States especially often has 40+ events on a single day, especially on the weekends.
Events are posted with links to the event info posted by whoever's hosting the vast majority of the time.
Look blow the read-more for a list of many of the countries that have been on this protest calendar, in alphabetical order, since I know so many websites/lists of actions are country-specific
*Obviously this isn't the only good source of listings for protest events - there are many others. This is by far the biggest/most international roundup I've found, though, so I started with this. If you know another good place for finding ceasefire protests/events, please feel free to add it in the notes, bc I'm planning to put a bigger roundup together once I find enough other sites
Countries that Samidoun has listed/does list protests for include (in alphabetical order):
North America:
United States
Canada
Mexico
Puerto Rico (listed separately in anti-colonial solidarity)
Hawai'i (listed separately in anti-colonial solidarity)
Europe:
Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Denmark
England
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Netherlands
Norway
Portugal
Romania
Scotland
Serbia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Wales
SWANA Region (Southwest Asia/North Africa)*:
Bahrain
Iraq
Jordan
Kuwait
Lebanon
Palestine
Tunisia
Turkiye (Turkey)
*Samidoun notes that "We know that these events are mainly international and that the Arab people are marching everywhere for Palestine – we will be honored to add more Arab events whenever we are informed!"
Asia:
Bangladesh
India
Indonesia
Japan
Malaysia
Maldives
Pakistan
South Korea
Africa:
Kenya
Mauritius
Nigeria
South Africa
Tanzania
Tunisia
*Duplicating North African countries (well, Tunisia) here from the SWANA list btw
South America:
Brazil
Colombia
Chile
Peru
Venezuela
Australia and Oceania:
Aotearoa (New Zealand)
Australia

In the most inclement parts of the continent, characterised by lengthy periods of rain (often cold rain, and sometimes snow), more permanent forms of shelters were employed in semi-sedentary camps (see Figure 8) and were likely to have been personalised and decorated.

its djilba !! take me back to makuru i miss the rainnn
yk im always amazed that we insist on sticking to the arbitrary 'summer autumn winter spring' bullshit when like. they dont even line up that well with the weather patterns we get here? and we already have a perfect six season cycle that was developed after thousands of years of people living off the land?? like yeah okay i know why we use the generic four seasons instead of the indigenous australian's seasons (colonisation baybee) but also like. wh. why
#genuinely crazy how well this lines up looking at it#(to be very clear this isnt for the entirety of australia. from what i can find this is specifically for the southwest region#which is so fucking cool !! not even trying to force your system on an entire continent and recognising that different areas have different#weather patterns and cycles#really good shit#i want to try and find other region's seasons now tbh)#me.txt

Banksia media
Banksia is a large Australian genus in the Protea Family, and many of the species are found in the winter-rainfall region in the country's southwest. This is the case with Banksia media, which is found along the southern coast of Western Australia. It varies from a ground cover to a small tree, depending on the area where it grows, but mostly it is a rounded bush, putting out its cylindrical clusters of flowers during the winter months. The middle photo shows a young flower head, while the lower photo shows one at maturity. The saw-tooth edges of the leaves are a feature seen in many banksias.
