With that out of the way, something I actually feel like speaking on which is not as contentious on this site but it is legitimately death-threat level elsewhere: I don’t think it’s like. Morally reprehensible to write about the characters as adults or even high schoolers and have them have sex. Like South Park is a show where the characters are constantly in adult situations so why would it be wrong to talk about those situations with them as adults. Like it’s weird if u never write anything with plot yeah but it’s not like. A national fucking emergency. Especially considering the characters are adults in post-covid and half of them have children of their own there. Let’s be real matt and trey had cartman fuck in post covid and y’all are still watching the show so be serious. Like yeah if u were writing that with them still being 9 then I don’t want you within 2,000 yards of me but that’s not what we’re talking abt here.

People always point out the fact that Kyle wasn't into Nichole until he learned that she liked him and use that as a strike against the ship or proof that he didn't "really" like her, which is just...nonsensical? Why wouldn't Kyle develop crush on a new girl who is pretty and nice and has an interest in common with him, especially since he knew that it would have been reciprocated?

to be fair, the south park fandom does tend to make their portrayals of characters very ooc, even with the leeway of them not being That Deep and what's canon being up for debate. like, this is actually part of the reason why i dont like creek bc the way the fandom portrays it tends to make me uncomfortable?? they infantilize tweek for being very obviously neurodivergent and/or neuroatypical, depending on how you wanna look at it, and they make craig out to be a badass with a soft spot for tweek when he's canonically just a nerd with a lot of neurodivergent traits (ie low empathy, trouble with tone delivery, skipping out on things to watch his favorite cartoon everyday at the same time) so like. both portrayals of these characters, while not neccesarily the worst thing, are ooc, especially on tweeks behalf, which sucks bc in canon he's pretty cool, just very anxious and paranoid.

i think it is definetly a lot more fun to write/indulge in characters who you can mostly do whatever you want to since they arent that fleshed out or whatever, speaking from expierence in both writing fics for characters with a lot of depth who are often mischaracterized and writing for characters who you kinda cant mischaractized bc they lack character to begin with, but in the case of south park some people take "you can interpret these things in a bunch of different ways/these characters arent that deep, just have fun" to a level that borders on ableist, which sucks. idk where i was really going with this tbh, i just have a lot of issues with ships in south park and creek is probably like my number 2 issue (right after kym*n which is just. morally wrong on so many levels) just because the fandom has taken them so far from the canon personalities they had, and, while it's gotten a little better in recent years, i still see the same shit where craig is soft only for tweek and babies him when canonically like. tweek doesnt need to be babied, he's very capable of taking care of himself and craig liking tweek isnt a "soft spot" when he is literally just a child who likes watching his racing show everyday at the same time, playing with his guinea pig and being able to flip people off, which isnt even something he does to look cool or be an asshole, it's something literally his entire family does 😭😭

idk, like i said before, i dont hate creek and im fine with it in canon, i do think it's an interesting pairing, i just really hate the fandoms most popular portrayal of it.

"Infantilize one and badass-with-a-soft-spot the other" is like every fandom's favorite ship dynamic I stg. Especially with mlm ships (in my experience) - but yeah I totally understand why that would make you uncomfortable, both on the level of underlying ableism and as a fan of the show.

I have some respect for ooc characterizations (I swear the HP fandom is a self-governing entity at this point, nothing is canon because JKR can suck it) and I get the stress when a fandom is really focused on canon characterizations (like this one) but when the way the fandom goes detracts from the characters as people instead of adding to them, it's a little >.>

I get why Tubbo likes Tweek now though LOL. Although I guess he did before those kinds of parallels so it's just a meant-to-be situation.

Case Closed 15

Over the next two weeks Kym and Robert fall into a rhythm between work and home time.  Saturday afternoon and Robert was working on a case.  “Hey I need to go out and talk to this guy.” Kym gets a pouty look. “You can come with me if you want.  I should probably have backup anyway.  And what better backup than LAPD’s finest.”  Kym smiles and they get ready and head out.

Robert parks and they start walking down the alley.  Robert is explaining that the guy they are going to talk to had worked at the convenience store so he knows a lot of the people in the area.

Suddenly shots are being fired at them.  They both dive behind garages, Kym on the north side of the alley and Robert on the south side.  They both pull out their weapons, peak out and return fire.  More bullets rain towards them, they are coming from a second story window of an old house.  They return more fire. Kym quickly dives back behind the garage and her left hand goes up to her neck.  Robert looks over and can immediately see something is wrong.  Then he sees blood coming out from under her hand. 

He runs across the alley to her.  He drops his gun into his pocket and replaces her hand with his right hand, putting pressure on her neck.  He takes her arm and leads her away and across the alley, hiding behind a different garage incase the occupants of that home come looking for them.  He sits her down and kneels in front of her.  He takes her gun and sets it on the ground next to them.  He pulls out his phone.  

“911, what is your emergency” “I have 10-00, officer down, St. Vincent and 31st Street.  In the alley.”  “Officer down, is there currently an active police situation?” “No ma’am.  Off-duty officer, badge number 5429.  GSW to the neck.” He props the phone up against his neck and puts his hand along Kym’s side feeling her ribs and back. “No exit would.  I need immediate assistance!”

Kym looks at him and her eyes are terrified.  She’s having trouble breathing and keeps coughing up blood.  Robert leans in closer to her, his chest almost touching hers.  He whispers, “You’re going to be ok.  You’re going to be ok.  Help is coming.”   Kym grips his side with her right hand and tears fall from Robert’s eyes. He wonders if this is it; if she is going to die right in front of him.  

“Vehicles have been dispatched.  Sir are you still there?” “Yes I am here,“ he manages to say without sounding like he’s crying. “The shots were fired from a house over on 31st street.  Two story tan house.  Send the police.” Another minute goes by. The blood is leaking out from under his hand and being soaked up by his sleeve. He is just holding her as closely as he can trying to keep her from panicking. Finally he can hear the police sirens.  He just prays the ambulance sirens are right behind.  As he hears them, he gently helps Kym up and into the alley so the driver can see them. The crew pulls up. They have Robert remove his hand, the blood runs out of her neck. He wants to die, he feels so helpless. They are working on her, they go to lay her down and she starts choking as the blood pools in her throat. They immediately sit her back up. They know she’s still bleeding internally so they take off towards the hospital. They have to intibate her, to get a tube down het throat, to help her breathe. Robert is sitting there just watching, he can’t do anything to make it better.  

They get to the hospital and bring her in immediately getting her ready for surgery. They lead him to the waiting room. How’s he supposed to sit here and just wait. He paces back and forth before he realizes he’s scaring the other people. There are a few others who must be waiting for someone to get out of surgery. He gets up and goes outside, he calls Greg.

“Hey. Robert what’s up?” “It’s Kym. She’s been shot.” “What!? Is she ok?” “I don’t know. She’s in surgery now. I uhh….” “Hey, it’s going to be ok. I’m going to come up there. I’ll be there in a few hours. Stay strong. Kym will pull through this, she must be pretty tough to put up with you.” “Ok thanks.” Robert hangs up, but he’s still beside himself. He walks back inside and sits. His head drops into his hands, his knee is bouncing, he just wants to know what’s happening. He didn’t even tell her he loved her before she went into surgery. A million things run through his head.

As he’s sitting there, he hears someone ask for her, they direct him to the waiting area, it’s Derek and as soon as he sees Robert he makes a beeline for him. There was someone with him, probably Kym’s Sergeant. Robert stands, Derek grabs both sides of his jacket and yanks him. “What the Hell was she doing there! What kind of mess did you get her into! Why weren’t you watching her! You son of a bitch, if she dies it’s on you!” He lets go of his collar shoving him backwards. Robert didn’t say anything, he was feeling the exact same way. They go sit on the opposite side of the waiting room. Robert sits back down. He’s thinking about the fact that she could be dying right now and he’s sitting in a worn chair in a generic room and not doing a damn thing to protect her. Tears fall from his eyes and he’s so angry at himself.

About an hour later Greg walks in, “Robert,” he says seeing his friend distraught head in hand. Robert stands and they hug. “Thank you for coming,” he barely gets out. “How is everything going?” “She’s been in surgery for over an hour. I don’t know what’s going on.” They sit and Greg places his hand on Robert’s back. “That’s good, that means they’re saving her. She’s going to be ok.” Robert nods not convinced, but hoping all of that is true. They sit in silence.
