Do you think Tomoe Tsurugi will keep being a main villain/antagonist in future seasons or will she fade into plot irrelevance like she was pre S5 ?
This show is such a mess that it's impossible to predict anything, but if I had to guess, I'd say she'll fade into irrelevance. I'm basing that guess off of her role in season five and the power she now has in the season five fallout.
It seems like she was only brought into season five's villain circle to justify Gabriel's access to high tech gadgets. Outside of that, she does nothing for the plot and she was left with no power.
Tomoe wasn't a driving force in the Anti-Adrienette agenda, it was all on Gabriel, so I don't think she's going to keep that conflict going. Nor do I think she even could because Kagami and Adrien are firmly in love with other people.
Tomoe can't do anything to control Kagami because Felix and Kagami pulled the ring switch gambit, making sure that Kagami was as free as a sentibeing can be. Plus Kagami has a miraculous full-time now, making it near impossible to lock her away.
As far as we know, Tomoe doesn't have a miraculous of her own nor does she have access to alternative sources of magic. She was just acting in a supporting role to Gabriel, so with him gone, she doesn't have the type of power she'd need to have in order to be a meaningful villain unless the show is going to make some serious changes to the types of conflicts it deals with.
All that being said, we have no idea what all Tomoe knows and no idea what her motivation is, so I could be totally wrong. It is incredibly... impressive that both she and Lila have been around for multiple seasons and yet we know almost nothing about either of them going into the season where they're our most likely main villains.
Top tier writing there, guys. Way to drive the hype!
In all seriousness, the season five ending would have made so much more sense if Tomoe was the one that ended up with the butterfly since Tomoe actually knows everything that's going on while Lila - who knows next to nothing about the miraculous as far as we know - only got a couple of pictures and somehow magically figured out everything she needed to know.
The show literally showed us Tomoe figuring out that Gabriel was dying while Lila would have no reason to think that he was in less than perfect health. Tomoe randomly showed up at the mansion to yell at Gabriel after Kagami's akumatization while Lila was never allowed inside the gates. Tomoe is a coconspirator and has apparently been one for years while the only reason Lila knows that Gabriel is the butterfly holder is because she read Nathalie's lips on the train at the end of season four. Even those stupid pictures only got into Lila's hands because the show decided to somewhat retcon the lore and have akumas be able to do things without the butterfly holder's knowledge, something we've never seen before. Not to mention that episode starts with the most awkward firing ever and Gabriel explicitly stating that it would be a bad idea to akumatize Lila:
Lila: You could've warned me! I don't believe this replacement was in our agreement. As the face of the Gabriel brand— Gabriel: You were only the face of my brand in exchange for a mission — to monitor my son's relationships and keep him away from bad company. You failed. My son got close to this Marinette Dupain-Cheng who's been nothing but a terrible influence on him. But you did give me one excellent idea — to create a new media-friendly pairing for my son, which is why Kagami Tsurugi will be the new female face of the Gabriel brand. (opens his Alliance) Perfection itself! All that remains to do is perpetuate this façade until it becomes truth in everyone's eyes. And until jealousy eats away at Marinette Dupain-Cheng... Lila: But... What's to become of me?? Gabriel: You just remain what you are. Nothing. (The intercom camera retracts back in the wall. Lila, filled with betrayal, becomes livid.) Gabriel: Hmm... such intense hate! It's tempting. But entrusting a power to someone who hates me so much wouldn't be a good idea.
Seriously, why did he fire her? It make no sense whatsoever. The show had to do so many stupid things to make Lila getting the butterfly feel kinda sorta maybe earned even though it would have made so much more sense to give it to Tomoe or Nathalie. Gods, I would have been so happy if Nathalie got to be the butterfly. She was such a good villain. Instead, Nathalie has turned into the worst mother of the year and we get the worst liar on the planet as the villain. Yay.

Hi! Do we know which came first: Rebecca telling M:I producers that she won't be doing a 4th movie and then they killed off Ilsa, or producers telling her they't be killing off Ilsa and then Rebecca saying she won't be doing a 4th movie?
We don't but I think if she was told her character is going to be killed off how would she be asked to do another movie after that? This is what Rebecca said:
I need to wrap up, but I wanted to quickly ask you about “Mission Impossible” and your character’s death, which I thought was fitting with the film thematically—the idea that Ethan may lose everyone he loves in this mission and the great cost of it all—I wanted to hear how you felt about it. Was it bittersweet? I think, for me, when they came to me with the offer, and I said I wasn’t interested, that was the result; it was very much what was planned in my schedule. And how it was executed was very much, umm, an interpretation for everyone. I guess I [would] wish my husband would grieve me more than Ethan did [makes a cheeky clacking with her jaw] To be honest, with that said, cheekiness aside, I believe that Chris McQuarrie and Tom [Cruise] make fantastic films and they are always wanting to go in directions that are unexpected, and darker, and interesting. So when the relationship came to a point where—there was not more to be done really with Ilsa, and we have three picture deals in Hollywood, and when they come up, we as actors have the decision to say yes or no to a continued offer; they will make a good, something dramatic out of it, and all I can do is embrace it. I hope people enjoyed it; I know a lot of people didn’t, and I know there are a lot of articles out there— and I’m not the writer. I do my job, and I do it as well as I can, and I serve the character because I think Chris wrote a fantastic character. And I’m so honored and grateful that I got to play her.

and here is what McQ said:
Speaking on an episode of "The Empire Spoiler Special Film Podcast" about bidding farewell to Ilsa, McQuarrie revealed, "It was one of the earliest conversations. We were on the set of 'Top Gun'; we were already talking about it." So the decision was made, along with a solid basis for how it would be handled among the other important deaths in the seventh "Mission: Impossible" film. "We knew that that emotional arc was of a certain emotional tone," explained the director. "Ilsa is a wonderful character, and a character of which I am enormously proud, and Rebecca is an actor of such unmitigated power and presence." Like so many significant character developments in any story, finding a balance, for better or worse, is key. This is what Christopher McQuarrie took on board when mapping out Ilsa's bittersweet farewell. From his perspective, "[the] place you took that character would either make less of her — it would suddenly become frivolous — … or she would just become a romantic interest, and it was never about creating a character who was defined by her love story with Ethan Hunt."
I would think McQ had this idea of Ilsa dying right after the Fallout as an option for the story to go forward. Maybe it wasn't the only idea but it was there. They knew Rebecca had one more picture deal she was contracted to do - Dead Reckoning Part One. They told her there might be an option for her character to join the team and carry on in through the MI7 and Mi8 or for the character to be written off because Mi8 was not in her contract so it was up to her to decide if she wanted to do it or not. I'm sure she was given options knowing her friendly relationship with McQ and Tom. She said she is not interested with the story if Ilsa is going to join the team, so it left the option with her being written off from the franchise. They said many times they work without the script so how exactly she'd be written off neither McQ nor Rebecca knew at the time she was choosing not to continue with MI8. She probably didn't expect it to be so..anticlimactic. This is just my speculation though, I doubt we ever get the full story. Maybe if Rebecca writes the memoir someday:)

It doesn't matter if they finished filming in April. they could still call actors and staff to work in post production and reshoots months later. Again with Henry Cavill, he finished filming justice league back in October 2016 and started filming mission impossible fallout in April 2017 where he was called back by DC for reshoots a month later in May 2017 a full 7 months after they finished filming.
Id be so pissed if I left a job and they needed me for something 7 months later. I be like “no”

WARNING
Date: 28 November 2023
Duration: 53 minutes at 9:29 PM
Depth:
There were 4 minutes remaining on my preset 55 minutes timer when I first opened my eyes during this meditation. The first 51 minutes were spent in a decent depth of mind without any self generated interruptions. It was dark and shapeless but Peaceful.
Then I opened my eyes, checked on the timer and returned to meditate. The first tick sound was perceived in the last 3 minutes of the meditation. It is almost as if Life Energy is freely gathering at a high point and then dropping to the lower point where the Energy lets the meditator know its blessed presence through sounds.
Some of the ticks that I heard in the last 3 minutes of the session felt like warnings. The sound came from a fixed point in the centre of my head as if to say ‘I am the storm’. Source: Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)
Delivery Man : Fate whispers to the warrior.
Ethan Hunt : A storm is coming.
Delivery Man : And the warrior whispers back.
Ethan Hunt : I am the storm.

Submitted for your Consideration:
This may be why Trump was charged without his yet-to-be-indicted co-conspirators. Unlike the other State and Federal criminal cases.
My Speculations-
Special couselJack Smith may have been aiming for this juncture from the start.
If Trump flips in J6 and claims his his co-conspirators gave him bad advice, then the political issue of Presidential Immunity applying to White House advisors would be nullified.
For a variety of reasons this may work better for the Government re Presidential Authoriry.
As well as deal with political fallout as It’s not certain that Trump would be convicted on the J6 charges even without Presidential Immunity.
FIRSTLY, the issue of Presidential Immunity has not been litigated sufficiently to set critical legal precedents for convicting a POTUS [1]
SECONDLY, Trump’s innate passive/aggressiveness, while crippling in ordinary social interactions, does effectively inhibit him from directly ordering a criminal act from subordinates.
He hints at what he wants. He hints and hints and hints. Herds the subordinate in the direction of ‘will no one rid me of this troublesome priest!’ Then, like Henry II, or the Secretary in Mission Impossible, he disavows all knowledge etc.
With the foregoing in mind carefully re-read the transcripts of Trump’s taped conversations with the Georgia Secretary of State about voter fraud. Or with President Zelenskyy about computers secreted in the Ukraine. Does Trump even answer questions effectively or is it all hemming and hawing?
Non-political Legal Outcomes
From the US Government standpoint, not litigating presidential immunity is a plus. Convicting attorneys for knowingly violating federal laws that have been successfully litigated for election interference and election fraud is a plus.
Those attorneys flipping on likely masterminds (possibly Roger Stone) and even members of Congress.
CONVERSELY, convicting Trump in the lower court, then having the conviction overturned in an appellate court setting a Presidential Immunity precedent is a negative. Trump getting off on the presidential immunity appellate decision that COULD apply to White House advisors ensures our country would have future issues with peaceful succession.
With respect to Inciting the Riot:
Right wing armed, self proclaimed militias infesting state capitals has occurred over and over in our nations history.
Unfortunately, it is currently a problem for the individual states to attend to, but most don’t.
Perhaps, though, the hundreds of convictions including seditious conspiracy setting precedents in federal court for the J6 right wingers will result in prosecutions in state courts in future instances of domestic militia terrorist threats.
These are all not the best of outcomes for the Ideals of Justice. But function as practical accomplishments.
DON’T DESPAIR. Convicting private citizen Trump in the Documents case(s) with US and foreign intelligence agents testifying that post-January 20, 2021 foreign assets were arrested and executed. Only possible by betrayal by someone with highest level access to otherwise firewallef top secret documents. Post January 2021: NO IMMUNITY ISSUES! [2] [3]
