For tfp megop, i totally feel like pre-war Orion and Tronus were just. Total dorks with each other. Total dorks. Making corny unfunny jokes with each other, wanting to go see the stars together, buy each other drinks but somewhat forget about them while passionately talking... the sweet shit

Tfp megatron and Optimus are exes (usually), and Megatron is the bitter one who broke up with Orion first, he still loves Optimus of course.

G1 Megatron is a tsundere and refuses to admit he looooves Optimus

Earthspark Megatron still writes very emotional love poems about Optimus

Earthspark Optimus would look through a book labeled "best ways to flirt"

Beast wars megop to me seems like the most likely to stay in the "enemies with benefits" zone, but i see possible emotions regarding how they're a predacon and a maximal there

Sg megop is such a thing for me and i love the idea of Megatron looking at Optimus and saying "I can fix him" & sg Optimus concluding "i can be better than him"

So much physicality in their love language in most versions of megop. They've grappled so many times in battle they wouldn't quite know what to do without each other's touch

These two are soulmates even when megop isn't involved. They always find each other, no matter what.

If we're working with tfa Megop, I'm very specific and highly prefer that it's Optimus who's bold enough to make the first move, it's Optimus who's job is to prove himself as a suitor. Which he does by besting Megatron and holding his own well.

I think so much about adrenaline fueled battle frags that aren't necessarily out of love but definitely lust and mutual agreement and getting the energy out

In general i prefer the dynamic with Optimus being more dominant and sub!Megs, but this isn't set in stone and i love the flex and flow of their dynamic (especially considering shattered glass because if everything is being flipped around why not that too?)

I love them so much it's insane. Closest thing i have to an otp.

Chapter Four: Starscream and Soundwave

Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three,

TW/Tags: mild cussing, training sessions, Sentinel has a bad mindset, Starscream trying to make moves, fails of course, Soundwave is actually trying to keep things appropriate….in his own way at least through training of course, reader is done with sentinels shit

(Like last time no smut but there is angst in this one. I wrote the fight scenes the best I can hopefully it isn’t too confusing)

The next morning. After your small visit with Megatronus the night before. To stay you might soon gain eye bags if this keeps up would be an understatement.

You made your way into the training tower before a meeting with Soundwaves team about the next possible battle.

Taking place later tonight as he always kept these sort of meetings more organized more then Starscream would. Shockwave alongside the same as Soundwave.

As you past by many halls you descided to pass the lunch room. Making your way to your usual training room. Luckily Starscream was in a different meeting at the moments.

And so you got to work with your training. It’s time you continue by yourself now. You pulled out your swords as you looked at your reflection on them.

The scar still as visible as it will be…….so forth….You’re so tired….

You began doing some spinning moves. Your movements fluid and fast. Almost as if gravity was nothing showing your complete controle. Some moves include spinning your swords and you moved yourself.

Tossing your swords mid air as make a finishing blow on a dummy and catching your swords with perfection. Well almost in your opinion. You even stared to think about what Megatronus told you last night before departing as ou still kept your focus.

-Flashback-

“I’m afraid our courtship will have to pause for tomorrow sweetspark. I and a few of the other primes will be patrolling on the surface all day due to the other seekers coming from their shift and telling of Quintissons activity.”

He spoke to you in his room.

”So I wont be able to see you tomorrow?” You gently held his larger cervo as you looked up at him.

“Yes…Will you be alright while I’m away?” He looked down at you as he kneeled down. His optics soft towards you. You nodded and softly sighed as you pulled his cervo a bit closer to you. ���I shall wait and I’ll be fine Megatronus…”

You gave him an encouraging nod as you sighed and looked out the window. “I shall take you out like last time.” And so he did.

-End Of Flashback-

As you conintue, many hours having gone by and is already past noon. You don’t hear the doors openeing over your grunts as you make one large finishing move and land on your knee and pede. (I was watching Star Wars while writing this lol).

Once you stood up. Noticing your wrist hurting a little. You must’ve pulled something well making a certain move. You let out a sigh as you close your optics. But at the corner of your optic you thought you saw something. And so when you glanced behind you.

Seeing Soundwave standing with his cervos behind his bac…Uh oh. That isnt good.

You also took note he didn’t have any cassettes in his chest as he usually does. You’d then put your swords back into your sword handles on each side of your hip as you faced him as you then spoke.

“Soundwave. What brings you here sir?”

He stays still for a moment before speaking as he walked closer to you. Now his frame a little closer to yours as he looked down at you. “Have you eaten. Y/N?”

Crap-

“Of course Soundwave. Have you?” You lied through your teeth. Hoping he doesn’t use his waves to sense that you’re lying. Luckily he doesn’t seem to try using it as he lifts his head and looked around.

“I have. I and the Cassettes have finished our meals and they’re currently helping Shockwave with his experients for a stronger weapon as per usual.”

His cervos left from behind his back to rest on his sides as he looked back down at you. You just nod and bow your head. “I have been training for hours. I should go for some lunch after our meeting in an hour?”

You past him about to leave until his cervo grabbed your arm. Making you stop as you looked at him. “Before our meeting….How a bit of training?”

His helm tilting a bit as he glanced at you under his visors. You only nod as you glanced at him as well.

You then put your swords down before returning to your spot. Placing your pede back as he does the same. You’d then put your guard up, well more. As he then soon attacked. Laying in the first punch against you.

Causing you to move your upper body back to dodge the attack. Then in a fast movement with his cervo still close to you. You grabbed his arm with both cervos as your chest was close to his cervo for a second. You’d then turn.

His frame behind yours but your arms moving along as his arm was still in the same place for a whole second.

Then pushing his arm against your shoulder, you lifted him up using your body force as he’s lifted into the air.

But he was stronger. Being quick to move midair. Moving his legs forward to land on the floor before him as his arm turned (I mean they are robots.) the cervo grabbing an arm as his other cervo comes and grabs your other arm.

He pulls you every close by your arms, your frame fully against his as your legs past his hips for a moment.

He then roughly pushes you into the floor. Creating a very heavy pressure into and against your back strut. Only for your legs to soon both kick him up over you making him fall to his back.

You were fast to use your strength to lift your upper body up by kicking against the floor. Soon standing on your cervos.

You leg then going down fast to kick him down deeper into the floor. But he too was fast you turn and roll to his stomach as use his arms to support him. Even faster on his knee and grabbed your leg. Pulling you closer and once your close he punches your stomach down. Causing you to groan.

He’d then grab at the top of your chest plate as he soon is on his pedes and lifted you up. His cervo only letting go for a moment as his kicked you further back. Although you fell on your bac flying back a bit, you’d soon end up pushing back so you’re on your cervos and back on your pedes.

Facing Soundwave as he ran at you with his movements show determination. You’d soon grab his wrists. Lifting your leg showing your flexibility.

Your pede kicking him in the chin. Whe he was back for a moment. you grabbed his shoulders and hit your helm against his as he opened his mouth mask. He groaned as he showed a bit of a angry expression just by his intake and dermas.

You’d then throw a few punches and blows against his frame even as he tried to block a few. You both were going to be here for a good while.

You both continued for a good while. A Long while. You took note he avoided your face as you kept going toawrds his waits and shoulders. Both of you putting in pretty good hits into eachother. You both will defiently be sore in the morning.

The other seekers are either at home until the meeting or the others are already in a meeting with either Shockwave or Starscream.

You both continued until Rumble and Frenzy came in. Speaking as they walk in on you two still training.

He was able to pin you down against him. His back against the floor as he laid with his legs around your waist. His arm over your neck keeps you locked against him as your legs squirmed around to try to get away.

His other arm around your toros above keeps your arms stuck to your side. You struggled as you tried to break free from his grasp. You try your best to get out.

But your were so out of stamina and against your better judgement. “I yield.”

Soundwave then lets you go. Rumble and Frenzy standing there by the door. frenzy with his cervo on his hip and Rumble sighing as they waited.

You were able to get up without pressing against him. He soon sits up and looks at the two minicons. “Time.”

”Just 20 minutes until the next meeting Soundwave.” Rumble said as he stays in one spot. Frenzy went to your swords to look at them. You’d hold the side of your waist as you stood up. Soundwave standing up as well as his cervo gently held his shoulder.

He then looked at you as he spoke. His mouth mask closed once more.

“Now we will commence with our meeting for the day. Will you be able to keep posture for another hour?”

He gestured to you as Rumble gently pulled Frenzy from your swords and held frenzys hand as the two looked at you bot.

You gave him a nod still standing straighter. “I’ll be fine Soundwave.” He then nodded and started walking to the door. Now closer to Frenzy and Rumble as they both looked up at him. “See you in 10.”

He walks out as the two waved to you as they both left as well. You waving back saying your good byes for now. As you stand there, you looked down. Training with him was…certainly interesting. You can admit that at least. As you thought more and more. He was…a bit more gentle with you than the last time you fought him even before.

Something Starscream did just yesterday….You shake your head. You cant be thinking of these things with the two. You are being courted by one of the Primes.

One of the most highest honors someone could ever have. You cant let old feelings start rushing out.

You walked to your swords. Picking them up and lookin at your reflection in them once more as you narrowed your optics. You have a new duty with your work.

You cant be waiting for anyone else but the one you have chosen…….chosen first who is Megatronus…Right?

As you made your way to the meeting room in the higher levels of the building. Parts of your body was a bit in pain. But not distracting enough for you to speak and walk as you past a few guards who are leaving from the latest meeting that ended.

As you made it to the room Soundwave was already there.

He was getting a presentation ready for the meeting with the help of Laserbeak, Rumble, and Frenzy. Ravage was already in Soundwaves chair waiting as her pas rested on the table.

You’d then took a seat close to Soundwaves by just a couple seats. Something gestured by Ravage when she noticed you come in.

As you sat down. Slowly until the minutes got closer to the meeting more and more guards came in. Eventually Starscream came in and took a seat next to you.

Sitting closer to where ravage was as he had his usual smirk on his dermas.

As you both sat down you noticed by the corner of your eye that Starscream was glancing down at you as he rested one cervo on the table. And the other was on his thigh.

The other being the one closest to you. And just like that…The meeting has started.

As Soundwave spoke and sat in his chair with ravage on his lap like a kitten. Everyone listened with purpose. Giving him their full attention. You included as he goes over his plan for a possible next battle to fight the Quintessons.

Both of your cervos on your lap as your optics stared at Soundwave. His helm turning every now and then as he spoke.

Eventualy the meeting soon lasts over an hour. You can hear Starscream silently make a sound close to a huff as he looked over some data pads he had in front of him. His red optics narrowed as he had a frown on his dermas.

You you continue to look at Soundwave. You’d then feel a cervo on top of your cervo, it being a bit larger then yours. When you glanced down. Not moving your helm much. You soon realized it’s Starscreams. When you looked at him he was staring down at you. A little smirk at the corner at his lips as he then looked back down at the data pad.

You’d just look back at Soundwave. Not knowing that he noticed the moment.

Starscreams cervo stays there for a good amount of time. Gently squeezing every now and then..Is this is way of flirting???

It stays like this for a good while until it’s been almost 2 hours. The meeting was finally over. Everyone making a vote on weapons and such as so forth. From there everyone stands up. You included. You could hear a faint huff as Starscream was fast to move his cervo from yours as he looked at a few other data pads. You got up and walked out.

Only now realizing you haven’t eaten lunch.

You’d continue you path to the lunch room as the rest went home and other guarded the tower. You’d make it to the room and grab some lunch. That’s when Starscream comes in. He’d walk in and sit next to you as you ate some energon.

Being quiet for a moment before speaking.

“You know. I would appreciate it you were to return my affections…..Sweetspark…”

You side eye him as you ate your energon before speaking. “Thought you said to wait…right?” Starscream scoffed.

”Doesn’t mean I cant show you my affections sweetspark.” His digits gently holding your chin to make you look at him.

“Starscream-“

”I could care less of what Soundwave said. I make choices based off my Own. Understood?” You have stood up as you stared down at Starscream. You’d then start taking steps to the door until Starscream stood up grabbing your cervo. “You really wish to try this dance….Y/N?”

His words were a bit sinister. “Yes.”

You pulled your cervo away and face him. “Focus on being a superior and I’ll go do my job.” You soon walk away, he just watches you as you opened the door and then closed it being you. Wouldn’t be any better if you were to slam the door.

You continue to walk in the halls. Making your way to the front doors being done today. But as soon as you got past one of the doors to a cleaning closet. Frenzy has pulled you in….He a strong bot.

He’d then give you a data pad. “Soundwave said to meet him in the meeting room.” He then runs off with his little legs.

You’d sigh and make your way to the meeting room. From there as ou walked into the room. Sentinel was in there with him. The two seemed to be speaking to each other about the primes and such. When Soundwave noticed you were there. He nodded to Sentinel. Him doing the same as Soundwave walks past you.

You’d walk closer as Sentinel start down at Soundwaves spot. “YN, please. Sit.”

And so you do. When you first saw him you immediately remembered yesterday. When he pulled you into a kiss before Zeta opened his door….

What is he up to?

”I’m sure you’ve been wondering about yesterday and the meaning of me giving you that……Special kiss? Well you see my dear.” For a moment fore you just gave him a blank expression until his cervo held your chin as he just stared down at you.

”I believe it’s time Zeta and the other primes shouldn’t be so calm to believe that they’re superior to descide who thay may take as a Conjunx….” His helm leaning closer to yours as he spoke once more in a whisper.

“Soundly you agree with your special partner….say…Megatronus?..”

Your optics widened. “How.” Your voice was low and is more in a whisper.

”You two aren’t exactly as sneaky as you both like to believe to be. He said in his casual tone with a grin on his smile. Leaning back a sits straight on the chair. Both of his arms on the arms of the chair. His helm only barely turned looking towards you as only his optics look toawrds you.

”You aren’t the only one being used.” You head tilted up for only a moment.

”Zeta. The big man himself.” His cervos then gestured to himself as he grinned. “Trying to court me of all bots.” He chuckled. But that smile soon gone as he looked down.

”That kiss is to teach him a lession. Good thing I timed that perfectly…At first I thought why not you know. Cause well- why not?” He spoke as he then stood up and walked slowly to behind your chair. “But when I found out that giant Brute was keeping a special little bot. You. Courting you and all. Oh boy…did that open my eyes.”

He sets his cervos on your shoulders as you glanced behind you a bit.

”Though I wont lie. I can see why he’s so intrigued by you…” He’d then lean his held down next to you. Your optics side eyeing you as he spoke once more. In a whisper again.

”Tell me. Do you enjoy being used?”

You tried to find the words. Not sure what you can say right or what will be wrong. So..you only looked down as the table as his stays there.

Your intake opening a little bit before closing a few times. Sentinels optics staring down at you. Going from looking at your dermas to back to your optics. You didn’t look at him.

He had a frown on his dermas as he stands straight again. “After the War. We will handle this…and.” He had grabbed your cervos. Gently pulling you up to stand as he’s now in front of you.

“We shall no longer be used for such power. If you help me against the primes. I can promise you a better life. By my side.” His cervos now on your waist. He smiled down at you as you placed your cervos on his arms as you felt his chest against his.

”Sentinel-”

“Just give it some time. My door is always open once you accept my offer.”

Those last words he said with a bit more purpose. His cervo is then at your chin. His digits gently holding it. “I shall be waiting so patiently for you…Sweetspark.” You’d just stare at him. Your face unsure as he stared down with blue optics.

One of his cervos then grabbing yours and kissed the back of your cervo. His optics never leaving yours.

He’d then let out a small chuckle and finally let you go. “Just remember which Sid you are one Sweetspark. Because I’m not a bot.” He leaned close. “Who gives second chances…” You both stared at each other. Both expressionless as your optics stare narrowed. “…You’re dismissed.”

Oh man this one made me nervous but I think I was able to nail it with writing for Soundwave, Starscream, and a bit of Sentinel. Don’t worry Megatronus will be back for the next chapter. And Shockwave will have a bit more of a spotlight for the intertest with the reader. The reader is really going through it. So I had to have a bit of a think about this one because in my personal view of Cybertronians sexuality isn’t as easily defined as it is for humans for various reasons but I’ll put down what I think they’d be in human terms since it’s an interesting thought experiment. I also went literal on the BDSM headcanon part since this’ll be such a big post

Megatron - Gay

He’s a dom top, he would be a switch in the top/bottom sense but he has some weird hang ups because of the gladiator pits, so connects submissions to loosing and all the consequences that come with that. It would take him a while to get through all that but he’s not the kinda guy to do deep introspection

He prefers holding his partners down rather than any sort of bondage, he also prefers partners that ‘put up a fight’ so to speak. He thinks dominance is something that should be earned so he needs to have a partner who could at least stand up to him

He’s kinda weird about interface in general

Soundwave - Demisexual

He’s a switch but likes to fight to determine the positions. These fights can be actual physical fights but he usually only does that with Megatron (it’s a bit more playful with other partners)

He’s a fan of bondage and will usually use his data cables to hold his partner. He’s not so much into being tied up himself though, it makes him feel trapped

He’s not really much of a sadist of masochist but doesn’t mind being a bit rough here and there

Starscream - Gay

Dom bottom, he likes things his way. That’s it

He’s not big on bondage, he’s never enjoyed being held or tied down but doesn’t mind tying his partner up on the odd occasion

Starscreams definitely got a slight sadistic streak, usually in small ways like a small pinch or a corrective tap with a cane. He can be a little bit of a masochist but there’d need to be a massive amount of trust before he’d even consider it, and he’s not a particularly trusting bot so he doesn’t indulge it often

Shockwave - Pan

Shockwaves a switch and bottom I’d say, but he has a lot of opinions on what’s going on and how things are done either way

He likes bondage for certain scenes it just depends on what he’s experimenting with that week, he’s got some nice equipment for it though everything’s very sturdy

He’s a bit of a sadist and masochist in the sense he he likes seeing how far a frame can be pushed and he finds the different reactions different bots have fascinating

Knockout - Gay

He’s a dom switch and just a little bit bossy in bed in general

He likes bondage but more in an artistic sense, so he more does it for aesthetic purposes rather than to actually restrain his partner. He has equipment that’s complement near any frame and paint job

He can be a bit of sadist but only to a small degree, he does enough repairs in his day job after all. He’s not a masochist in the slightest he’d barely tolerate his paint getting scuffed let alone any actual scratches

Breakdown - Bi

He’s a switch all around and is pretty go with the flow when it comes to interface in general

He’s so-so on bondage he’d never go out of his way to do it but he’s happy to discuss it with a partner

Breakdowns neither a sadist or masochist, he’s there for a good time and pain doesn’t constitute a good time to him (He’s also aware that he’s a big strong guy so even when he’s trying to be gentle that could still be a bit heavy handed for some)

He’s a switch top but would probably fall more under the service top category he enjoys looking after his partners

Dreadwings not big into bondage, flight frames tend to get claustrophobic easily and being tied up exacerbates that. He doesn’t do bondage on partners either just because he can’t get his head around it being enjoyable

He’s not really a sadist or masochist he thinks violence of any kind should be kept to battle (not that he’s judgmental towards bots who are into it it’s just not his thing)

Airachnids a dom top and a mean one at that, she has high expectations of her partners and is very quick to correct mistakes

She a big fan of bondage and the kind she does is very artful. Usually its suspension bondage with the ropes tied in a very elegant manner that hides how sturdy they are

I think she’d definitely be a sadist, you’ve got to correct unruly subs one way or another. I’m genuinely not sure if she’d be a masochist or not, probably not but there’s always the possibility

Stars//cream's tendency to initially want to depower Megatron or always wanting to join the Decepticon movement with the intent on ruling it has always been interesting to me because Star//scream was an incredibly privileged mech in most iterations, whereas Megatron was not.

His opinions on Megatron are often very strange when he tends to view him as someone who's dumb, can be fooled easily, or is just some sort of brute. And considering Megatron was a slave, and ex-gladiator, Stars//cream's tendency to assume and tie Megatron to very stereotypical, offensive traits always stood out to me and isn't usually discussed.

He doesn't really respect Megatron as a leader, understandably, and a lot of it is tied to the fact that he feels entitled to have what Megatron has.

Ig it's just another version of in-canon/in-text discrimination, but even as the Leader of the Decepticons, Stars//cream tends to have this one version of Megatron where he's just incapable of doing everything, and where it's Starscream's right to rule. He's entitled to take things from Megatron because he doesn't believe he deserves it.

That "you were a former slave who probably has no idea what he's doing, and I've actually ruled something before so everything you created i'm entitled to" is really interesting and should be explored more.

Because it does come from a place of Star//scream thinking he's better at doing things than Megatron, most likely because of their backgrounds. Star//scream ruled Vos while Megatron was digging in the ground and fighting for his life in the arena.

And I'm sure Megatron knows that his second-in-command feels this way about him. He literally calls him out on it often.

I also think this is a huge part of why Soundwave doesn't respect Star//scream as much. One because Soundwave also came from a place of privilege, in Prime at least, and knows to not judge someone based on their station. And two, he knows how hard Megatron fought to established what he's done, and seeing his second in command act like he's incompetent probably annoys Soundwave.

Just food for thought.

And lemme just add that no, this doesn't excuse Megatron from abusing Star//scream.

As per usual, I was talking to a client this week about autistic cognitive processing and I felt the sand shifting under my feet. So I come here to you Tumblr to do my own autistic cognitive processing in the hopes of better serving myself and my clients.

I have known for a long time that I can't process my thoughts and emotions verbally. This is what sometimes leads to me getting frustrated, "stuck," and increasingly pressurized towards my meltdown threshhold when I'm trying to express a half-formed thought or need. This is why I often choose to process my cognition in writing. It allows me to sift about in the sands of my mind, sliding to and fro, checking and rechecking, until I find what I need.

There is something to the capacity to shape my communication more freely and without the preesure that I put myself under which often leads to stammering, stuttering, aphasia, confusion, and my inability to hold something as ephemeral as language in my head long enough to manipulate it like clay with my hands. Words are not my brain's mother tongue in the first place, and it can be a welcome relief to truly take the slowed pace I need to translate my thoughts into a language others will understand.

Some others. I am well aware of who I learned my translation process from and of how that has made my translations inaccessible to some of the very people who share my brain.

The thing is, to learn to speak at all when your brain processes this slowly takes enormous effort. To learn to CHANGE your speech is back breaking. I have been trying for fifteen years.

Autistic cognitive processing pace and the disabling ramifications aren't things we talk about often. It's one reason some of us become obsessed with having back up plan upon back up plan (because we literally cannot think fast enough to keep up with the demands of our lives). It's one of the fastest paths to burnouts and meltdowns. It's part of why we are unable to keep up with the demands of social interactions, especially in large groups (too many social cues moving too quickly to be processed at pace and we drop the ball in the moment even if we realize later).

Because the pace of our cognition is chronically slowed, we are chronically disabled socially, emotionally, cognitively, etc, and we are forced to spend an incredible amount of mental and physical energy either compensating for that, recovering from it, or both. That is energy and resources neurotypical people get to spend on other things in their lives, maybe a project or hobby, a relationship, hell, just relaxing.

There can be upsides to it. This slowed cognition seems to be related to how the process of bottom-up analysis functions during cognitive processes in Autistic folks' brains. That bottom-up analysis is a really interesting cognitive processing style that seems to be responsible for increased pattern recognition! So a lot of how we're able to analyze, learn, understand, mimic, etc based on pattern recognition is thanks to this processing style. It helps us take in a holisticly detail oriented view of the things we look at, which can (with support) make us great researchers, investigative journalists, and inventers.

But while the upsides have become more discussed as we've become more willing to see Autism itself as neutral (a very good thing in my opinion), we sometimes forget the other side of the coin.

I often find myself trying to brute force my way through my processing pace. It always ends badly. And that's really the trouble. I can talk most of the time, but I can talk A LOT faster than I can process my thoughts. So most of the time my words are just. Garbage. Sounds. If you ask my to speak to you, you are asking me to fill up soundwaves because realistically my brain moves at about 25% of the speed of the conversation.

It's why as a clinician I have to be so incredibly careful what I do and say and how I hear my clients because I *truly* am processing what the tell me at auch a significant delay. It can sometimes be days later when the information truly settles into place.

The same is obviously true in my personal life! It can take me days or even weeks to figure out what a single thought or feeling means in the context of my own life because I have to process that often entirely alone or just on paper. Not because no on one WOULD help me I have people in my life who would be willing but because by the time talking to someone would be any help, I would have basically figured it out enough to just say it out loud and I don't really need their help by then. There are rare exceptions to this when I do definitely seek help but it can be so frustrating to be trapped, voiceless, in your own emotions.

I don't have a framework for this, only the suggestion to embrace the slowness. I have found that when you are not constantly fighting against it all the time, it feels a little more like home, a little more like it's working FOR your instead of AGAINST you.

...You will say everytime someone asks how you can be near him, how can you even talk to him or be near without killing you with a single movement of his body or a missile of his arsenal (he wouldn't waste such good projectile on a human you would say but you stop from do so), how he let's you be near but not enough to touch him directly, most of the time there is a glimpse of fear in their whole demeanor when the question pops up again.

"How can you? That thing is a decepticon"

"He is, indeed, one, but he goes on his own pace", you correct them, trying to be as calm as possible but without the patience to explain your friend's political and personal beliefs, there is enough in you to at least make them remember that Soundwave is s sentient as them, if not more in the way he just likes to be around silence or the sound of nature.

You could even say sensitive, always sensing something is wrong with his environment the second it happens or when your mind is full of negativeness, being gentle enough to at least look at you before poking your side with one digit, because he cares, shout it to their face, 'Wave doesn't care for them and their opinion but you take it personal when they keep on referring to him like that, but no one will believe you when the morning news always use a video of him just looking impassible at a man begging for his life before being exterminated, it's bad, you know, Soundwave knows and his cassettes only look bored when they use the video for the umpteenth time in one day to promote the anti cybertronian propaganda of a new politic with many other Decepticons as if humans were different or better.

It's understandable, really, they are worried for you, for your well being, you can still remember the way you family looked when a military vehicle left you in front of your house after two days of absence, that was after you first found him and his whole group and while the experience was stressing enough to make you puke at the moment it didn't stop you from searching for that same thrill, it doesn't work at first, obviously, you have asked the people that had any contact with transformers in general before and they just go: "That's the shady one, his voice still gives me the creeps when I remember it"

You know his name is Soundwave, because the news show other Decepticons calling him like that, you know he doesn't talk much and that he hardly express any emotion, like a super spy, when you finally meet him you tell him so and he doesn't say anything, doesn't even move in reality, his cassettes, the ones that look alike, laughed hard while saying you better be careful.

Careful with what? It's still a mystery for you when he just passed by your side, his visor on you, not sure if he is looking at you to begin with, almost ignoring your presence.

It's a work in progress, you keep saying when someone asks again why you are going to him, what do you get from it, now you are at Soundwave's pedes, he is looming above you, also waiting for your answer with hardly covered interest, there is a little movement of his helm that has your friend running away, it doesn't matter, really, not when Soundwave is looking at you from the little space down his visor, red optics concentrated in your form, glowing a little more than usual, you smile and maybe that's too much because he looks to the other side as it was nothing to begin with when he starts to walk away in another direction.

Gentle and slow steps, that's how you get where you are, waiting less than a few minutes to have him stop and look at you over his shoulder armor, he lowers his whole frame to put his servo out for you to get up with him, you can hear Laserbeak shout from Soundwave's chest deck to clean your shoes before even think of putting such dirty things on Soundwave, you do as told while he waits for you with the same patience you give, granting you all the time to get comfortably on your place.

Slow and short steps, enough to have him finally say your name in that flat, supposed emotionless voice of his when he recognizes you from afar, slow steps, when he gets to look out for you when things seem to be too loud, too much, and you let him enter your thoughts, think of silence, think with nothing in mind, to be calm even if it gets to the point of hurting you, not worse than a migraine but is worth it when he can have a moment of silence and his EM field is less stressed, gentle steps, in the way he doesn't even move or try to get away when your hand makes contact with his armor, feeling how warm it really is and how the pulse of his spark is more noticeable with how near you are to his chest, he could have stopped you, but he is only looking at you in silence before looking the other way, little steps, that lead you to see him without his mouthpiece, it's the middle of the night and you don't know how to respond to him, he isn't moving, only his optics glow in the night behind his visor, funny thing how you once believed he didn't have optics to begin with, or even a mouth, he is waiting, expecting something from your part, you only say how handsome he is and that's enough to hear his cooling fans activating in the middle of the night, gentle servo taking your hand while he plays your voice and words back at you, the light of his optics making your eyes ache and his apparent soft lips with such a contrast while his derma moves along with your own words.

It's slow but also fast, you aren't sure when this escalated when you feel warm inside, how warm everything feels, happiness that blooms and pools on your lower belly while giving his digits a delicate caresses, you aren't sure if what you are doing is correct when he let's you put your whole body on the side of his, there is almost no line to think again when you go from exploring touches to gathering your things in a backpack, the gossip goes on quickly and half the neighborhood is looking from their supposed secure houses to the military reconnaissance vehicle that is still proudly showing a decepticon badge, waiting for you outside of your home while your family assures how you can return any time you want after their attempts to stop you, to put some sense on what you are about to do, fail miserably, some of them cry as they will never see you again, and maybe that's true, maybe you'll become a spooky story for the kids around when they get older, never get in contact with a transformer, because you'll never come back.

You only hear the cries of some when the door is finally closed, tinted glass only letting you see outside, no one can see inside, someone has called the police and Soundwave's is fast to get out of there, being polite enough to let you say goodbye to your kin before they objected to his mere presence around you, he'll help you to communicate with them later, he assures you the things some of them said are product of the sadness, the idea of not seeing you as often as before.

"You don't have to explain what they said, Wave, if they want to apologize so be it" you place a hand over the radio, smiling above your own tears, "if not, I'm fine with it anyway"

It's a slow and difficult pace, one you keep on, it's hard to be isolated from basic necessities out in the wild, Soundwave isn't as wanted as before after he almost gave his spark to save the world, but there are dangerous people that have all the rights to be angry at him, he told you so, and with this kind of job he got he is always in movement, one place after the other, it takes time but you get on it without much care, it's stressful, of course, but is worthy when he gets back home, whatever little camp you are now, he keeps a hard exterior around his human colleagues even when they are happy around him, maybe a little freaked out, but you smile reassuring them and saying thank you for getting your boyfriend back home in one piece, the cassettes scoff or laugh, some say it's the other way around, Soundwave doesn't say a thing before getting inside and waiting for you to reach him.

After so many years, he prefers the affection to be behind secure and thicker walls, not because he is embarrassed but for the fact your head now has a price.

"We can think about that another time" he knows that moment for you two to talk about will never come, you'll evade it, change the subject at every chance he gets to even think about it, "let's just think about the present, right here, right now, Wave" and while you kiss his now unprotected intake with tender affection he let's you lead on this human mating ritual he has already taken on his life like it's normal, he isn't going to talk to you about how he is never going to let any danger be near you or exterminating it before it can even appear either, and also waiting, calculating, for the moment you are ready to go for the next step with him as his spark chamber tries to open while he fights the impulses back, he hopes it comes soon.

Could I get Team Prime's reaction to discovering that the Decepticons ALSO have a group of three human teenagers, but instead of being the human's guardians, the Decepticons trained them to hate Optimus, and carry out evil plans?

The humans each have a partner, too. One is Starscream's partner, one is Soundwave's and one is Knockout's.

They're like the evil version of the three kids.

- He would be upset about it as he tries to see the best in humanity.

- He would refuse to fight them and would instead find other ways, like moving them out of the way.

- The others notice he’s even more serious than usual after the discovery.

Ratchet

- He’s not surprised that humans could be evil.

- He often calls them short-sighted, pointing out that Megatron will betray them the second it becomes useful.

- He’s a little crankier than usual, but it’s hard to notice.

Arcee

- She isn’t surprised, but is angry.

- She’s more gentle with them than the other Decepticons, but still a bit rough with them.

- She becomes angry and admittedly forms a lower opinion of humanity.

Bumblebee

- He is upset that humans could choose to do that as he views most as innocent.

- He avoids fighting them.

- During a drive, he talks to Raf about it.

Bulkhead

- He’s surprised.

- He tries to reason with the humans.

- He keeps insisting that there is a way to convince them it’s a bad idea.

Wheeljack

- He’s not overly surprised as he is still getting used to humans so maybe it’s normal.

- He’s not very gentle in fights.

- He enjoys trash-talking about those guys with Miko.

Smokescreen

- He is surprised by it.

- He tries tricking the humans but not actively hurting them (For example, he’ll make them think something they need is the other way.).

- He talks to Jack about it.

Ultra Magnus

- He frowns at the news, but it’s hard to gauge his reaction.

- He uses strategy to stop but not hurt the humans as he’s still following Autobot rules.

- He asks Optimus about it as he is surprised by it.

Jack

- He is shocked that humans could side with the Decepticons.

- He tries to reason with them.

- He’s quiet after the discovery.

Miko

- She’s surprised.

- She argues that since she’s human like them, she can participate in fighting them.

- She sees them as just another member of the Decepticons.

Raf

- He’s saddened at the news.

- As he doesn’t fight normally, he has no issues with battling them intellectually.

- He questions if they were brainwashed somehow.

Like I said in this post, I do have some ideas with rapper!Reader. Here's one of them.

Stereos and Truck Horns

A peculiar music shop lays at the far edge of Jasper's city limits called "Newsground Jam". No one knew when it been fully established but the place is known for various music and odd customers. Although the giant robots that lurk in Nevada better watch out. The shop owner has ways of handling troublemakers. And will the damn truck stop being nosy!

Optimus Prime is Reader's guardian since he accidentally got into a fight with the Decepticons when they were in the vicinity. The guy feels guilty about putting them on the enemy's radar hence the arrangement. He and Reader are gonna clash for a bit at the start due to difference in opinion.

They don't really care about the Autobot/ Decepticon civil war. All Reader wants to do is enjoy life and make an earnest living. Newsground Jam is neutral ground so either side can visit if they don't cause trouble. You can say it wasn't viewed positively by Team Prime but these are the rules.

This leads to all sorts of shenanigans especially when Reader's "crew" tend to pop up at random times. Friendly oddballs such as basketball loving old school robots, pint sized maddening mercenaries, whacky rappers and even dangerous soul stealing killers. Every visit to Newsground Jam is guaranteed to be quite an experience.

(Reader's gender is preferred gender or neutral to suit preferences. They become close to Optimus but you guys can interpret their bond as whatever. Reader is relatively the same age as the Autobot leader, basically an adult.)

Here's what to expect:

Reader is a bundle of sass done with everyone's shit. Try to baby them and expect to be bitten in return. Danger isn't anything new to them. Optimus has difficulty understanding that.

Cybertronians fully experience humans being space orcs. It's absolutely terrifying especially when one of them can become an eldritch horror through rap music. Humans are crazy in their own ways.

Beep boops is a cheat sheet to speaking Cybertronian. Ratchet doesn't understand how this little blue haired human is so fluent in it. Boyfriend just wants to rap and has no clue why the Autobots are fixated by his comfort language.

Soundwave constantly visits as he is a little too invested in Reader. Convict and a few others aren't willing to share their rapper like usual. Reader just wants to manage their music shop than deal with this nonsense.

A blanket burrito war between an Autobot Leader and a completely done rapper ensues. Pure hypocrisy since both suck at taking care of themselves. Team Prime are both surprised, relieved and scared as this goes on.

Do NOT attempt to intimidate or piss off Reader. Megatron learns that the hard way when the "puny fleshie" turns into an a reality bending eldritch clown monster and proceeds to beat the shit out of him. They are pure neutral chaos who just wants a break.

Reader curses an alien god into submission, Vehicons follow them like lost ducklings and Breakdown gets put into forced medical bed rest at Newsground Jam. Everyone is so confused about the weirdness this human carries everywhere. There's a betting pool on whether Reader's an eldritch god or not.

So, in an alternative situation where the legendary! High command were not only sent to Tfp, but also most dimensions, megatron would disapprove his counterparts (and possibly the other soundwaves)?

Megatron would have opinions on a lot of his counterparts and quite a few of them would be potentially negative negative as would quite a bit of High Command. He'd also be deeply perplexed by their strangely close relationships with Optimus Prime. Or some of their genuine obsessions with him. And then the usual hostile relationships with Starscream as well.

That's his second in command. Thank you. Why would you keep someone in that position if they are (genuinely) trying to assassinate you? And why would you not listen to them? Do they not understand the point of advisors?

SG Megatron and he would probably be alright and Earthspark he'd be able to handle.

TFP, G1, Cyberverse, IDW2 are instantly on his shit list.

IDW1 would bring up conflicting feelings depending on timeline point.

WFC Trilogy and him would have a fraught but probably empathetic relationship, though his choice in the middle part of the trilogy would absolutely horrify him.

TFA Megatron would remind him of Megazarak and he'd have feelings about that. As would Unicron Trilogy Megatron.

Megatron can't dislike a Soundwave. All Soundwaves are great is a statement that seems obvious to him. He'd probably ask some of them about their relationship with his counterparts and be harsh/question their opinions on his counterparts decisions.

SG Soundwave is very bright and very odd to him but not bad. Cyberverse Soundwave is particularly odd because he feels so young and closer to Megatron's age rather than Soundwave, whom he always viewed as older and wiser.

L!Soundwave on the other hand would immediately realize he is surrounded by fucking children. He is the oldest thing alive in this room and would like his cat-wife or one of the music boyfriends to get him out of this situation immediately. He'd probably be able to get on alright with most of his counterparts but would feel very old, especially around Cyberverse, and need a break from all the socializing.

I LIKE IT A LOT i just find it comforting and interesting. i'm not one to ship characters intensely and i don't get much gratification from romantic things, but something about them feels nice to me. autistic4autistic relationship forreal........

they're both similar in that they are introverted, very smart and capable, hard-working and devoted, and usually known to be cold and creepy. but they aren't the same.

I am of the headcanon that they are both autistic (by human standards, at least) and also not predisposed to typical displays of romance. I am not fully against more tender affectionate wavewaves in a more traditional sense but I feel like it's easy to over-do it and end up with them being OOC.

various takes:

an aromantic partnership built on mutual respect for each others capabilities and devotion to the decepticon cause. they have an admiration and appreciation for each other, but are close partners for the sake of collaboration and reaching shared goals. they keep each other in check. (+ maybe there's also a domestic aspect to it. the casual intimacy of living together, sharing personal space and dividing chores.)

or a relationship where literally no one else can even tell they're together. they're often seen together but no one really bats an eye. because their idea of affection...doesn't look like typical affection. to others it just looks like they're discussing technical shit and swapping information for work purposes, when really that's just their idea of a fun conversation. they're not really trying to hide it. in fact, if you knew this was how they flirt, you'd say they're being too overt.

or the idea of them babysitting each others "kids" is funny. the cassettes pranking shockwave. or shockwave putting the casettes in HIS big booby chest. soundwave looking after a bunch of fuckin bugs or predaking or whatever shockwave's little guys are depending on the continuity. because soundwave isn't the only dad, shockwave also usually has some kind of "minion".

EDIT: OH YEAH silly wavewave is also awesome.

i'm not going to mention my opinions about nsfw aspects. because i do not know how old you are or your comfort level with such a topic.

I'm into G1 and TFP wavewave mostly. Cyberverse wavewave is good too, but it's a different kind of dynamic because they're both grumpy assholes in that show and have a rivalry. TFA wavewave is fine but they don't know each other and don't have much in common, not to mention TFA Shockwave is old as hell while Soundwave is a few months old so there's a vast difference in life experience as well

We have yet to see how Earthspark wavewave could be, but i think it could work based on what we know of them individually.

I have an interesting thought regarding Soundwaves voice and vow of silence...

TLDR: I think Soundwave has a completely different voice from the one we have heard in any media in aligned (TFP, RID2015 etc.) and he never actually broke his vow of silence.

So, what is the point of this post? Recently I was looking at some old stuff on RID2015 and found out that the biggest dissapointment regarding episodes with Soundwave was that he was nonstop talking there, and while it seems like an interesting critique, there is actually a legitimate concern on its basis. Soundwave VOWED to be silent and him being all chatty seems like an assasination of a character and his principles. BUT HEAR ME OUT!

First of all, is this whole vow thing is actually canon. It depends on your interpretation of the following text;

This paragraph is from "The Covenant of Primus", here Soundwave leaves the council for good after telling that "There is no point in speeches; only actions count". Alpha Trion notes that Soundwave never spoke with his voice after that. It can count as a vow, but at the same time it was not stated directly. So, as I said, it is all up to your interpretations.

But now to Soundwaves voice. His all robotic tone is very recognizable, but I think it is not actually his own. Well, first of all Soundwave was elected as a senator, politicians make a lot of speeches, so it is all natural to choose someone with a good voice or at least emotional enough to deliver powerful words to the crowd. And at the beggining Soundwave has one;

So, here he expresses his thoughts on his senator colleges being really indecisive. As you can see, this kind of tone cannot be describe as monotone, it has clear expressions. But later on:

He is stated to have a "usual monotone", meaning that his tone is expressionless all the time. Well, it is for the books.

But how about his voice in the TFP for example, well, Soundwave has an interesting thing to him, of showing soundwaves on his visor while playing something;

Like here he is replaying Arcees comms. And he does it EVERYTIME, every voice he have recorded is played with a visual on his visor. Now lets looks at the scene where he talks;

HE STILL HAS THEM. If it is his own voice, there is no need for usual visuals, unless it is not his own. He also does the same in RID2015.

Well, maybe he just likes to flex his visor abilities, but consider this: most likely Soundwave synthesises a voice when there is no recordings for proper use or any other way of communication present. Moreover there can be different synthesizers on his hands to use, if you remember this scene in the Season 2 of TFP where he needs to get on military base, to spook all of the soldiers from there he actually pretendes to be a voice of one, saying that there is an radiation leak;

I think it would be much harder to look for such a recording than to use a programm to quickly make up one, so i think it can count.

And for the last part: Isnt making synthesized voices break the vow too? My answer is: as far as I am converened, NO. Some people use sign language to communicate while taking a vow of silence, but since they are not actually using they own voice, it is acceptable, opinions on it can vary, so you can, of course, have a different one. But as I look at it, every tool Soundwave uses is acceptable, especially considering literal war happening and him being a communication officer :D

Soundwave has opinions but i mean, less than usual because he's still not over Megatron. I get the image of them breaking into wherever Soundwave is staying for this too. Like ding dong break and enter for the sake of being moral support and the reasonable one in the room yet again.

I've spoken about how op was jealous of Megatron and projecting, but I never actually went into any detail. Tbh, I'm not certain it's truly jealousy. It's more of a "Do I want to be her? Or do I just want her."

I can read so much queer subtext into the aligned op and meg plot lines.

Quickly brushing over Megatron, he's actually not a very jealous person. He readily admits to himself his jealousy about Soundwave, in that Soundwave was s triple changer who could fly, but he was also awkwardly jealous of his relationship with his minicons- either because he couldn't do the same, or of the quasi-family type bonds a deployer and minicon share. I'd bet on the latter because when Megatron is jealous/envious, he sets out to get it. He wanted to fly. He gained a jet mode. He wanted a family, he found a "brother".

Orion Pax, however... doesn't. There's not actually much we see orion pax go out of his way for aside from contacting megatron. He usually just obeys alpha trion and offloads most of his thinking to him. In the covenant, it's not until alpha trion praises him for being idealistic that "For the first time he considered himself as something potentially worthwhile, -a bot who had something to offer the world instead of one who awkwardly negotiated with it." Which is just sad. From there, he helps name and catalogue the cybertronian ages, but there's a limit to that.

Orion doesn't set out to fix the world until he comes across Megatron, and even Alpha trion can't really shake him from admiring Megatron.

His jealousy is a natural thing to follow from here. Megatron has a purpose, Megatron believes in his own ideals so strongly he'd kill for them. He has physical strength, is apparently mesmerising in a fight, has connections across the planet, and tons of devoted fans and followers who obey his every command.

Orion to his credit does start combat training and gaining curious fans of his own, and is flattered when Alpha trion asks him to give an opinion for the council, but all of this is prompted because of his connection to megatron.

There's room to grow resentment here, even in the strongest of friendships... but there wasn't much of that to begin with.

Weirdly, though Orion risks a lot by warning Megatron, by breaking travel laws to see him, by continuing their acquaintance even though Megatron is a criminal and then a suspected terrorist, Orion is always unsettled by Megatron's gestures of friendship, first by the title friend, then upset even more by the title "brother".

You see where I'm going with this.

When orion gains the primacy and becomes Optimus, he doesn't get what's happened and at some point to Ratchet calls it jealousy. Because Orion would have been jealous if Megs was acknowledged by the council in the same way.

Even when Optimus has everything he was jealous of. A cool new title, a bigger alt mode, followers, etc. He doesn't feel like he has any real power, making him a bit sensetive to any signs of disrespect. In spite of this, He prefers Jazz's way of interacting with him (with the nickname op,).

But the title of brother still bothers him when Megatron starts using it again, though he never denies any of Megatron's claims of an unbreakable bond between the two of them.

I'm saying Optimus is deep in whatever cybertronians have instead of a closet.

So how does society view the 4 factions? Are they always doing hero vs villain battles? If not the Decepticons or Predacons, who are they usually fighting?

society thinks of the faction “heroes” as... well, as a lot of things. as medical anomalies, as threats or saviors, as horrifyingly powerful wildcards that you can only pray will choose to be benevolent today. ask ten individuals their opinion, you’ll get eleven answers. some folks are massive fans, some would like to see them publicly executed, some couldn’t care less as long as they can get to work on time. from a political perspective their existence is nightmarish. let me quote a bit from the seventh ask here about the media:

the heroes aren’t referred to as heroes, but rather as vigilantes at best and violent gangs in a turf war at worst. Froid has remotely diagnosed them with pathological dissent. at the same time, some folks have jumped on the market to make hero merch, and it becomes a very lucrative business for some. public opinion is constantly torn between fear and anger at how they do whatever they’d like and gratitude and admiration for how they throw themselves in harms way to prevent disaster and save people. it’s really a giant mess all the time that changes by the day.

this is just further complicated by the fact that really, while the factions are formed on pretty solid principles in theory, the heroes are just kids who don’t exactly know what they’re doing. there’s only 21 primary protagonist relic users, 26 if you count Soundwave’s minicons, so they’re genuinely more a gaggle of street gangs than cultural movements or political statements or military factions. they’re a buncha teens who stumble across superpowers and proceed to mess around and moralize about it all, in that weird blend of absolute nonsense and genuine deep cuts that characterizes this kind of discourse

as for what they’re actually doing to earn that reputation, they do actually serve the public! ...when they aren’t being stupid and showing off. or being stupid and fighting each other, sometimes, often, even within their own faction. they switch sides and get mad at each other and do weird supernatural stuff on accident, all the time. they flirt, badly, like really badly. they can’t even get their own drones to fight each other. they kill each other without realizing it. they sell fanmerch or make it themselves and occasionally hand out candy for no reason. they sometimes create the very villains they have to defeat!

but seriously they ARE useful. the opening episode has Trypticon nearly tear the JAAT apart, full of innocent children, and the first seven heroes are the only reason the school survived. other supernatural threats include victims of corrupted relics overwhelmed by power and out of control, victims of Unicron administered by the real antagonists of the story, and more random or strange disasters like an ancient predator or a horrible earthquake. the heroes step up every time, each for their own reasons but they are INSTRUMENTAL in keeping people alive amidst this onslaught of threats. granted, many of these threats are created specifically to take down the heroes, but they don’t know that, and if they weren’t there, the school would be eradicated. some of the threats they do create themselves on accident, but they own up to it and take responsibility instead of letting havoc spread. when they can actually focus on doing good for the world, they save lives and make the world better... and then they start arguing about the ideal way to make the world better, and who knows best, and bootlicking and setting an example and sticking it to the man and taking the moral high ground and then they’re fighting each other again. sigh. they’d be so effective if they didn’t nerf themselves...

if you check their bios i sort of assign a rival or equal opposite for each of them, the person they gravitate towards on the battlefield as a well matched opponent. this is both for convenience sake and also to underline how they are genuinely fighting not because of massive moral differences but because of teen grudges, ideological tantrums, personality clashes, and the desire to do cool stuff with superpowers. it’s a rude wakeup call when they have to face the anime serial style monster of the week, because it snaps them out of their petty us-vs-them mentality for a minute, and then an even RUDER wakeup call when they face the REAL villains, because this is legitimate life or death! but, yknow, if they all got along it wouldn’t make an interesting story!

Send me a Character: (TFP Soundwave).

First impression: Something like "Tall, dark, and faceless? Interesting." Impression now: Best Con, adore that guy, only one in TFP that even approaches the line of competence and then flies straight through it, the ideal man, etc. Favorite moment: What else but the iconic "Soundwave: superior"? Idea for a story: Anything that gives him a better fate than getting trapped in the Shadowzone. Unpopular opinion: Less of Soundwave being the demure and obedient type of loyal, more of Soundwave being the "wisecracking terror who can has and will kill for that which they are loyal to" type of loyal.

Favorite relationship:MegaSound just scratches my brain. These old men deserve each other. Favorite headcanon: That he had his usual cast of cassettes pre-series, and all except Lazerbeak have been killed. It hurts, but that's what makes it great.

Thoughts non-Christian Transformers fans might be having this time of year...

You are allowed to write whatever self-indulgent bullshit you want, because that is what fanfic is for, but if you want to make your “Transformers doing Christmas” fics 5000% less annoying to grumpy non-Christians, here are some thoughts on how they would be less annoying to me, personally.

1. Transformers are aliens.  They have their own religions.  It would be very, very odd for Transformers to care about Jesus. It’s fine if OP puts tinsel in his windows because all the other trucks are doing it, lol, but I’m talking about TFs actually celebrating Christmas in any serious kind of way.

2. If the Autobots who are living on Earth pick up human customs as an excuse to have a party, let them be hilariously ignorant about it. Despite being the Designated Good Guys in all non-Shattered Glass continuities (except possibly Earthspark), they are just as prone to being colonialist and ethnocentric as the Decepticons. Let them be embarrassing and offensive as well as cute. I’m thinking about the level of cringe involved in Christian attempts to throw Passover Seders with no actual Jews involved, or the Japanese department store that crucified Santa in a shop window.

3. In continuities like TFA, TFP and IDW, Decepticons are have experienced the way religion is and can be used to support and spread systems of oppression, because the Primacy has used it against them that way. If they bother to pay attention to human holidays, they’re going to recognise Christianity as a religion that is frequently used this way.

4. Decepticons are not out to destroy all organic life in every continuity, but they are usually ethnocentric and frequently colonialist. Their opinions of humans vary from “unimpressed” to “annoying Autobot allies” to “gross but it’s funny when they pop” to “organics always create mechanoid life and oppress it, and we have to stop them before they get there” and you even get the occasional “If form and function don’t matter, why should we care whether people are organic or not” Decepticon, but those last ones are a minority and they know it. They’re unlikely to adopt human holidays.

5. I do love IDW Starscream’s appropriation of Christmas customs because a) he made it all about himself because he’s Starscream and b) in his post-Decepticon life as Emperor of Cybertron he IS trying to find ways to subvert the mess that is Cybertronian culture in order to consolidate power. That is one example of Doing It Right (tm).

6. Consider characterisation.

6a.  Ratchet is often a militant atheist.

6b.  Soundwave is usually a militant atheist. In IDW he’s also a master of inciting and manipulating class warfare and he would recognise what evangelicals are doing in American culture from a distance meaasurable in parsecs.

6b1. There is no canonical evidence that Soundwave’s deployers are pets or children except one IDW panel where Starscream makes a sarcastic comment, despite it being IDW canon that Ravage saved Soundwave’s life and helped him learn to manage his disabilities. There is no evidence that they are anything other than adult Cybertronians. Ravage has been with him so long that some people (like me) ship them.

Rumble and Frenzy act like kids in fanon, but in canon they act like gross army boys (affectionate) who like to blow things up and pull pranks for fun and are no more children than Tailgate is.  The beastformers are not animals except in Cyberverse, where Laserbeak and Buzzsaw are trained sentient but probably not fully sapient trained birds and “cat” and “wolf” are just alt modes some mechs happen to have instead of “car” and “aeroplane”.

6b2. Soundwave playing Santa to his deployers as if they were children and/or pets personally makes me nauseous.
