Growing up you've seen a lot of relationship from family, relative, peers, and a lot of people around you got from being the most magical to disastrous. Well, not all of them since some are lucky or strong as difficulties made their relationship a lot stronger and longer. You vowed to yourself that you'll avoid it as much as possible, willing to wait for someone that will come willingly. A gift from above of some sort, a soulmate, and will never force yourself or anyone just to be in the sake of "relationship". You want love as pure as it can be, and so you remained single until now you're 24 (or older). You've entertained male suitors, flirt back when someone shows interest but never delve right through their advances because later on the initial spark died down and so is your enthusiasm talking with them. You've got a few crushes, but never pursue them since you hold on with what you believe that someone is born and faithed to love you as the real you. Not until you meet her.

So you and your wife head to bed a little early after dinner, you want to cuddle with your wife until you fel asleep since you've missed her the whole day and just want to feel her near you. You talked for a while, until she urged you to rest now saying she'll skip all-nighters for tonight to stay with you. And so you let sleep take you, and you expect her to stay with you the whole night until morning the next day. You have this habit of waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, or to drink water, or to check on her if she needs anything.

Around 2am, you woke up. You prop yourself in sitting position, expecting your wife sleeping beside you but she's not in the bed with you. You usually woke up around between 11pm to 12midnight (I'm usually awake around this time 11pm-3am, gou can change this) the sudden need to get in the bathroom to pee urges you to move form the bed. Then after doing so, you lamented if you're going to see and convince your wife to get back to sleep. You headed to her office, bare footed the cold not really bothering you.

Her office is at the other end of the corridor same as your shared bedroom (Yes you are rich, you married a mamii🤭), everything is silent since the whole household is asleep. As expected. Her office is housing a double doors, hinges oiled so not a sound is made when you open them, her office table with lots of paperwork is the first to greet you when you open the door (you forgot to knock or never knock since it's your home). On your right, a file cabinet (height reaching about you hips) with framed photos and a decorative vase on top, in line with the large table. On you far right is a space where the fireplace is located, a large window each side and a large set of sofa for when she held meetings or welcome some visitors related to business and paperwork. You expected your wife to be sitting in her office chair, back straight and stiff as a board, eyes blaring in some papers in hand or typing furiously on her computer but you inly found lose papers on the floor. You are about to take a step towards the table to pick up the clutter but a movement in the sofa get your attention, then a sound. No, sounds.

Around the sofa set, clothes are thrown hapazardly and some shoes here and there. It took you a moment to analyze the possible situation but ome thing only comes to mind. But you never wanted to doubt your wife and so you are about to come closer and ask her but you step on a red lingerie, your heart beats gone crazy when this is an indication of something not right. You almost lost your balance from shock, you instantly get hold on the nearest object to stabilize yourself. And by doing so, you elbowed the vase causing it to fall and break making you startled, your eyes starting to blurry from unshed tears. This got the attention of the other people in the room, your wife and another woman.

Both looks disheveled, and just disturbed by the sudden breaking. Upon seeing you there, the two stand up in haste. Your teary eyes meet your wife's....

The skies were exceptionally blue today, the weather was just lovely. You smiled to yourself, enjoying the fresh spring breeze blowing against your skin.

Everything was just perfect.

The beautiful atmosphere naturally puts you in a good mood. Sighing in content, you turned around from the view to leave the balcony and move to enter your home. Humming a happy tune to yourself, you skipped giddily into the kitchen where your boyfriend was busy preparing breakfast.

Yes, I know. Hongjoong and cooking literally spell disaster.

The man could set the kitchen on fire just by attempting to make some ramyeon noodles. You honestly think it's a talent but you at least trusted him enough to pour cereal and milk together for a quick meal before you spend the rest of the day together on a cute date in which the itinerary you've thoughtfully planned out in advance.

Hongjoong was always so busy with work so days like this were pretty rare.

If you had to name one thing you loved about your boyfriend, it would be his dedication to his job. Or to anything he loved, actually. Though he was constantly away for work, you have to admit he was just as dedicated to you. That much was apparent through his efforts of making sure he spends as much time with you as he could whenever he had any free time at all.

You know it wasn’t easy for him to have to juggle between work, family, friends and you but he does an excellent job. After all, you also had a life of your own so you’d never blame him for not spending every second of his life with you. The thing that kept the two of you together for so long was the solid trust, respect and understanding you had for each other.

Love was not something you’ve given much thought about before.

Especially after witnessing countless failed relationships and marriages of the people around you, it didn’t seem like something you felt you necessarily needed in your life. You’ve seen people completely lose themselves over another person and that scared you. Because of that, you’d once concluded that feelings do nothing but ruin lives and therefore, were not worth losing yourself over.

That all changed the day Kim Hongjoong walked into your life.

He was the most beautiful thing you’ve ever laid your eyes on. Don’t get me wrong though, you didn’t fall in love with him at first sight or anything cheesy like that.

Though you were afraid to commit at first, he proved himself worthy of your love time and time again through his endless heart-touching actions to win you over.

It took him several months to fully gain your trust before you eventually gave in and said yes to being his. You were so glad you took that leap of faith; it was the best decision you’ve ever made in your life as you know now that this person was your soulmate.

Time flies and the day you got together was now but a beautiful memory that has taken place years ago.

Grinning once the sight of your boyfriend’s familiar back in the kitchen came into view, you crept up behind him mischievously. Settling behind him, you simultaneously shouted ‘boo!’ in his ear and playfully slapped your palms on his shoulders in an attempt to scare him.

Perhaps you were a little too excited, you didn’t realise how stiff his posture was the entire time. With your hands still on his shoulders, you gasped when you noticed just how cold he felt to touch. You took a step back from him in horror, dread filling your being when he lets out a grunt that didn’t really sound like him at all.

Looking closely at him now, your eyes rounded when you finally see the pale and ashen skin that was exposed. He began turning around slowly, your heart sinking at the sight of his lifeless and vacant eyes staring blankly back at you.

No, it can’t be.

A strangled cry escaped your throat when he began stumbling and dragging his limbs towards you with a decaying arm lifted in your direction, reaching out to you, “Please, Hongjoong! It's me!” You begged, shaking your head in despair as you scrambled further away from what used to be your lover, “No, please… No!”

“N-no!”

The broken cry sounded across the convenience store, immediately catching Seonghwa and Mingi’s attention, “Shit, she’s having another nightmare,” The older of the two says before he rushes over to where you were still sleeping at the back of the store.

Mingi sighed knowingly before going back to finishing up his kimbap while he kept watch by the entrance. He wished there was something he could do for you but he knew better than anyone that only Hongjoong's presence could truly ease you of your anxieties. For now, he and Seonghwa would just have to do their best in filling up that empty spot.

Lucky for Mingi, he slept through the night just fine but Seonghwa filled him in earlier just how many times you’d woken up in the middle of the night from nightmares. He felt sorry for you, he knew how hard it must be for you to be away from Hongjoong with absolutely no way of contacting him.

Sure, Mingi worries just as much for his hyung and all of his friends too but he figured it must be entirely different for you and the leader. All he knew was that it pained him to see you suffer this badly. Even though you and Hongjoong have yet to tie the knot, the members have already treated you like a sister of their own right from the very beginning of your relationship.

Except for a certain someone, of course, but no one has to know that.

Gently rubbing his hands up and down your arms, Seonghwa called out your name softly and tried to wake you without scaring you too much.

Your eyes flew open and you sobbed in relief at the sight of your friend, immediately throwing your arms around his neck to weep into his shoulder, “Hey, it’s alright. It’s just a dream, I’m here,” He assured you, holding you close to him to remind you that you were safe.

“Hwa… d-do you think he’s okay?” You whispered against his shirt, the intimacy doing things to Seonghwa's poor heart but he managed to pull himself together by reminding himself that you already belonged to someone else.

“He must be, you know how strong he is. He is our captain for a reason, right? Have a little faith in him.” You nodded, squeezing your eyes shut tight in an attempt to erase the grotesque image of your boyfriend from the nightmare. To distract yourself from those thoughts, you focused on the feeling of your friend running his hand soothingly through your hair instead.

The warmth of Seonghwa’s embrace comforted you without fail like usual and you once again apologised profusely after calming down for troubling him so many times throughout the night. You really did feel horrible about it, you were the reason his sleep was disrupted again and again but he also promised you he would get mad at you if you tried to apologise for that one more time.

“Thank you, Seonghwa, really. What would I do without you?”

He smiled a little, pinching your cheeks lightly to divert your attention before you could notice the blush on his cheeks, “You’re welcome, you can thank me by having your breakfast now. Go before Mingi finishes all of the kimbap,” You snickered at that and saluted playfully, “Yes, sir!”

Mingi grinned at the sight of you eyeing him accusingly, "Hand over the kimbap, Mr Song," He burst out laughing, pushing the remaining food that Seonghwa specifically saved up to you before raising his hands to surrender, playing along, "Sheesh, it's all yours, woman."

The pair of you joked around while you nibbled on your kimbap, Seonghwa struggling to take his eyes off you and keep his feelings in check whenever you smiled that beautiful smile of yours that he adored so much.

That's right, just keep smiling like that.

The rest of the day went by rather uneventfully, with you three taking turns keeping watch by the entrance in hopes of spotting another familiar face.

When it was your turn, you lost track of how long your eyes remained trained on that one specific direction where you last saw your boyfriend go. You'd do anything just to see him appear in front of you at this moment.

The peace and quiet only lasted so long before you snapped out of your trance when you caught onto what sounded like a person screaming 'help' countless times from a distance.

You stood up from your seat slowly in alarm when the sound seemed to be gradually getting closer, your heart picking up its pace in panic. Just as you turned to call for your friends, you found them already scurrying towards you to have a look as well.

Seonghwa not hesitating one bit to place himself in front of you and Mingi protectively as he furrowed his brows in focus, trying to get a better look at the commotion outside. You peeked from the back of Seonghwa's shoulder, hands automatically clutching tightly onto his shirt to seek comfort.

He threw a quick glance and assuring smile your way, giving your hand a soft squeeze before he moved to equip himself and Mingi with weapons just to be ready for whatever happens. Mingi lets out a gasp when he finally catches sight of two unfamiliar male figures approaching breathlessly, about less than a dozen zombies trailing behind them while they continued screaming for help, "Hyung, we should help them!"

You nodded along quickly without much thought but Seonghwa visibly contemplated, biting his lip deep in thought, "But Mingi, we don't know who they are. They could be dangerous for all we know," The younger male groaned in frustration, "Do they honestly look dangerous to you right now? Imagine if Sannie needed help from strangers and those people had the same thoughts as you!"

It was a difficult decision to make for sure, you realised that now.

You felt just as torn as Seonghwa if you were to be honest. He wasn't wrong when he said they could be dangerous. Trust has become such a sacred thing now, especially with the world in this state. People found it easier to betray others for selfish reasons and you agreed that sometimes doing nothing may just be the better option.

But Mingi was also right, you didn't want to even imagine poor San being in this situation. The thought alone makes you sick to your stomach. What if these poor souls were genuinely in need of help? Could you really just stand by and watch while they get attacked knowing you could save them?

No, you can't.

You could see the internal conflict Seonghwa had with himself at Mingi's reasoning, "Hwa, I know what you're worried about. Trust me, I really do. But if not for them, do it for us at least. All their shrieking is only going to attract more zombies and we really can't afford to abandon this place." You pleaded, gripping his arm to make him look at you.

"Seonghwa, please…"

There wasn't much time left, those guys were only getting closer and you truly feared that the noises they were making would only continue to draw out more of the undead around the area.

The elder male eventually sighed in defeat, "Fine, I suppose it shouldn't be too difficult with only that few zombies after them. We've got to do this fast, the last thing we need is for this place to be swarmed."

The plan was simple, he would handle the zombies while Mingi brings the two to safety, your job was to be on standby as well as guarding the entrance, "Be careful, guys," Your friends nodded back, securing the self-made armour on their bodies, "Don't worry, everything's going to be alright." Seonghwa reassures you before the pair darted out towards the fools wailing at the top of their lungs.

You held your breath as you watched Seonghwa getting into action in an instant, expertly swinging his metal bat at the zombies and swiftly taking them out one by one. Mingi could be seen shutting the strangers up by putting his pointer finger against his lips, waving his axe mercilessly at any zombies that got a little too close for comfort before leading the two boys your way.

Once you were sure the entrance was clear, you swung the door open for them to enter.

The two boys tearfully thanked you for saving them, bowing multiple times before you hurriedly sat them down to check for any bites or injuries the same way you did for Mingi just the previous day. You were relieved to find that they were free of any zombie bites and patted them on their heads, noting that they both looked younger than most of your friends.

Poor kids must have been scared out of their minds.

"It's okay, you're safe with us now." You smiled at the boys, moving to gently wipe their tears away before introducing yourself.

The older of the two cleared his throat before speaking, "I'm Felix and this is Jeongin." You cooed at how adorably shy Jeongin was when he blinked nervously and looked away whenever you tried to make eye contact.

Mingi, however, didn't share your sentiment because he somehow couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling bubbling inside him when he thought he caught what seemed like a sly glint in Felix's eyes as he watched you fuss over his younger friend.

Shit, what if Seonghwa hyung was right?

He put those thoughts aside when he heard Seonghwa calling his name from outside, eyes widening when he realised his friend was on the ground fighting off a particularly persistent zombie.

You shot up from your seat in worry when Mingi dashed out to go to his hyung's aid, your heart lurched in your chest once you got a clearer look at Seonghwa struggling tiredly under a zombie.

"No, Seonghwa!"

If you weren't so distracted by what was happening, you would have noticed one of the boys behind you grinning deviously in victory.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

How doggedly, unfailingly loyal he is. To Killer, to his crew, even to the roofpiece group once he stopped pretending he wasn't cooperating with them lmao. Kid isn't cowed by external powers, he can't be coerced into turning on people, he doesn't give a shit about status as a given prize for disloyalty (which is why none of Kaido's tactics ever budged him an inch). He's very certain in himself about what integrity and honor look like, and you can be certain that if he counts you as a friend, as long as you reciprocate that loyalty, you'll have a friend to the bitter end.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

yeah tbh I think that would be a lot of fun. I don't think he's judgy, he has excellent taste in music, nobody would ever fuck with your apartment or your stuff, there'd ALWAYS be fun stories to hear, and an eager ear for stories in return. Car breaks down before work? Kid knows how to fix that. He'd pay his rent on time, he'd at least make an active effort not to break things, you'd never have to worry about him going through your stuff or messing around in your room (uninvited, anyway ;) ). I'd love that tbh.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

I feel like I could write a book on his canon relationship with Law. Not in a romantic way exactly, but I do think there's a lot more overlap in their mentalities and behavior than might first meet the eye. They're both pragmatists, they're both strategists, they're both brilliant and extremely competent on their own, they both have extremely useful specializations beyond just being captains (doctor/surgeon and mechanical engineer, respectively). like. I think part of why they had more of a clock on each other than the other supernovas at first was kind of that game recognizing game situation (before Luffy hit a celestial dragon so hard he turned back into a manga panel and put him on both their radars lmfao).

They act really contentious, but so much of their bantering is just like. the way you'd rip on your sibling or a buddy. Like all their dialogue in the Big Mom eps could have been transplanted into a bar scene where they were trying to one-up each other at pool or cards or something and it would have still mostly made sense.

the granted answer is, of course, Killer. They're aibous, they're childhood best friends, they're ride or die, they're soulmates, they're everything.

if you want a different one I do think there's a lot of potential between him and Law and Luffy lmfao, setting aside the rivalry for the one piece, they all have a very fun chemistry and, despite their protestations, a lot of mutual respect. that's as good a foundation as any for lasting friendship.

he broke into my fucking house and refused to leave. i have our story pick up after he dips in s2, and figure that i'm /near/ sleepy hollow but not directly in it. he finds my cabin and just thinks it's empty and free real estate. it is not. although. he never pays rent so i guess for him it was free real estate.

monster fucking tendencies aside, there was some stuff on fringe news sources about the headless horseman. SH police tried to keep a lid on it but you know how the internet is. i am trope aware enough to be a bit wary of the headless serial killer now in my kitchen but also. i am on day 8 of 9 of work before a single day off between another 9 day stretch so i'm a bit kinda.

his own mistakes leading to his own suffering aside there is the fact that like. man was already half dead when moloch showed up, it's heavily implied moloch and hell targeted him specifically because of his relationship with both ichabod and katrina to become the horseman, and regardless of people having damn good reason to treat him like a monster it still throws him for a loop to fumble into someone who. doesn't do that.

Thank you for the ask! These questions were so interesting to think about and answer, I really liked your choices!

3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

I've scrolled a little through my published fics to remind myself of what is up there and I'm surprised to find that the tropes I used are a little bit all over the place. I do have one details that I think is pretty characteristic tho: Most of my fics aren't set in a specific moment or timeframe in canon, but mostly in a vague not so far future of canon at the time of writing. And then I'd say two tropes that are very characteristic for my writing, despite my AO3 profile not accurately representing that, are 5+1 things and for romance mutually oblivious pining. You can find these two a lot in my wip folder, half finished, since this is what I default to when writing most of the time when I write casually. I guess the fics on my AO3 are mostly the ones where I was struck by sudden electric inspiration that made me finish them in one go or something close to it, and the more casual stuff is getting slowly written bit by bit in my wip folder.

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

I wouldn't necessarily say proud, but I guess I had a lot of fun with the worldbuilding for my crack fic Carefully Chosen Words. The initial basis was a group effort by spitballing after a typo turned "soulmates" into "soupmates", but I enjoyed doing what I did to the background of alphabet soup communicating with the Buckleys and how it incorporated into and influenced the 9-1-1 worldbuilding.

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

Despite most of my fics playing in some vague future of canon, I don't think I've ever written a real Future Fic with a big time gap. I'd like to set a fic 10, 15 or even 20 years in the future of canon, and come back to it and see how time (and possibly distance) have changed the lives and relationships of the characters, but also what stayed the same. It's not something that works for me for all fandoms tho, so I have yet to write it (I might finally have an inkling of an idea for this, but time only will tell if something comes out of it)

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

I try to not draw too much from my own life on purpose cause I'm very afraid of doxxing XD but I obviously know that nonetheless my life will still show on paper (special shoutouts go out to that one Wattpad commenter who clocked where I'm from just based on one line of I come home after 🤣). There is one fic where I specifically took something from my own life tho, and that is Lift Me Up, where Buck and Eddie from 9-1-1 get stuck in an elevator together. It's based on my own experience of getting stuck in an elevator. I obviously didn't have a romance with my neighbor or anything, but I used all the elevator stuff, especially the interactions with the call center employee. I think the worst part of the fic might actually be too much elevator stuff 😆 since it was so hard to decide what to include and when and at which point I'm just doing too much elevator-related exposition that isn't needed for the story to work.

Brain empty no thoughts only chuuaku. It's so good!!! It's hard to pin down one reason why I like them, but I'm just... Very attracted by how realistic the ship feels. Allow me to elaborate: they're very different. They're not different as in “we perfectly complement each other”, they're not different in “we're opposite but we're actually the same and no one gets you like I do”. They're just different. They do NOT understand each other. They have different backgrounds and different experiences and different personalities. They didn't hate each other on sight, for a while they just kind of existed in the same environment. And that's so appealing for me!! It's so good because that's... Something that actually happens. That's part of their charm for me, because people in real life don't really come in perfect sets of oddly specific complimentary designs or 21 cm of height difference or suspiciously resembling mythical enemy creatures from eastern mythology; but people do happen to work at the same work place, maybe to start hanging out more, maybe to start falling for each other. I just find it very sweet! About that, I really like the aspect that since they don't understand reach other, there's the compelling necessity to getting to know each other. I feel like that isn't something that's there with s/kk and ss/kk: with those pairs it's usually this weird mix of hate at first sight and understanding each other like no one else does. With chuuaku, Akutagawa and Chuuya are just different: that means for them there needs to be an actual, mutual effort to understand the other. I like to think about them eventually going through a phase of the kind “I realize this person isn't what I initially thought of them. As it turns out, the idea I had of them was so far from reality, I could as well have never known them at all. Suddenly, for reasons I can't explain, I feel like I want to get to know them”; and it's SO compelling. The growing closer!! The growing together. Like where the other ships are just pushing each other's buttons all the time and usually bringing out the worst out of each other, I feel like Akutagawa and Chuuya could really bring the best out of each other. It's not the constant angst of getting together and breaking up s/kk have going on (which I understand has its own appeal!), but sometimes it's nice when a person can unequivocally be your safe place, you know? Instead of constant mistrust and doubt and fear of being left, just. a person you can fully trust they will always have your back. Having found each other in a world that has made both of them suffer so much so long, and being happy together? Finding happiness together? Idk, I just find it really sweet. At this point, I'm pretty much the “what your favorite x ship says about you” girl going “You just want the best for Akutagawa and Chuuya, and really, who doesn't?”, but isn't that true?? They deserve each other, they deserve a break after everything the world threw at them.

But then again, it's not just a matter of what I want for them, I truly believe they're compatible! Just not in the “soulmates perfectly crafted to be together” way, but in a more realistic way, which again is arguably even more appealing? It's the “Soulmates aren't found, they're made. People meet, they get a good feeling, and then they get to work building a relationship” thing. I like the graduality of the whole thing. I like the falling in love slowly and unintentionally. In my headcanon, Akutagawa and Chuuya weren't in good terms for a very long time, up to at least when Dazai left. I like to think they didn't know each other past their own reputations - I doubt they had many occasions to interact - and just kinda vaguely disliked each other: on Akutagawa's end lied a slightly stronger dislike, given he most definitely didn't like Chuuya as someone who constantly insulted and disrespected Dazai-san and someone Dazai himself wasn't in appearance very fond of (to be fair, there's probably quite a few things in the world 16 or something y/o Akutagawa didn't deeply hate or was angry at) (also, now that I think about it, young Akutagawa was probably jealous of how close Dazai and Chuuya were, as well as of Chuuya being Dazai's partner). On Chuuya's side, I can imagine him not really disliking Akutagawa, but probably being sorta pissed at him for how frequently he made a mess in his missions, his whole kill-kill main-maim attitude, plus lowkey disapproving the whole Dazai idolization thing. Meaning there's so much space for growth starting from there, and that's so appealing, especially after Dazai left the pm! They probably both felt lost and betrayed for their own reasons at that point, and if I don't think they mourned together in the immediate aftermath (though the concept is sweet on its own), I think that has the potential of having brought the two of them closer. Like *this* is the first time when, unexpectedly, they suddenly started understanding each other; because they were going through the same pain. In a way or the other, Dazai was a very close person to both of them who also hurt them beyond words; the moment he left, they were to each other the only person that could understand what they were going through.

But there's potential even besides that tbh? I just want... Akutagawa and Chuuya who are changed and matured some time after Dazai left, and happen to spend time with each other because of a mission or something (will probably get more chances to work together after Akutagawa was promoted. Idk. indulge me on this), and both realizing they're actually so different from the idealized version they had made of each other. And that actually the other isn't so bad after all. And that actually spending more time with them would be nice. And that actually they would like to learn more about the other. I come back to the very initial point, everything about them has the potential to have such a natural and realistic development (as much as a bsd ship can be natural and realistic), and sorry for being a basic broke 21 y/o student but tbh there's literally nothing more romantic than having a stable job and falling in love on the work place with someone who also has a stable job and having no financial trouble and also coming home to the person you love like. Idk about you but that's literally the dream, don't you ever want a break from the endless s/kk angst or ss/kk being a literal tragedy?

And besides everything, their personalities truly DO feel compatible to me!! And really it's not the “we're so compatible we keep clashing with each other”, it's the “we actually work well together”. I'm thinking about Chuuya doing most of the speaking and Akutagawa being a good listener even if he doesn't talk a lot. Chuuya actually enjoying Akutagawa's silent company: Chuuya liking how, compared to most people he interacts with at the pm, Akutagawa's not really afraid to speak his mind, and the few times he talks he WILL be blunt; Chuuya cherishes that. I'm thinking about Akutagawa learning to love and to be loved through Chuuya. I'm thinking about them being the only safe place for each other, this stable island in a world that has hurt them so much they know won't betray them. I'm thinking about them talking about pm matters at home and having this loving and domestic life both of them oh so deserve. I'm thinking about their eyes imperceptibly lighting up and their respective days being made whenever they stumble across each other at work. I'm thinking about THEM

(Side note, but I need domestic chuuaku with Akutagawa complaining about Atsushi– you know, the usual “I hate that Jinko so much, he's so incredibly stupid and unbelievably hypocrite, annoying and weak”, the usual Akutagawa being unable to stop talking about Atsushi 24/7 EXCEPT THIS TIME HE'S ACTUALLY HONEST and not tsunderely complaining about him like he would realistically do in every other universe. A weird universe where Akutagawa is GENUINELY pissed at Atsushi and it's not... Really hate anymore and more of huge annoyance towards this dude you keep having to work with. Akutagawa complaining to Chuuya over dinner in the lines of “Dazai paired me up again with Jinko” “What a bitch” because no more existential dread, THAT'S the kind of light-hearted daily issues I want them both to have.)

And like for chuuaku to exist automatically implies such a big character development for Akutagawa one can't help but love!! Like all Akutagawa ships are inherently beautiful and perfect for their added value of bring to the picture Akutagawa, the most cruel and ruthles and especially emotionless character, being able to feel love. It's just a bonus win from the start lmao. But I feel chuuaku additionally must involve an Akutagawa who's grown and healed past his several mentor complexes which is... A lot, and it's very heartwarming? Akutagawa dating Chuuya, who is superior to him in hierarchy and most likely in fight power, but doing so peacefully because he's long let go of his fixations over demonstrations of power / his perception of power being an indicator of your value as a human being. AND and also Akutagawa dating his ex-mentor's most despised person, letting go of his obsession with Dazai and belief that Dazai is infallible and never wrong: in a way, Akutagawa finally and resolutelly disowning Dazai as his mentor– and without replacing him with a new one, because he doesn't need to be guided anymore, because he's master of his own fate!! Overall Akutagawa becoming a calmer, more loving, more mature person. Good for him. That's also why I can see them getting together only after some time– because the ship speaks of a big growth in their characters, a growth they can go through together, and that is undeniably fun to explore. It would also be nice if Chuuya fell first and Akutagawa second, for a change. I mean, Chuuya seems at least a little more conscious of his own feelings, while Akutagawa definitely took years, years, to get over his twisted feelings for Dazai. And Chuuya's feelings for Dazai are just as complex as Akutagawa's, but seriously I think part of him must have been happy to finally let Dazai go, even if that hurt; because Dazai definitely hurt Chuuya a lot, but I feel like at least Chuuya was more conscious about how much it damaged him compared to Akutagawa. And that's such a juicy aspect, navigating through their own feelings for Dazai alone and together.

But seriously most of everything it's the whole feeling of being SAFE of the ship. I think I use that word a lot when talking about chuuaku, but it's literally all it's about for me. It's knowing you can rely on someone. It's knowing there's someone who will always protect you (I mean, they're two of the most powerful pm operatives, they're bound to feel safe with each other). But it's also the knowing the other would never betray them like they've been betrayed in the past!! There's this specific certainty to this ship that the other person would never abandon them I feel other ships (s/kk and ss/kk) could hardly have, and it's so unspeakably nice. I want them both to feel protect and safe, and it's the kind of final happiness and domesticity only them can give each other. And it's GREAT.

Tl; dr: Chuuaku has so much to offer and it's so different compared to the classic s/kk / ss/kk dynamics and although I get it's not everyone's cup of tea it is MY cup of tea and I WILL proceed to stan them untill I die.
