Fancast thoughts. Here is what I have so far.
Haymitch - [got nothing]
Maysilee and Merrilee - Lulu Wilson
Wyatt Callow - Noah Jupe?
Luella/LuLu - [got nothing]
Plutarch Heavensbee - Cooper Hoffman, if he can*
President Snow - Keifer Sutherland, if he can*
Beetee Latier (age 30ish) - Jacob Anderson
Ampert Latier - [got nothing]
Drusilla Sickle - I think TONS of talented ladies could play this part. Christine Baranski? Jean Smart? Someone who can play a real bitch but make it funny.
Effie Trinket - Kiernan Shipka?
*I want to be clear that while I love these two actors and I also think they'd be great in the roles, I understand that they may not want to do parts their fathers played, particularly Cooper since his father died during filming. So, like, I'd want it offered to them but they can say no if it'd be emotional. Mental health more important than an acting job.

Sunrise on the Reaping Casting-90s edition
Realizing that even if the movie doesn't do it, SOTR should be styled in the 90s, I thought it'd be fun to fancast SOTR if it had been filmed in the 90s. For our District 12 alliance, we have:

Dante Basco as Haymitch Abernathy. Not gonna lie, the options for Haymitch and other Seam are limited in the 90s from actors I'm aware of, but he acted across from Robin Williams so he had the skill alongside his physical features (that is a face Katniss would admit was a "looker"). The legend herself Brittany Murphy as Maysilee Donner/Maysilee's twin. Brittany would have had to have dyed her hair blonde, but her range as an actor, even while young, makes her prime material for the Donner twins.

I could have retroactively cast Donald Sutherland again, but for fun, we have Jon Voight playing middle-aged President Snow. Mostly because he looks like what I imagine President Snow looks like. For our District 1 girl that Haymitch has her final battle with, is the OG Buffy Summers, Kristy Swanson. Look at that and tell me she isn't District 1. I want SOTR District 1 girl in ALL of the bright 90s neon!

Last, while we don't know if they'll be in SOTR my hope is we get at least a hint of their love story, so I have Claire Danes as (future) Mrs. Everdeen and Mike Vitar as Mr. Everdeen. Claire Danes needs no explanation, though I think she has a very classic sort of beauty and presence, a certain calmness with romanticism, that I see a young Mrs. Everdeen having. And Mike Vitar I cast because as a kid I thought he was cute. 🤭

Quick reminder for those who seem to be forgetting because I’ve seen a concerning amount of fan casts for Louella McCoy…LOUELLA IS POC. SHE IS A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD PERSON OF COLOUR. THE CHILD THEY USE TO REPLACE HER IS FROM DISTRICT 11- A PREDOMINANTLY BLACK DISTRICT. THE CAPITOL DO NOT SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO LITTLE BLACK GIRLS AND THAT IS THE SOCIAL COMMENTARY. I understand Haymitch’s appearance being up for debate as the movie casting differs largely from the book description BUT DO NOT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM LOUELLA (and Lou Lou of course).

"It wouldn't make sense for movie Haymitch to have brown hair in the adaptation of Sunrise on the Reaping, in the origin-“
Bleach, Maybe movie Haymitch can't look at himself in the mirror after his games so he bleaches his hair.

With new Hunger Games castings coming out every day grows my hope for Charlie Bushnell as Wyatt Callow, especially now that McKenna Grace is Maysilee. But I know I’m ultimately going to be disappointed because that man is allergic to having a job.

Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping, and she is the most precious thing I’ve ever know.
When I tell her that, she always says, “I love you like all-fire.”
And I reply, “I love you like all-fire, too.”
- Haymitch and Lenore Dove, Sunrise on the Reaping
