Thoughts on miku NT update getting delayed? I think she was supposed to get a major update for her anni but she just got a minor update and wat asked to wait 6 months for a ''real'' update

oh man, if i sound combative sometimes here its because this subject triggers my "vocal synth fans are way too angry at nothing" gag reflex, but im not mad at all just frustrated. also sometimes i just accidentally sound aggressive when my tone is actually neutral, so i hope you forgive me if i come off like that.

its difficult to speak about miku NT frankly because if you ever have anything positive to say about her or are patient about her release or even respect the circumstances she exists in... you get called a shill and/or people get mad— and someone on tumblr has picked a fight with me over it and refused to absorb anything i said about the subject, so i have a bit of fear naturally but...

well for one thing i didn't know about the huge update at all so thanks for telling me!

first of all i think the stated mission statement of miku NT aligns with how i see miku— v3 and v4 strayed too much from what miku actually sounds like, and people get really mad if you say this for some reason and accuse you of being picky or a boomer, but if you listen to any iconic song posted before v3, there is a mikuness present in her original version that is lost in the newer engines, is there not? (honestly i think this is true for every v2 vocal. especially luka. literally no one survived the transition to v3/4 but gumi and the VYs, but luka v4 is the worst. luka has lost her popularity and personality bc of how shit v4 is) she sounds more like fujita saki than miku the more she gets rerecorded. that is why NT exists, aside from crypton wanting to be software agnostic. miku NT is basically a V2 emulator, but the current commercial version is rough. it's enough for me to see the vision though. i say commercial because its clear the private version given out to crypton's trusted few (people like mitchie m and nyanyannya) and used in proseka sounds way more progressed... i'm assuming the huge update is either this or something beyond that. and perhaps, this huge update, if it sticks the landing, maybe means NT could be heading to a more presentable state. it could mean the release of kaito next (because it seems like to me that of the unreleased vocals kaito is the one they work on the most)

another thing people get mad at you for pointing out is how wat is the only person developing the engine... like, sorry, that is just how crypton's company culture operates, piapro charas are not their only product and those who handle them in the company are so few precisely because of how tight the vision is. and they barely make money from miku at all considering the licensing fees are practically nonexistent (for the sake of ease on everyone). so no it's not like how people think they can throw money at the project until it's suddenly successful. people think you can just hire someone from the outside to help develop it— arguably, yes— but if you read any interviews wat or other involved peoples give you immediately get the feeling that their vision is something so specific, they'd never involve a third party even if you put a gun to their heads. and i respect that. i can wait 10 years for NT to get good if it means miku will be miku forever and not fujita saki. if it makes people mad, they've literally never taken any version of miku off sale, you can buy miku v2 or 3 or 4 from their website right now if you wanted to. is it kinda bad they decided to put NT up for sale so early? yeah i can't defend that. but i also think that they underestimated the whole "make your own engine" bit. and people are hard on crypton because a lot of dumb missteps on their part like when the append update dropped and they used the incorrect audio for every demo, giving the impression that there was no difference or improvement.

comparisons to other companies don't work either— companies like yamaha and technospeech have entire research teams and periodically publish said research and then eventually implement such things into their softwares. such research is funded heavily by investors. they are company's companies. no comment on dreamtonics idk what is going on there. crypton on the other hand came in with like one guy lol. maybe it is a trap of their own design but lmao no one has to buy NT or pay attention to its existence if they hate it

i sincerely believe that vocal synth fans are raging bulls who root for products to fail just so they can hoot and holler and scream that they were right on the off chance they do fail, with 0 appreciation for the fact that for example every software has a different philosophy in its creation and a different end goal, yes NT is embarrassing at times and yes it could have been better. and? have they abandoned it? have they taken the money and ran? if they did not care they would have released the other cryptonloids and that would have been it. if there's any people whose vision i trust, whose love for their characters and the creators who love their creations that i unwaveringly believe in, it's crypton. (and vocalomakets. but that is not the point)

i think literally everyone who buys NT aside from the clique-y cover artist twitter weirdos (who sit in a circle and shit on every new release) buys it with the understanding that at this point, it is a beta product against crypton's will, and you're in for the ride at that point. if people want piapro studio to be synthv, then they missed the point entirely. miku NT will never be realistic, and will probably never implement AI, because miku is not realistic and AI learning dilutes the mikuness. if people want synthv they should just buy synthv lol. if people think v4 miku is better (i'm telling yall she is not) then just buy v4 miku. what's the issue?

Thank you all for 100 followers! That's 10x more people that I know irl (ik it's kinda sad). Just wanted to say thank you, this blog isn't really that big or professional and there are so many better blogs for Sims 4 cc.

I started this blog because I liked using mm and alpha cc both but I noticed that some blogs that reblogged both had a lot more alpha cc than mm and I didn't like going through multiple blogs (mainly because I'm lazy haha). I also wanted to find some smaller creators and give their amazing cc a go as well.

Re:overconsumption and the aesthetic of overconsumption.

I'm not saying you don't deserve to have nice things. But I am saying we live in a capitalistic society and it's killing the planet, contributing to unethical labor practices, and ruining your relationship to money.

Let me elaborate: yes, corporations produce a huge amount of pollution. They do a lot of damage to the planet. But that does no absolve you from making the best decisions you can. These companies make products and they sell them. To consumers. Like you and me. There are specialists creating advertisements to get you to buy things. This has been getting worse in recent years due to the rise of influencer culture and the idolization of people like the Kardashians.

But it's not just cosmetics abd clothes and shoes im talking about, pollution comes from every product, and tech is actually one of the worst. People blame agriculture for producing methane and using a lot of water but realistically, where else are you gonna get your food? How else can we feed millions?

I'm getting off topic. Thus post is specifically about the aestheticization of overconsumption and why it's bad.

We all know Shein is bad. It's fast fashion, the people who make the clothes are exploited, the materials are sourced in a way that is ecologically damaging. Look up the Ural sea, which was an inland ocean destroyed by cotton farming.

What about flashier brands? I'm sorry, but yes, they are also damaging to the planet. And let's be honest, how many pairs of heels do you need? How many lipsticks? Do they actually fulfill a purpose in your life, beyond giving you a little bit of joy when you put it in your shopping cart?

I get it, the hit of dopamine you get feels amazing. Feeling like you have social status feels really good too. You have been conditioned to feel this way by decades of specially targeted marketing and societal pressures. It's no different from diet culture, really.

Saying that you need expensive products to fit the coquette aesthetic is wrong. Predatory, even. Theres a good video by The Financial Diet on how Sex and the City ruined a generation of women's relationship with their money. It has only gotten worse since then.

Telling other people they need to buy things and look a certain way is contributing to the problem. Nobody has the money for this. Don't rack up credit card debt or even make a lifestyle out of begging men to buy you crap. Don't tell other people they need to do it either, that's plain wrong.

Especially in the coquette community, where there are a lot of young people. Young people are vulnerable to peer pressure and do not always make the best financial choices.

Shopping does not equal femininity. That is a vast cultural stereotype that women love shopping and spending too much money on things that are frivolous. This is why I say a lot of those proconsumeristic women both here on tumblr, on insta, youtube, etc, swallowed a boomer meme and made it their personality.

You do not need dior. You do not need to spend a lot of money on things that will fall out of fashion. You are trying to keep up in a race you will never win. Find your own sense of fashion, be your own person, and divorce femininity from shopping.

He also has a polyamorous relationship with Martial Law and Japan. • Poland is the epitome of a gentleman and will never hesitate to correct himself should he make the slightest of what he perceives as “mistakes” in his mannerisms (though he’s very slowly slipping out of it because c’mon, this is 2020, ain’t nobody got time for formalities). Overall, he is a very good friend to have, has a fair bit of anxiety, and h̶a̶s̶ ̶d̶e̶e̶p̶ ̶f̶e̶e̶l̶i̶n̶g̶s̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ is very close friends with East Germany.

Your heart was continually expanding and filling up with rainbows and confetti’s during the season of snowflakes and candy canes. Homely warmth spreading all over your ecstatic body, lively and random Christmas jams blasting from the humongous speakers, and a wild Seokmin singing his heart out together with Seungkwan and Soonyoung. You couldn’t hold your excitement anymore, blurting out a crack up at your sight.

A strong and firm pair of arms bundled around your figure from the back, followed by a chin resting gently on your shoulder. “Why are you not joining the party?” He questioned, his low voice ringing your ears.

An amused smile nonchalantly spread in your lips. “Can’t you see? They’re all boys, my boyfriend would be concerned.” You replied, resting your free hand on top of his arm, caressing his soft skin with your thumb.

Seungcheol felt safe and proud with you. Having this party with the rest of the members gave him huge hesitation at first. It surprised him when it didn’t meet his expectations with you. Seungcheol wanted to spend the day alone with the love of his life, but you wanted this party, and you have the assurance of not being regretful after partying all day with thirteen dorks. 

His soft plump lips landed on the space where your neck and shoulder meets, sending electricity that bolted and waken up your inner softness. You became deaf, completely forgetting the existing world around the two of you, the loud music, the free bodies swaying, the voices, all of them, gone, as you turned around and locked your eyes with his own. Arms involuntarily rested against his shoulders, and a curve lifted up at the ends of your lips. He tugged your knitted sweater, pulling you a little closer to him, immediately sniffing his strong scent that intoxicated your system. The ambiance of the room felt a lot warmer with him, despite the cold season. You were drowning from the pools of his brown eyes. Your face engraved on the windows of his soul. Then he smiled back at you, a smile that screams fireworks and gifts.

He started leaning down, slowly, with a smile still plastered on both of your faces. His eyes closing, while you sweetly flinched and stiffled a giggle from the touch of his long lashes on your cheeks. His lips slightly brushed with yours, aiming perfectly until–

“Coups hyung! The foods are ready!”

Seunghceol’s head jolted backwards, his jaw clenching as Mingyu called him from the kitchen. You let out a sigh, finding frustration in your boyfriend’s eyes. “Later,” He sighed as well, shaking his head. His attention darted to the rest of the boys who were still screaming on the top of their lungs. “Yah, kids! Come on, let’s eat.” He announced loud enough for them to hear, and thankfully, Jihoon paid attention to him.

In a swift second, everyone rushed to the dining as if they haven’t been fed for two weeks, making you earn a laugh. “Everything is fun when they’re around.” You said happily. 

A hand was placed at the small of your back, immeadiately felt safe from his touch. “They’re happiness.” Seungcheol stated enthusiastically.

You cautiously turned to him, eyebrows knitted. “Five seconds ago, you were pretty much disappointed because Mingyu interrupted–”

“Yah, love birds. Are you or are you not going to join us? Because if not, this smoked ham that Mingyu cooked would be gone in ten seconds.”

Your head immediately shot up to Jeonghan’s direction, who was smirking at you. Without a percent of hesitation, you scampered on your way to the dining room, pushing the boys to give way. 

The long glass table was filled with sorts of festive foods. A plate of white pasta, few bottles of cold champagne, two different kinds of desserts mainly salad and chocolate cake, and your long requested smoked ham at the center. You could feel your mouth started watering from the very tasty sight. 

You removed your eyes from the cuisine and turned to Mingyu and spoke. “But I thought you couldn’t find smoked ham?” Your cheekbones lifting up from excitement. 

“Do you think I’d let it slip? Of course, I told Mingyu to learn how to cook one for you.” 

You turned around to see Seungcheol grinning down at you. 

“I wish it’s good.” Mingyu sighed, taking a seat.

Everyone else including you took your seats around the table. Seungcheol, being the oldest among the group, led the prayer before everyone started munching the blessings. He reached for the big plate of smoked ham, gradually slicing a piece before placing it on your plate, and you quickly muttered a ‘thank you’ for his kindness. The meat’s tenderness exploded in your mouth like firecrackers.

All of you continued to enjoy the meal sharing happiness and love. It was indeed the season to be jolly, and you are beyond joyful, having your friends to celebrate Christmas with you, and of course, your best friend and boyfriend.

You were watching him the whole time, observing the way his smile reaches up to his eyes, wrinkling a little, and you thought he was the most beautiful gift you received this Christmas.

“Y/N, how was Boomer?” Jeonghan, who was sitting across, interrupted your thoughts.

You looked at him confusedly, an eyebrow raised. “Who?” You asked.

As fast as a lightning, Seungcheol’s gaze swiveled at Jeonghan as well, shooting him a taunting look with his eyes wide and lips parted a bit.

“Someone’s in trouble.” Jihoon smirked before placing a mouthful of pasta in his mouth.

“Jeonghan, who’s Boomer?” You chuckled, resting your elbow on top of the table. “Babe, who’s Boomer?” You immediately cornered the both of them, taking advantage of the fact that they’re hiding something.

Seungcheol was in defeat already. He was so done with Jeonghan’s clumsiness, giving him one last warning look before he swore to himself that the guy will pay later for spilling his surprise. “Boomer,” He sighed, shaking his head, making Jihoon laugh louder. “Babe, it was supposed to be a surprise but–”

“Oh my gosh, you got a dog for Y/N?”

The rest of the boys lost it and cracked up, clapping their hands from Vernon’s innocence. Even you, who was clueless for a second, couldn’t help but find it adorable how Vernon literally spilled Seungcheol’s tea.

But the thought suddenly hit you, making you jump a little at your seat as you just realized what Vernon had divulged. A dog?

“Yah, this is why you should stop using your earphones when I’m planning something, right? You and Jeonghan just ruined the surprised.” Seungcheol glared to both of the boys mentioned, hissing on his statement. He turned to you, and in a blink, his expression changed into a sweet one as if he wasn’t pissed two seconds ago. He grabbed both of your hands, warmth spreading intensely, but in a sweet way. “I got you a dog.” He smiled, squezing your hands reassuringly.

“You got us a dog.” You breathed out in disbelief.

Besides celebrating Christmas with these boys, Seungcheol knew how you wanted to raise your own puppy, so right before Christmas approached, he grabbed the opportunity and paid himself to visit the pet store, signing every contract needed before finally engulfing your new dog in his arms.

No one noticed Soonyoung’s sudden absence from the group. The boy had sneaked himself, secretly made his way to your bedroom, where Seungcheol had placed your new puppy that was patiently waiting for his new parents to come and get him. A mild whimper caught everyone’s attention. Fast yet soft footsteps rang the room, making you turn your head immediately, to see a brown and white welsh corgi puppy running towards your direction.

You let out a very high pitched squeal, lifting the puppy with your hands. He surprisingly fit exactly in your palms, his soft fur almost tickling on your touch. You brought up the dog to your shoulder, embracing him carefuly with your arms.

Seungcheol felt his heart melted. He’s satisfied, having his friends, the pleasant meal, the warm celebration of Christmas with the important people in his life, having you beside him, having to see you smile. He’s beyond satisfied, and he couldn’t ask for any better gift for Christmas than this, than you.

You gazed at the man you love and witnessed the stars in his eyes, but Seungcheol thought he rather caught a glimpse of the whole universe in yours.

He leaned his figure to yours, petting your new dog. “See, it was supposed to be a surprise, but these two can’t keep their mouth shut. Merry Christmas, my love.”

You cautiously and carefully put down Boomer before gripping Seungcheol’s shirt, crashing a thankful and passionate peck on his lips. “I love you, Cheol. Thank you for making me the happiest. Merry Christmas to you too.” You mumbled on his neck.

“Okay,” Chan announced. “Let’s celebrate the rest of this day together, shall we?” He clapped his hands, standing up to gather everyone’s attention.

All of them cheered at Chan’s statement, making him receive tons of ‘woos’ and ‘let’s go’ before they all stood up and made their way back to the living room, leaving the two of you still settled on your seats, but Jeonghan noticed that the both of you didn’t effort to stand.

“Don’t you dare think of staying here you two. Y/N, you wanted this party. Enjoy it!” Jeonghan pulled your wrist, making your stand up forcefully..

“Okay, okay!” You laughed at him. You looked at Seungcheol, who was already smiling at you. “Does my boyfriend want to join the party?” You teased, crossing your arms over your chest.

He stood up as well before snaking his free arm around your waist. “Let’s go party then.” He winked, pulling you with him to the mini crowd of thirteen boys.

So your telling me, that needs proof or there is no case..but God forbid you make a person of non-ethnic minority feel bad. It really feels that for white people it is the case of 'all are innocent until proven guilty' but those of ethnic minorities its 'all are guilty until proven innocent'. Im sorry but you cant even say its changed with COVID-19 happening the racisim towards asians specifically those from east asia has just gotten worse, how can you tell a person that was BORN IN THE UK that they dont belong here, like if they dont belong in the place they were born where tf do you suppose they belong, y'all seems to be good and making problems but when its time to find a solution you run away with your tails between your legs..how can you really stand there craning your neck and looking so down on people like really how does your neck not hurt.
