The dark wizard mentally grumbled under the laughter of the others wolves present, the demons being much more discreet, but some chuckle silently. Considering the delicate investigation he was on and the constant pressure placed on the hunters' orders, a werewolf wasn't really a great choice. Lewis had warned him, a wolf would risk causing problems with some of their evidences but especially since their main suspect was a wolf.

The threats he was receiving were futile, but Fernando had to follow Lewis' orders and if Lewis imposed a bodyguard on him, then he had to comply. He hated being ordered around left and right and having choices forced on him, but his well-being was important to the hunters and he inevitably had to stay in one piece for the sake of the mission. Lewis will tell him whatever he wants, Fernando knew that the hunter didn't care about him and that it was only for the sake of the investigation that he had given him the address of this boxing club. This same club run by one of his old friends from whom they left each others path on bad terms. Fernando scratched his chin as he followed Jenson body moving on the stage, yelling at the others present to continue their training. On the other hand, going down the three small steps of the stage, the werewolf pointed at a demon who was standing not far away, sitting on one of the benches of the platform, a towel around his neck.

Basically nothing scared him and Fernando always saw everything coming meters ahead. People were afraid of him, usually, his name and his presence made cities trembled with fear and insecurities. He was scary, so seeing the opposite on the face of that demon had frozen him in place. He had brushed death so many times that nothing affected him anymore, but when he met the eyes of this demon, he feel his heart stop. Two brown eyes with whitish reflections stared at him curiously and the magical aura that wrapped around him took his breath away on the spot.

Lance laughed. He seemed so young, his pouting face still in the flame of youth and Fernando thought he saw George during a brief second. George with his childish presence despite his Lys title within the hunter hierarchy. George, hunter in his twenties, right-hand man to the one and the best investigators in the city and also boyfriend, with an already golden reputation. Fernando chuckled as his eyes dart on Lance in a teasing way.

The demon pouted again, in a rather adorable face despite his murderous eyes that want him dead on the spot.

Hi again 😃 I was wondering if you would feel comfortable with kinda elaborating on paranoia ( I think you said you have it yourself?) this is the first time I have seen it represented in media properly, and have also lately been questioning wether I have it or not, as a person with adhd and autism. I wasn't planning to answer this ask but I am in an odd mood tonight and felt it might be beneficial for the both of us. 👍

I'm also autistic, but I think my paranoia also mixes with my OCD, so that may make my experience appear different. I also have never been diagnosed with paranoia, but it is a symptom I've often discussed with my therapists over the years.

For me it has been present since I was around 12, when I would struggle to take the dog for a walk because I feared the air was poisonous or a sniper would shoot me down. (I live in a country that's not had any kind of shooting for decades.) Honestly I'm not entirely sure what caused those, besides the fact I had a lot of unchecked anxiety. I started going to Therapy at age 13.

A lot of things happened between then and age 15 or so. Including my OCD manifesting and a few years of emotional abuse inside my home.

Since then my paranoia has fed my OCD many ideas to use to cause me compulsions. Possibly more relatable-- it has also turned into periods of hyper-vigilance, which is a state where a person is hyper aware of their surroundings and constantly looking for threats and escape routes.

Thankfully all of the above mentioned symptoms have gotten better for me with years of therapy and hard work. Although I will likely be living with them for the rest of my life, it's more like a bad roommate than a danger.

Some advice I can give to anyone who relates to what I've said here is to research things, especially hearing personal accounts can be a huge relief. Another thing is to not ask yourself "What's the worst that could happen?" but "Whats the most likely thing to happen?" It's simple but very helpful.

But yeah, my understanding is that it's more of a symptom alongside other disorders, but I'm not a professional nor have I studied this stuff. My sources are experience and 10 years of therapy. I highly recommend seeking out a professional who gives you a good vibe with their presence.

You know what’s funny? Is that Thrawn is really being turned into a “Machiavellian” type of villain, but what’s even funnier is that Machiavelli himself received this type of treatment. Now idk how much familiar you are with the 16th century author, but just know this: Machiavelli and “Machiavellian”, and whatever people can take from him, is heavily misunderstood (I actually really hate the use of the adjective, but perhaps that’s a story for another type). Now I know that Zahn wrote Thrawn based on a certain extent on the Machiavelli archetype (I remember reading it somewhere, pardon if I have no proofs), but I’m actually laughing hard thinking that as characters they are having the same treatment by popular media. Lemme explain: Machiavelli wrote the Principe not because “oh he cynic!1!🥶He mad!1🤬”. No. Machiavelli wrote what he wrote because he wanted to save Italy dalla Ruina, from its ruin. Machiavelli dreamed of a more compact and unified Italy. He had a vision and just as much as Thrawn, he wished to serve his people, Florence (in Thrawn’s case, the ascendancy) and Italy (which didn’t existed at the time).

And now, with Thrawn being reduced as you said in a villan without complex motifs, I can’t help but think how poetic is to be doomed to the same narrative as the figure who inspired your existence. Maybe this was planned all along, I don’t think so personally, but Thrawn is being oversimplified by Filoni the same way Machiavelli gets reduced as just a “pragmatic person” and “the ends justify the means” by everyone (don’t let me start on how wrong the quote is).

To sum up: Thrawn and Machiavellian are rhyming in the same direction in popular mainstream media.

Actually there was a period of time when I was really invested in this topic, I read his 10 letters, history of Florence +the Prince obviously and almost fell from a chair when they put him into Assassins Creed game, but now there're just small bits that I remember. Maybe it's time to refresh things

I didn't know that Zahn was actually inspired by Machiavelli. I'm new to this part of the fandom, so I haven't read anything about him or his working process, but after you mentioned it I'll take a note for the future. I must confess I learned who Thrawn was only during the Ahsoka show and due to the fandom. Like there were so many memes about him here on Tumblr, there's no way fans will hype some basic dude so much. And then my friend recommended the new trilogy

So yeah, it's such a pity that not 1, but 6 books of new material got completely ignored and the character simplified to what we've already seen so many times literally everywhere. You phrased it beautifully

I haven't read the old trilogy yet, heir to the empire, only know the plot in general, but I'm curious what exactly motivates Thrawn to rebuild the empire. And how the characterization of him differs between these trilogies. Is he mostly the same or did Zahn change the character after so many years like Terry Pratchett's Vetinari evolved from the very first version of the Patrician to his later works (I can't help comparing them after yesterday, though I hadn't done it before idk)

So yeaah... At least I'm happy that there're so many talented fans here and we can happily ignore whatever happens on the screen 🙃

So some unexpected things have happened and I’m not sure if MGANKTLM manifested this but…

I just found out a week ago that I am 7 weeks pregnant! And then, I lost my job two days later.

I’ve been hesitant to even check this blog because I know you all are expecting a lot from this and I want the story to flow perfectly. I have chapter 3 written I need to grammar check and I will have it updated.

Thank you for checking in on me and I’m so sorry for the long pause in between chapters. My life has taken such a turn. The day I posted MGANKTLM I had started my period and a week after that is when I conceived. This story is so special to me now and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I am working on it dude ✌️ I’m sorry for the delays but I am in a particularly busy work period as it’s end of summer season and do need to focus on the things that pay my bills.

I really appreciate you love the fic and want to read more and I assure you I am working very hard to make Act 2 flow together and get straight into the meatier parts of the story. But I am also a person creating something out of love and sacrificing a lot of my creative time to do so - and I don’t mind doing that obviously because I love this fic - but I do need to ensure that I don’t get burn out.

I am sincerely sorry I can’t give any more updates juuuust yet. I’m still working in forming everything and getting a plot plan as I don’t want anything to drag as I’ve done that already. I’m still living in box hell from moving as well so don’t really have a nice quiet place to write properly to make this easier for myself. 📦

I adore your fics, I think it was one of you crack ones that actually got me into Harry/V 😅🤣 and I was just confused if your longer fics that haven't been updated in a couple of years like 'damaged' or 'evermore' are considered finished or just left unfinished - I know life gets in the way and writing can be a bitch when your not in the mood lol - or if you are maybe planning to update them again in the future? Sorry again if this comes off rude some way I'm not the best at the social media thing 🥲 You are truly a lovely writer and I'm so happy that I stumbled upon your works! 💕

to answer your question, i don't like to think of my works as abandoned! which is maybe the delusion talking, but in my heart they are sort of like misbehaved children who i have banished to the corner to sit and think about what they've done, which is refusing to immediately be written and completed 💀

in all honesty though, a lot of my earlier stuff was written at a very weird and partially upsetting period of my life (insert obligatory lol to soften the mood). for that reason, some of it feels strange to revisit. if you ever want to know more about something that's not finished, feel free to ask! i'm not above selling out spoilers for some human interaction ✌️

overall i've made my peace with having unfinished works in my catalogue. after all, what is fanfic, if not an ode to writing that felt unfinished? if it was finished and we were satisfied, then we wouldn't be here, writing harry/voldemort crack fic and answering tumblr asks at nearly 2 in the morning

The Tortured Poet's Department (Katie's Version)

basically i'm liveblogging this as i listen. talking into the void; this is more for me to reflect back onto than a genuine critique of the album.

Most excited for: "Florida!!!" "Down Bad" & "WALOL?"

I'm hoping that this album will sonically resemble folklore and evermore... more acoustic, stripped-back, and raw. I'm still wondering about the "✌️" imagery and how that'll play into the album... maybe feeling two-faced or double-crossed?

Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) - ok... rehab. uh oh. swifties have been calling her a drunk for a while... but nobody ever took it seriously. this must be about a rebound... i don't want to say MH. ugh i loooove how this sounds. like a more sober midnights. no pun intended... sorry. post malone was honestly such a genius move for this song- his voice sounds very youthful paired with hers... hopeful.

2. The Tortured Poets Department - YESSS 80's into!!! god i love this instrumental so far. (I use a typewriter!!!) holy fuck nooooo this has the charlie puth lyric. more wedding references.

3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - ok. that charlie puth lyric left a bad taste in my mouth im trying to recover. i like that her vocal tone is a little darker here- would lower register apply for this? "he only runs because he loves me" real af i get you, queen. love that we've graduated to only having sandcastles instead of fortresses. these lyrics are also very ex-best-friend-coded... im projecting.

4. Down Bad - funkyyy okay. aww dun-dun-dun-dun! i wonder what mr kelce thought of all of this... oh, to be a fly on every single wall. yeah i like this one a lot. somehow also very 1989(tv ftv) coded. this sounds like denial into anger if we're still talking about the stages of grief. "like i lost my twin" is like "twin fire signs." i think she keeps seeing herself in her partners and feels abandoned when things don't work out.

5. So Long, London - ok intro eatssss down! this sounds like a driving-on-the-highway-song. i like how "talky" this is. it's very theatrical. this gives the sense that they (taylor and whoever this may be about) may have bonded over their sadness and the other party got upset when she started to heal. also, another reference to altars, but that may strictly be a religious metaphor.

6. But Daddy I Love Him - the intros are great. love the acoustic sounds. i really like this one a lot... this is a lot more whimsical and could almost fit on a Speak Now-style record. yeah, this is fantastic. such a quintessential Taylor Swift song. i'm terrified of how literally people (millennials on tiktok) are going to take this.

7. Fresh Out The Slammer - YUHHHH these intros!! ugh god i love a western motif. this is beautiful. this might be my favorite so far. i can't help but wonder what "time" she did. rehab, like previously alluded to? a rebound? a tortuous relationship? the period in a public career where one is constantly criticized and scrutinized? another ring mention.

8. Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine) - huh. weed and babies. awesome! i agree, florida is one hell of a drug. "cheating husband..." uhokok. ok yes swamp imagery! yes southern/florida gothic! what shitstorm happened in texas? taylor please eliminate the urban sprawl in florida it'll give you more room to bury bodies!! pleaseee.

9. Guilty as Sin? - again. great intros. uh oh. is it just me, or does this sound like a 1975 song?? i like the production regardless. "we've already done it in my head" again real af. this song is real af. this is like limerence... these lyrics are kinda pushing the envelope, no? for taylor's standards, anyway.

10. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? - another western-esque motif. we are scared of you taylor, i promise. contained scandal... oh? is this the cheating allegation??? this bridge was legitimately chilling. her reputation era was only a scratch on the surface. i think she needs a legitimate full-blown villain era (as a treat). i'm scared for track 13.

11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - moooore western motifs. yuh okay i like this one. more texas. what happened in texas? did anything happen in texas or is it just a placeholder? the vocals on this one are like velvet. "GOOD BOY"???? and the references to angels??? please. please. thank you, taylor.

12. loml - sigh. im not ready for this one. "better safe than starry-eyed" is a fabulous lyric. i can't wait to see that on fan merch everywhere. another reference to marriage. this is very reminiscent of "you're losing me." more rings and cradles. christ. loss of my life! loml.

13. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - im not ready i dont think. the intro, again, is great. sounds like setting up the tour. i hope that this album was therapeutic for her. yesss i love this one actually. i love when artists do the sarcastic happy-sad trope. taylor, please know that 90% of the eras tour crowds was and is sympathetic; we were only cheering for you, not for what you do. yes key change! yes i love this one!

14. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - jehovah's witnesses mentioned. just wanting to know why is so incredibly valid and a universal truth, i think. this one left me with a pit in my stomach.

15. The Alchemy - chemicals... hospitals... i hope she writes an autobiography one day. touchdown! so this is a travis-era song? i like the sound design of this one.

16. Clara Bow - nooo im not ready. stevie nicks reference!! :) i don't think she's exactly regretting her fame, but certainly re-evaluating it here. we (media, society, swifties) need to leave her alone, please.

I hope that the creation of this album was cathartic for her; it feels intensely personal. I don't like speculating about her life, yet so many of these songs are extremely context-dependent. Most of all, I hope that she gets the healing she needs. She's such an important figure for so many people; more people want the best for her than don't. It's been very clear for a while that she's been suffering. Everyone breaks at some point... I keep seeing The Tower in my mind.

(Also I get to spend two hours in an airport in Zurich, which I call "visiting Switzerland" because I am too poor to stay in Switzerland for any extensive period of time xoxo)

... Also I'm sorry Europeans, but I WILL be wearing joggers on the plane with sneakers- because I have a ten hour flight and don't want to die of circulation loss. I also got updated to business class for the short flight from Zurich to Vienna, so I like to imagine I am hideously offending every European businessman in beautiful linen pants and a button down as I show up with my sunflower printed backpack and dressed to play football through security. ✌️
