destiny 2 is the only fandom where i can find people writing actual essays on why it's okay for them to call a character a racial slur or why an omnicidal being is just misunderstood and we shouldn't have killed it, but i have to dig through piles and piles of slop to find any real content for the alien DILFs/MILFs even though everyone talks about how much they seemingly love them
Yeah I saw that post and it was an instablock lmfao. That person was already on thin ice for me bc I think they're the one who somehow made a prompt for Ikora week about drifteris, so racism was already an issue there, but that was just the last fucking straw. Idc what ethnicity you are or what your ancestors went through, that still doesn't give you the excuse to use a slur for someone who's not your ethnicity. And even if you are, shit's complex- I'm autistic, for example, but I'd never use the r slur because that's still actively used to harm people and hasn't been reclaimed in any way, like queer has. Same for racial slurs- DOUBLY so for racial slurs, actually. Also the concept that Eris or the writers wasn't using it in a 'derogatory' fashion so it was 'okay' was fucking laughable. That STILL doesn't make using a slur okay
Anyways, fandom racism aside, yeah its a fucking travesty how little Eliksni content there is compared to Crow or Cayde stuff. Like, again, I know it's because they're fandom bait characters, but it baffles me how little content there is for them when the Hive and the Eliksni routinely make up the peak of D2's storytelling arcs. Like, I don't pay much attention to the Hive stuff because it just doesn't interest me like the Eliksni stuff does, but Misraaks and Eramis? Why isn't there more stuff for them?? They're such neat, interesting characters, it feels weird how much they're sidelined by the fandom

I don't know what to think, but of the League who made it to the second half of the manga, Spinner is the only one who's family backstory/circumstances we never hear of.

Toga's parents rejected her
Twice's died
Compress has his family legacy
Shigaraki is a Shimura
Spinner is ??? Does he have siblings?? Parents? Grandparents? Anyone? No one? An orphan? We get nothing about him specifically, nothing that can't be related (or parallels drawn) with other characters.
And with the weakest quirk of the League, he's left alive? Like he's not even a threat to the heroes as himself? The complete lack of care that he's given in the story is...
