some wxs physical touch headcanons.. i guess!!

okay so before we begin fyi i headcanon all of them aroace~

Tsukasa:

okay i feel like. he would like patting people on the back/hand on shoulder. big brother gesture or something i don’t know. (it makes sense in my head okay) he’ll do this with anyone.

he likes hugs! i dont have much to say about this except he does.

he’ll also kiss saki and toya on the forehead as a ‘big brother’ thing!

Emu:

she is really big on hugs. loves giving people hugs. if she hugs you she likes you! (she always asks before hugging though!) i also feel like she is able to have have strong hugs if she’s especially excited (her hugging rui and hearing 1133889 pops.)

for people she is closer with she’ll kiss them on the cheek! with people she really cares about she gets really excited and full of love and kissing them on the cheek is how she shows them that! (besides already acting excited and probably hugging them already but! sometimes shes so excited that hugs won’t cut it. ) before she started kissing wxs on the cheek she made sure to ask if it was alright with them!

also i want to add that eventually with wxs she wouldn’t have to ask before touching them. because thats like a level of trust to me. if that makes sense?

Nene:

pretty much the only member of wxs that doesn’t favor physical touch. this obviously doesn’t work out for her. (wxs group hugs and she’s squished in the middle. she’s gotten used to them now and has come to really appreciate them.)

when she finally started getting used to wxs (emu and tsukasa mostly) she would start resting her head on their shoulders if she was tired. (sign of trust!)

basically what i’m saying is that she only lets people who are close to her touch her. when she was younger she would pretty much only let her parents and (eventually) rui touch her.** but even though sometimes she is not comfortable with touch at all, so she always prefers if someone asks before touching her.

Rui:

when you first meet him he doesn’t seem like he would be big into physical touch. but he so is. he mostly shows it with people he is close with. he won’t hug someone he’s only been friends with for a few weeks. (+ it really depends on the person)

during elementary he would give friends that he wasn’t super close with hugs, but this eventually led to them calling him clingy. (i could go on and on ab this. basically its about how he would consider people his ‘best friends’ and those feelings being reciprocated almost never.) now he’s self-conscious about this and doesn’t share physical touch as much as he would like. this also led to him only being affectionate with people he is close-close with. example being wxs! wxs is probably the only people you will see him hugging besides his parents.**

saying this, he likes hugs! a lot! he does those big hugs where he squeezes you. (like those hugs where you go ‘uuuhfffff’)

i feel like he would also like holding hands with certain people. it can help ground him. it helps let him know that they are real and there and aren’t leaving. he knows this now but it’s still nice sometimes

I was in college and one of my only guy friends started dating this girl. And they were super mushy and disgusting and I hated it because we would hang out all the time and then after they started dating I had to deal with them flirting constantly. And not realizing that I was romance/sex repulsed I was like. Ok am I jealous?? Do I like this guy?? No he smells like feet. Ew. Ok why am I so mad. i swear sometimes i think people forget that Jon's s1 skeptic act was just that—an act. it was an act!!! he believes the statements!! he's believed them since episode one! do we so soon forget that he denied the statements were real because he knew the Eye something wanted him to be scared, and he knew that was bad, so he decided to act like the statements just didn't scare him? remember, he was working with extremely limited information ("when i record the tape statements, i feel watched, like something knows i'm afraid, and i don't want it to know that"), and came up with a genuinely solid solution with what he had! not his fault that the thing watching him was a literal unknowable eldritch entity that feeds on fear, and he was just some underqualified archivist.

this says a lot about Snape's character development for me. There are many parallels drawn throughout the series between Harry and Snape; obviously, they're very different characters but there are similarities too.

I think here Snape is talking about himself. The teenaged Snape we see in the Pensieve is very much like this- emotional, heart on his sleeve, easily provoked, a definite wallower in sad memories... weak. Adult Snape, though he retains some of these characteristics that do emerge in stressful moments (in PoA we see how angrily he reacts to Sirius's escape, for instance) on the whole is a great deal more thoughtful, reserved, calculating, measured.

I think that Snape at some point had to force himself to become this. I think he actually relates to Harry here, and is giving him advice based on personal experience. In my fic he begins to learn to control his emotions partially out of a desire to protect Lily; he's fully aware that she's his weakness (or really, his strength, viewed a different way) and that openly displaying any sort of emotion towards her at all makes her vulnerable to the likes of Avery and Mulciber, who will have the perfect weapon to get to him if they want to.

Severus doesn't have the advantages of his peers, he's not pureblood, he wasn't born into money. If he wants to join the Death Eaters and rise in their ranks, he needs to be subtle, cunning, careful. he can't afford to be careless and entitled like mulciber or bellatrix or even sirius. what he's got to offer isn't his name or his money, it's his sheer talent and cleverness. moving on:

When Voldemort decides to go after Lily this becomes even more important. Imo the reason why Voldemort believes that Snape only "desired" Lily is because that's what Snape told him. He lied to Voldemort's face and told him something probably disgusting tbh because that's the only way Voldemort would accept it and agree, if it was a selfish, callous request that Voldemort could understand. We can see evidence of this here:

Asking Voldemort to spare a mudblood because he was in love with her would likely not have gone over well- and as we know, Voldemort actually bore his request in mind, though obv didn't give enough of a fuck about Snape to follow through. Because although asking voldemort to spare her must have taken serious balls, Snape's mistake here was trusting someone inherently selfish to do something selfless for him.

Clearly he immediately realises this and goes to Dumbledore, which is when controlling his emotions becomes of paramount importance, because now he's working against perhaps the most highly accomplished legilimens of all time.

It's also interesting to me that Snape in this conversation is probably the character who is most forthright and informative with Harry in the whole of OotP until Dumbledore at the end; Harry actually learns a lot in this conversation. And Snape also kind of gives him credit which is interesting too:

like for Snape that's high praise lmao. A shame because if he wasn't so bitter (i.e. didn't wear his heart on his sleeve so much around harry) then he might have actually been pretty helpful to Harry and a decent teacher. Again, during the Occlumency lessons his unrestrained emotion brought up by memories of James is a hindrance. He defies Dumbledore's orders to teach Harry Occlumency because of his emotional response to SWM, as well as honestly doing kind of a shit job before that (by not being empathetic and teaching Harry in a way that would've been actually productive.)

At this point Dumbledore believes that Harry learning Occlumency and controlling his emotions is of vital importance; he turns out to be wrong about this. In Harry's case, it turns out to be his emotional nature that saves him- unlike Snape, who is the opposite. Snape's journey is about learning that some things are more important than his selfish need to give into his own emotions.

By DH Snape's learned this lesson fully; his old hatred for James doesn't stop him from doing what has to be done, from giving Harry the tools he needs. Even in the final moments of his life, he can look past James and see Lily in Harry- and, by giving Harry the information that leads to his self-sacrifice, he can let her go.

So now I have to ask, how does Marcy handle the events of the latest episode?

Hrm.... lots to ponder.

Firstly, I think we're still just dealing with evil Invincibles, no evil Mercy's to be found.

You know how it's stated that Mark is good in one universe (our universe in the show) but is almost always evil in every other universe? I think it would be the opposite for Ellie - she's bad in one universe (bad end au), but in every other universe she would have opposed Viltrum/evil Mark. Which means, most likely, that in every other universe... she would have to be dead.

She always stood against her father when he tried to take over earth, she always stood against Mark when he decided to join him. Fighting against her father the first time was enough to nearly kill her, but add Mark into the mix? She's gone.

When the Mark variants talked about missing people from their lives (such as mom and William), I think they'd have mentioned missing Ellie too. Maybe a couple of the variants wouldn't want to fight her because they were glad to see her alive again or something? Like how Masked Mark wanted to take this universe's Debbie back home with him because he missed her? Of course, not all of them, there are a few (cough cough, sinister, mohawk, and viltrum marks) who either don't care about seeing her again or probably killed her in their own worlds and would gladly do it again.

But anyway. All of that to say, I think both the evil Marks and good Ellie would pause at the idea of fighting each other. Mark can fight himself no biggie because that's his face doing those bad things - but Ellie? That's her brother. He may be evil and he may be from an alternate dimension, but that's still her brother. It's his voice taunting her, his face twisted into an expression of pain, his eyes looking up at her in rage, and his blood spilling through his fingers when she kills him.

Donald stated that the copies weren't as strong as main universe Mark, and I stated before that I think Ellie would be stronger than Mark because she spends a lot more time in training than he does. So I think she could still beat one or two of them, and she would. She's a loyal GDA agent, she's out there as soon as Cecil heard about something going down at the penitentiary prison. She's following orders and going where she's told to go.

I think she could kill one or two of the variants (and leave herself with nightmares and guilt that will last a lifetime) before they all regroup back at the family home. It's a tough battle and she needs the help of other heroes for it, but it can be done. She does everything in her power to protect the people around her.

And then Conquest showing up at the end.... woof.

I’ve heard some people say that Miles was close to coming out as bi in his Coup de Grace era, do you know why?

i don’t know what miles’s relationship to coming out is (or what his sexuality is, for that matter) but the whole coup de grace era definitely marked a certain… change in tone when compared to his previous eras. i think a lot of people feel coup de grace was him being more unguarded with/making a statement about his sexuality for a few different reasons that i've listed below!

(**please note this is all purely speculation. to my knowledge, miles has never made any kind of public announcement about his sexuality and we should respect that**)

• colour coding - the whole album palette is literally the colours of the bi flag, and these colours were echoed a lot in the live shows too

• flamboyance - we all know miles has always enjoyed fashion and experimenting with different styles, but the direction he went with coup de grace was definitely different than anything he’d done before and had a lot more camp/androgynous/queer influences. see: eyeliner, full faces of make-up, jumpsuits, loud patterns, brighter colours (super interesting as a juxtaposition with the darker, more heartbreaking lyrics of that album but that’s another ted talk)

• lyrics - coup de grace is raw, honest and painfully heartfelt in a way none of miles’s previous albums were. it feels like an unfiltered glimpse into his psyche, and for an album all about heartbreak… well, hardly a single female pronoun is used in the entire thing. there are also an abundance of lyrics that seem to allude (not too subtly) to a certain mr turner (see things like: “interstellar dressed in leather drinking bitter boy/you knew the plan but you never knew the ploy/but i, i live a lonely life/since you’ve been gone” and the entirety of shavambacu after we know it’s something miles has called alex for years), and a relationship of having to keep things hidden/sharing hearts. after watching their dynamic unfold over the eycte tour and then the aftermath, it's easy to draw the conclusion that the heartbreak in miles's album could be about alex.

given how candid miles is in all the writing of it, it seems like if that is the case (which is a big if, obviously this is all just speculation), it's at the very least a way of no longer hiding his sexuality, and at the most a more deliberate, blatant statement of it. a lot of people think that coup de grace was miles's way of coming out without using words - which journalists would inevitably have used to twist things, overshadow his music, or throw speculation and gossip onto his friendships with people like alex. of course, none of us really know what miles's relationship with his sexuality is or how that relates to his coup de grace album/era, but yeah... i think those are the key points that a lot of us find very interesting 👀

i may well have missed stuff out here, so if anyone has any other thoughts on this please feel free to chip in!

I am just - I am in love with the misdirect of Acceptance on Bad’s stream. Going into it we were all wondering if he was gonna accept the marriage proposal, that the eggs were gone for good, the he would take the happy pills… but no.

(About the character not the cc obviously :D)

Bad has been so incredibly restrained his entire life on the qsmp. Even in his moments of pure calculated rage he restrained his cruelty. He jokes about torturing and murdering people but he’s only gone through with it twice and neither were fueled by cruelty but pure practicality.

When torturing Foolish, he just wanted answers and he knew Foolish well enough that it wouldn’t actually effect him long term. When killing ElQuackity, he and Max were not frivolous but wanted to kill him as quickly as possible. It was practical and for the greater good, not personal pleasure.

Bad is cruel. He knows the depths of his cruelty so intimately that it terrifies him. He has to keep himself on such a tight leash that any slip could be devastating and irreversible.

We saw a glimpse of it when Bad blew up Quackity’s temple. The pleasure of seeing someone in pain. The pleasure of hearing the fear in their voice. The high of making someone else feel helpless.

Today, Bad accepted that in order to find his children and nieces/nephews he has to embrace a part of himself he’s been suppressing for so long. He accepted that he’d have to revert to a version of himself that would terrify his children and the other eggs and probably make some of them hate him.

Torturing an innocent - probably indentured - worker for information they would have no way of knowing.

Bad is embracing a part of himself that he had locked away so far down inside him that most people would never imagine he’d be capable of such a thing but as Bad walks erratically through his house, slowly lighting up the room as the worker stands there trapped and terrified. There is a deliberateness to the way he uses soul torches, a weak light source, to slowly light up the room before stepping into darkness again, placing the last torch at his feet to illuminate himself from below. The cold determination in his voice. Still restrained. Still calculated. But oh so much darker and you can feel the cruelty he is about to unleash oozing out of every word as he speaks
