Hello! I really admire how fitting your lineart is with your colors and rendering, so I wanted to ask what are the brush settings you use for your lineart brush?

I primarily use Procreate!

I use ‘line-art brush’ by @/stephaniepepper or ‘buildable soft airbrushed’ by @/viria depending on the drawing.

Unfortunately I got Stephanie’s brushes from their patreon before it was deleted and I cant seem to find a way to buy them anymore.

BUT

A free alternative to the stephaniepepper brush that is a bit similar is ‘clean sketch’ from the JingSketch Basics pack! It’s not a 1 to 1 match but I hope this helped.

I have dressed up for Halloween. I think I liked my loki one even if it was super simple. As for biggest fear I think an irrational fear I have is a fear of being out on open water in fear of being lost at sea.

What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O

it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”

it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)

two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama

and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio

I'm past thirty, live alone with my cat and I've never been in a relationship ever. Some days I crave the companionship, the affection and the simple touches, others I'm afraid I'm gonna end up alone. I don't have a way of life where I met many people (if any) and I doubt I'd met anyone through work. Also my therapist thinks I might be bi ? I've no idea myself as I've never felt attracted to anyone but she said by what I'm telling her I sound like I'm attracted to people's souls and personnality rather than anything physical. I might be asexual too, as I've never touched myself nor felt the urge to but I'm both curious and afraid to try. I've been told maybe I just haven't met the right person yet. I'm on holidays for two weeks and I'll probably be reading larry fics most days. Which is nice, I love it, so many great writers in this fandom (you included) and so many works still on my to-read list but also- solitude. Anyway. Sorry you just asked for a secret and I'm telling you my life story. I'm in one of these moods and I suppose I needed to share with someone else than my overthinking brain tonight...

this feels like a lot of secrets in one message, but first of all, i commend you for the honesty in this message and thank you for sharing this all with me, i know it helps to share this with someone instead of keeping it all bottled up, overthinking is exhausting (see my literal mood earlier lol)

secondly! it sounds like there's a lot of self discovery to be had here? which takes time and courage, so definitely don't feel rushed. i don't have much experience or the ability to give many pointers/tips as i struggle with labels myself, but i do know that it definitely took time just for me to be comfortable with acknowledging the fact that i might not fit under any one specific label, so don't feel pressured to do so. you're valid either way. as for the attraction to others souls rather than anything physical, i think that's such a wonderful way to be.

lastly, i'm a big believer in everything happens for a reason/the right person will come along at the right time, so keep that in mind, yeah? i wasn't in my first serious relationship until after i turned 21, which had me dealing with similar feelings especially watching all of my friends get the full experiences early on but i've learned that you can't rush it and things will fall into place when they're due to... and idk if that helps much but it did bring me comfort through my own struggle in said situation.

Severus Snape, dressed in his customary dark attire, had been preparing to retire for the night when the obnoxious music reached his ears. Annoyed, he abandoned his plans momentarily and briskly made his way toward Lockhart's room, his steps purposeful and determined.

Irritation etched on his face, Snape swiftly approached Lockhart's room and pointed his wand toward the door. With a flick of his wrist, the music abruptly ceased, leaving a disconcerting silence in its wake.

Curiosity piqued by the sudden silence, Lockhart opened the door to investigate, only to find Snape standing there, a disapproving glare fixed upon him.

"Lockhart!" Snape's voice resonated with a cold intensity, his annoyance obvious. "Do you have any concept of consideration for others? Must you subject the entire castle to this unbearable noise?"

Holy shit I love your Dirk interpretations, it's so true and I could talk about this shit forever. I feel like another part of his character that people seem to forget (along with Roxy for some reason) is that he's from the future in solitude in an apocalyptic wasteland. I just see that part of his character always removed which is disappointing because I feel like that's a pretty big part, especially regarding his themes around technology, his brother's theme of Time, his own isolation, and how he plays in the vastness of the universe and spacetime.

Art I drew related to the subject because I like to respond to asks with art.

But absolutely. I certainly understand where the lack of discussion over his isolation + upbringing comes from, considering a majority of the fanbase that I have seen builds their ideas based on their own version of postcanon. I’m not entirely sure how that would be fixed, but certainly even in the somewhat recent past I would see a lot more content regarding his upbringing both literally and symbolically. I don’t have much to add regarding the things you’ve mentioned, because they just are what they are. Dirk being confined to a singular room left to him by a father figure he never met, in a future where the only other person left on the planet is someone he cannot pursue a relationship of because of himself, with purely 3 robots to keep him companion, one being an exact replica of his own brain who is *also* trapped inside a pair of glasses, is about as literal as it gets to me.

The contrast to me involving the flooded, organic world in comparison to the little speckle of Dirk’s apartment packed with the dude and his technics is not only a representation of his isolation and entrapment within himself, but also of his lack of control. I think his obsession with & themes of control are a direct product in the case of Dirk specifically *of* this kind of upbringing. His themes of technology are also related to his themes around control. So much of his character is actually revolved around this to me like so much. Dirk is so deeply disconnected from humanity in every way and so much of his character + symbolism is based around that.

It doesn’t even have to be about the symbolism or anything though. It’s just pretty *interesting* in the literal sense that he lives in the middle of the ocean in the future. There’s not only a lot to theorise on to do with his young life there, but on how it might affect him in the way he acts for the rest of his life. The latter part is probably what I see mentioned the most by people talking about Dirk regarding this, I’m surprised I don’t see more discussion on the former too though. I really ought to actually talk more about Homestuck stuff on here. I will do it myself.

Roxy & Dirk’s relationship is largely ignored though because there is a narrative a certain demographic spreads that Dirk resented and blamed Roxy for her interest in him, and thus too many people believe that their relationship was or would continue to be an abusive one. Realistically, I believe it’s important to acknowledge that the way Roxy treated Dirk regarding his homosexuality wasn’t right while still acknowledging the obvious amount of respect and admiration Dirk had for Roxy. I mean we have a huge piece of dialogue from their post trickster mode conversations on the quest beds from Dirk purely stating how he feels about Roxy that people completely ignore somehow. I think this usually happens to characters that are women though. I know everyone says it, but it is true. Jane gets the exact same treatment of boiling her down to solely her negative aspects. The things I see completely mischaracterising both of them are horrific.

I mean how much more explicit can it get that their relationship is obviously very important to Dirk? But I digress. I think the best or I should say “most interesting” interpretations of their relationship usually come from DirkRoxy shippers actually.

I would be interested to hear about Dirk’s relation to his brother’s theme of time though. I don’t have any thoughts on this and I don’t recall ever hearing anyone talk about it before. If you or anyone else would be willing to enlighten me I’d be thrilled.
