they live up north in a big city!! our very talented baby sibling works very hard and is wanting to live their dream of performing on broadway and we just know they will make it one day! we are so proud of them!! they are so talented and have such a lovely voice.

Ayyy I heard someone's ask box is empty so I've come to help fill it up again! I've been thinking about genderfluid Sandy recently and I was wondering if you had any gender or sexuality headcanons for any of the characters?

Aww, this is a fun one, thanks for asking!! Let's get into it.

When it comes to sexuality headcanons, a significant distinction takes place in my mind: there's things I consider to be canon (they're not, in fact, canon, but I really can't help to read the manga in any way other than that). Then, there are my personal headcanons: those aren't based on any significant event in canon, and are just headcanons I came up with according to my take on characters' personalities or - more frequently - just my guts pfft.

Canon-ish headcanons / things I consider to be canon:

Gilda is lesbian. I don't know. I'm not sorry. There's SO MANY THINGS in canon that just. Prevent me from seeing her any other way. Referring to the most recent fanbook, there is a reason if basically every single (most popular) female character love status has been discussed- except from Gilda herself. And the reason is: she's a big lesbian with a even bigger crush on Emma- crush that dates back from even longer than Norman's. It's always been there, as clear as air. Her being lesbian is so evident for me that, even though I totally support people having fun with their ships, it never fails to baffle me to see her being shipped with male characters- for her to love a boy is just something I can't see in any world lmao.

Yuugo and Lucas are TOTALLY together. That makes them either gay, bi or pan. I personally would go for bi!Yuugo and gay!Lucas.

There's no heterosexual explanation to this. When I was reading the manga for the first time, I straight up thought they were going to kiss. They probably would have if Yuugo hadn't been carrying Emma.

Krone and Cecile both have a big lesbian crush on each other?? Again Krone is probably bi (“I want to marry a prince”) and Cecile is a HUGE lesbian. I mean Cecile's crush is so so evident,,, they're so cute,,,,,, they deserved better,,,,, ;;;;;;;;

I mean, the shojo effects in this panel??? Hello??????

Paula is non-binary. In an early translation of the GP characters sheets, they were addressed with they / them pronouns, and I was like "oh so they're nb? Cool!" Without putting too much thought into it. From then on, I've always thought of them as non-binary, without really questioning if that was just a matter of translation ahah.

Personal headcanons:

Grace Field:

Emma: I REALLY like aroace Emma it just,, fits so much her character to focus on other forms of love rather than romantic one.

Norman: No strong feelings towards his sexuality but I think bi or pan Norman is cool?

Ray: I'm fond of pan Ray. I mean...

He... He's blushing. And, differently from Emma, I can assure you he's not blushing for the giraffe.

This goes beyond the sexuality field but I also have very strong opinions about Ray's gender, because even though I believe he would go for he / him pronouns, I like to think he has a very fluid relationship with his gender, using make up and wearing dresses whenever he feels like it. Ray is too depressed to give a shit about a lot of things, and gender is definitely one of these.

Don: Bi? I mean, I ship him with Ray so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be honest, Don is probably the only character I'm cool with headcanoning as being straight- mostly because I really like the trope of straight!Don protecting lesbian!Gilda in modern AUs. Don would be the kind of swell, wholesome guy for you to say "your redeem all of world's heteros"

Anna: both bi!Anna and lesbian!Anna are extremely valid. I tend to lean more towards the lesbian!Anna because I'm,,,,, so tired to see her randomly paired with random male characters lmao.

Nat: I have no idea, I just didn't want to leave him behind because he deserves love lmao. He's probably bi as well. Ooooh him and Anna may do a bi duo!! I like it.

Goldy Pond Resistance:

Now you see... They've been raised by Lucas. Lucas is big gay in my mind. So "every single one of these children is queer in some way" is extremely valid.

Violet: Oooh, hardcore butch lesbian. I love the headcanon of her having a crush on Emma, but let's be honest, who hasn't ever had a crush on Emma.

Sandy: So genderfluid Sandy??? Wholesome, I'm totally in!!!! He'd be the one to wear a pride eyepatch at prides, like this:

Gillian: Oooohh she's my pan daughter!!!!!!

Nigel: Him and Gillian could form a Goldy Pond pan duo ���👀

Oliver: Ahah he's Lucas son. He's definitely gay. I also find Oliver / Zack to be a very sweet ship!!! Emma and Oliver are the ones that most functionally work together because Oliver is too gay to have a crush on her.

Again beyond the sexuality field, but I'm also really fond of trans!Oliver!!!!

Zack: Mh probably gay as well.

Sonya: Oooohh she's a lesbiannnn

Barbara + Cislo: I really love @puff-poff's headcanon of Barbara and Cislo being lesbian and gay solidarity!!!!! I'm very fond of the platonic relationship that is between these two- they've been together since they were very little, and they've gone through to so much stuff together, they feel a lot like siblings.

Flowey in UnderSwap

I consider Flowey a sort of linchpin for the events of UnderTale and pretty much every AU involving a similar backstory. So this post will discuss Asriel and Chara’s personalities in UnderSwap and the effects their deaths had on their parents as well as the rest of the Underground.

First things first, this is my interpretation of the UnderSwap AU, and therefore not all of the Swaps are widely-accepted Fanon.

For example:

In my headcanons, Asriel is Swapped with Chara.

I’m not really a fan of Swaps affecting when individuals are born, and the timeline of UnderTale indicates that Chara might have Fallen about a century before Frisk did, so they don’t Swap. Same goes for Monster Kid and Asriel (although we have no definite proof on the rate of growth for monsters, Monster Kid can be easily Swapped with Rabbit Kid or Cinnamon, the bunny child being walked on a leash).

(And no, Flowey doesn’t Swap with Temmie. Temmie’s a Creator-Avatar, like Annoying Dog, so they Swap, instead.)

From what we learn of the Fallen GoatChildren of UnderTale, Asriel was a kind and gentle individual who wanted to please the people around him--especially his adopted sibling--while Chara could be assertive and harsh to the point of emotional abuse, but still had some genuine affection for Asriel and monsters in general. We also learn that Chara was suicidal and hated humanity--two facts that Asriel knew about them, but was never told the reasons for.

So, let’s go ahead and Swap their characteristics--keeping in mind their different backgrounds and SOUL traits (even if we don’t know either of their dominant traits, we do know that Asriel is predisposed towards compassion and mercy by his nature as a monster).

Asriel takes after both of his parents in looks and personality. In the world of UnderTale, he clearly as soft-hearted as his father (to the point of being a “fluffy pushover” himself) and as staunchly pacifistic as his mother (I can only assume that Chara had convinced him that they’d only harvest the SOULs of the dying or irredeemable). So let’s switch them out for some other familial traits! UT!Asgore declared war in a fit of rage and grief and UT!Toriel is intently protective of those she takes in. ...Well, damn, now that I write it out, that sounds like a potentially volatile mix.

Excellent.

So, if Chara was more passive and open with Asriel about their past and Asriel was...well, as described above and emotionally clinging to the small human he had saved and grown a familial attachment to. Then naturally, Asriel would have a distinct distaste for the humans residing in the immediate vicinity of Mt. Ebott--if not humanity in general--right?

Maybe the plan is still formed in some way reminiscent of UnderTale or maybe Chara commits suicide because they’ve already tried that and now they’re surrounded by loved ones who could benefit from having a spare human SOUL around and Asriel absorbs their SOUL in a desperate panic to not loose them. Either way, the fused GoatChild passes through the barrier and is attacked by frightened humans. Asriel’s angry, but Chara refuses to let him destroy the possibility of a peaceful resolution between the species--the resolution that everyone Underground was hoping against hope for--and the hesitation is just enough for the humans to land a fatal blow.

They return Underground to dust in their parents’ arms.

Asgore decides that monsterkind is better off remaining Underground and away from significant populations of humans (an opinion UT!Asgore held before this point alongside Gerson) while Toriel realizes both how cramped the Underground might be in a few generations and that their people have just lost a tremendous source of hope, which might prove fatal for many. Toriel demands that the next human SOUL be brought to her and Asgore retreats to the Ruins to keep any fallen humans from meeting such a fate.

(In @rehliadeerling‘s version of UnderSwap on AO3, Asgore accidentally kills most of the humans that fall, but I’m trying to stick with the timeline in this post and if Flowey doesn’t exist yet, then the humans should have the highest levels of Determination and therefore have control of the RESETs. So instead, Toriel just sends out scouts with the first few SOULs and interrogates the ones that fall afterwards. They aren’t allowed to leave.)

Queen Toriel is a considerably more resolute and pragmatic ruler than King Fluffybuns, but she isn’t as good a gardener. Sure, she kept that one bed of golden flowers alive as a tribute to Chara in UnderTale, but she’s got more important things to focus on in UnderSwap. So even though Golden Flower seeds ended up on the monsters side of the barrier, they didn’t really thrive enough for Golden Flower Tea to be a thing. Or for it to be the selected flower in the DT Experiments. Instead, it was a flower that was already very prevalent in the Underground.

(I briefly considered Chara being Flowey--and probably coming up with a less redundant name for themself, like Phoenix or something--but Asriel’s rebirth as Flowey really isn’t the same as Chara’s possession of Frisk and I’m inclined to believe that his magic-based biology has something to do with that. His “essence” is not the same as their “spirit”, even though they are both SOULless children in need of guidance to achieve any personal satisfaction.)

Unlike in UnderTale, the Flowey of UnderSwap probably isn’t feeling guilty for doubting Chara or ruining the plan. He might feel guilty for not protecting Chara (either from the humans or their suicidal tendencies), but more than anything Flowey’s angry. Angry at humans for killing him, angry at Chara for stopping him from fighting back, angry at his parents for not eliciting the same emotions in him that he remembers from when he was alive, angry at himself (for the aforementioned guilt) and angry because he’s a flower with a face and wow, that’s going to take some getting used to.

If you subscribe to the NarraChara Theory, then Chara’s pretty at the same stage of their afterlife immediately after being awakened as they are in UnderTale. That is to say, curious about what Frisk is up to and internally debating whether or not Asriel was right after all. They are more docile and patient with the constant checking of snow poffs and garbage piles, though.

unfortunately...um...you might be new to the blog but um...with the passing of my grampa poff 9 years ago..it quickly became very obvious that my family chooses favorites and i um...was not it...heh..sadly they do not make the effort to contact me...and i have done enough of attempting...Christmas and my (nonexistant) Birthday are often..lonely and hard to get through. i don't expect anything...nor do i ever ask..because i dont want to be burden anyone or become a chore you know? my family only made attempts to contact me last year because i broke down in front of my mamma poff about it just to get it off my chest. and how ironic it was to receive phone calls and texts from them that year heh...the timing am i right? no not one of them reached out to wish me a merry christmas...as expected...with everything that has happened this year...my heart is tender...and close to breaking all over again...i dont want to bother any one..and i dont want anyone to feel as if they have to do anything... my family is the biggest reason for my constant sayings of i am easy to forget, and that my birthday does not exist as it is also a holiday and they have actually told me that they had forgotten it was my birthday. if they loved me...how could they have forgotten it was my birthday? its been my birthday for 35 years now teh heh...i dont think its going to change. but uh..yeah thats uh...thats whats going on and what i mean by that...sorry for such a late reply...i havent had much time because of work...teh heh!
