Hi, not necessarily jikook related, but I wanted your opinion about something of the perilla leaf discussion that I haven’t seen mentioned.

One thing I really don’t like about K-pop in general is the gatekeeping of the artists, so much so that if they are found out to have a SO it’s a huge scandal. I think two idols posted “apology” posts for their fans when they got married/had kids. Now I know this is something cultural that I clearly cannot wrap my head around, but I find it quite sad.

So back to BTS, I was very surprised about the perilla leaf discussion because it was them admitting (albeit indirectly) that they date and have relationships. Hopefully it is not news to anyone that men in their middle-to-late twenties date, but seeing the culture around Kpop in general I thought it was very cool that hybe would release that video (not to mention the whole gender neutral language use that dalloga explained).

I know it’s nothing but maybe one day the culture around idols can change (not that they should disclose their relationship status, just you know live their life knowing that if their relationship is founding out/they want to disclose it they don’t risk losing their careers).

I haven't seen @dalloga 's explanation but I love her so whatever she said is definitely correct. For me I just noticed that the word used was gender neutral in Korean. It just means "partner" basically and can be used for any gender, so it was a good choice and I was happy to hear it. My spoken Korean is truly awful but I know a little bit. Kev's trying y'all. HE'S TRYING. Regardless, the intent was there not to say "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" specifically but to punt that word in favor of a gender neutral term, and I appreciated that. AND HOLY CATS YES I have been hoping someone would bring up the "oh hey we are adults who, y'know, peel perilla leaves and have partners and do adult sex things" because THIS IS SO UNUSUAL FOR KOREAN ARTISTS. Y'all know this is very out of the ordinary when just last year iKON's Bobby had to apologize to fans for getting married and fathering a child. In 2020 EXO's Chen did the same, even though he did not say he was sorry when his wife had their second child in January. It's an issue. We've seen how stans handled Tae's probable girlfriend and his response to that fairly recently. These guys even THINK about showing up with a woman (god forbid a man) and we like to think ARMY would be cool with it but based on my observations, that is NOT THE CASE. Maybe half of us would be fine, even supportive, but there are real, actual dangerous solo stans out there who could and would present a physical threat to the safety of ANY significant other. There's a whole slew of reasons our guys have ALL stayed "single" all this time, even though it's very likely that the majority of them are involved outside the group and two of them have been a couple for years. And I do think Bang and Co. are supportive of, IDK, letting grown ass adults be, IDK, grown ass adults. Which, in K-pop, is refreshing. I dunno if it's just BTS or if they'll do the same for other groups. I hope they do.

MAXSIX: TOP 22 SONGS OF 2022

Hi tumblr! Wishing you all a Happy New Year in 2023. Things have been absolutely crazy busy down here so I haven’t posted much lately but I hope you’re all safe, healthy and will have a successful year ahead. I thought KPOP gave us an absolutely amazing year of music actually. It was truly the year of the Girl Group and even though I love boy groups more, I have zero complaints. Here’s my Top 22 songs.

22. That Feeling When by Enhypen. This song is just so comforting for me. I put it on when I’ve had an awful week. It sounds like a walk in the park on a sunny day. The structure, tempo and instrumentation sounds very very similar to Post Malone’s Circles but much softer and less traumatised. I appreciate that they consistently put out albums with fully-formed songs on them. I don’t think they will ever be my bias group because I just don’t really vibe with them. I don’t understand their identity or personality (as a group). I don’t understand what part of the market they are aiming for. But they are just new so they have time to figure that out.

21. BTBT by B.I. Oh Kim Hanbin, we meet again, under very very different circumstances this time. It’s been nearly EIGHT YEARS since Ikon debuted and excuse me while I ride this wave of memory and nostalgia for a minute. I’m always proud of how he came back. I wanted to include Illa Illa but that was last year. There’s something so fluid, calm and content about his material now. It’s a lot like the flow of water and I’m sure there’s a whole paragraph about symbolism and rebirth and change in here somewhere but ain’t nobody got time for my essay on him (me included).

20. Antifragile by LE SSERAFIM. I only checked out this group because I really think Bangs (Chaewon) is a big star and would be an IT Girl if Wonyoung did not already exist. I like Fearlesss and Sour Grapes too but I won’t lie, I am really in my Trash-GG-Pop era and Antifragile is so weird but so catchy. I like the use of these lesser-heard chords and it honestly sounds so enjoyably wrong. Fearless is the more stylish song but sometimes you’d rather wear a fur jacket than black suit, you know? They’re off to a good start but the reason they’re this low on my list is because I cannot really love them yet? There’s no gateway bias for me into LS. Excited for their future output though.

19. INVU by Taeyeon. She is one of those cases where I truly have to separate the artist from the art to enjoy it. Her voice is just beautiful here and this song is so lush and gorgeous. I really like the bittersweet nature of INVU and the emotion she was able to bring to it. She really connects with the audience and I think it’s why she remains so successful and popular. The rest of her personality? I will not comment on.

18. Shut Down by Blackpink. Sorry I ended up liking this trash. I know I am already contractually obligated to support all Australians in KPOP but sometimes the Garbage lady did well and needs to be promoted to Garbage Boss. It was a toss up between this and Pink Venom but this won because the Lisa verses bothered me less here. Jennie was always their better rapper anyways and for those who disagree, you are 100% entitled to your (wrong) opinion.

17. Feel My Rhythm/In My Dreams by Red Velvet. For me, they will never top Bad Boy and Psycho but I enjoyed the classic sampling of Bach in FMR. I’m including both in this because they are so similar and I often listen to them together when I want to be in this very particular mood. They’re just both so pretty and soothing to me and that’s all there is to this comment. Great gowns, beautiful gowns etc.

16. Ballroom Extravaganza by DPR Ian. The contractual obligation to support all Australians continues. He has some absolutely devastating material to be honest. He writes things that take me back to my disastrous uni years; when I thought I was living in a Hole album but truthfully, I just needed therapy and a good night’s sleep. He’s my Breakdown OST man. If you vibed with anything I just wrote there, you need Christian Yu in your life. I don’t listen to him often because I don’t like revisiting my breakdown eras but the music is very very good. He’s like the music version of Sicario, which is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen but never ever want to see again.

15. After Like by IVE. It’s just so cute. That’s all. It’s just fun and cute and you can listen to it without any kind of stress or expectation. The sample from Gloria Gaynor had me wondering how rich their management is because damm, not even BTS sampled something this famous. This one is particularly good to have on when you’re getting ready to go out.

14. Young Luv StayC. This was a song that I instantly understood and connected with. I always thought of this as the sister version of TXT’s Loser = Lover, which was actually my most played KPOP song of 2022, even though it was released August 2021. Sentimental rock songs are just my thing I guess. I really love the tempo of these pop-rock songs and it’s crazy to me that StayC and TXT do the genre SO well but don’t lean more heavily into it. This constant need for re-invention is not always necessary. Sometimes I wish groups could figure out what they do best and stick with it. Not everyone can be Seventeen.

13. Muddy Water by Stray Kids. This is my favourite Skz song this year and if they don’t play this when I see them live, I will protest loudly and annoyingly. Changbin usually has my favourite verse in every single Skz song but it’s all Felix MVP for this one because I always prefer deeper-rap to chipmunk. Hyunjin’s lower register is so nice to listen to and I’m so frustrated they don’t use it more often. Jisung is flawless as usual and I sit here patiently waiting for him to drop his (likely) psychological Jixtape. No clown music please, give me all the shadows of your mind Han Jisung.

12. Ash by Seventeen. What a surprise and revelation this song was, tacked to the end of the album like a “Oh yeah we’ll just put one of our best songs here like an afterthought”. This is Vernon’s song and his rap verse is one of the BEST I have heard all year. It is just flawless in its tone, pace and delivery. He’s a really good example of knowing what he does well and perfecting it over time. Black Eye just came out and I absolutely adore his voice on it. He’s just such a revelation and I hope there is more solo material from him in the future. I didn’t think Seventeen could do anything to surprise me anymore but they do it every time. What a group.

11. HOT by Seventeen. This was the song that got me back into the fandom, after Mansae (seven years ago!) I love the intro. Definitely one of the best intros I’ve heard in a long time because it set the tone immediately. This song always gives me a big hit of energy when it plays, kinda of like taking a sip of Red Bull. I have to just talk about how crazy talented the video editers were. The amount of work that went into the HOT mv blows my mind every day. Whenever I sit and watch it, my head can’t compute that humans put this together.

10. Guerrilla by ATEEZ. The most surprising song for me this year. It was at once the most expected thing from Ateez and so damm unexpected. I didn’t think any group would lean this hard into this genre because Korean versions of anything but pop is always a diluted Hello-Kitty version. I feel like it announced them in a Big Way and I love watching them riding this wave. Every time I listen to them I thank the Universe that they managed to get Jongho in the line up. I think this needed to be their title track (for the impact) but the album absolutely had even better songs on it.

9. Cheers by Seventeen. The confidence and arrogance and cockiness involved here was so tasty to witness. Also: Seungcheol ass. Yeah, I play this one a lot and whenever I blast it driving, my lil Kompressor thinks he’s a Nissan GTR in Tokyo Drift.

8. Wildfire by Monsta X. I know the bare minimum about this group so I had the lowest of expectations but the longevity of this song on my playlist truly surprised me. It’s a slutty club jam with torment and a narrative that I totally understand. I have always maintained that the writing, production and depth of this song is what ‘Red Lights’ was striving to be. I think you need to have lived through some shit to bring the necessary conviction to songs like this. Do I feel that Chan has been through a soul destroying toxic relationship? No. Do I believe Hyungwon has one every Sunday? Absolutely. I pray every day for him to release a solo version of this.

7. Attention by New Jeans. The first thing I heard from them and man, what an introduction. A total breath of fresh air in the age of mash-up noize songs. It took me a long time to figure out what I really like about them and it’s the minimalism. KPOP is so crazy and OTT where More is More so when you get something stripped back like this, it seems new.

6. Cyberpunk by Ateez. The World: Movement was one of the most solid albums released this year and it absolutely blows my mind whenever end of year lists don’t at least acknowledge how cohesive it is and how TIGHT that production was, like damm, they really kept only the choice cuts. I love the journey of Cyberpunk because when it started, my brain just went: Bladerunner 2049 Club Jam. The Hongjoong-Mingi rap though, worth buying the entire album for. They just never disappoint me. If you see Song Mingi today, please tell him that I love him.

5. Hype Boy by New Jeans. This song reminds me SO much of 2nd Gen SM girl groups. It reminds me of S.E.S, who were the first Kpop group that I knew about and loved. This is just a very very good and well written song. There’s really nothing else to it. When the music is so solid, there doesn’t need to be anything else added to the equation. By sounding 2nd Gen, they’ve managed to make groups like Itzy and NMIXX sound so dated and messy in comparison.

4. Run BTS by BTS. Well well well. And look what we have here. It took years of utterly whelming material for me to get something like this from them again. This is so fun, memorable, catchy and full of the attitude and personality I think they kinda lost along their way to infamy. It sounds like 2nd Grade lost all its baby fat and graduated from college with $3 in its pocket. If you think I sound like an old person then get off my lawn.

3. Ring by TXT. Kang Taehyun is my favourite boy on this entire list and this song is his (feat. Yeonjun’s rap, which is one of his best imo). It’s cute but not saccharine. It’s simple without being one of those superficial filler songs on an album. It’s lighthearted but performed seriously well. Anyways, Kang Taehyun is my favourite boy. Did I tell you how Taehyun is my favourite boy. No? Well he is my favourite boy. Ok. That is that all.

2. Ditto by New Jeans. Australians in KPOP always outsell but an Australian-Vietnamese Girl in KPOP? Represent, Pham Hanni. This song and the MVs were like a shot of Nostalgia Cocaine straight into my veins. It hit really hard in a way I was not expecting and I was thinking about all the friends from school that I don’t see anymore. I hope they continue to provide to us with great, well written (age appropriate) music. I have my own issues with their management and can only hope good things for them in the future. This just came out like 5 minutes ago and I already love it.

1. Love Dive by IVE. Even if I didn’t like this song (which I do), I can comfortable give it the title of Song of the Year. This is the perfect representation of them as a concept: high teen, unattainable but not intimidating, cool but not in a way that alienates kids who grew up unpopular. The minimalistic structure and tight production of this song is 10/10 but the things that truly made it for me are the ethereal angel vocals and that beat pause before the chorus at the end. The choices......they are flawless. Future Classic already.

Bobby/Kim Jiwon Scenario

Request: 16. Bobby please✨

Prompt: “You look like an idol.” “Who?” And then you mentioned the name of the guy who’s talking to you.

“Oh God, I’m so sorry!”

“It’s fine...”

Saturday night, around 11PM to be precise. You sighed deeply as you looked down to what used to be coffee in your grasp, spilled as you got out the convenient store. Just your luck, a guy decided to go in, very quickly too, when you went out the door. You had not even sipped the coffee yet. Thankfully, it didn’t ruin your shoes but it was still an unfortunate event.

“Why is this person not looking at me?”

Standing in front of you was a guy quite taller than you. His hair was messy, almost looked like he just got up from bed, with his baggy pants and sweaters, layered with another jacket. A dark grey face mask was covering his face. You could barely see his eyes with how messy his hair were, and also, the looking away thing. Him looking away seemed more of trying to hide his face, rather than an expression of embarrassment or shyness.

“I’ll buy you a new one very quick—“

The guy quickly moved to ran back in the convenient store, it seemed like he was in such hurry and distressed, but you called him. “Wait,”

Silence.

“You look like an idol.” You blurted without thinking. “But I couldn’t quite put my finger on who...”

“Who?!” The guy replied quickly. There was a hint of nervousness in the tone of his voice, but you couldn’t really tell why.

“Uh, you know that guy from ikon? What was his name again...” You hummed. “B.I? No, the other one, Bobby... Yeah, Bobby!!!” You laughed at your own words. “Sorry, I’m a little random sometimes.”

“Uh...” The man awkwardly looked at you. “You still want the coffee? I mean, I don’t mind buying you two even.”

“Nah, it’s alright. I have plenty of that cheap-brand coffee at home anyway!” You laughed.

“I insist.”

You widened your eyes in amusement for a second. “Alright then, make it two, but the other one’s for you. How’s that sound?”

“Cool.” He shrugged and started walking back inside the store, with you following him from behind.

“So, what’s your name anyway?” You asked out of the blue when both of you reached the cashier.

The guy looked back at you for a good second, almost like the question you asked was so unbelievable.

“What? Oh... you thought I was hitting on you, huh?” You rolled your eyes.

“What?! No! I mean...” He shook his head, thanking the cashier after, as he grabbed the two cans of coffee. “Wanna sit down for a while? I mean, if you’re not in a hurry that is...”

“So, now YOU are hitting on me?” You folded your arms, grinning.

He finally broke into a laugh. His eyes turned into crescents. “My name’s Jiwon.” He said as he handed you the coffee.

You grabbed the can and told him your name. “I have a day off tomorrow anyway, so... yeah! I don’t mind sitting down for a while.”

“Alright.” He said casually, but immediately stopped his tracks. “Wait, does my name not ring any bell to you?”

“What bell again?” You laughed while pushing the store door open for both of you.

“Forget it.”

“You know what? I like your sense of humor, I think it kinda matches mine!” You laughed again as you sat down. “I like people with dry jokes!”

“Sure.” He laughed too and took the chair next to you. “What do you do anyway?”

“I’ve just graduated from university three months ago, but I decided to take some short course this summer before I jump into the work field.” You explained. “You?”

“I don’t really know if I should tell you what I do for a living...” He chuckled.

You gasped quietly. “Don’t tell me you’re some kind of drug dealer or something???”

He laughed, this time, out loud. “You’re so funny, I swear to God.”

For some odd reason, your heart skipped one beat.

“Don’t avoid the question!” You almost stutter.

“Hmm...” Jiwon rubbed his chin, thinking. “Let’s just say I work in the music industry...”

“Wow!!!” You beamed. “What are you, some kind of music composer? Writer?”

The guy laughed again and shook his head in disbelief. “You could say so.”

“Which entertainment are you working for? SM? No, AOMG? You kinda look like someone who could be friends with Jay Park!” You said excitedly. “Sorry, it’s the caffeine, I get a little too excited sometimes.” You giggled.

“I don’t mind.” Although you couldn’t see his face through the mask, his eyes turned into crescents again. You knew he was smiling. “No, I don’t work for AOMG sadly.”

“What a bummer! I was about to ask you to introduce me to Gray too!!!” You joked.

“You like hiphop?”

“I guess? I never really take too much time to memorize all the artists’ names though.” You shrugged. “The only guys I recalled clearly were Jay Park and Gray, and I guess, those two guys from ikon that I said kinda looked like you earlier.”

He suddenly cleared his throat. “Uh... Enough talking about me, you mentioned about taking a short course?”

“Oh, yeah, I’m taking some digital illustration class around four to five times a week.” You replied excitedly, totally oblivious that the guy you were talking with, was changing the topic.

“Awesome.” He said, amused. “You uh, draw human and stuff? Or just you know, cartoony, or I don’t know... I really don’t know too much about art.” He awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

“I’m focusing on fashion illustration, and also some advertising. Occasionally I do paintings too, but that’s just purely to waste some time...”

“Ah, I have a friend who’s super into painting as well!” He said with excitement, that he at least knew something.

“Oh? Do you have their Instagram or something? Can I see their works?”

Jiwon cursed silently. He really did not think the words that escaped his mouth through.

He couldn’t exactly show Mino from Winner’s Instagram account, can’t he?

“Wait... I— Oh, thank the heavens!”

“Huh?”

He took his phone out from his pocket, and swiped through his gallery for a while, before showing it to you.

“He sent this to me a few days ago, it’s his latest and I don’t think he has posted it online yet.”

You took your time to analyze the artwork. “Hmm... he has a very distinct style, it’s colorful yet dark at the same time.” Your eyes were still fixated on the phone. “I like it though, it seems like it has a deeper meaning.”

The lad smiled at you secretly. Admiring how passionate you were talking about art, that made you seem even more attractive.

Time passed by so quickly. Both of you were so indulged into the conversation, that was basically pure random talk, that you did not realize that it had been almost three hours since you dropped a can of coffee to the ground, and a stranger with messy hair insisted on buying you another can.

“Whoa! It’s already this late?!” You were shocked when you saw your watch. “Yah, we should probably head back now...”

“Yeah, you’re right.” He sighed. “I have to admit though,”

“Admit what?”

“I kinda don’t want our conversation to end this early... You can say I’m hitting on you all you want!” He giggled.

Another beat was skipped.

“You know what... yeah, it’s mutual!” You giggled too, but a blush crept onto your cheeks without you realizing.

It seemed like he was grinning from eye to eye, you could not really tell because of the mask. Speaking of the mask, he had not been taking them off since you first met him, making you curious of how he would look without it.

“Where do you live? Is it far? I can take you back home if you want.”

“I-It’s okay, I can just take a cab.” Did I just stutter?

“My place is nearby and I don’t mind.” He said, shrugging.

“No really, exactly why I don’t want you to do so.” You refused politely.

“Then I’ll pay for your cab?”

“No, Jiwon... you don’t have to—”

“I insist, again.” He winked.

This time, you were sure your heart was about to stop.

Just the luck, a cab immediately drove by, and he quickly called it. “Give me your number.” He suddenly said.

“I thought you wasn’t going to ask.” You smirked playfully, but deep down, your heart was doing a backflip.

“So I can pay you back on the cab!”

“Does that mean I’ll see you again in the future?” You hummed, liking the idea.

“Yeah...” He folded his arms. “Probably, most probably.”

“Alright.” You cheekily grinned after you typed your number on his phone. “Umm, I’ll see ya?”

“I’ll text you later.” He waved.

The whole trip back to your house, you could not stop smiling to yourself like an idiot. You literally felt like you were a high schooler again. It had been quite some time that you had not met a somewhat “romantic” encounter, if you could call it that.

You were too smitten, that you actually forgot that until you both bid your goodbyes, you still had not see the face behind his mask.

Just a few minutes after you arrived home, with a little unsettled feelings because of the face mask thingy, a notification popped up on your phone.

“Hey! Arrived safely? I forgot to... you know, show you my face today, didn’t I?” Followed by a grinning emoji.

You wasted no time in replying back. “What are you gonna do about it then? Send me a selfie?” You teased.

A minute later, another notification popped up again.

“I hope this doesn’t seem like a catfish lol. You can call me Bobby too, if you want!”

You did not expect him to actually send you a picture.

Nor did you expect him to look that handsome.

Also, you didn’t exactly expect him to be...

ACTUALLY BOBBY FROM iKON???

Bobby is just doing the social distancing y'all, that’s why he didn’t open the mask 😂😂😂

Jokes aside, I hope everyone’s staying safe and healthy. Please don’t just go outside because you’re bored at home like... I’m so sick of those kind of people :(

Pairing: Zico x Fem! reader

It has been about a year since my heartbreaking break up and six months since Zico and I have been together. With the help of my brother, Zico, and our friends I eventually healed. Hanbin was my first love, my high school sweetheart, so he will always have a piece of my heart. I will always love him, however, that doesn’t mean that I am in love with him.

Jiho got me to come out of my warm shell and fall into the cold world. He got me so confident that I auditioned at a small entertainment company, with reasonable rules. I get to debut tomorrow with my songs, I will show you (A/n: ori. By Aliee) and Perhaps love ft Zico,and we will be singing Zico’s song soulmate. My debut stage was a huge success and it is mostly thanks to my boyfriend zico, we are both going to be on weekly idol together along with Ikon. I am very nervous to see Hanbin again but I will have Jiho by my side. When we get to Weekly idol’s set the host introduces Ikon, then Zico, and lastly he says “Our final guest today is a recently debuted idol that is blowing up the charts with amazing songs. Please let’s welcome the one, the only….Y/N!!!”

I start to walk out as “I will show you" played over the speakers. When I am out in front of everyone I properly introduce myself when the music stops. “Hello everyone I am Y/n!” With a smile, I set down next Zico, “So, Y/n is there anyone here that you do not know?”

“No, I happen to know everyone here, BI and I went to school together. I met Ikon at a party my brother hosted where I also met Zico.” I say while leaving out the part about BI and I dating in case he has to be silent about it.

I see the host nod his head and ask BI about Ikon’s recent songs and the inspiration. “The songs I want to talk about the most are: perfect, love scenario, I’m okay, goodbye road, don’t forget, kill me, and apology. All these songs I wrote because of things that had happened in my first relationship. The relationship had lasted from age 13 to age 21, I messed up, really bad. I don’t go a day without regretting what I did greatly.”

“If I may ask what did you do to mess up that long of a relationship?” the host asks.

“Um...The last six months of my relationship I was unfaithful,-” Hanbin says while looking down

“Y/N, I regret every terrible act and every mean thing I said to you, the songs show a glimpse of how I felt about our relationship and how it ended. When I was writing a love scenario I was okay with us loving each other and parting with those memories. Then with I’m okay the regret started to kick in fast, I was barely sleeping. My mom, little sister, and bandmates resented me for at least six months and when people would ask how I was I would say ‘I’m okay.’ even though I was far from it. Goodbye road was about the last two months of our relationship, you no longer trusted me and all we did was fight. I honestly never intended to cause you pain. Apology is me apologizing for never being around or there the last six months of the relationship, killing me is me at the beginning and middle of my regret. I would be fine then I would stumble across pictures, songs, and couple items that would have a heavy effect on me. Even when I ignored your tears at the height of our break up I wanted nothing more than to say it’s okay while I wiped your tears. Don’t forget, simple I never wanted you to forget about us, the things we did, I didn’t want you to forget the good things about me. We were together from our young teenage year to when we were adults, I wanted to marry you when the time was right. I want you to be happy because for a long time you made me very happy. And perfect is me wanting you back and it is far too late, at this time I also realized that everything I was feeling and experiencing was so deserved. You didn’t deserve what I did to you and our relationship.” BI finished what he was saying with tears streaming down his face.

The host lets out a breath and asks me about my songs. “ My song I’ll show you is about me not feeling good enough. I did break up with BI but he was the one that decided to leave the moment he saw that other woman. This was me saying I was going to come back stronger, hotter, and happier and I wasn’t going to allow B.I to ever hurt me again. Don’t touch me was written right after my breakup because I was grossed out with what he had done and the fact that he had the nerve to crawl back to me to try to apologize for something he was not sorry for.”

“What about your songs perhaps love and a lot like love?” “A lot like love is the feeling of allowing myself to love again and hoping the person feels the same still, and perhaps love is when I started to question on when, how, and why I started to fall for the person a lot like love is about,” I say with a smile.

“If I may ask, do you still love Hanbin?”

With a sigh, I say “ Han bin was my very first love, even though I am no longer IN love with him that doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn't still own a piece of my heart and honestly he always will.”

“Are you in a relationship now? And If so are you allowed to say who?” “Yes, as of six months ago I have been in a happy relationship.” I subtly side-eye zico to see if it is okay to go public. He nods once and grabs my hand, “With Zico!” I say as we hold are intertwined hands up.

Everyone lets out a noise of surprise with wide eyes “Really?” the host asks. “Yes it is very true, I along with hyoseob and more of our friends was there to help pick up the pieces to y/n shattered heart. I always made sure she got out into the world instead of sulking at home, I saw that she was writing amazing songs and I encouraged her to audition at an entertainment company.” Zico confesses.

“Are we allowed to know any more details on the breakup?” “Yes, because I don’t want rumors to start and I want everyone to be on the same page.” I pause then start again after a deep breath.

“It was Penomeco's Birthday party at the club, I invited BI to be my plus one, but he said that he had to work late at the studio. So I get ready and Zico picks me up. After 5 minutes of being at Peno's Party, Zico goes and gets me a drink, while I am waiting I go talk to DJ Millic. He points out that BI was there with another girl and I see Bi with this girl in his lap making out. When Zico gets back he sees that I am about to cry. Dean, Millic, and Zico drag Hanbin outside. My brother Crush takes me upstairs to comfort me. When Zico brought BI upstairs to me he had a black eye and a busted lip, he got on his knees and started to beg for me to forgive him. In return I said save it you’re only sorry you got caught. I then told him that I could not do this anymore and asked if he even loved me. He didn’t respond, so I told him that I wanted him out of my house and that he could live in the dorm. I proceeded to change the locks and my phone number only giving it to my inner circle and June because I knew he would not give it to BI.”

“wow...BI did you get beat up?”

“Yes, Y/n brother told me when we were dating that if I ever hurt her I would get beat up. Maybe it was not going to be him but it would happen. Zico was angry but he only wanted to talk and I knew that I deserved to get punched so I told the boys that they should do it for Y/N and crush. I was more scared of Crush punching me than I was of Zico and Millic. My advice for anyone who is thinking about cheating on their partner...Don’t it is not worth it in the end. Trust me I know.”

*TIME SKIP*

The news platforms have been blowing up with support for Zico’s and I’s relationship, there have even been fan accounts that have been made for us. Under our SNS pictures and posted comments like ‘Couple goals’ or ‘Fav couple’ and “My OTP’ were always found and occasionally I would get comments like “I am very glad that you and Zico are finally getting your guys happy ending.” of course there was some hate but the positive outweighs the hate.

“Baby Girl, what are you thinking about?” Jiho asks while pulling my back to his chest and puts his face into my neck placing pillow-soft kisses. While listening as I tell him about all the support we have been blessed with.

Summary: Yoona's been having a hard time sleeping lately and she finally tells someone why.

note: this was written when I first started this blog but I never posted it cause at the time I wasn’t happy with it, however I was going through my drafts and now I like it?? so I’m posting it :) hope you enjoy~

Yunhyeong climbed onto the king size mattress, lying onto his side and facing Yoona. They mirrored each other’s position; laying on their side with an arm under the pillow, looking into the other’s eyes. Yoona had gone to bed before the others and Yunhyeong wanted to check up on her before he himself went to bed. However, when he entered the younger girl’s room, he was a met with a plea asking him to stay.

Lately Yoona had trouble sleeping, but no one knew why. Every time they asked, she either shook them off or got irritated and gave the whole group the silent treatment like a five year old did when they weren’t allowed to get chocolate at the market.

The couple stayed in bed like that for almost fifteen minutes before Yoona whispered an ‘I’m sorry.’

“For what?” Yunhyeong asked softly.

“I know you’ve all been worried and I’ve been nothing but rude.”

Yunhyeong softly caressed Yoona’s cheek. “It’s okay. We’re not mad.”

“But it was wrong of me. I know I should talk to at least one of you, and I want to, but every time I try to I just chicken out because I’m scared.”

“Of what?”

“Of what you’ll think or say.”

“Yoona-ah, we love you. We respect you. Nothing you say could change that. We’ll always have your back and be by your side.”

Yoona turned around so her back was facing Yunhyeong. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes shut. “I’m thinking of leaving.” She mumbled hoping the older boy didn’t hear.

Yunhyeong did hear it, however. He pulled Yoona into him and flipped her around once more so she was facing him. “Why?” He asked gently.

Yoona buried her face into his chest. “I don’t fit in, Oppa. I never did. I don’t belong in iKON or anywhere in the industry.” Her words were muffled, but Yunhyeong heard them clearly. His gripped tightened around Yoona as he felt his shirt starting to get wet from Yoona’s tears.

"Why? Why would you even think that? You think iKON would be iKON without you? We wouldn't. Just because you're a girl in a male group doesn't mean you don't fit in. It's what makes iKON, iKON. It wouldn't be the same if any one of us left. And your talent, Yoona-ah. You're so talented. You need to show it to the world. It'd be a waste to not show the world what you're capable of."

"I know that Oppa," Yoona sniffled. "I meant that I don't know if this is what I really want anymore."

Yunhyeong knew what Yoona was talking about. They all knew Yoona's passion for writing. How she had a dream of being a best selling author. But when her old best friend dragged her along to audition and passed, she decided to be a trainee just for fun, not planning on making music a career. But when she entered the company she soon gained a love for rapping. Being praised by the staffs did nothing but fuel the newly found hunger and she soon became an idol.

She eventually became distant with her family because they didn't approve of her choices. She lost a best friend because she didn't pass the audition like Yoona did and the jealousy became too much. She turned her passion for writing into writing songs, forgetting about the short stories she used to write everyday. Her imagination started to dwindle to the point where she couldn't write a story, only a diary entry of her day. The one thing she could use as a getaway had slowly diminished to the point where she didn't know what to do when the world became too much for her.

She couldn't put those feelings into songs as much as she tried and she couldn't find another way to let it out. It had started to eat at her and she didn't know what to do. What was once her safety cushion was now the thing that made her want to quit and lose everything.

so ty is a softie

we all know that

but he’s also a hardworking leader and it can be hard for him to be your soft boyfie

so when he started his world tour with nct 127 he had to leave

and he was really exhausted

especially after performing onstage in front of thousands of people

but he tried his best to be there for you

so when he decided to give you a call before heading to bed he started to notice something was wrong

but before our story starts let me give you some background information

so taeyong knows that you struggle with your body

in fact, you two have had many late night talks about how you should be more confident

there’s this one thing that taeyong always says to you at the end of all of those talks

“Y/n just remember that even on the days when you can’t look in mirrors you’re still the most beautiful person in the room.”

it always made your heart flutter

it was cheesy but that’s what made it special

but anyways going back to the story

when taeyong called you and saw your face takeover most of his phone screen an immediate smile took over his features

“how was work,you look tired?”

“fine, do i really?”

“yeah you look pale did you sleep well”

this is when taeyong started to notice something was off with you

he can usually tell when you’re lying

your features were sharper than usual

and you were a lot paler

you looked away from the camera

BI: He’d be super happy because he loves kids. You were super excited to tell him because you’ve been wanting kids for a while and BI was the perfect husband.

Bobby: At first, he was super nervous and worried if he would be a good father, but you reassured him that you’ll be right by his side.

Jay: He would be so excited to take care of you and his future son/daughter. He also had a feeling you were expecting since your period was a few days late and you’ve been extra lazy lately. He made sure to give you lot so of back hugs with his hands resting on your belly (even before you started to show).

Junhoe: You were nervous to tell him because you were both busy with school and touring and all, but he was very happy. He already snickered a bit and said that his child looks just like him and began to blast some Michael Jackson music.

Song: Cutie here would be really nervous at first. He really wants to be the best dad ever and make sure his child is spoiled. He also started to look up potential names too. He is the definition of nervous energy.

DK: He has wanted kids from the start and he’d scream and hugged you at the same time ater you told him. DK was more excited than you and gave you a billion kisses on your belly.

Chanwoo: Probably would pass out tbh. He would be so shook with excitement and nervousness. The first thing he would do is make room in your apartment for a crib and started to buy supplies. Also made sure to go out a lot and sleep a lot. He gave you the biggest hug and couldn’t believe there was going to be a mini him running around the apartment.

Sorry for such the late response (tumblr did not notify me of this message??) but as of now a few of the members have posted on instagram but not about the issue going on…bobby captioned his insta post saying he didnt want to talk about the politics of it all and i feel like we should all respect their wishes and let them figure this all out within the company and as friends

this issue is very complicated and we shouldnt be upset if one of his many friends that are in the show business dont say anything, they sadly need to think of their success and image in the eyes of the public but i’m sure Lee Hi and everyone else has spoken to hanbin and support him!

A/N: [This was some what requested.] Lowkey kinda nervous to post this one and see your guys’ reaction. But I had fun writing this one! It was different to how I’ve written Bao, and I liked it. Hope you guys do too!

Bao walked up to the door at the end of the hall and punched in the code. It chimed to let her know that it was now unlocked and that she could enter. She removed her Airforces and walked into the kitchen.

It had been a long day with practice and studio time, and Bao was beat. She hadn’t realized just how much work taking out her own album would be. Though she wasn’t really complaining. Bao was one of the people who liked to keep busy. The harder she worked, the better the album would be. iKonics were so excited to hear the news, and she couldn’t let them down.

Placing a plastic bag with sodas down on the counter and the box of pizza, she looked around the apartment. The walls were still pretty bare, books and music sheets littered the floor and coffee table, and there still was no TV.

Bao hadn’t expected anything more, really. She liked it. It was simple yet perfect. There was no need for any over the top decor, though she wasn’t one to talk seeing as both her bedroom and studio at the company had some pretty expensive items.

She stilled as a pair of arms lazily wrapped around her waist from behind. Smiling at the familiar scent, Bao placed her hands over the ones clasped on her stomach.

“Hey.” The word was whispered into her neck.

“Hi,” she said, tilting her head back slightly to offer a kiss on the cheek. She laughed when her lips met lips instead of cheek. “Yah, Hanbin-ah,” Bao shook her head, turning to fully face him. Hanbin smiled softly as she looped her arms around his waist.

“You’re late,” he said, his lips forming a pout. He nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck, and breathed in. “I was so lonely,” he whined into her skin.

“I’m sorry. I got held up at the studio trying to finish some work, and Bobby had to cover for me, ‘cause Jaehyun-oppa was asking what my plans for the evening were,” Bao chuckled, petting his hair. Hanbin was like a cat sometimes. He just needed physical affirmation. Bao normally struggled with that, but with him it was different. It was always different.

“Why did Jaehyun want to know what your plans for tonight were?” Hanbin asked, head shooting up to look at Bao. She raised a brow at his slightly jealous tone. He cleared his throat, then said, “I mean, like is he getting suspicious?”

Bao smirked at the red that tinged his cheeks. “Nice save,” she said, pulling away and giving his cheek a pat. “And no. He’s not suspicious. Yet. Surprisingly, the boys are really good at keeping secrets.” Bao moved to the hallway and into his bedroom. Hanbin followed behind her.

“Then why?” he asked Bao, watching as she grabbed a pair of basketball shorts from his drawer.

“He wanted to treat the group for dinner,” Bao said, shrugging. She kicked her jeans off and put on the shorts, smirking as she heard Hanbin suck in a breath.

“What did Ji tell him?”

“Bad cramps. I’m supposed to be at the dorm sleeping,” Bao answered, gathering up her hair and throwing it up in a messy bun. She debated on keeping her crop top on or switching to one of Hanbin’s shirts, but decided to keep her own on for now.

“Ah.” Bao looked up at him, raising her brows and smirking.

“Yeah,” she said, walking over to him. Stopping a few inches from his face, she said, “I told the boys I’m spending the night.” Then she walked out of the room. Bao heard Hanbin curse under his breath, and she smiled smugly.

Walking back to the kitchen, she grabbed plates from one of the cabinets and served both of them a slice of pizza. Hanbin, who seemed to have composed himself for the most part, walked past her to grab the drinks that she had brought. The two then moved to the couch and made themselves comfortable.

Bao sat with her back pressed against the arm rest, her legs draped over Hanbin’s lap. He balanced his plate on her legs, and placed his drink on the table.

She placed her drink next to his, then sat back and took a bite out of her pizza. She smiled as his hand carefully found her’s, their fingers lacing together. They sat eating, quietly. The silence was comfortable, and Bao missed moments like this.

Ever since his departure, it had been hard for either of them to see each other. At first Bao, couldn’t bring herself to go and see him, fearing the emotions that resided in her. Then Hanbin thought it would be safer to stop seeing each other in general, so as not to jeopardize her career. But after seeing how miserable the two were when apart, the boys convinced them to get back together. (Fuck YG, right?)

When they finally agreed to secretly meet, their rendezvouses were far and few in between. Hanbin had court hearings and Bao had group schedules. There was just never any time. Facetime and texting was how they held out until they’d meet again.

This past year and a half had been the hardest in the three years that they’d been together. And yet here they were, alive and together. Though obviously, they’d pictured being together a bit differently when they first started dating.

About half an hour later, Hanbin had finished off two more slices of pizza and Bao just one more. Bazzi was playing from Hanbin’s speakers in the corner of the living room, and the world outside was forgotten.

They had moved to the floor at some point, Hanbin lying on his back, Bao’s head resting on his chest. He was humming along to I Got You and Bao could feel the vibrations in his chest.

She focused on the steady beat of his heart, the rhythm lulling her to sleep. Hanbin had pulled her hair out of its bun, always preferring it out then tied up, and was gently carding his fingers through it.

“Hey, B?” Bao hummed, eyes still closed. “Your tattoo of the two coy fish. What’s it mean? I’ve been meaning to ask,” Hanbin said, his hand traveling to her right forearm. He traced the two fish circling the yin and yang sign.

Bao opened her eyes, moving her arm in view. She moved her head, left arm now resting on Hanbin’s chest, her chin propped up on it. Looking at Hanbin, she spoke. “It’s us.”

Hanbin still held her arm, thumb now tracing the yin and yang. “Us?” he asked, eyes traveling to meet with hers.

“Yeah. So, the black one is me and you’re the white one. Black is feminine while white is masculine,” she began, and Hanbin silently turned back to the tattoo. Bao watched him as she continued. “Coy fish swimming upstream mean overcoming obstacles, while swimming downstream mean finding the inner strength to overcome obstacles.”

“Why am I going upstream and not you?” he asked, his voice was measured.

Bao sat up and so did Hanbin. He leaned his back against the couch, legs spread for Bao to sit in between. Her back was pressed to his chest, and Hanbin found her arm again, brushing over the ink.

“I felt like even though you went through hell this past year and a half, things are finally starting to look up for you. Little by little, you’ll make your way back. So I feel like you’re overcoming,” Bao said, shrugging. She intertwined her hand with his free one.

“And you?”

“I’m still figuring things out. With being a leader, with you gone, and just everything, I guess. I don’t know. It’s just what I thought,” Bao said, not being able to form the proper words. It had nothing to do with the language and all to do with the emotions behind the meaning.

“I guess that makes sense. I know you’ll overcome too. You just gotta give it time,” Hanbin said, bringing her arm up to his face and placing gentle kisses on each fish.

Bao felt herself relax at the gesture. She turned to face Hanbin, and smiled. She didn’t need to say anything, Hanbin already knew.

They slowly leaned in, lips meeting, and Bao smiled into the kiss. Kissing Hanbin was like lying in the sun on a lazy afternoon, soaking in the rays. It was addicting. Hanbin was like the sun, and Bao found herself wanting to lie there forever.

She pulled away, then leaned her head against his chest. Bao sighed as he held her close, his cheek resting on her head, as Renee’s Song started to play.
