Benedict Bridgerton didn’t consider himself to be the jealous type. After all, he had only ever been interested in one woman, and she had yet to show herself, or return to his life in any capacity. But now there was Sophie Baek, and despite her refusal to become his mistress, he still wanted her. Perhaps it was her refusal that made him want her more. He was used to being chased, and now the shoe was on the other foot. Though she shut down every attempt to pursue her, he was certain she was getting close to giving in.

At least, he had been certain, until he’d seen her with another man. Someone of her station, speaking to her at the back of the house. She laughed, and something in Benedict’s chest twisted. He hadn’t even realized he was glowering until Anthony approached, an amused grin on his face.

“What?” Benedict barked, before realizing his tone was much too harsh. He tried again, calmer.

“What?”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look so angry, brother,” Anthony said. His eyes quickly swept over the scene, then lit with a light Benedict promptly decided he hated.

“Wait a minute,” Anthony said, “are you jealous?”

Benedict’s cheeks burned. He didn’t say a word. Anthony’s laughter was raucous, drawing the attention of Sophie and the man. Benedict elbowed his brother roughly, turning them both away.

“I have no idea why you’re laughing. You were insufferable before you married Kate.”

“But I did marry her, Ben. I’m not still watching her from afar, praying she’ll change her mind about me.”

To that Benedict scowled, crossing his arms angrily over his chest. Anthony sighed.

“Just tell her how you feel.”

“That’s rich, coming from you.”

Benedict sighed a moment later, relenting, “I’ll think about it.”

“Well, you’d better think fast,” Anthony warned, “lest Sophie decide she’s tired of waiting.”

I actually drew this one a while ago but I couldn't be bothered to write up a bio until now. So, uhhhh... sorry 'bout that, but here she is!

- Sad mom. Constantly looks tired - Rosemary becomes extremely reclusive and quiet after her death and usually keeps to herself - Barely speaks anymore. The only people she regularly speaks to is Rocket - Cries very easily - Extremely emotionally unstable and traumatized. Everyone is to a degree but she's especially so. - Keeps herself busy through constantly drawing random things she finds around the K-9 facility, like fallen pipes or random knick-knacks Charles finds in the supply closets. Rocket also likes to bring her stuff they found during one of their late night excursions - Doesn't know where Jack is and is very torn up about it - Her biggest regret is leaving Sophie behind and hopes she's safe and happy, wherever she is - She has... complicated feelings about being stuffed into Sha, considering she designed all the animatronics and Sha was her favorite - On that note, she can't help but feel a bit of guilt for designing the animatronics and wishes she never did so - Is fucking TERRIFIED of Bon. Even the merest glimpse of him makes her panic - The one bright side of this situation though is that she's reunited with Edd and Molly - Currently hates Felix's guts for not just allowing Bon to kill them, but also for even getting drunk in the first place, burying Edd and Molly in the woods, and being so much of a coward that he LIED to her and Jack about what happened. If they ever met up again... well, let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.

maddie!! hi hey hello thank you for the message. let’s see… if I had to pick five of my fics, I’d probably pick:

everything I’ve ever let go of has claw marks on it (nancymarjan, a nancy character study that I’m really proud of that is in no small part inspired by my own experience as a lonely kid) — if you’re not a nancymarjan shipper, this would be the 911ls fic of mine that I’d recommend! not because it’s not full of nancymarjan, it is, but because I’m very proud of the breadth it gives nancy as a character.

now I’ve read all of the books beside your bed (donnajoey, an established relationship fic that fits into canon and includes their first I love you’s) — I first read donnajoey as a part of @cauldronoflove’s west wing series and then read all like. Half a dozen fics that exist in the tag afterward. I became really touched by this as a ship and am really glad I figured out a fic to write for them. I especially loved getting a chance to stretch my wings writing a mix of speaking and asl in this one.

give the sorrow words (kind of maggiesophie, primarily a maggie & sophie & grief character study) — maggie collins the woman that you are. I really wanted to write a fic that looked at what role maggie played in sophie’s mourning with nate’s death between leverage og and leverage: redemption. much like my nancy character study, I’m really proud of the love that went into this and the character it provides a slightly minor character.

only / the sun has come this close, only the sun (kacy spiderman au, part five. hurt/comfort and their first kiss in the series) — okay, I thought long and hard about which of the spiderlucy au to include here, because it’s a series I’m really proud of and one that I think is a lot of fun. I ultimately went with the fifth installment because it involves their first kiss and I think it’s so achingly sweet and sad all at once. it’s also the fic that prompted fanart from @magicalstripedhorse which is so huge for me. baby’s first fic fanart!

until what I love misses me, and calls me in. (ronance nye, @pacinglikeghosts head canon for nancy’s birthday, an engagement!) — I have a lot a lot a lot of ronance fics (at writing, they’re my most written for ship on ao3!), but I think this one, post-canon and a look at the party and ronance domesticated, is really good. you’re gonna notice a pattern here and it’s that my favorite pieces are the ones that are the sweetest, for one reason or another, and this definitely fits in that camp.
