Family Feud Nominations, Who is the Best Doctor Who Family

If I've missed a character out of one of the families let me know (within reason, I imagine all these families are massive in the EU, so prioritise tv or significant characters)

Currently, the only rule is no families may inculde anyone who is even ambiguously The Doctor, it'll get super complicated super fast imo

Any characters, eg River, who can link up multiple different families to create a single massive family unit will be treated on a case by case basis. If it is possible to pick one of the smaller family units that they are a part of to include them in while not including them in any of the others (in a way everyone will agree at least makes sense) they will be included in that family only, otherwise they will not be included

Please bare in mind when you are nominating that I am hoping to keep the number of nominations under 64 to run this as a mini-tournament. This is not a hard rule so if nominations do exceed 64 its not a big deal, just something I'd like everyone to bare in mind

your attitude towards Black queer women is nasty and there's nothing stereotypical about a Black (possibly) lesbian character. on top of that, yall was on here the other day talm bout some "taking stuff from black men" but who woulda been seated for a yet another Black man chasing after a yt woman anyway and tryna use sex to control her??? franchaela are going to have a happy ending even if a little bit unconventional (we literally don't know how bridgerton's societal landscape will change by then) but what's the difference between them already living out quiet lives away from the ton and.....continuing to do that? it wouldn't be out of shame but out of what they want while it just so happens to protect them? what exactly would be different than what benophie woulda had to do??? who also had to go to the country to limit the risk of folks inquiring about sophie. it's the same thing and yet your issue seems to be that it's not a Black woman with a white man who harassed her to be his mistress and refused to see her as anything but that. i have no doubt the show will change that part of their dynamic but that seems to be something you want to stay in tact and you need to unpack that cause it's pathetic. you should want better.

They aren’t going to change shit because their MO isn’t to uplift Black women of any kind. So what you really want me to do is cheer on what will be a promiscuous Black woman chasing after or romancing a married white woman(her cousin-in-law) who will have to end up hiding out in the country for the rest of her life to escape persecution. You want me to pretend like it’s somehow the same/a better story than a Black woman being chased after, who gets the marriage, the adoring spouse, the children, doesn’t have to live in hiding or else she’ll be jailed, etc.

I’m not happy that they made Marina half-Black when they know she has to die to give Eloise a happily ever after. I’m not happy that they had Lady Danbury get raped every five seconds in Queen Charlotte and tried to play it off for laughs. Or that she remained alone with her children hating her. I wont even mention Guinevere, who is only there either to be a sexual experimentation or a side kick to the non-Blacks. Not to mention she like Lady Danbury is just another iteration of the strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

Alice is another side character so I'm not happy that the best we’ll get in terms of a Black-ish main character is Queen Charlotte who unlike the Bridgertons doesn't exactly have a fully functioning marriage. Lastly I’m not happy that they pulled this stunt after pulling the other fifty eleven stunts when it comes to their Blackish female characters. They do the bar minimum and give us the worst shit so no I’m not going to pretend like it’s all hunky dory.

I’m absolutely disgusted by the treatment we have received by this show. I’m tired of the disrespect. It’s one thing to add drama it’s another to add unnecessary trauma which is all they have given us.

I’m sorry, but it should tell you everything that they refuse to show a Black woman in a loving relationship with a man where shes desired and wanted. Every woman is afforded that but us? No ma’am I’m not falling for this bs.

Sophie should've been Black and this character they've created should’ve stayed in the rough drafts. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Seeiously, though, this episode just... is a lot and hits rather hard and kins of drices home that Prospera is not obly an antagonistic/evil force, but also 1000% off her nut.

So not only is Eri IN THE FUCKNG GUNDAM, she is basically handling the datastorm for Suletta. Though, from the image shown, still BLUE, not RED. Hopefully we get an explanation why this is. (Besides just being like "oh she's IN the machine, so it's different; it was also blue when she was connected to Lfrith).

Also Sophie's whole thing was just... so fucking visceral. And her loss actually made me sad. Yes, yandere witch was not nice, but their hatred of Spacians is warranted to an extent. And for her to burn out trying to reach someome unreachable.. Oof.

Also, we once again have an antagonist who wants to rewrite existence to erase the bad things. And it just made me think of that one world in Endwalker that Meteion shows you in the dungeon...

But yea, some heavy shit dropped this week. Chuchu being a fucking BAMF, as always, but she (and Suletta) had a couple flashes to the battle at the plant that shoq things aren't 100% hunky-dory. (And I am actually GLAD that Suletta bug smuching a dude is starting to actually process for her, if only a little.)

This group of four single friends will attend the Valentine's Day fair, and we'll have lots of fun. At least, that's what Jisung had said, and Chan ended up agreeing to tag along with the rest. However, as he found himself walking around the fair with Minho, Jisung, and you, Chan wondered if maybe, just maybe, he should have considered a little more the offer.

     There were couples everywhere, some sharing gentle moments, and others that definitively didn’t care about their levels of pda, but it wasn’t something uncommon. Everyone would expect to face those situations when attending a Valentine's Day fair because people are diverse, and so are the way in which they show their love. Nevertheless, what Chan didn't expect was to face the couple-stuff right in front of him, making it impossible to ignore.

"I'm feeling overwhelmingly single right now," Chan complained with a pout, getting Jisung to look at him with narrowed eyes.

"What's that even supposed to mean?” Jisung asked, covering his mouth to finish eating the popcorn in his mouth before he could keep talking, “We're literally all single friends in a fair!"

"Yeah, like I get it, there's plenty of couples going around here, but we came to have a good time," you added after Jisung's comment, trying to remind the reason why all of you had attended the fair in the first place: games and good food.

     Chan looked at you perplexed. Were you really telling him that whilst Minho was feeding Jisung some of the popcorn that you were holding? What about the fact that Minho’s free arm was linked with one of yours?

"Uh, yeah, the couples surrounding us, that's what I was talking about," nodding his head, Chan tried his best to avoid the wide smile that wanted to appear on his face. He had to admit it was slightly funny that the three of you were so oblivious about your clingy behaviour.

     Then, you handed the popcorn to Minho and left his side to get to Chan’s side. "Don't mind the couples. I'll win a plushie for you, the biggest and fluffiest one because you're like a teddy bear."

     “Yah! What about my plushie? You promised you would win one for me too. If you don’t, I’ll tell Soonie, Doongie, and Dori you lied.”

     “Hey, don’t get my children into this. I know what I promised, so I’ll win your plushie too, and one for Jisung as well.”

     Before Minho could start discussing how you were trying to take his children away, Chan left your side to walk towards Minho and embrace him tightly, the wide smile displayed on his face allowing you to know how much he loved hugging Minho right away.

“I don’t really care about the plushie as long as I get to hug Minho.”

In response, Minho frowned, as he knew there was no way Chan would let go of him willingly. “Why me? Hug Jisung instead.”

“But your hugs are the best!”

As Minho tried to get away from Chan, Jisung and you took pictures of the two of them, laughing at how Minho looked like a rabbit that had been caught by a smiley teddy bear. It was easy to tell that Minho was only pretending to be annoyed, specially when a smile was trying to break through.

“Alright Chan, enjoy your date with Min,” you said as Jisung waved good-bye before the two of you started walking away, leaving behind a smiley Chan with a very surprised Minho.

“Yah! You can’t leave me like this! I’m taking your Soonie, Doongie, and Dori privileges away.”

CW: Discussions of dementia/Alzheimer's

This is just a quick little vent post, mostly

If you see this, and you read it, and you can relate - you are not alone. This is hard, and I see you - I hope you're doing okay, or as okay as you can be

So my grandad has both. I often joke that he was simply too powerful, he was going to be immortal, they had to nerf him. So, my grandad has both dementia and Alzheimer's. I still don't entirely understand it, because one is a type of the other, but it creates some unique issues.

My grandad appears to be losing his memories randomly, while also going backward in terms of what he remembers, and he's potentially making up false memories in the process. I spent the last five or so years learning to listen when he spoke, because I knew one day I'd mourn the chance I'd lost to learn. Now, when he speaks, I don't know what's Certified Grandad Lore and what's the illness.

He doesn't remember the names of his daughters. He often becomes distressed because his mind works like Dory the fish, and he thinks his eldest daughter Sophie is called Samantha (fake names) and can't find her in his contacts. However, he knows who she is when she's there. He remembers me, I think, and my sibling and my cousins.

He doesn't remember his nephew, barely even seems to remember his brother-in-law who months ago he was telling me I needed to deliver a message of violence to (mostly playful, I think) because he doesn't treasure his wife enough.

I don't know if he remembers me. I wanted him to walk me down the aisle. The last time I saw him, he asked my dad who he was, and then he laughed. I don't know if he was playing off that he needed to be reminded, or he was joking about his own illness.

His wife died of Alzheimer's. My grandmother. Both my dad's parents. His sister-in-law died of Alzheimer's.

For a disease I knew very little of for a long time, and seemed so rare just a few years ago, is so frighteningly involved in my life.

My dad is very serious when he tells me that if he starts developing Alzheimer's or dementia, he intends to kill himself.

There is an increased risk that I will develop one of them. That my sibling will. That my aunts will. That my cousins will.

I fear a day in which my body isn't my own, and I forget that it used to be.

My grandad doesn't think his house is his, but we can't figure out where he thinks he does live. He doesn't remember where the toilet is, and forgets to eat. He's so skinny now, so slow. My grandad used to be untouchable.

My grandad once comforted me after I broke up with an ex by telling me that I should marry a rich man instead. He laughed, and I laughed with him, and it made everything much easier.

The last time I saw him, I wasn't sure that he remembered me, but he assured me that he thought I was doing something good with my life by being at university, because he missed that chance when he was younger and he wished he hadn't. He was narrow minded in his ambitions, and I'm doing well to do differently.

I will graduate, and I will do it for him. I will marry and be happy because that's what he wanted for me. One day, once I'm happier, I'll grow out my hair again because he liked it long. Once I have a job, I'll donate regularly to attempt to get this horrific disease cured.

There is nothing worse than slowly watching your loved one die, and they don't even know they're your loved one.

When you die, you leave behind everyone who loved you, but when you have demenia or alzheimer's, or somethig similar, you don't even know you're leaving them. There's no comfort to be given or gained.

I'm three hours away from home at university and my grandad is dying at home. I live every day dreading my phone ringing with bad news. One day he will die, and he will not walk me down the aisle, and I likely will not have seen him for months.

He will not walk my down the aisle, but I will save him a seat in the front row.
