unpopular opinion:

I think Linh was not in the right for being such a jerk to Tam in the latest book. Like, yeah she has a right to be mad but he did everything to save her life and just got out of a pretty rough situation that probably scarred him forever and she is just mouthing off to him about everything and just generally being a jerk.

I love Linh and everything and she's a good character and ofc every character has their flaws.

But.

Most people I see on here see this behavior and are like "Yas, girlboss" "She ateee" "Tell him, queen" etc.

Like... no? She's being kind of a jerk? And he needs a friend?

I agree that she was not in the right. Every character has moments like that though, and I felt like it was a very good sign of her character’s development: she’s gotten a lot louder, more confident, and more comfortable with her own opinions since we first met her in Neverseen. Those are mostly good traits. From her point of view, her brother came back changed by the neverseen and she’s grappling with the idea that he might be compromised by that in some way, while from his point of view, well, everything you just typed out. So yes, and no. I don’t think she was being a jerk, but I do think she wasn’t seeing tam’s perspective. Their conflict is interesting bc they both, from their own perspectives, seem to have good points. They have reason for thinking they’re in the right.
