I misread my friend's message and wrote a drabble. Have Li Lun picking up a rabbit in Zhuo Yichen's garden.

Zhuo Yichen watched from afar as the demon wrapped into layers of black fabric crouched down in the snow to pick up the small white rabbit. He seemed strangely docile at this distance. Li Lun stared into the rabbit’s black eyes much like he pierced into Zhuo Yichen’s eyes whenever he wandered into their mansion as if it was his home. No. He stared differently at the rabbit. Zhuo Yichen leant forward, as if a few inches changed the distance and his perspective, and realised that there was fondness in Li Lun’s eyes.

A stitch of something between his ribs. So, there were creatures in this world that were gifted a gentler gaze from those unfathomable eyes void of anything but calm rage. And it was a white rabbit more snow than life.

Zhuo Yichen breathed against the stitch in his chest, somehow seemed to tear it open, and ignored the pain by stepping out into the courtyard.

“So,” Zhuo Yichen spoke up as he strutted through the snow. “After all your visits, you finally found what you were looking for.”

Li Lun turned and quirked a brow at him. The rabbit snuggled into his large palm. “I was never searching for anything here in the first place.”

“Suit yourself,” Zhuo Yichen said, avoiding the gaze he had dared to miss for a moment. “What do you plan to do with your new friend?” He pointed half-heartedly at the rabbit, pretending he was not jealous or aching or anything.

“This rabbit is plump and fat. It will make a fine dinner for us.”

Zhuo Yichen gawped at Li Lun, who returned it with a smirk. “You...” Another quirked brow, too handsome on that smirking face. Zhuo Yichen blushed as he bent forward, into Li Lun’s space, and grabbed the rabbit from his hand. “I make you some soup if you’re hungry. Don’t eat what you find on the ground.”

And Li Lun smiled after him as Zhuo Yichen stomped back into the mansion.
