actually i lied because there is one more thing i need to say about saltburn: i see cinephiles judging others for being disturbed by some of the scenes in the film, which (imo) is so condescending and out of touch… the scenes were supposed to be slimy and desperate and bizarre. you’re expected to have a reaction to seeing a man consumed by this devastating desire. it’s a huge part of the story. i am more numb to saltburn than a casual viewer, but i recognize that many people were watching because they saw dreamy jacob elordi so they weren’t expecting it to go south. trying to seem edgier than everyone by bragging you were not phased by saltburn is kinda corny

and this is about to get SO stupid, but sirius hadn't ever fully longed for a relationship, he'd just longed for him. so remus wasn't his boyfriend. he was his past, his present, his future. he was his best friend. the love of his life. peace. he was a good night's sleep, a blanket fort on stormy nights, a fire on cold ones. the moon when things got a little dark, the sun when they were overly so. the ricochet of light that kept sirius' stars shining, sometimes. and he often turned out to be the stupid smile on sirius' face, the blush of his cheeks.
