TLK: Kings and Successions Gen 1

Introducing my project Kings And Successions, which shows every Ruler + the Lion Guard of The Pridelands before Scar's reign

Starting with whom started it all, Generation 1

I will talk about the most important stuff that happened in each gen

Romulus was The First King. He came into The Pridelands along his brother Marcus and his friends running away from a previous territory that only treated lions as beasts to kill other predators. Before settling in The Pridelands, all of them learned from a secret pride called The Night Pride, whom showed Romulus that there was a way to live in peace with different animals.

Marcus/Askari is Romulus' brother, he was the one who listened most to The Night Pride lessons, earning knowledge that allowed him to contact his ancestors and get help if needed. His pray, his ROAR, was earned when he saved The Tree of Life from a fire with the help of an elephant herd. He changed his name to Askari after that incident. Him and Axia are mates.

This generation's story is going to be more touched in a comic im going to be making after Perfectly Valued. Specifically the fight against the "Evil Lions" (event that ensured Romulus as King)

Aldhelm's Brooch

Handmade by me, from Super Sculpey polymer clay, and painted with acrylic paints to resemble antique bronze. It measures 3 inches (10cm) in diameter. I sculpted onto a watchglass so I could get a curvature. The watchglass was removed after baking. It took me approximately 25 hours from start to finish.

A lot of fans talk about wanting a replica of Uhtred's sword. However, I wanted something more personal and meaningful to me. I had been planning to make this brooch for over a year now, and finally had the time and motivation to do so.

Progress photos. I rolled out the clay and molded it onto a watchglass. Then I printed out my sketch and used a pin to pinpoint the locations of the main features (the little spheres). Afterwards, it was just a lot of fiddly sculpting work to create the details. This was 100% done by hand; I did not use any molds or pre-created forms for this.

Screencaps of the brooch. And you can see what I had to work with here, lol. Weird fact: his brooch changed color over the seasons! It was shiny gold colored in season 3, silver in season 4, and antique bronze in season 5. Don't know why it changed so much. Aldhelm's brooch is very unique and particular to him. He had a standard large bronze Mercian boar brooch in season 2, just like Aethelred, but for some reason that was changed to this one in season 3. It seemed to coincide with the change in his apparent personality, so I wonder if it was intentional or not?

TLK: Pridelands' Greatest Dad

Kovu tries his best to be a good dad. Sometimes he gets too goofy, specially with Moyo. Akili enjoys seeing her brother in such situations xD

Just some fluff since I've noticed I dont draw Kovu too much even though he is my favorite character out of the canon, along with Kiara

Often the outlands have predators fighting over food, and Zira's pride was struggling a lot with invaders. Once, Nuka saw that jackal, all by themselves, trying to sneak into their territory. Then, he saw in front of his eyes a chance to prove himself useful for the pride. Nuka chased the jackal until he couldn't keep track of it anymore. He was proud of himself for once. He did it.

Nuka may be a coward, but he could do anything risk to prove himself worth of his mom's admiration - such as sacrificing himself to get Simba 😣 poor baby.

I'll try to stick more with the og designs... I don't know why I started doing so many changes in the canon character's design. It started to not look like themselves.
