Kiara's new boyfriend

Aldhelm's Brooch

Handmade by me, from Super Sculpey polymer clay, and painted with acrylic paints to resemble antique bronze. It measures 3 inches (10cm) in diameter. I sculpted onto a watchglass so I could get a curvature. The watchglass was removed after baking. It took me approximately 25 hours from start to finish.

A lot of fans talk about wanting a replica of Uhtred's sword. However, I wanted something more personal and meaningful to me. I had been planning to make this brooch for over a year now, and finally had the time and motivation to do so.

Progress photos. I rolled out the clay and molded it onto a watchglass. Then I printed out my sketch and used a pin to pinpoint the locations of the main features (the little spheres). Afterwards, it was just a lot of fiddly sculpting work to create the details. This was 100% done by hand; I did not use any molds or pre-created forms for this.

Screencaps of the brooch. And you can see what I had to work with here, lol. Weird fact: his brooch changed color over the seasons! It was shiny gold colored in season 3, silver in season 4, and antique bronze in season 5. Don't know why it changed so much. Aldhelm's brooch is very unique and particular to him. He had a standard large bronze Mercian boar brooch in season 2, just like Aethelred, but for some reason that was changed to this one in season 3. It seemed to coincide with the change in his apparent personality, so I wonder if it was intentional or not?

TLK: An Outsider thing

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to talk to your mom!" Kiara said, walking straight into The Outlands. "She can't treat you like that!"

Kovu moved in front of her, clearly blocking her. "I told you I'm fine, Princess."

"No, you are not, you are bleeding!", the lioness hissed.

"We live in The Outlands, that's normal."

"You have bruises..."

"It's an Outsider thing."

"Your mommy shouldn't be hitting you! She should be caring about you and telling you stories and-"

"KIARA!" Kovu interrumpted her, putting a paw on her head, stopping her ranting. "It's an Outsider thing", the older cub said, crooking a broken smile. "Please".

The golden cub stopped and sit uncomfortably. Kovu sighed, relieved that Kiara wouldn't try to talk to his mother anymore. Tired, he flopped next to her. He just wanted a time with his best friend.

When Kiara stood up, the brown cub tensed but the young lioness just gave him a look and began to lick his fur. Kovu let her, not wanting to admit how good it felt and how different it was to his mother's carings.

"I'm sorry." Kiara said.

'I'm sorry you mom is so mean. I'm sorry I can't do much for you', she really wanted to say.

Kovu sighed once again.

"Me too".

One of those encounters between Kiara and Kovu before they coulnd't see each other anymore. The way Kovu flinches so much in the movie makes me think that Zira would rely to violence the moment he disobeys her.

I headcanon that the rock where Kiara was discovered by Timon and Pumbaa became a safe place for her and Kovu. When cubs they sometimes met there until it became impossible for them to do so when training for both of them started to be strenous.

Almost no one knows about this place and Timon and Pumbaa conciously forgot about it when they casually discovered the pair of lions in a compromising position xD

I had a TLK dream last week and I wanted to draw Kovu in it. When I woke up, I made that dream come true.

I tried to make his mane messy, but it turned too fluffy instead. Well, I kinda like it!

Dug up this TLK2 fanart of mine to post since the Mufasa movie came out recently and - no surprise - was painfully mid to the point I had to take myself back to my favourite installment of the series mentally + bonus Nuka doodle from today

I could talk for hours on how amazing Nuka and Zira are as characters and how wonderfully messed up their whole family dynamic is in relation to Kovu if they ever touch the 2nd part then I'm ending up on the news
