Spy X Family 110 spoilers

So i am very interested in Melinda saying Desmond has 'changed'. The flashback from 99 of his student days seemed to indicate that he held that same cynical mindset since childhood, which seems contrary to that.

During Loid (and the reader's) first meeting with him in 38, he repeats as much.

When we first meet Demetrius in person in 93, Damian also noted that their father spent a lot of time observing him. Melinda says that Demetrius has also claimed that Donovan can read minds.

His hairstyle here indicates that he had not yet gone through whatever procedure has left him with with those scars, and perhaps this was right before that with mere observational experiments. People have also suggested that Demetrius has adapted by trying to think on things as little as possible, hence what happened when Anya tried reading his mind.

I also find it curious that the scars/potential procedure were not brought up by Melinda or looked into by Loid.

Of course the whole plot of Operation Strix has been put in place due to Donovan leaving public life and only making rare social appearances. If he has indeed been given telepathy, that could explain it, since we know Anya also had struggles with large crowds, especially with intense or conflicting emotions.

I think it's fairly safe to assume that the theory he underwent experiments to become telepathic is all but confirmed canon, unless Endo is rlly messing with us right now and there's another explanation. Donovan Desmond has long held that other people's minds are unknowable, and apparently tried to find ways around that, but had... trouble handling it's success.

Can't wait to see where this goes!

Loid when Donovan hits him with the "Hello [REDACTED]."

I saw someone theorising about the new SxF chapter and it intrigued me. They suggested that project apple was more widespread than we'd previously thought, that Donovan underwent the same experiment as Anya but Donovan was a more advanced version. And to be honest, I disagree.

I think Donovan was an earlier experiment and Anya is the finished result.

I have a few reasons for thinking this. The first being that Anya is not 6 years old. We know this. She lied about her age to get Loid to adopt her so she could be as young as 4. We also see her visibly younger while in the "care" of project apple so I'd say she's been able to read minds for a maximum of 3-4 years. If I'm not mistaken, the scar on Donovan's forehead is older than that. Speaking of the scar, it's another reason. Apart from the little cones on her head that she (almost) never takes off, Anya has no scars or physical signs of being experimented on. Implying a safer and more practiced procedure.

I need you to understand just how easy it is to fuck up someone's brain. Even though your brain is nothing more than a glob of fatty pudding, it's an intricate network of neurons and signals that, when messed with via surgery or physical trauma, can yield some crazy results.

A brain tumour can completely change someone's behaviour or shift their perception of reality. To the point that if someone you know starts acting really weird for no reason the first thing you should do is get them checked out for one.

Head trauma can shift someone's personality, erase memories, change languages! There have been multiple cases of people getting hit over the head speaking English and stand back up speaking perfect Spanish with no recollection of English at all. Brains are WEIRD man.

Donovan's behaviour doing a 180 after some kind of experiment involving his head is not out of the question. It's very possible. But may I propose another theory?

That him not being the finished product means his mind reading isn't perfect? Meaning perhaps, he can only read negative thoughts?

Can you imagine how quickly you'd become jaded if you could only hear what everyone hated about you all the time? What everyone hated about each other? About the world?

(It would also explain why he didn't react at all to Loid mentally admitting he was a spy on the single occasion they've met.)

This would also give Anya an advantage over him, because if this is true, I'm assuming they're going to have some kind of encounter at some point. Psychic Vs psychic. Or some kind of parallel mind game that they're both playing and she will need to win somehow.

I'm just spitballing here but it would make sense right?

Desmond knows Loid is a spy.

But he does not know Loid is Twilight.

There is a very important difference.

Loid's first contact with Desmond was in Ch38, about 6 months ago in story time. In this time, the Forger Family has been left alone. Loid was not arrested. Loid has not noticed anything suspicious. The SSS don't even suspect Loid (or else Yuri will be arresting Loid in a heartbeat).

This is very weird.

If Desmond knows Loid is Twilight (aka the exact spy running circles around the SSS like a bogeyman) that is immediate (1) expose West deep covert operations and (2) gain unconditional support from the SSS. It is a super politically advantage ploy that Desmond stumbled into out of pure luck. It is likely the biggest break this man has ever gotten in his life. It's been 6 months, Desmond should have all the information he needs to turn in Twilight.

But he has not.

I reread Chapter 38. It could be the translation, but nothing in Loid's thoughts reveal that he (1) is Twilight or (2) works for Wise. Hell, technically nothing proves he's not from Ostania. He's a spy, yes. But a spy for who?

Theory: I don't think Desmond knows. He's the party leader. He must be approached by spies all the time. There's a reason why he's so careful and secretive. It's just a smart thing to do when you are trying to start a war.

Of course Desmond is suspicious, but until he has more information there is no reason to take any action.

So for now, Loid is (relatively) safe.

Until Desmond gets even more suspicious, perhaps about this spy/psychiatrist that has a growing influence on his wife? Perhaps his wife's peculiar friend that recommended the therapy? Perhaps about a young pink haired girl who his son thinks can also read minds?

FINALLY finished the whole Silver Eyes book series!! It....was a rough read haha. It took three books to see any aspect of Williams character beyond some goofy villain in a Saturday morning cartoon, but it was worth the wait. Though I couldn’t take him seriously for long before the usual stupidity ensued- I really enjoyed those moments. So here’s a snapshot of one ^^

Little Mouthwashing ramble I've had in mind for almost a week now

The Blind Beast reminds me of a siguanaba. A beautiful woman who corners her victim in a forest or any place without people, once she lures her victim, she exposes her real face, a horse one (Be it wit furr, human skin, skull or any other variation). Whoever sees her, ends up sick, crazy or dead.

Her victims are all male, usually, sleep deprived, unfaithful men that were all alone in the middle of the night, other versions says she also went for the drunk, the playboys and those that abandoned their families.... modern versions says she specifically appears around abusive, violent men and rapists.

Some versions of the leyend also say that she used to be a goddess... the Moon Goddess. Her human appearance usually depicted as "oval shaped face, big round black eyes, pale skin, long dark hair and beautiful lips"
