Pichhle saal yunhi September ki ek baarish me mujhay wo baat yaad aayi, jo pehle kabhi seekhi thi...Kay Insan ka dil Allah ki do Ungliyon me hai, wo jab chahay, usay palat Saktay Hain...jaise...wo waqt, jab mujhay baarish pasand aanay lagi. Bachpan se maine Baarish par muh banaya tha. Shayad school baarishwale dinon me start hua karta tha isliye, aur phir ground ke kichad me meray polished jootay aur safayd Uniform, dhuli dhulai cycle ke tyres, sab kichad-aalood hojate thay. Bag bheeg jata lekin waterproof tha to khayr thi, kitabon me lekin nami reh jati. Meri kitabein, jinko mai apni jaan se zyada sambhala karti thi. Mai nafasat pasand rahi hun aksar. Bachpan se. Phir college ke dinon tak, Baarish ka ye kichad aur uljhan mujhay bahot bezaar karte rahay hain. Aangan me gilay, gale hue patton ka phailna, har shay geeli aur numm. Gharme raho to neend aajati, khelne baahar koi jaane nh deta aur phir thandi baarish se beemar honay ka ehsas. Bezari si bezaari. Phir ek waqt wo aaya, jab apne shehar se door ek aisi jagah rehna pada, jahan door door tak aasmaan, Pahaad aur sookha maidan nazar aata. Apne mehfooz ghar, kichad walay school se door, anjan logon ke beech tanha hue jab maine wahan baarish hotay aur pani ki chhoti chhoti nehar banke ek taalaab me jaa miltay dekha.. Uss lamhe mein, mai pehli baar bezaar nahi hui. Pehli dafa kichad se uljhan nh hui, na hi ye fikr rahi ke saaf kapde maile hojayengay ya kitabein bheeg jayengi. Pehle ek haath aur phir saari ki saari mai, uss baarish me khari hogayi. Uss waqt nafasat ko nahi bhuli thi, bas ye eham nahi raha tha ke jootay, kapde aur cycle inki safai kabhi mustaqil hogi... Inn cheezon ko saaf rakhte rakhte shayad mai ek waqe'atan khubsoorat ehsas se door rahi thi. Meray dil me ye itminan aaya ke ye Allah ki rehmat hai, jisme mai bheeg rahi hun, mehaz pani nahi. Iss waqt mere Rabb ki tarafse sabse bada waseelah hai jissay mai Usko apne qareeb mehsoos kar rhi hun. Gharke, gharwalon ke tahaffuz se door, uss bijliyon aur garajti baarish me Allah ne mera dil badal diya tha. Yun jaise Do Ungliyon me bas chutki si bajayee ho. Uske baad se aaj tak, Baarish ne mujhay kabhi bezaar nahi kiya. Na hi kichad aalood juton ne, na hi meray maile hue safayd libas ne na hi bag me kai tahon me chhupi meri numm kitabon ne. Aaj jab mai aasman se barasti boondon ko dekhte iss bareme sochti hun, to samajh aata hai ..ke Uss din ki baarish ke zariye sirf baarish ke liye muhabbat hi nahi mili thi mujhay... balke ek mazeed ilham bhi mujhpar hua tha... Ek aur baat thi, jo wo baarish mere liye Allah ki tarafse paigam ki surat lekr aayi thi. Ye, ke koi jazbaa, koi insan, koi shay, koi haalaat itne mustaqil nahi hotay ke aapka ussay dil na uthhay. Har wo shay jisko aap chhorna chahte hain, lekin dil ke haathon majboor hain, aap Allah se kehden. Wo aapka dil badal Dengay. Ek aisi baarish, jahan saari umr ki bezari khatm hojati hai. Allah se wo baarish maangein.

Hear me out. If Lilith had an Indian cinema style self-questioning, soul-searching redemption montage, I feel the song 'Kabira' would fit her perfectly. I mean take a look at the lyrics—
Kaisi teri khudgarzi, na dhoop chune na chhaon
(What is this selfishness, you choose neither light nor darkness)
Kaisi teri khudgarzi, kisi thor tike na paon
(What is this selfishness, you don't put roots anywhere)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ban liya apna paigambar, tar liya tu saat samandar
(You tried becoming your own god, and crossed the seven seas)
Phir bhi sookha mann ke andar kyun reh gaya?
(Still you're empty from within, why is it so?)
Tumblr media
Re Kabira maan ja, re Faqeera maan ja
(O saint, O wanderer, come on believe me)
Aaja tujhko pukare teri parchhaiyan
(Come, your shadows are calling you back)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Bonus—
Kaisi teri khudgarzi, lab namak rame na mishri
(What is this selfishness, neither salt nor sugar suits your tongue)
Kaisi teri khudgarzi, tujhe preet purani bisri
(What is this selfishness, that you've forgotten your old loves)

they say home is a person
yes, it is after seeing my friends and people around I've come to the conclusion that yes home is a person.
even if most of them are longing for their home, and some of them are lucky enough to have their home in their arms.
but they've a definition of home
they can call someone their own
but what about people like me?
who never had someone,
who kept their walls so up,
and never let anyone in?
who's always been extra quite and felt inexpressible
who always pretended to be cynical.
Who never had anyone
to share their dreams, passions, and traumas with?
who've become an archive of unsaid words, suppressed feelings and guarded personalities.
people who are full of agony.
what are we here for?
to watch them dance, their bodies moving in grace,
a symphony of love that i cannot embrace
their laughter echoes through the halls with glee
a cruel reminder of my loneliness, I see
yet here I stand, a solitary soul
yearning for love that makes me whole
people like me are here to watch them experiencing the greatest feeling, with slight watery and hopeful eyes
we're here to look at them and just anticipate
and then yearning again for something that was never there in the first place.
how do they live?
they don't.
they're merely alive.
no matter how much we romanticize materialistic things they can never give the warmth we need,
the intimacy we crave.
it was Just a myth when they told me that i am so lovable, I'm not, and I'm okay with it. I know people like me don't have people. I've made my peace with it.
with the fact that there's a void, in my soul,
and I'll have to fill it with art. it won't be as comforting as touch of human being.
Tar liya tu saat samundar phir bhi sookha man ke andar'
this proves that no matter how much we try to satisfy ourselves with materialistic things, we will still feel this void inside and it can only be permeated with love and human connection.

ye ishq bhi aaj-kal sookha sookha sa lagta hai — jaise ret ka ek bebas dariya hain woh, jaise dhoop mein tadap raha hain woh, jaise kuch dhund raha hain woh —
lagta hai, aaj ishq ko bhi, ishq ki talaash hain. lagta hai, aaj mujhe bhi, meri talaash hain.

The Secret to Longevity: Dry Fruits and Their Role in Indian Wellness
Tumblr media
Longevity, the cherished gift of a healthy and fulfilling life, is a universal aspiration. In India, a country with a rich heritage of holistic wellness practices, the secret to a long and vibrant life often lies in the embrace of nature's treasures. Among these treasures, Dry fruits occupy a special place, offering a myriad of health benefits that have been celebrated for centuries. In this blog, we unveil the role of dry fruits in Indian wellness and their contribution to longevity.
A Time-Honored Tradition:
Dry fruits, also known as "Sookha Mewa" or "Sookha Phal" in Hindi, have been an integral part of Indian cuisine and traditional medicine for ages. Their consumption is deeply rooted in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of natural healing. Ayurveda recognizes the unique qualities of various dry fruits and their ability to promote health and well-being.
The Nutritional Bounty:
Dry fruits are a nutritional powerhouse, enriched with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healthy fats. Here's a glimpse of the nutritional riches they offer:
Almonds: Packed with vitamin E and heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, almonds are known to support brain health and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Walnuts: These brain-shaped nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which promote cognitive function and heart health.
Dates: Nature's sweetest offering, dates are a source of potassium, fiber, and natural sugars, providing quick energy and aiding digestion.
Raisins: High in antioxidants and iron, raisins contribute to better skin health and help combat anemia.
Apricots: These vibrant orange gems are packed with vitamin A, promoting healthy vision and skin.
The Wellness Benefits:
The inclusion of dry fruits in the Indian diet offers a multitude of wellness benefits:
Energy Boost: Dry fruits are a quick source of natural energy, making them a popular choice for a mid-day pick-me-up or pre-workout snack.
Digestive Aid: Dry fruits like figs and prunes are high in dietary fiber, aiding digestion and preventing constipation.
Heart Health: Regular consumption of almonds and walnuts has been linked to reduced cholesterol levels and improved heart health.
Anti-Aging: The antioxidants in Dry fruits help fight oxidative stress, slowing down the aging process and promoting youthful skin.
Weight Management: Contrary to popular belief, incorporating dry fruits into your diet can support weight management by reducing unhealthy snacking and providing satiety.
Disease Prevention: The rich nutrient profile of dry fruits contributes to overall immunity and lowers the risk of chronic diseases.
A Cultural Tradition:
In India, dry fruits are often exchanged as gifts during festivals and celebrations. Their cultural significance extends to auspicious occasions and ceremonies, symbolizing blessings and prosperity. This cultural tradition highlights the reverence for dry fruits as a symbol of health and well-being.
Conclusion:
The secret to longevity lies in the wisdom of embracing nature's gifts, and in India, Dry fruits have been a cherished part of this journey. Their role in Indian wellness and their contribution to a long and fulfilling life cannot be overstated. As we savor the rich flavors and reap the health benefits of dry fruits, we celebrate the time-honored tradition of nourishing both body and soul. So, the next time you enjoy a handful of almonds or savor the sweetness of dates, know that you're partaking in a centuries-old legacy of wellness and longevity.

like,,, i sort of understand why people from delhi, kolkata and mumbai get militant about golgappe, puchkas and pani puris respectively but at heart they are puri shells filled with some sort of potato/ragda/kala chana/boondi filling and dunked into water flavoured with tamarind, coriander and mint. u have them at a street stall where the seller dunks it in water for u. sookha puri after you're done is your birthright. it's the whole experience!!!
however yesterday's 'pani puri' was not in my schema of pani puri experiences
yesterday i had some godawful pani puri at a new chaat place i found. they had all sorts of really interesting menu items so i will go back to check them out. what i wanna know is how u can call smth pani puri when u hand me a tiny cup of almost tasteless, almost clear liquid for me to pour into puris that are filled with sev and curd. that's not pani puri that's something else brother.
