I was playing with costume ideas so these are based pretty heavily off of livesies! they’re also different than the other stuff I’ve posted on here bc my art style has been leaning more towards realism recently but yk

also the amount of scars on jack/jaclyn changes + I wasn’t a freckled davey/devin truther yet so just imagine those things are consistent

if you haven't read so i'll try to talk refined and the sequel how i'm imagining you by @we-are-inevitable, read them now! so i'll try to talk refined is, by far one of my favorite newsies fics-- very charming, incredibly well characterized, lots of fun-- and i was feeling immensely inspired this evening.

sketched these two sweethearts because they've been haunting my brain.

yes they were forced by medda to take this, yes luna is the only one who wants to be there, and yes the story is set in 1905 but it is not a continuation of canon. I just reeeeally like writing in the Edwardian era.

also these children are in fact katherine’s— she is dead. rip baby mama.

"can't I see it already? let me get up and go to the mirror." david begged, craning his neck to try and study the subtle movement of jack's hand.

"nuh-uh." jack chastised, biting his lip in concentration. "i ain't even halfway through yet. hold your horses, dave."

"i am holding them! that just tickles and it's driving me up the wall not knowing what you're drawing!" his voice bordered on a whine, something jack inwardly found amusing but chose not to comment on.

instead, he just smiled to himself and continued making constellations out of the freckles on davey's back. he knew davey wasn't really mad. his typically ramrod straight posture was relaxed, and there was a barely-there smile tugging at the corner of his lips, reserved just for jack. he loved nights like this.

(how many times do you think jack had to ask before this was approved? i can't stop sketching these boys, someone help meeee)
