SLASHER AU- Scourge

Finished up that main piece after jt was spending so long as a WIP.

Scourge in the slasher AU had a small and.. interesting role. You see while most of the other cast are usually heroes and are more antagonistic in this AU. why not take a usually antagonist character and put them in the spot of a protagonist.

Hence my idea for Scourge.

Oh and a seed of backstory for him and Sonic, the dream lurking and reality manipulating slasher….

Sonic and Scourge in this AU are cousins, very much alike in skills and physical attributes, but in attitude and upbringing? Very different.

Scourge was going down a dark path, drinking, light drugs, and petty crimes. and while he and Sonic were close as children, they are drifting apart because of this behaviour.

Sonic was stubborn and would try and talk to Scourge. Try to convince him to put an end to it, but it’d always lead to arguments.

In an attempt to try and bond like old times and have another chance to get through to him, Sonic went out camping with Scourge… unfortunately the chat turned into another argument between them, and that quickly turn to a physical fight.

It’d be quickly cut short however, when they were confronted by a masked slasher.

It didn’t take long for the two to make a run for it.

The two got separated, they were fast but the fight between them left them tired and slower. Already vulnerable to this slashers attack. Scourge himself had gotten deep slashes to the chest thanks to the attacker but miraculously managed to flee.

And he had thought the same for Sonic. If anything Sonic was better fit than him to escape… but after authorities were called and he was taken to a hospital. He came to learn that Sonic had not been found.

No body. No trace. Sonic was just… gone.

And then the crushing guilt came.

Everyone who them didn’t have to say it, he knew it, he could see it on their faces. Why did it have to be Sonic instead of him. And If they weren’t blaming him for what happened. Scourge already was doing it himself.

It drove him mad, to know that the last thing he did with Sonic was fight, all because he didn’t want to listen to him trying to set him straight. Now he was gone.

It haunted him. Scourge may have physically recovered, scoring only a scare. But the guilt never left. And so he started his search. He’d go around those woods, over and over. Trying to find any sign of his cousin; dead or alive. He’d go to nearby towns, cities, leave posters and search online forums. Anything he could do, he was doing it…

But the strangest incident by far was after another visit to that damned woods. He had a dream that night, he was in that forest again. Almost as if he was back on that night… but then it all started to fall apart. Something appeared in front of him…Sonic?

It didn’t make sense, but who else could it be? Was this a spirit, was he calling out from wherever he is? Was this a sign from the universe that somewhere, somehow, he was out there?

It must be…

So Scourge continues his search, occasionally getting that same dream... even though this Sonic never seems happy that he has returned. But he won’t stop.

Not until he gets closure.

you know adding romance in your stories like hungryhero make it a bit awkward generally romance is something that a story go forward but for it I have the impression that it there to be there. You said yourself that after starting is new diet sonic pretty much doesn’t care about anyone except few people (and that doesn’t include shadow) plus if you really wanted to include sonadow in the story you could’ve have a few comic about sonic and shadow but instead you do drawing of them being close but that doesn’t make sense seeing how thier relationship goes it make really awkward ( this isn’t to meant to be a criticism but I just want to tell what brother me) and that all even though you will probably continue what you were doing with them and that I just you to acknowledge your fault

My introduction to ships in my AU’s really are more just guilty pleasures to myself. A lot of the romance/ships I do bring into the AU’s don’t really serve purpose to bring the plot forward because they aren’t supposed to. Romance is not the focus in these kinds of AU’s, I just put them in because it’s fun. I think only like three of my AU’s have ships, and really only one of them has any weight to it (being the House Party AU). The other two are both just a joke and not cannon (COTH), and just because it’s in my headcannons/personal preferences (HungryHero.EXE).

The House Party AU is based on old horror/slasher films and it follows a lot of those plot points (albeit given a bit of a twist to it), so yes there will be some romance or ‘sexual’ tension between some characters because that’s how a lot of those kinds of stories go.

While HungryHero.EXE takes after my headcannons, I don’t exactly like forcefully fitting characters into certain things unless that was established day one of brainstorming. The AU takes after every game published by the Sonic Team, so any (romantic) relationship with any character is mostly ambiguous prior to the events of HungryHero.EXE (being the very first part of the series).

Plus, believe it or not, Sonic is a shy guy when it comes to sharing his more romantic emotions. He’s the kind of guy who is more with actions than words, and he’s not that much into PDA. As I said, HungryHero.EXE is half based in cannon, so I wanted to keep Sonic as close to his cannon self as I can.

And as I said before, I don’t think that shipping or romance should be the main focus, or something to drive the plot forward in a story. Like, a lot of times people just have a lover but they don’t do much in the story anyways. Romance and relationships are just a part of life, I don’t think that they should always be the focus in stories, even if they are part of it.

Slasher AU Big, his normal form and beast form.

Poor Big has a bit of a... condition. He's had it for as long as he could remember; every time he gets very upset or stressed, basically feels any sense of intense emotion, he goes through a bit of a transformation. A very scary, painful one. As a result, his life has been spent mostly in isolation. He tries to keep to himself and make sure no one comes into his area; the fewer people, the fewer times he'll find himself waking up with remains around him. The only friends he has are the native creatures in the Mystic Ruins, including a very strange Frog that seems to stick to him especially. He would thankfully get more friends in the future...

"Sometimes I.. Feel like I'm loosing it. My- my mind, y'know." Jonah leaned into the dusty car seat, the vehicles droning growl almost putting him unconscious. It would be easy to fall asleep if it weren't for the guy next to him.

Adam paused, the car jolting from an accidentally pressed break,

"Yeah? Mh.. well, what do you do to fix it?" He'd ask, sarcastic in tone as if he didn't care at all. He probably wasn't listening, honest.

"I call you at five in the morning and I say 'Hey wanna order pizza and watch a slasher?'. So I.. I talk to you. That's uh.. that's what." Jonah chuckled, thinking about the one time they stayed up well past sunrise watching the scream trilogy. They kept pausing the movie to criticize random stupid things, Jonah to point out how kill should have worked, Adam to pinpoint who the killer could be.

And for the first time, Adam sounded genuinely concerned.

"...why?"

Jonah took a swig of the soda that had been flat for hours sitting in the cupholder,

"'Cuz you make me feel sane by comparison."

Oohhh yeah! I can see this as before the incident in the au too.
