here are some pictures from my semi-recent visit to Song Tea in San Francisco. i was in the city very briefly and hit up my old friend who works there and invited me to hang out/drink some tea in their back room. we drank Red Water Shuixian, a charcoal roasted oolong that Em is pouring in pictures above.

Song tea is a really beautiful space. The green box pictured above is a roaster?? Em and their co-worker showed me film pictures from their recent work trip to Taiwan

i have so much tea right now (blessedly acquired from free sources), it's ridiculous. i'm mostly grateful

my mind is a mess these days but I would like to keep posting

Woke up in a red mood. Happens sometimes. Usually when I want to lean more towards invigoration than sedation. STRAWBERRY & PEAR TEA . I believe they used a green tea to make this drink. It had small chopped up pieces of strawberries abd asian pear (with the skin on) in it. I asked for sakura pearl and sakura konjac (jelly) in my drink as well, but I don't think they heard me... and thought I was just asking about it 😑 I might try this place again... if it's still around after 6 months or if my ftiends want to try it. Thr menu in Chinese has unique and funny names, but you wouldn't know that if you didn't understand the language. Such a lovely dessert tea - Song Tea Shan Lan Xi Winter Sprout - candy-like tea without the calories! My go to, sweet tea I crave when one craves a cotton candy tea (who doesn’t?) I’m using only 4 grams here bc I want to go to bed after 2-3 infusions. The first infusion is sweet and buttery and light, with a pleasing light savory aftertaste. Second infusion is stronger with more mineral notes but a strong cotton candy taste still. Who knows what the third infusion will hold? I will keep my mind open to the possibilities… I understand why this tea has a cult following. Consider myself a new member of this fan club….
