Do you ever just stop and think about the The Night Does Not Belong To God x Euclid connection? Cus boy, I sure am.
We start the trilogy with "I know for the last time you will not be mine, so give me the night" and end with "By now, the night belongs to you".
"The night comes down like heaven" vs "And if your wings won't find you heaven, I will bring it down like an ancient bygone".
We start with Vessel both dreading and desiring the night, the one time of the day where everything is sacred crumbles and gives space to love - imperfect and painful, and divine in its imperfection. A time where he is no longer an unworthy outsider at the eyes of daylight angels, of God.
And we end with him defying heaven itself, no longer a bystander but a fighter, for daring to close itself to the ones bellow. It's acceptance of a flawed self, it's acknowledgment of a fabricated holiness, it's retaliation for the humanity of which he was robbed of. A consacration of bleeding flesh before the toppling of a golden cross. The man who died for a fallen god, resurrected.
The night does not belong to god, it belongs to you. It belongs to me.
And still love remains, the love who both saved him and entombed his name like a hushed sin, echoing in falling rain and blood-soiled dirt.
