I just finished The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and I got to be honest it struck a chord in me. Working every day for a corporate job for years seems daunting, I realized how much passion plays into the role of putting your life's purpose together. Logging these music I heard on the film:

When Walter was rushing to find Sean, the photographer, in his scenic route this song lays out a solemn anthem to someone's soul-searching.

I love these type of songs! They just caress you like a lullaby, this song is placed on one of the movie's quiet moments. I was really moved by the music and the scene where Walter just picks up and moves forward with his life with quiet determination.

The song's lyrics is touching, "In the morning watch a new day rise, We'll do whatever just to stay alive" says so much hope in new beginnings and in every day. Ending the movie in an ending sequence proves this movie is cathartic to people looking for meaning in their mundane lives.

don’t turn me from your door / john lee hooker: opening theme, shows august traveling from street to street, trying to survive. these scenes would rlly illustrate his loneliness but also his heart. sharing his food with others, sharing their space when so many ostracize them.

the hardest / gasoline: very combat-oriented. he’s scrapping with bullies. he’s tending to his battle wounds and cleaning his pocket-knife. there’s definitely a scene where auggie stabs a cop.

questions / gospel gangstaz: head bowed, hands clasped in prayer. a quiet, introspective scene.

innocent at once / fat jon: someone has given him a place to sleep and hot food. he is guarded at first, keeping a blade under his pillow, skipping meals. as days pass, he finds himself conflicted by their kindness, torn between his hope for family and his fear of abandonment.

runaway train / soul asylum: he has a nightmare and runs away, convinced his presence in another’s life is a burden instead of a blessing.

Well, I can’t really recall any quotes from books, movies, and TV shows I’ve watched off the top of my head (Also, I’ve never been that type of reader that highlights their favourite sections on kindle and goodreads 😅).

I don’t really read poem too, but the closest thing I have to that and that I can do is song lyrics 😁 I’ll try to choose the sections of the lyrics that I feel really close to telling their romance stories and if I can’t, then I’m aiming for the vibes of the dynamics between the two characters.
