Also “I chose you, the one I was dancing with in New York” given that from what we can surmise their first date was in the city and seems to be a special place for them is just… her brain is so big with these mashups idk and I’m very happy for her and them

SO UH NEW OC (that fits Space Riders too much-)
meet KoiRite, warrior princess from the planet Imbeko (Xhosa for “honor”). She’s the middle child out of 5 siblings and only daughter to Queen Melokuhle and King Liyabona.
I was heavily inspired by the Black Panther movie series so she’s the Space Rider’s “Black Panther”. She’s a buff lady with a good right hook!

some tragic love stories be like: if i could bottle the galaxy, i would pour it into a cup so it would be easier for you to drink. do you want them? do you want the stars? or do they suit you better as adornments for your eyes than glitter on your lips?
but they don’t want the stars. they don’t want the galaxy. but how can they not? is that not enough? (it’s too much, that’s the problem. it’s too much.)
#ney's idle chatter (random textposts)#me trying and failing to capture why hadestown has embodied Love in a way i don’t think i’m really capable of comprehending fr#but also this can be about whatever blorbo you want#when i think about that one line in chant#when hades says ‘brighter than the light of day’#‘look. look at what i can make for you—see?’#meanwhile the last thing persephone wants is to be reminded of this hollow echo of what their love is in her memories#when i think about that scene when eurydice tells orpheus they need to get food#but he’s working on his song and she makes the choice to trust him and go#to work harder and longer and search for things to feed them and trust he’ll bring spring back#THE WAY PERSEPHONE TRIES TO KISS HADES GOODBYE AT THE START WHEN SHE COMES BACK FOR SUMMER#AND HOW IT PARALLELS EURYDICE KISSING ORPHEUS GOODBYE WHEN SHE GOES TO LOOK FOR FOOD#and hades pulls away. because she’s leaving him and he’s terrified. he’s terrified and turns it into anger because otherwise he’s helpless.#and orpheus doesn’t respond when eurydice leaves because he’s working—he’s working and he’s going to give her what he promised.#but she needs his help. she needs his help nowshe needs his support and he isn’t there.#thinking about the moment she takes the ticket from hades and#it almost implies she starves. that she dies. that she starves to death trying to find food for them both#i promise you however unhinged i seem about this musical i am being purposefully restrained so i don’t spam you all too much orz#holy SHIT these tags are LONG#even for me this is ridiculous there’s a whole other post down here#high five to you for reading it ig damn#hadestown

I’d like to headcanon that some of the squad have shared playlists , and one giant one for them all . They check out each others Spotify or Amazon or YouTube idk what they use anyway they check it out and if it pairs similar to their own , they join together and create one to play when they are chilling or showing to the others . The BIG one is them all together , meaning lots and lots and lots of bickering over what song gets put in and what doesn’t . Usually , it’s just Aiden complaining about the songs he can’t add ( VERY mixed style , some songs are a little too goofy . But don’t worry , he’ll add them on when no one’s looking )

I love the rhyming on ttpd. can only think of two examples currently but I know there’s more.
#the dancing phantoms on the terrace do they get second hand embarrassed#is e v e r y t h I n g#but also I can’t stop thinking about:#you. look. like. taylor swift. in this light—we’re lovin’ it#like just the flow. the cadence. not even just the rhyme but#her ease with language and playfulness with it and all the little pockets and corners of so many songs#even ones you think you don’t like. settle in with time!#like the thing about taylor is that she is VERY much a poet#in that some of her genius/way with words is innate#and the images and stuff she uses the turns of phrase can feel so garish and embarrassing on first listen#they JAR#but honestly I think it’s because she is truly …. new? she is doing something NEW#and the shock and outrage that always goes with new things is always present with a Taylor album#and I think she’s drawing on so much from the past to write but she is so deeply rooted in the present cultural moment#so it’s so easy to dismiss her writing on first glance as like. idk a college girl’s idea of poetry#as being too Stark or Melodramatic.#she loves OBVIOUS imagery and extremely dramatic ones too#but she isn’t actually just throwing stuff at the wall#because pretty much always. it starts to land and soften and settle#and the image she’s chosen has done its job of drawing you into a world#and/or communicating an emotion#and sometimes it’s so upsetting. like. get me out of the bedroom with Matty Healy taylor!!!!!!!!!! but. the art is art-ing!#I guess is what I’m saying. she’s good at this it isn’t just hype#but some of it really is that she’s taking us places we might not want to go or are so quick to pass judgment on#as being unworthy of a song or more importantly a poem. but present art HAS to do that#and does do it!!!!!! idk I am just. musing

yelling into the void perhaps with this one, but I’ve seen this sentiment a lot on social media lately and I just find it so irritating to hear over and over again. like “wow, do straight people really think ‘good luck, babe!’ is a dance song?? listen to the lyrics maybe??” or “the lack of reading comprehension from people who think hozier’s ‘cherry wine’ is romantic…” or the perennial classic of “you think ‘zombie’ by the cranberries belongs on a Halloween party playlist? it’s about serious Irish history!!” I DONT KNOW HOW TO TELL YOU THIS, but not everyone is doing serious scholarly work when they turn on the radio during their commute or when they throw on a random Spotify playlist to clean their house. Some people don’t even really notice lyrics to songs basically ever?? and it’s really not a moral issue at all?? Like I think you should pay attention to the lyrics if you like to and you should analyze them for deeper meaning because musicians write them intentionally to be meaningful, but it’s also not a big deal if the reason you like ‘Zombie’ is because you just like the way Dolores O’Riordan’s voice sounds or if you think the production values on Chappell Roan’s music is catchy and good and you like to bop along to it. you don’t need a PhD in the personal history of any musician or band you like to really appreciate their work, you can just enjoy art on an instinctive basic level. And I’d really encourage you to interrogate why exactly every enjoyable act in your life has to evolve into a scholarly exercise whose express goal is to make you feel morally superior to everyone else

not only does the line “from here on in it’s independence day” in girls rolling stock flip greaseball’s insult (miss america) on its head, but it also declares its dinah’s independence day. her worth isn’t dependent on what anyone says, and she is her own independent person

Ngl im not really someone who cries much, like I can't, and there is this one song (the underworld, EPIC: the musical) that always makes me sad but I can't cry and it felt shity and then I explained to someone why it was so sad and saying it outloud made me cry and it felt good to finally be able to cry for that song
Umm
You should listen to epic the musical
It's like
25 songs
15 more are on the way
Most of them don't make me cry
The fact that this is the first piece of media too make me cry should tell you a lot about it's quality.
Oh man. I just gave it a listen and holy moly. You’re right, might have to listen to the whole thing! It HIT right in the gut.

To soothe the pain, love, while I don't believe the Doctor - that is 1-12, the others might - ever SAID 'I love you' to River, I am convinced they taught her Gallifreyan just so she'd understand they kept tracing 'I love you' onto the back of her hand at random moments
Awwh! :’) I love the idea of the Doctor randomly tracing Gallifreyan on her skin to express all the things that they can’t say! I’d sort of thought River knew Gallifreyan instinctually with it on the TARDIS screens, but with her connection to the TARDIS being so inherent, maybe there’s no need.
…but now I’m imagining River recognizing (with their lives out of order), that the shapes he’s tracing are Gallifreyan circles. And maybe she’d connect the dots and study Gallifreyan on her own. And then she would understand what he’s writing — and start to take it wrong that he’s writing it but doesn’t have the guts to actually tell her, and she would overthink forever but not actually ask him…
Until the Doctor notices asks why she’s being cold — and then she tells him — and he says he thought she already knew—
(Crying and hugging ensues.)
