GEORGE: I've found it really peaceful, when you're down in the water, and totally disconnected with the world. We live life at a thousand miles an hour, and when you get back home, you almost need something to help you lift your foot off the accelerator pedal, otherwise you'll just totally burn yourself out. And that's what I've found with doing a bit of freediving, getting into the water, outside of my comfort zone, but when I was there, focusing on my breathing, on the diving, on the fish around - came into contact with a barracuda last week, in the Carribbean! But you're not thinking about the racing, and I think finding that balance is really important.

this is very specific, but barton does tend to hold grudges against people if they wronged him in the past, especially if they did something major to him... like almost killed him for example. though it's honestly to the point where it's kind of ridiculous because (and to provide y'all with a scenario) he is the type of person to not accept a ride from someone who did him wrong years ago, even though he's literally soaked because it's POURING outside jsjsj like, dude, who cares about what they did to you??? just ACCEPT THE DAMN RIDE LMAO

even disregarding anything beyond s7, they literally live such joyless lives. like, the grief they have experienced is overwhelming, how could they ever truly be happy with that grief always hanging over their heads, the discomfort that would bring is enormous

well, no. they did not have joyless lives. like everyone, life happens to them and that means pain & grief but that doesn't mean their entire lives & existence are joyless.

we really only see them at work, we don't know what goes on outside of it.

they're actually really happy in season 1 & season 7. in season 1, they're getting to know each other, they become best friends quickly. the smile & laugh constantly, they tease each other. they always enjoy their debates & most cases. even when they're scary, even when they don't get all the answers. they get to know each other so well in that time and it's a gift to them both. they still have light moments in every season and you can't love like they do and be just miserable. in season 7, they're together. they're experiencing so many new things in their relationship that they've wanted for a long time and finally let themselves have. they're constantly flirting & smiling and talk about their feelings more openly than they have in the past.

and the other years, they find so much in each other when the world turns their back on them. mulder is scully's light when she loses melissa, when they close her case, during her cancer, with emily. he fights so hard for her and holds her up when she needs it. scully is mulder's light through every hard case, when he loses his mom, helps him find closure about samantha. she is always pulling him from the depths. he tries so hard to tell her what she means to him in his mulder way, and she finds so much meaning in a keychain & he's in awe of her. she's always asking him to get out of the car because the truth & work doesn't have to be all their lives are. and eventually he starts to learn and they play baseball and they dance and have movie nights and exchange gifts.

mulder & scully learn what to do with their grief, the love they can't give to the people they've lost. mulder fought for every child & family they came across and never gave up until they had answers, or were safely returned to their families. scully goes back into the medical field and helps every child & family she can. they go home to each other and they have a quiet life for a while.

yes, mulder was sick for a while but he comes out the other side more able to relax and he lives. he asks scully on dates, they go back to the work they love and it's much lighter than it was before. until they come across their son. there was pain in that, but there was also so much relief in knowing that jackson was loved. he had parents who loved him and took care of him and tried to get him help when he needed it. he played baseball. and for a little while they thought he was dead, but scully realized the moment his body disappeared that he wasn't really dead. and they sought him out and he gave scully small little gifts that he could. the snow globe, the knowledge that he was alive & could protect himself & that he really wanted to know her. he heard every word she said to him. my struggle iv ends very open ended. they think jackson was shot but scully is pregnant again, and they have a chance to be parents to another child like they always wanted. and you can believe they never see jackson again but that just. can't be the truth. it's open ended to leave room for them to come back, because the x files never gives us all the answers. because the fact that jackson is alive & they're having another baby is so hopeful. maybe we don't see them as a family in the end, but i think they made it clear mulder & scully never give up and jackson wants to know them. he wanted to protect them but he's just a teenager.

grief is hard but it's a part of life and it doesn't mean they can't be happy. it might never be pure, but there's no such thing as pure, untainted happiness. it's the human condition. we get to feel the whole spectrum of emotions and life grows around grief. you learn what to do with it. you learn ways to share the love you can't actively give to the people you've lost. but the connections & love don't go away. that love is belongs to you and there are so many ways to honor it, to share it with others and it can still be all about that person. that's what the x files is all about for mulder & scully. it's always what the show was about. chris carter was right: mulder and scully are the light in dark places. the show is all about their love, the way they love each other & the world & all the love they're surrounded by.

I quite liked Billie Eilish’s newest release, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. God… BIRDS OF A FEATHER was basically the album title. It really hit me in the guts. I… had another animatic idea. God… it will never be sought through… but man it almost brought me to tears the first time I imagined it.

I like the album cover. I think of it as drowning, trying to reach for the love of someone, but not getting there. Or alternatively, drowning in sorrow as love ends.

Also I am SO OBSESSED with Ace Attorney right now. I bought the Apollo Justice Trilogy I think a month or two ago. I thought about returning it�� thank god I didn’t. IT’S SO GOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD. Apollo and Athena and Blackquill and Trucy and Brushel! AGHHHHH it was so good… I had SO MUCH FUN playing it. Some people don’t like the second trilogy as much as the first one… but I love this to bits. Maybe it’s because I never got to play the first trilogy because… uh… I spoiled myself by watching the anime first, but still! I have to pick up TGAA:C soon. If I knew how to draw people, there would have been like 50 sketches of the characters on my blog by now. Then I would make my handle make sense.

I was obsessed with AA a few years ago, but now I’ve actually played the games past the first one, and that was honestly a drag. Maybe it was because I knew exactly where the investigations would go, but I did not have fun. Not to say they aren’t good games, I just…

Anyway, Billie’s Hit Me Hard And Soft… was pretty good. I only really listen to LUNCH, CHIHIRO, and especially BIRDS OF A FEATHER. But a listen to the full album, it’s definitely good, just most of the album isn’t exactly my music taste. A bit downbeat for my tastes. I usually only listen to music of an emotion I want to feel. BLUE is pretty good too, though.

Ngl people expecting Class 2-A to know Izuku's quirkless right now is a wild goose chase, that idiot (/affectionately) is an open book in another language, I can guarantee that if he actually had a talk with Ochako or Shoto he'd literally go "In a very hypotetical specific situation how'd you feel if you lost that battle and your power as a result" and go "Midoriya/Deku-kun what tf are you talking about" or somehow still misinterpret it like Mirio or Kota.

Or they'd clock the bs and he'd get the pep talk he wants but not the one he truly needs (I think he'd know that on some level), similiar to Toshinori saying he saved Tenko, it's not good for Izuku to hear that, what with him becoming dust and what that means. Maybe it's best he doesn't get advice from people still pretending things are fine. They'd have good intentions, sure, but someone has to rip that reality bandaid and it's not going to be them, I think. Not so soon, at least, in the chance they might have a proper talk at some point.

I don't think they are ignoring him for being Quirkless or anything, just dealing with their own shit and pretending to others they don't have their own baggage going on, otherwise it'd be too easy for him to get any resolution (frustrating as it is to wait). I don't think anyone aside from Katsuki, Toshinori and Aizawa even know he's Quirkless, wouldn't even be surprised if Inko doesn't and that's just standard Midoriya Izuku behaviour up to eleven ORZ

But I know if he were to open up again it'd either be through the biggest breakdown known to them or printing a letter again (okay the latter is a joke) because unless someone is a trained therapist or have All Might fanboy childhood friend privileges (and even then I'm skeptical he'll manage to make him spill everything out) the truths of that muttering mouth is gonna be shut-

he got into an argument with Arlo the asshole unicorn on neopets in 1994 and by sheer luck got grounded before she could open the message that would have Isekai-ed child Fiana onto a boat long after the end of the universe. On the night before his doctoral thesis defense she opened up his neopets account again just to try and destress and relax so she could get some sleep and welp.

he's the only human in the time of that pirate thing, is the eternal first mate of the harbor's bane (the pirate ship from the pirate thing), and wears a cat ear headband bc she thinks it's funny.

Has a grappling hook and is a great shot with it.

Mario and Luigi and DK are all getting lowered down from the surface on individual platforms and hung over a flooded, watery basement looking map. The lighting (or lack thereof) and the narrow, winding corridors speak of a building not unlike an office- once inhabited by humans, but now sunken and long-forgotten.

The curator is the one who put them there, and though they aren't seen, their voice rings out from above, reverberating off the water and rattling the chains holding the platforms in the air. They inform the bunch of spirited away heroes that they must pick between them two volunteers to wait under the water deep within the maze (in a dk esque barrel) while the remaining of them runs the level, hopefully finding their companions and the exit, and of course... avoid running out of breath before escaping.

Mario and Luigi are aware that DK is funny with water, so they busy themselves with rock paper scissors to try to decide between the two of them, and eventually DK knows he's the only real option they have here, and is just like "OK. It's gotta be me." Mario and Luigi are of course concerned. Can DK even actually swim? "The water weirds you out, doesn't it? One of us can handle this one-"But DK has made up his mind and is like "no stfu. Maybe I can't float well, and panic because of it... but I can corkscrew faster than you dog paddlers, and I have the best lung capacity here so. It has to be me."

And once he's on the course, DK just ignores all the sparkly coins and collectables in order to corkscrew quickly around underwater to check each crevice darker than the last since there's no coming back up for air allowed during this challenge. He eventually finds the barrel's location, collects the nerds, and is just above to cross the final threshold separating air from the water's surface, but his lungs finally give out and he starts to sink while Luigi and Mario keep swimming forward. They notice of course and dive back down to retrieve him and help yank his butt out into their next trial's destination - an underwater cave glimmering with aquatic ambience.
