You've seen this image before, but have you noticed the dates on the prison card thingies? Presumably this is written the American Way (the writers are so american they make Scout and Sniper both call their mothers "mom" despite preferring "ma" and "mum" respectively, as shown previously SEVERal times), so Spy and Scout were arrested on

The 7th of September, 1972.

We can do a lot with this information.

Mann Co was taken over by Grey and Olivia half a month before this: roughly the 23rd of August

Contrary to popular belief, most of the comics have to take place in 1973! Seeing as 6 months after late August is late February.

This also means Scout had to have been born in 1946/7. Not sure about Sniper, I have yet to overanalyse the New Zealand timeline paragraph. I'll get to it eventually.

Medic implies in comic 6 that our mercs have worked together for "at least eight years", while talking about the lore breaking Demo eyeball halloween thing. Assuming the "at least" confusion is over the 1972 Halloween they missed while not working together, the Teufort Nine were hired in 1964.

(I've almost mentally rationalised the lore breaking eyeball as a thing they do at like 4am after regular Scream Fortress shenanigans. Almost.)

Scout claims he has known Ms Pauling for six years. During the War! update, Demoman is unfamiliar with Ms Pauling (he knows she works for the administrator, but thats it), so we can assume that is the point she started working more closely with the mercs, and also 1966/7

I really need to go back to actively working on my timeline instead of passively wondering at 11pm "hey what time of year is it in the comics" and going down a rabbit hole.

UPDATE! This post seems to be picking up reblog steam again, so now is a good time to say I was WRONG about the mercs being hired around 1964.

This blog post from 2009 claims the WAR update took place in 1962, meaning the mercs have to have been hired in early 1962 at the latest.

Seeing as Scout would have been 15/16 in 1962, and as that's kind of the youngest one can be hired for just about anything, I'd assume it actually is 1962 they were hired. Ok thats enough I just felt it was my duty as Person Timelining to update people on this Discovery.

Sometimes, I forget how people view luffy with surface level information, both in the real world and in one piece. And it's just so funny

Like, my man, luffy, is a ray of sunshine and silliness. But this guy has:

Declared war against the world government (100+ countries in the world)

Mugged and beat the shit out of a lot people regardless of status since he was a child

Asaulted marine bases and kicking the shit out of them

Used people as hostages and human shields multiple times

Probably (definitely) killed multiple people (like not on purpose, he just beats them, and if they die is on them)

Broken PROVEN MURDERERS AND CRIMINALS out of prison for help.

Fought in a war against the marines with nothing but his fist and got away alive

Fought against the equivalent of the privateers (legally sanctioned pirates) and got 2 of them to switch to his side

Punched royalty multiple times and a celestial dragon for pissing him off

And like, these are neat and all. We do know the reasonable reasons behind these actions. But people inside this world just see him as a GOD DAMN LUNATIC THAT GETS AWAY WITH WAY TOO MUCH and just

LAUGHS IT OFF

People who recognize him just think

'This motherfucker destroyed enies lobby, overthrew an entire island goverment and punched a god damned celestial dragon and got away with it'

keep thinking abt hoshina and mina GOD.. (spoilers for manga and kn8 bside)

given what hoshina said about his previous division treating him like a burden/parasite just because he can’t handle firearms and specializes in his swords… how tiring must it have been to have to work with those people each mission despite having a common goal?

and how tiring must it have been to be constantly told off by his own father for wanting to continue his family’s tradition, or to be told to give up on being part of the jakdf by his own teacher -

before mina, a high ranking commander personally reached out to him, to recruit him into her team?

the fact that she didn’t see him during joint trainings and think: why bother with that? why bother with blades when bigger kaiju will appear? when she personally deals with bigger kaiju herself.

but she instead saw him and thought: he can help me, he can cover my weaknesses (mina not being able to handle a vegetable peeler is hilarious) and he’s someone i can trust

she sees potential in him, she sees how he can excel within her division, she saw hoshina and as captain - has probably heard everyone talk shit about him but she was still certain that he’d be one of her division’s greatest asset

(and even when platoon leader ebina refused to let hoshina help out, mina stood firm on her decision and her claim that hoshina would be useful. when she asked him if he could take down the big kaiju, and he could only promise saving the child within it - she believed him, took his word for it and waited until he carried out his promise.)

and now hoshina is the vice captain, putting faith in a new recruit whom most people wouldn’t have believed in… full fucking cycle..

tldr: it makes me rly fucking emotional to think about how hoshina was given a reason to continue improving with his swords after being told to give up all this time… and how mina had never once thought his abilities were useless 👍

also makes me crazy how protective he is of his position as vice captain, as the person who stands by captain ashiro’s side…

The beauty (yes tragic, but beautiful too) of Terence and Dion's love is Dion, an Eikon of Light and Sanbraque's hope, chose to love an ordinary human like Terence. Because Terence is a reminder that Dion too is a human, can be weak, can be wrong.

However after Dominion, Dion might think he was a mass destruction weapon in the end, something that his father saw him worth for. And Dion concluded that he didn't deserve love anymore. That's why Dion had to let Terence go. If Terence's still with him, he couldn't die to atone. Because in order to fix everything he did, he must throw his humanity off Valisthea and went apeshit as killing machine in which he can’t do that with Terence being an embodiment of his normality.

That's why he told Clive he'd stayed the last in Ash. That's why he'd risk losing control to fly to Origin. He could be a tool, a weapon, a taxi to Origin, just let him do something, fix something, help someone. He didn’t ask for acceptance, only forgiveness.

In the end, he became a weapon, as what his father saw him. That's why Dion said "Now, father, it's done" as "Now, father, I've accomplished what you wanted me to be." I'm kinda pissed a bit because it means Dion died believing his father is correct all along, that he's a weapon. But we as players knew he's none of that.

the thing about the danganronpa franchise is you get a character like hifumi who i feel like i would never normally get attached to because he's drawn extremely strangely which feels insulting since he's the only fat character in the first game and he's also kinda The Pervert but then its like. you get the second game where theres another Strangely Proportioned Pervert but he dies IMMEDIATELYYYY and is also sooooooooooooo much worse than hifumi and also the only other fat character in dr2 also dies immediately (and like half their whole character is being fat and eating a lot like… im sorry i have never been able to warm up to the imposter as a character. sometimes i feel insane that nobody else seems to find them uncomfortably depicted. am i just a huge freak?) and then there’s not a single fat character in v3. 

and then i look at hifumi again and i’m like. the fact you survived as long as you did is incredible. and you are not even really The Pervert of this game. that prize (?) goes to toko if we’re being real. king i’m sorry i ever thought you were drawn weirdly even though you are. i’m also sorry the english release translated your talent entirely wrong. get behind me hifumi
