Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?  I was wrong in my 2024 roundup post—I wrote 25k more words this year despite having 10 fewer fics. Which I did NOT expect. I figured I was trucking along to make my usual ~270k, but I forgot about The Secret Fics lol.

What’s your own favorite story of the year?  I think I have to go with Body and Soul(mate), which I'm just so so proud of. I love how it came out and I think it's really original.

Did you complete your writing goals from last year?  The Goal: My goal is to have a similar mix of fics as least year, and also to write my first collaboration with @cricketnationrise, which will be a long multichap. First part, pretty close. I wrote more multichaps (21% vs 15%) this year, which meant fewer fics in total. Second part, oops. Cricket and I have both been busy, but the hockey fic lives!! We'll get to it eventually!

Do you have any writing goals for the New Year? I can't believe I'm gonna say this but... write more original fiction. See below for more on that. Fanfic wise... finally finish some of the planned stories I've had kicking around for a while.

Did you take any writing risks this year? I submitted a pitch for an anthology, was accepted, and wrote my first original story! I had a lot of fun with it and I think I'll purse more next year. Idk if I'm ready for a whole novel and trying to get (more) published, but we'll see.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Even though it's numbers have come up since publishing, I'm still gonna go with The Impossible Soul, aka my Westworld-esque android/human AU.

Most fun story to write: Probably Body and Soul(mate). Figuring out all the body swaps and soulmate lore was a lot of fun and the whole thing just flowed so well.

Biggest disappointment: Why do I keep this question? I hate complaining publicly. 😂 My biggest disappointment is that I sometimes let fandom drama/trends/popularity make me feel bad. Being mad because a fandom loves X type of fic doesn't help anyone.

Biggest surprise: I'm not sure I really had any big surprises this year. Biggest surprise in my stats was that my percent of explicit works is way up—T used to be my most-used rating. Part of that is publishing fewer one-shots, since those tend to be T for me, whereas a long fic is more likely to be E.

Coming soon/planned for 2024: It's a little depressing how so many of these are the same as last year. Hence the resolution above, I guess.

LUCIA COMPARI ✨😈

She's my one and only Ravenclaw chaos gremlin with a penchant for dark magic, binge eating, and is a kleptomaniac.

In SSFS, her name nor backstory are ever brought up. This was mostly because I hadn't planned for it to be that long of a fic LOL. But ya know how that goes. MC is unquestionably her. I do plan on bringing her whole story into a future fic (which all of this is subject to change at any notice because I'm indecisive lol).

BACKSTORY: Girlypop's family is from Italy, though her status-conscious Halfblood family has been in the British countryside for two gens now. Her parents were having difficulty conceiving and used some unsavory methods of magic to have her, but she ended up being a squib as a result. They're deeply ashamed of her, and she's a bit of a Harry-type that she lives in their basement, isn't invited to social events, and just does chores and keeps out of their way. She's deeply obsessed with magic though, studies it, steals books on it, etc. Until one night while hunched over a tome, ancient magic bursts out of her and burns the entire basement to soot. And then she gets her ass shipped off to Hogwarts (seventh year - not fifth). Her parents try to shower her with attention and praise once she becomes magical, and uh, no thanks. I'll just say it doesn't end well.

PERSONALITY: Known to wear slightly mismatched clothes in a variety of patterns, colors, etc as so much of what she owns (during her time at Hogwarts in particular) is from her over-zealous use of alohomora around Scotland lol. I'm working on some clothing mods for her!! She loves collecting random things and hoarding as she was never allowed to as a child. She's very intelligent but extremely reactive which continues to put her in the line of fire (she's an Aries, after all). Almost everything that happens to her is her fault (or Sebastian's lol). She loves to complain about wanting some peace and quiet and then proceeds to do the exact opposite. She has difficulty expressing her feelings, but everything she's thinking is written all over her face. She looks at magic in a gray zone and is a clever duelist. To her, it's about survival.

AT HOGWARTS: She holds the record for worst attendance in Hogwarts history lol. In most of my AUs, she doesn't ever graduate her seventh year 😏 (maybe that's a spoiler but oh well LOL). She enjoys charms, runes, and arithmancy. Her ROR is a massive mess of stolen books, trinkets, pie tins lol, and melted candles with wax dripping onto every surface. She avoids the professors, ditched the Keepers, and refuses to be a quest solver for everyone in the damn castle.

Sebastian takes a liking to her immediately after she outsmarts him in the DADA duel. Their relationship is uhhh...LOL. They're a chaos couple that have the same stubborn personality. In almost all of my AUs (in my head because they're all hiding on my computer) he's taught her sooooo much magic that she missed out on. He took the "my charge" thing seriously lol, and even if she says she hates him (she doesn't), she thinks he's the most brilliant person she's ever met. They bond heavily over murder, trauma, and the Dark Arts and are extremely protective of each other. He absolutely loves getting under her skin, and she loves to scowl at him. 10/10 would sacrifice herself for him - they always go down together. It's basic, I know, but they're my OTP🥰

OTHER SHIT: Loves pie and pumpkin pasties. I have an AU where she's sent to Azkaban for ancient magic and Solomon's death, and Seb's a bit loony after using a time turner so many times trying to save her. If she had a job at the Ministry, she'd be a cursebreaker, but I see her more so living a happy life in the middle of nowhere with Sebastian running a questionable business together as for-hire cursebreakers/artifact hunters/sellers lololol. She cannot stand Cressida Blume. DESPISES HER. Her closest friends are Poppy Sweeting and Samantha Dale. Honorary mention to Imelda Reyes as well. Her hair is always wild and knotted and everyone has accepted it at this point. Without fail, she'll forget her gloves when its cold. The things that come out of her mouth would make an old Victorian woman have a stroke😈

001 The Simpsons!

Favorite character: Of course it’s Lisa Simpson. 🤣 When I first started watching The Simpsons, I was really intrigued by her character, and she grew to be my favorite character ever!

Least Favorite character: It would have to be Elizabeth Hoover. Lisa’s teacher at Springfield Elementary School. I just never liked the woman, at least with Edna Krabappel, who seemed like she didn’t like Bart. The thing was, she did actually care about her students and Bart, unlike Miss Hoover, who really doesn’t give a rat’s ass about any of them and has actually bullied an 8-year-old just because she felt like Lisa was a show-off. (Granted, Lisa can be a little full of herself at times, but she’s just a kid, and Miss Hoover is an adult who has personal issues and is taking them out on a little girl.) (Hehehe, I really info dump when it comes to a character I don’t like lol.)

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Lisa and Jessica are my OTP forever and ever! And I could go on all day about why I love them, but then I wouldn’t be able to talk about any other ship lol. I like to ship Lisa with the twin weasels ( I affectionately call them this and like to think Lisa does too 😂), Sherri, and Terri Mackleberry in a polycule V-type relationship (no incest), with Lisa as the hinge. (It probably goes without saying that I also ship the twins’ separately with Lisa too, and it’s usually Sherri. 😆) third pairing (yes, we are counting the twins’ as just the second ship, okay? They’re a unit right now, so I can say more ships,😂) would be Lisa and Allison. I love to think that if they had stayed very close friends, it would have turned into a friends-to-lovers situation, and I just think their relationship would be very cute and sweet, and they would grow old together. And my fourth pair I fancy is Lisa Simpson and Francine Rhenquist... You all are probably noticing a pattern... And you’re right because I have a thing—a thing for shipping Lisa with bullies... I just think she can be a bully whisperer and tamer, okay?! 🤣 And now, last but not least, my final and fifth pairing is Allison Taylor and Hubert Wong. I just think these two are too cute for each other! And they are just two cute little nerds in love. (Shout out to my sister @twisting-echo for getting me into shipping these two nerds).

Character I find most attractive: Groundskeeper Willie hands down! Have you seen that man without his shirt on? Absolutely beautiful~ 

Character(s) I would marry: Kang and Kodos, two one-eyed aliens, just for little ol’ me lol. 🤣💕💕💕

Character I would be best friends with: Professor Frink. I always loved his character and his zany antics.

A random thought: I once had a random thought about making a fic where it would be an AU where everyone had animal-like features, and I had wanted the whole Simpsons’ family to be cats. 😅🤣

An unpopular opinion: Oh, boy, here it goes... My unpopular opinion is that I really haven’t liked how they have written Marge in the newer seasons of The Simpsons. Just some of the storylines they do for her feel like they’ve done it a thousand times before, and it’s gotten old. And I have never liked how they have made it so that Homer has no problems bonding with his daughters, especially Lisa, but nothing with Bart. The same goes for Marge. I never like how in some episodes she can’t bond with her daughter, but honestly, it’s the writing overall because they always make either Lisa an asshole to her own mother or Marge is the asshole. Just why can’t they have cute bonding episodes for the whole family like what I’ve seen in Bob’s Burgers? 😭

My canon OTP: I wouldn’t say OTP, but I had always thought Comic Book Guy and Kumiko’s relationship was surprisingly cute and sweet. 

Non-canon OTP: This wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say it was Lisa and Jessica, now would it? Yessss, they’re my little babies! This ship is very dear to me; it’s been my OTP for years. 🤣💕💕💕

Most badass character: Gina Vendetti. I love her and think she’s a little badass. I also love to ship her with Bart. She’s his scary Amazon girlfriend who terrifies everyone around her lol.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Milhouse and Lisa; just no, I have never thought they worked well together ever! It's just sad to see him pine for someone who does not like him at all. Seriously, it was a running joke that Lisa settled for him, and that’s just sad. Millhouse deserves someone who actually cares and will love him, and Lisa needs to be with someone she’s not settling with because it’s all she’s ever known, and she knows he won’t leave her because he loves her too much and it’s just not healthy or fair to either one of them. (I love my girl, but she has to let him go so he can move on).

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I have never liked the slow decent at which they have taken Lisa’s character in how the show writes her. Back when the show first came out, she was intelligent, kind, and passionate about the planet and all living things. Mind you, she is still very intelligent, but they have taken some parts of her personality and turned it up to an 180. She is flawed, which is why I love her, but over the years, they have made her more of a snotty brat at times who throws her intelligence in people’s faces, and it doesn’t seem like she’s that kind anymore, and most of what she rebels against feels performative and hollow now. She could always be somewhat intolerant of opinions that differed from her own, often refusing to consider alternative perspectives and showing a feeling of self-righteousness. But it feels like that’s how she is all the time now, and I just haven’t been a big fan of what her character has become.

Favourite friendship: Now I’m going to completely talk about a “fanon” friendship since The Simpsons didn’t give me it in the canon of the show. I mean, sure, I could talk about Millhouse and Bart’s friendship, but sadly, while I like it, it is not my favorite, and the truth is, sometimes they abused each other more than they were good friends with each other lol. 😂😅 No, I’m going to talk about a friendship between Lisa Simpson, Allison Taylor, and Hubert Wong. I always thought it would have been nice for Lisa to at least have someone who was her friend in the show, someone she could bond with, just like Bart with Millhouse. But no, they have always made her a loner just for the sake of writing that not a lot of people like her in Springfield (poor baby, 😭) and they wasted the potential of Lisa and Allison’s friendship. In the show, they always show Lisa as a miserable adult who’s so bitter about everything. I like to think she would have grown up a little differently if she had at least one consistent friend (not Janey; Janey was just as bad as the twins’ with the way they bullied Lisa). And honestly, it would have been nice to see her hang out with two other people who shared similar interests as she did, and it just would have been cute. I definitely have more things to say about their friendship, my sister and I have made up in fanon over the years, but that’s definitely for a different post lol.

I’m so sorry that this is soooo long. 😂 Once you get me started on the Simpsons, I can’t stop rambling like a mad woman about it. 🤣 Thank you so much for this ask. This was so much fun to write out.

Oooh, such an interesting question. My fic? Someone else’s fic? Lol… I guess I’ll go off my own. :P Damn… See, because I usually do just write sequels if they come to me, but I also have some semi-abandoned wips from other fandoms that I’d love to have finished… Ok, kind of random, but looking through my fics list, I think a lot of my Oz ficlets present interesting cases for sequels… (yes this is more than one, shh)

Sunshine and Rainbows - Diane & Gloria - I envisioned it as pre-femslash so I guess it would be interesting to try and tackle the follow up where it tips more in that direction?

Blood Race - Miguel/Chico - Would probably take a sequel in a darker direction tbh, the hearts in Chico's eyes obscuring all the blood & that sort of thing. Despite everything, I feel like I've never really attempted to write a Miguel/Chico fic that's actually all that dark or toxic (relative to them and the show setting, obviously). It's still on my to-do list.

Recognition of Another - Kenmin & Cyril - Kinda in the back of my mind still obsessed with the idea of a canon divergence where Kenmin weirdly befriends Cyril instead (not with any noble intentions but still). Idk, Cyril's enthusiasm for wushu in the show was cute for those like... 2 seconds... But, nobody cares about Jia Kenmin and tbh neither do I, really. He's just kinda fun to try an understand, Chinese dude to Chinese character 😂

Personally, I think all of the demon boys can speak any language used on Earth. Like imagine Gavin travelling to Spain for example. Considering how big he is on consent and for simplicity sake, he would need to be able to speak Spanish to communicate with those he wants to feed on.

Do all demons use this? No. I'm pretty sure Vega's words just get translated into the person's native language on the rare occasions he does communicate with people.

Outside of the d(a)emons? Oh here we go.

This could just be me pushing a French Baabe agenda, but they give off the vibe of knowing another language. And as soon as Angel finds out, they immediate want Baabe to hold onto that card for whenever they need to lay the smack into Christian.

Sweetheart is another one, but I think they needed to learn multiple languages for their job. (Same with Cutie. Probably Cutie even more so since people think in their native language, and if they need to investigate someone mind, language barriers would be a pain in the ass.) Sweetheart would purposefully mistranslate words to people, just for shits and giggles. Even better if it's Milo.

But idk if any of the wolf boyos would hide it since theyve all known each other since they were kids. I also don't think they would mess with each other's mates to that extent.

Lovely and Vincent though? Those two would totally fuck with each other or other clan members when it comes to languages. Sam would probably give them the silent treatment after the fifth time in one afternoon. It got to be too much.

What do you think about the GOC books? Personally I enjoy them, but separate to the film. It’s very hard to connect the two worlds in my head especially when Joyce keeps rewriting the lore every couple years (no hate, love him as a person but it can get frustrating). With the added lore from his insta and stuff it just doesn’t feel like the same story

I try pretty hard not to yuck somebody else's yum when it comes to the GoC books. I know people like them and I don't want to dampen their happiness.

But man. Do I not like those books. I didn't even finish Toothiana's, technically, because I got so bored that skimming wasn't even good enough and I took pictures of the pages before I had to send it back to the library, telling myself I'd read them later. I never went back and read them. And at this point, I likely never will.

I have a laundry list of problems with the books. And if you really want to know the full extent, you'll have to ask in a private message somewhere because I don't want to make random strangers on the internet upset. But my dislike goes beyond the movie and book canons not lining up. Honestly, Joyce should have just embraced them being different canons, and the fifth book would have been better for it.

The tidbits from his insta don't even make sense half the time 😂 I appreciate his love of imagination and I respect that he just wants kids to feel a sense of wonder, but my personal journey with imagination and wonder do not work with his modus operandi.

I love hard science. I always have. To me, the weird things that are real will always be more fantastic than the weird things someone made up. I love the whole magic is science we don't understand yet concept, and given what the leading edge of science is doing right now? It feels real to me. Scifi is my home genre, and when scifi meets fantasy? My heart sings.

Joyce threw science so hard out the window it left orbit.

So there was really never a chance that I was going to seriously like these books. And his continued dismissal of continuity, while his right as a creator, feels like sandpaper to my physicist soul.

I do enjoy seeing what people pick from book canon to apply to movie canon when writing/drawing AUs. That can get very creative and interesting, especially since some of the characters from the books are solid and would have been cool to have in the movie. Kam and I, ourselves, have used book characters in our fics, because they do add something to the whole. Twiner and Jamie teaming up on Jack has become one of my favorite things.

So I'm glad the books exist. You just won't be finding them in my personal collection.

May 29 2023 - Elfstedentocht day!

Where and how to start describing what I'd been determinedly training for for...4ish months? 😊

In sum: 14,000+ cyclists, 235 kilometers in total, just under 11 hours on the bike, 14.5 hours total including breaks. 1 fall, lots of food, strong winds, and 100% fun!

We technically had a 5:56am start time but didn't get going until close to 7 due to traffic getting into Bolsward and the huge line to get the first stamp at the start point. It was all going well until we approached Harlingen (the second town) and I fell off my bike during a wide right turn due to a split second of inattention 😅. Bloodied my knee rather badly and it ended up throbbing and seeping blood for most of the day. After that slight mishap, most of the day went by amazingly well. A few fun things to remember:

First - the energy! There were crowds at every segment; from front yard neighbourhood parties blasting music to families sitting on lawn chairs throughout the route cheering us on.

Second - the food! Rob told me beforehand that this would be an eating competition as much as a cycling event. You have to CONSTANTLY eat to make up for the calories you're burning. I thought I would have no issues in this competition since I love to eat, but it got really hard partway through. There's only so many sandwiches you can eat in a day before it becomes a chore 😛. We packed Nutella and butter and jam sandwiches, and Lars' parents were absolutely amazing and met us at 3 different points with tons of food. Egg sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, cold cut sandwiches, raisin buns, energy drinks, bananas, apples, etc. For the most part you also have to wolf down your snacks really fast since you're not taking a break at every city. So everyone is stuffing their faces while lining up / walking their bikes to get their stamps - and I'm also not great at eating fast, haha. I did love the fact that at a random point biking through farmland, kids handed out apples so you could cycle and eat at the same time, or there would be a turnoff to pick up a banana or energy gel, or when we got soup at the midpoint back at Bolsward. At the end of the day I think I'd eaten 7 sandwiches, 1 apple, 2 bananas, 4 dates, 1 granola bar, 1 soup, 1 snelle jelle, 1 piece of chocolate, half an energy gel, and looking back, I should've eaten more.

Third - the breaks! Aside from Lars' parents, we also met up with our 'support team' (the rest of the high school friends). They took the motorbikes and also brought some snacks and good chats at 3 different points so it broke up the day nicely.

Fourth - the struggle! Strong winds meant great cycling when it was tailwind (mostly the middle part of the total route). It also meant difficult cycling during headwind (the first 80km and last 30km). The first 80 was fine, the last 20 was SO difficult, especially the section towards Workum (second last city). At that point my legs had run out of gas, I was cold due to the really chilly wind, and it felt like I was going on slow motion and just couldn't keep up. I seriously wondered if I had any more to give or if I'd make it to the end going literally 10km/hr at a snail's pace. But related to #3, it turned out I just needed more fuel 😂. We took a 10min break at Workum where I scarfed down half a snelle jelle and a granola bar and when we got on the saddle again for the last 12km, I actually felt human and had a ton more energy than before.

Fifth - the end! It was super cool to make it to the finish and see so many smiling faces cheering and clapping. In addition to the final stamp and the medal, I completed the day with a Red Cross volunteer wrapping a hypothermia blanket around me since I was shiveringly cold 😂.

Painful knee and gold hypothermia robe aside, I'm so happy I made it to the end and it really felt like all the hard work paid off ⭐️🥹.

“You do know he’s not behind there?” Tapping on the shoulder of a man with a beanie.

“What?” The guy peers around to look at you. “No way!”

“The white homeless-looking man?”

“Yeah, he’s waiting on the fourth floor.” You disappear before you he can ask you more questions.

You felt guilty for tipping him off, but then again it was part of the job. He was getting on your nerves, on multiple occasions, you had to stop yourself from telling him to get therapy.

You made a couple of laps around the car park, running up to different levels to have a sweep. Making your way down from the fifth floor you decide to check out how things are going on fourth.

Lemon was running away clutching his empty gun to his chest. Catching up, you began to jog beside him. “I take it went well?” You pant.

“Too well.” Slowing down as he made enough distance from the scene.

“What’d you do?” Stopping the same as he did.

“Shot him twice.” He said flatly.

“Is he dead?” You asked intrigued.

“Nah, I dunno, you’ll have to ask him.” Deeply laughing as he looked around, guessing to find his brother. “Oi Tan.” He shouts in an attempt to find him.

“What?” Tangerine shouts back in reply, standing in the stairwell. “Over here.”

Turning around to look at Lemon. “What would you say about me joining you both?” Smiling at him with puppy dog eyes, hoping it’ll persuade him.

“I’d say yes, but you know what Tan’s like.” Nodding towards his brother who was looking agitated.

You’d been running around the train nonstop, it felt like it was a literal death trap. You had so many random people that were just absolutely nuts.

You hadn’t seen your partners in a while, being too preoccupied with a reptile issue- you hated snakes as is, but the fact it was a poisonous one made you hide in the toilets, scared shitless.

Finally racking up enough courage to leave the toilets, sprinting down the aisles to make it into the next carriage. Oh thank god, Lemon is in there. Stopping yourself from walking in when you hear a gun go off. Watching from behind as the man fell to the floor. No! Wrong person Lemon!

Turning on your heel to try and find Tangerine, heading towards the back of the train.

Spotting him, eyes bugging out your head. Oh my god. He looks battered. Running up to him, “what happened?” You sadly ask, running your hands on his cut face.

“That prick pushed me off the train” he huffs.

“Jesus! I’ve got some cream in my bag, I just gotta find it first.”

“Where’s Lemon?” He asks, bending down to kiss your forehead.

“I just saw him a minute ago, I’ll go find him. Wait here.” You instruct. “We gotta get off this fucking train.”

Running into the carriages in hopes to find Lemon, they all look the bloody same. Having no luck you return to Tangerine. But he wasn’t there anymore, sighing frustratedly.

Hearing Tan shout you follow the sound. Running in between the cluster of three people. It was the annoying British girl and your old partner Ladybug, how odd.

“What the fucks going on?!” You demand, looking at them all.

“He’s been causing this girl harm, he’s got a gun aimed at her for Christ’s sake, excuse my language.” Ladybug responds.

“Oh have I fuck. She’s a dirty fucking diesel.” Tangerine shouts from behind.

“He’s not dangerous.” You flatly reply.

“Yeah, how do you know?” Ladybug asks.

“Because he’s my boyfriend.” Avoiding Ladybug’s gaze.

Lemon bustles in through the door yawning loudly. “What’s going on?”

Hi, do you have any beginner tips for lifting/getting into the gym? I no longer want to be a scrawny waifish butch and instead wanna be able to pick up my gf and look like mid 80s Bruce… If you’re comfortable talking about it I’d love to hear if you have any tips… I’ve been researching and have learned that diet is a huge part in building muscle but as far as the gym goes I’m lost… I’m honestly mostly just nervous because I have no clue where to start and don’t want some dude to help me (nothing wrong honest help I’m just shy and get embarrassed)… Thank you!!!

disclaimer what i know is a mix of what i learned from my dad and reddit threads LOL and my own trial and error. weightlifting really is the gayass journey of all time 💪🏼😋

first gonna keep it real with u ive lost a lot of muscle mass from stupid life events n being sad lol but im actually getting back into a routine for the first time in over a year. so i haven't properly lifted anything heavier than the 15lbs dumbells i got at home 😂 when i was once able to press more than my weight ✊🏼😔 BUT form is so much more important than lifting heavy. u will get better results lifting at a weight that you can control and build up lifting heavier over time 👍🏼 which i can go more in depth about how to do that. good form is so sexy and makes u feel and look so badass

u might find more eloquent lifters out there who talk about the mind and muscle connection and visualization. it's really cool stuff that connects practicing mindfulness as u workout which is what makes weightlifting so meditative to me. this will also help u maintain good form and i think nourishes a healthy mindset toward working out/yourself in general

n you are definitely right about diet playing a huge part. don't worry about bulking/cutting when ur first starting out, most important thing is making sure you're getting enough protein. if u are iron deficient i would look into taking a supplement! dont know all the science but iron keeps ur oxygen flowing better, so your stamina can be down if ur iron count is low. my mindset about diet is the simpler the better and u should never be miserable lol. i will never give up beer & pizza & a good time 🫡

second most important thing is sleep. make sure u get enough.

going to the gym can be a little scary, but that's where having a routine helps so much 🧑‍💻doing one of those dynamic workout routines u find on an instagram reel every now and then can be fun and i recommend it. BUT doing a random workout Everytime u workout will make it difficult to see results. doing the same workouts is how u can see ur progression better and focus on good form. im talking about learning the basics of benching, squatting, and deadlifting. 😜✌🏼

if u can, i would aim a routine of 3-4 times a week. I kept it like this:

2. leg day and abs

3. chest and triceps

what helped in staying consistent w going to the gym was having a set time where i would go. ritualistic

4th extra day: fun cardio like interval training or boxing. OR if i was feeling like i just needed a chill day a slow incline walk on treadmill/outside😊 then do some really intense stretching/foam rolling

The 3 "T's" stand for tiers starting with the most difficult exercises, so I could use most of the energy I have on it.

To elaborate further on how to see progress: say this week you're able to bench press 60lbs. Next week you try 70lbs on your last rep and it's kinda hard. The third week, you bench 60lbs again, and it feels a little easier now. The fourth week, you're benching 70lbs on your last two sets. By the fifth week, you find you're able to do your entire workout with 70! Etc repeat etc

when i first started i kept one of those tiny composition books w different workouts and id also keep track of how much i was lifting when i reached a new pr/mile time/etc. u can also just keep this in ur notes app. but i found having the paper in front of me was more efficient than continuously looking at my phone and fighting the urge to check apps in between sets lol. also if i was getting texts id have No Idea which just helped me reinforce the gym was Me Time

before u buy into a gym membership tho, take advantage if they have a free trial. u can find what time is least busy/if the vibe fits for u.

another tip. put a photo 1985 bruce on ur wall trust me this will help.

Just something about this is weird. The manga’s pretty fluid on its own, but it’s kinda, uhh, choppy? in the BLCD. Although I’m not sure if Smoky Nectar’s a serious manga with some comedy here and there, 50:50 serious and comedy, or is a comedy with some serious moments... it kinda doesn’t work in the BLCD. I mean, SatoTaku and Junya did well during the serious parts, but they seem to stumble during the comedy or the parts that lead to the comedic moments. Maybe the comedy just doesn’t transition well into the audio adaptation. *shrugs*

Let’s jump straight into the voice work, shall we?

I was quite interested in listening to this ‘cause yo??? Juujin bottoms??? If Daath and Kai were in these tones in Kemonohito, I would ship them 100% lmao, but then, uhh, idk, Junya was kind of a mess here. We’ll get to SatoTaku later, but I feel like they didn’t record this together. I do not like how Junya drags his moans on during their bedroom Redcross donations because he sounds very out of sync with SatoTaku’s ministrations (this is only very obvious in the first, though). I think he also has a hard time expressing the deadpan humor Mitsuru has. Sometimes my mind wanders off and starts having thoughts of either Reio, Ban, or Shouhei potentially being a better option for Mitsuru. That might just be my other issue with Junya. He was a bit too low for Mitsuru. I feel like if he was in a higher register, then he would’ve been able to express Mitsuru’s feelings better.

Now, as for SatoTaku, the man wasn’t free of my suspicions either. SatoTaku was a little too smooth to match Anna’s equally deadpan humor. I’m not saying that SatoTaku can’t comedy ‘cause sis you’ve heard Sonna ni, right??? But as compared to Anna, Shinobu’s more dynamic a character. Niyama and Ginger also gave the cast time to prepare before a big change in moods. Huh, I’m starting to think that this is the same thing that went down in Takasaki Bosco’s Torokeru Kuchibiru. I feel like Makonyan or Ono Yuuki would’ve done this better. But I know, I FUCKING KNOW, why Fifth Avenue got SatoTaku for this.

Thanks to Fifth Avenue, I know have my ringtone set to SatoTaku saying “erro” in the Mini Drama on repeat.

Goddamn I fucking flatlined on that one. I wasn’t really expecting much from the Mini Dramas, so thanks. 👍

Anyway, I also have to say that the sound effects as well as the bgms suck balls lmao. FIFTH AVENUE PLS. The main piano bgm also starts and ends in random places. There was also this part where Anna jumps off from a fucking building to the floor on the ground, making a table flip. Like we all know how a table sounds like flipped, right??? It definitely won’t sound like a chair shaking! 😂 I don’t think Fifth Avenue even cared at that point. 

This was actually a pretty decent adaptation despite the many issues I have with it. It’s pretty faithful to the manga too, although I would recommend reading the manga once before ‘cause you wouldn’t know what they were doing in real time without the visual cues. This is an action bl too, after all. If you’re looking for another vampire (the “biter” thing also threw me off a bit, but the “nectar” concept wouldn’t survive without ig) bl, I raise you Yuri Azuru’s Fujitsu de Fumou na Koi no Kami-kon starring Okitsu and Egu. That one’s a little disappointing on the action front, but it was a good vampire bl nontheless. Okitsu’s Lark was also a good comedic/spontaneous type, so that’s good vampire + comedy!

Random Bakugou headcanon for ya Jo!

I know some people say that Bakugou might like someone who's as fired up as he is or someone who is submissive.

I just sorta imagine him with a partner who kinda balances that? Like at home, you're really lovey dovey, and teasing him with soft smiles and kisses that make him swoon even after years of being together, you don't really object to whatever he wants to do and just go along with it.

And then there are the times where he's acting up at work, like threatening Deku for like the fifth time in under an hour, and you just glance over at him with a slightly annoyed look, and he just shuts up so fast. You have definitely kicked his ass before and he just doesn't want to jinx it.

Definitely definitely giving “the look” and he just stops because he knows what you’re capable of😂 I also like the idea of him getting into fights or arguments with paparazzi, reporters, other heroes/villains or just random men in bars and you just step in with your palm on his chest and it just completely grounds him? Like you’re whispering to him that they’re stupid or not worth it and he should stop and he just does. You can still feel the heat radiating from him but you’re the presence that just calms him?

But I also like the idea of bringing him out of his comfort zone too? Like being loud and bubbly and he’s just happy to sit and listen to you? Content to see you happy or smiling- and getting him to do new things because it’s not what you’re doing, it’s the fact he’s getting to do them with you?

So I asked someone about figuring out possible signs from deities and how to differentiate them from intrusive thoughts, since I have anxiety and depression. Like I told them, I was worried that I was missing something from the gods because whenever I have random thoughts or feelings I often immediately question or try to ignore them.

But this witch basically said to listen to my intrusive thoughts and to not discredit anything.

And now I’m kinda just feeling anxious (like usual 😭😂) because I don’t think this witch really understood what I meant by intrusive thoughts. I don’t think she was telling me to, idk, follow any sudden urges to hurt myself. I really don’t think she meant any harm.

But at the same time, what if she is (somewhat) right? Like, I know the gods would never ask me to hurt myself - so I know extreme thoughts like that are NOT them. But what about other thoughts I just have randomly? Like little urges that don’t hurt anything or anyone but I ignore them for whatever reason because my anxiety pings them and I second guess myself (and third and fourth and fifth guess myself….).

So now I’m worried that I AM missing some signs from the gods. But then I get nervous because that would imply I should pay more attention to my thoughts and my thoughts are not usually nice to me. I’m trying to learn how to pinpoint thoughts that are bad and instead of feeding them, question them and tear them apart and NOT listen to them.

So I’m just…. I’m kinda lost. I don’t want to miss signs that the gods might be sending me, but………

In my personal experiences, gods know better. They won't send us intrusive thoughts. They won't try to communicate with us by means of intrusive thoughts. Gods are aware of our mental illnesses and they will try to circumvent that. The last thing gods would do is contribute to the turmoil of our minds when they want our attention.
