So an orc is based on a two legged pigโฆ does that mean piglins are considered orcs?

The existence of Ratio's vertical pupils indicate that his species evolved as potentially apex ambush predators, while Aventurine's more diamond-shaped pupils suggest Avgins occupied a middle rung of the Sigonian food chain, with divided need to both track prey and maintain wide-angle vision to identify predatory threats. In this essay, I will--

Shoutout to all the other adults who have acne or any other condition of the skin that you are expected to outgrow or "just deal with."
Adulthood isn't this magical time where everything just disappears, and the reality is that these skin conditions are largely genetic. It isn't your fault (nor your skin's fault) that you are an adult with different skin than other people. In fact, it's neutral (and even, dare I say, good!).

I feel like if Dipper were ever reincarnated as a demon, he wouldn't fit in super well with the others. Yes, he's been raised to vie for power and step on everyone in his way using whatever means is necessary - it's the same toxic bizz as when he was a human, appealing to gender norms. He's tougher, scarier, more powerful (than ordinary humans, that is), but when it comes to asserting control - being Evil - he doesn't have it in him. Given enough time, I think he'd grow pretty vocal about leaving living things alone. NOT torturing organisms for the hell of it, or stealing people's souls, or conquering planets. Sure, he's a demon. That's no excuse to be a MONSTER.
It's a VERY unpopular opinion amongst neighboring demons, and rumor spreads fast about the Goody Two-Shoed Activist imp raining on everyone's blood-splattered parade, so much so that it makes it to Bill, who's immediately intrigued. Call it intuition, but only one soul's capable of overriding goddamn demon nature for some preachy bullshit about "Doing Good." Lucky for him, demons occupy the same plane of existence, so all it really takes to verify the guy is a snap of his fingers, and POOF! He's floating right next to him. Sure enough, Dipper's fashioned himself a new and improved demonic form, and it is lovely!
No one likes Dipper's kumbaya "Can't We All Just Get Along" ideology, but Bill's almost instantly smitten with the guy, whoever he is, so he's gotta be at least somewhat powerful. Demons take notice when the all-powerful Bill Cipher starts lending his time (and magic?) to some low-leveler like Dipper. Is he being blackmailed? Are they working together? No. Not possible. Bill doesn't "work" with anyone, save for whatever human catches his eye every few decades. Doesn't look to be doing him any benefit, either. The opposite, even. Lending power to a saint like Dipper only makes it harder to cause chaos, after all. Why would he actively go against his OWN best interest to cater some imp's? It's almost like he's. He's.
A henchmen.
(Bill's also 30% more affectionate the first month they reunite, because he still can't believe that his adorable little human husband came back as the same SPECIES as him! He'd never complain over having a sweet human to squeeze, but one with teeth and claws and cute pointy ears doesn't hurt).

as for how dandy's vet visit went, some good news and bad news.
so, I took him in because for about a month I've noticed he's kinda been moving a little strangely. not holding himself Up as much when he walks/runs, having trouble moving off and on his basking hide, not as good at climbing (though this could be because his nails are filed short naturally due to his tile?)
got him an xray today and the good news - no MBD, no gout.
but she did notice what she called "debris" in his back legs around his "knee" joints for lack of a better word. there is also a rough part on one of his hip bones that isn't on the other side and she said it's supposed to be smooth.
so... not great, but she's prescribed him pain meds and wants to see if this improves his movement, wants to re-check in a week and see what's changed. I asked what could cause this and she said one possibility is the cartilage between his joints is wearing down or damaged. she also said some kind of word that sounded like osteo-arthritis or something. I hope it's not that.
whatever it is I hope it does not progress. but once I know more I will post another update. for now please keep my little man in your thoughts that this is something that won't get worse.

Tips for talking to someone with hearing loss
(this is what helps when people are talking to me, and when I'm talking to my relatives)
Make sure they can see your mouth. Lip-reading helps with clarity, and facing them while you talk also helps a lot with volume. People are really bad about getting your attention, starting to say something, then turning away mid sentence. Stay facing them the whole time!!! (People are the worst about this while we are shopping together!)
Be comfortable with repeating yourself. Either they will ask you to repeat yourself, or you will realize they misheard you. Both of these are fine- just repeat yourself clearly and make sure they can see your face while you do. "Never mind" makes me sad :(
If someone misheard you: try rewording your sentence! Maybe certain sounds are harder for them to hear than other sounds. Instead of "grab that shampoo!" three times at increasing volume, try "grab that blue bottle, the one next to the conditioner" or "I like that dandruff shampoo up there, can you put it in the cart?" There are a lot of ways to rephrase things that will give the person you're talking to more chances to understand, and it feels much less patronizing for everyone. And make sure you're facing them so they can see your mouth!!!
If someone misheard you: try a Yes, And approach. If your grandma didn't understand your question and starts telling you an unrelated story, enjoy it! When she is finished, thank her, and then try asking your question again with more clarity, or worded differently. "No, that's not what I said" is much less enjoyable for everyone involved.
Enjoy your conversation! Not everything needs to be understood perfectly. The important thing is that you are spending time together and talking to each other. Each conversation is a journey and you will get there in the end!!!

Trying to be productive at work today but all I can think about are these fox toes I'm trying to design.
Smol.
Red fox toe beans are ridiculously small compared to most canines, so small they're not usually visible on winter coat foxes. Because of that, I don't usually bother putting them on my fox plush. Sewing tiny things adds considerable time and effort, and isn't worth bumping up the price for something hardly anyone will even see.
But.
I'm making a summer coat fox next. The beans are a lot easier to see when the toe fur isn't quite so floof, and I'm as much a sucker for beans as anyone else on the internet, so. Here we go.
I designed the original pattern with this possibility in mind, so it's mostly a matter of drawing into the existing pattern and adding some strategic darts. But placement--and where and how big to make those darts is where the "trying" comes in. I'm on my second draft (the picture above) and I feel pretty good about this one.
I thought about sewing claws out of fabric for about 5 seconds and decided I didn't hate myself that much (my wolves have sewn claws and they're the worst ever to sew, turn, and stuff). I'm using foam, at least until I figure out a more durable but still plushie-gentle material. I've done clay claws twice and they're both difficult to install and also not very cuddle-proof (unless you enjoy the authenticity of being clawed by the animal you're holding), though I do have some cosclay I could try which is softer. Felt lasts about 5 minutes before looking like my hair after it rains, and folded faux leather turns to string cheese. But the foam claws on my coyote have held up well for the last 3 years so I'm giving it another go with an even thicker foam. But if anyone has any suggestions please do let me know!
