btw you can mix and match things so don't be afraid of asking for certain characters as certain creatures if that makes sense, i mean i've draw ac characters as extinct animals before and it's hella fun

I’m playing through AA4’s final case again, and I realized something important:

Some time after Day 1 but before Day 2 of Vera’s trial, Wright pulls Apollo aside… and talks to him. A proper talk this time — no more hiding behind half-truths and half-hearted jokes. He tells Apollo everything.

A big event summed up in a single line (booo), but a line rich in implication, either way.

Because how did Apollo feel, sitting there and listening, as the man he believed in for seven years — a man he insisted was innocent, both in and out of court, only to seemingly be proven wrong; his idol was a fraud and worse, roped Apollo into being one, too —

finally lets him peek at the real Phoenix Wright?

A man so damaged, he’ll fight in whatever way he can (forgery and proxy wars included) to unravel the mystery that ruined his career; bitter from his drink of fraudulent defeat.

I can only imagine Apollo feels bitter himself over the confession at first — asking “why didn’t you let me know sooner?” — before a wave of relief, maybe even sweet vindication, hits him.

Because the truth of that infamous case was something he was saying all along: Phoenix Wright was never a fraud. (But he is an asshole).

I've been wanting to post about this since I finished episode 3 of Resolve (I decided to finish the game first and I'm glad I did) but so much about prosecutor Kazuma breaks my heart.

Kazuma, from the moment he's introduced, is very obviously proud of being Japanese. This reflects in his design and his theme (Samurai With A Mission) — The Great Ace Attorney's soundtrack composers did incredibly well with the soundtrack, especially character themes (the absolute genius of The Great Ace Attorney's character themes is for another post and I swear I will make that post at some point). Kazuma's default theme uses a lot of Eastern inspired instrumentation. It's also incredibly uplifting and optimistic, being played in a major key.

Prosecutor Kazuma is the total opposite, not in that he's necessarily ashamed of being Japanese but he throws his culture away. He utilizes a western-styled sword instead of his usual katana (and at the end of Resolve gives the katana back to Ryunosuke because he doesn't trust himself with it) and dresses quite similarly to van Zieks, a member of the British aristocracy. Additionally, his theme as a prosecutor (The Revived Prosecutor) is in a minor key and more akin to van Zieks's theme (and both are sinister but in a fast-paced way. I also think both have tragic undertones).

In addition to all of this, he acts like he's not Japanese during the last trial, something Ryunosuke brings up multiple times, for example this exchange between Ryunosuke and Kazuma during the discussion of gentlemen's clubs:

As a prosecutor his design and theme are completely separated from his heritage and he makes an effort to separate himself from it and it makes me really sad. He willingly goes against Stronghart's will, which has me inclined to believe he's purposely trying to separate himself from Japan (alternatively, he was pressured into it by van Zieks, which while I can see happening because of how van Zieks is, I also can't see Kazuma going along with unless he wanted to appear more British because Kazuma's stubborn as hell).

It's just really sad to me, seeing Kazuma go from very obviously proud of his heritage to actively trying to ignore it.

You know what? We are all aware of and appreciate the Archanea homages in Fire Emblem. But let's not forget the others. Gaiden got a meaningful dedicated homage all the way back in FE8. Genealogy has had the obvious successor in Three Houses, and I'd even argue all the way back in Awakening. So, that's right. It is time. We NEED the Fire Emblem Game that is an obvious narrative homage to the GBA Era Fire Emblems.

I didn’t like Furina at first because I usually don’t like characters whose main traits are arrogance and putting down others (shocking admission from the scaramain, I know), but then I realized she’s a cringefailgirl whose desperation to make her people love her have turned her almost into a clown. I am looking for good references to draw her and Arlecchino as a pierrot and harlequin as we SPEAK.

Important paleontology facts about beloved T-rex here! T-rex was most likely an ambush predator, hiding from its prey before leaping out to catch it. It wasn't a very fast runner since it's so big and heavy, so pursute predation wasn't the best option for them. They had padded cushions on their feet that made their steps silent, and most likely had proper camouflage colors to blend into their environment. T-rex also could not roar; roaring is a very mammalian thing. Instead, T-rex most likely had a low frequency bellow that could not be picked up by human ears, but that you could feel from miles away, vibrating through you like heavy bass at a concert. It also had feathers, and i will fucking fight you if you deny this because this bitch had an ancestor 10 million years older that still had feathers and 10 million years is not enough time to go completely featherless because WHALES used to be covered in fur, and they took 50 MILLION YEARS TO EVOLVE, AND THESE BITCHES STILL HAVE WHISKERS, SO FEATHERS ARE A BASAL TRAIT TO ALL THEROPODS AND BASAL TRAITS ARE REALLY HARD TO GET RID OF, FEATHERY T REX SUPREMACY ahem, anyway, realistically, t rex would not be able to survive in today's climate cuz it's much too cold and there isn't enough giant prey, but shhhhhhhhh isu bullshit and whatever lmao
