Fun fact the cousins headcanon started cus i have an online cousin who sounds JUST LIKE GEM. Its like uncanny. Except my cousin sounds a tad more tired and awkward sometimes id say buuuut still!

Except then she actually joined the series her cousin partakes on! She's part of them cool kids! She meets Pearl's friendgroup. She makes friends herself. Its nice!

And then when push comes to shove- she choses her brother over Gem.

Pearl chose Scar over her.

How could she?

Pearl explained, a season later, that its because Scar was there for her when no one else was, she had to return the favor, she couldnt just leave him hanging when he needed her. And yet Gem takes that the wrong way

Pearl wishes she cared. But she cant. Cause out of petty grudges. Drama she knows the watchers wont even like enough. Because its fake and unprovoked. At least in her eyes.

She cannot care cause because of that pettiness she lost her closest ally, her soulmate. And instead was left stuck with- the worst version of him. Who cannot even believe her when she says this isnt the place they split up in. This isnt the place they cut the thread, its one with a way stronger bond without the need of any strings attached.

She is stuck with the person that hates her the most.

But of course. Gem doesnt know that. Gem doesn't believe that. She *can't* believe that. Cause how could she?

Everyone loves Pearl. She knows that. The thought of someone hating her is just- ridiculous. She's the first one to dare and do such a thing! And she's the best at it too.

She's no longer her player 2. Gem is her own player 1 and she decides if to go solo or co-op. And she choses Joel. She choses her own team. And Pearl wont be a part of it.

bear with me please and understand i may be a fool. SO

every industry has some amount of sexism going on in it. i mean look at the executive board for every company. the entertainment industry is particularly obvious in it's sexism because the industry itself is SO visible. no one hears about a friend of a friend who works in a small school district and got told weird shit by the superintendent, but when a blockbuster movie comes out we can all see the way the camera and the script and the promos treat the woman differently. the point of the fucking entertainment industry is to be seen, and so we see.

in online entertainment (particularly streaming and youtube) shit gets crazier because while the entertainment industry has SOME protections, the online space isn't so...i guess the closest word i can find is "centralized"? a good intimacy coordinator can help someone feel safe while filming certain scenes and can advocate for boundaries, there are unions, there's other more specific resources people pull on but i can't think of their names because i don't follow hollywood activities much. point is there's almost always a company that has authority/power over things and they can (CAN, they dont always DO) use that authority to make the workplace less misogynistic. but theres just no equivalent for that in independent online entertainment. youtube/twitch/whoever should (again SHOULD, they don't always DO) be moderating the content actually posted on their platforms, but what if a creator gets harassed in a discord server? or maybe a couple creators meet up and, oh idk just off the top of my head, one of them gets shitfaced and calls the woman in their group a whore? whose fucking jurisdiction is that?

i feel like MCYT in particular has this problem just because of how minecraft is built. yeah you can play it solo but the game hits best in multiplayer, particularly with servers where people can consistently interact and build bits and dynamics and plotlines (not just RP plotlines. group builds and prank wars are plotlines). so as these servers happen you get these little petri dish workplaces with WILDLY different experiences largely dependent on whoever started the attached discord server. the experience of working in Hermitcraft is not the same as Lifesteal SMP is not the same as QSMP is not the same as Bear SMP is not the same as DSMP and so on and so on.

stack this fuckin online fallout-bunker-esque weirdness on top of being within the wider gaming community. women have been involved in gaming since it fucking started as an industry and yet to this day are consistently erased in both the development of games and the audience playing them. so even in more chill workplaces like Hermitcraft (allegedly chill. big allegedly chill. i have been burned before. this post is from January 12 2025) with a server of 24 active members, only 4 aren't cis men.

i guess my point here is i don't think that something about MCYT is uniquely misogynistic as compared to idk whatever community is consistently playing Marvel Heroes. i do think that online independent entertainment is particularly prone to exploitation because of the lack of actual network for people to get help from, and i think MCYT comes up more frequently than other communities when we discuss this abuse because the collaboration-driven nature of the game causes there to just be more of those consistent group environments where the workplace culture gets fallout-bunker crazy.

p.s. if someone familiar with other streaming circles and the level of misogyny/exploitation going on over there in comparison to MCYT please let me know i'm very curious. i've got a tinfoil hat that says that another reason we hear about it more in MCYT is that minecraft's versatility as a medium draws in a more diverse audience so people are able to at least Eventually open up about abuse and get sympathy more than they would in other streaming circles like idk Marvel Heroes. idk why i'm going in on Marvel Heroes in this post but thats our strawman for today ladies and gents its Marvel Herooooes

Jade Chan, niece to Jackie Chan, an archeologist and also part-time advisor for Section 13, has finally become a full-time member. She was now a secret agent and was excited for it. She knew all her hard work and patience has finally paid off. At this rate, she'll have the same level of success her future self did, provided she avoids what caused her to end up in desk duties.

What she didn't like though was finding out she had to team with a partner, your muse. She didn't mind teaming up, but this was her first mission and wanted to go solo. But Captain Black insisted on her having a partner. So, she leads your muse towards the garage to pick out a vehicle for them to drive in.

"Look, no offense, but I can handle this mission on my own. It's a simple get in and get out without anyone noticing me being there. I've been trained in situations like this and I can handle it on my own. You can stay and just be lookout, okay?"

Does anyone have story writing tips?

I mean, I need to brush up on my literature and literacy skills for starters.

I'm really keen on writing a fanfic for Fortnite. I want it to have action, suspense, sorrow, happiness, longing, symbolism, and more.

But! I have bad writers block.

I'm so rusty at writing and setting the scenes and using literary things. I have a small idea of what I want to write (Montague pining for Valeria. And as a subplot or a separate story, Midas feeling isolated.). I just don't know where to begin creating it.

I find roleplay easier than writing solo stories because I can bounce ideas off of the other person, and they can send back ideas, and I can write a reaction to their reply and so on. I have a good set of RPs going on with two good mutuals of mine on another social media, and I just wish I could write my own stories to the same level that I write and reply to our roleplays.

I should probably write. Write, write, and write some more.

I need to practice. And I definitely need some inspiration.

We're still putting the info together and the discord/website look like a tornado ran through them, but here is a break down of what Hetherev (2) is. This group is 21+ only. So is the discord. Hetherev was an ArtRPG on Deviantart that I created some years ago, with the help of a small group whose names I don't quite remember. I kept the name for sentimental reasons, but this group is new and uses Discord as its base. It is not a reset of or continuance of the former. It is its own thing, with new sets of challenges and a slightly different spin on the interdimensional trope Heth was originally based on.

From the website: Hetherev is a fantasy world that exists between other worlds. Anyone from anywhere can just happen into it! Getting there is easy. Getting out? ... Not so much. Drop an OC in our sandbox and progress its story by drawing challenges and exploring zones, and meet some other OCs along the way! Work at your own pace. There are no deadlines! Do I have to Rp? Nope. Roleplay is available if you want it, but this is an art challenge group that encourages its members to do more art and learn from the art that they do, while having fun progressing their character's story. for this cycle, we’ll be implementing a different way of submitting gig claims as a way to help everyone see what can be claimed.

first you will have to go to this DOCUMENT and check the “INTRODUCTION” tab to read the instructions. afterwards, you will go to your muse’s tab and fill out the “REQUEST FORM” section ( activity level, gig, other participants [ if applicable ], skill distribution, and notoriety ). the “ADMIN APPROBATION” column must be left blank and will be updated whenever one of the admins has reviewed and scheduled the gig. once you are done filling out the request form section, you will see a row that says “READY FOR ADMIN REVIEW?” and a drop down menu next to it. select “YES” when you are done. once everything has been reviewed by an admin, the drop down menu will change to “REVIEWED” and you can start writing the twitter posts for it. when we receive the twitter posts, that status will then change to “APPROVED” by the admins. you have until AUGUST 17, 2024 11:59PM EDT to fill out the request form.

if you take more than one notoriety tier gig, please copy the section multiple times but make sure to submit all of the gigs in one submit to make it easier for us when processing them! once all of the gigs have been processed on both ends, we’ll make a note on NOTORIETY TIERS DOCUMENT. you can link the document in your points sheet as reference since we will have a new document for every NT cycle.

OTHER EXPERIENCE

while it is optional to fill the section in the sheet, we recommend muses ( especially ones who have recently reached 200 notoriety in the past few months ) to fill that section in case you are planning on taking any gigs that may have some pre-reqs associated with it ( eg. being a temporary [ 1 month ] co-host in a music show, which would require having 75 KOREAN, 50 MCING/HOSTING and prior experience as a one-time co-host/host for a podcast, youtube show, or vlive show ). there’s no deadline with completing the section so you can do it past the deadlines if you wish.
