wdym otome games are about romantic relationship between love interest and heroine and not about finding some fucked up toxic yaoi in the route and creating a different story entirely in your head

I still can’t get over the fact that these two share the same VA. My mind was blown when someone pointed it out on twitter. I knew there was a reason why I was drawn to Solitus besides aesthetic reasons and now I know why. I need a Solitus route damn it, let me have my otome dreams of dating him.
Left: Lilia Vanrouge from twisted wonderland
Right: Solitus from Cafe Enchante
(Also the he can be your angel or your devil meme pops up to mind)

Much like one of those in the fictional stories about a boat that carries a soul into the land of the afterworld.

A love interest being a yandere for the protagonist is one thing. It’s not a completely tired out trope with no creative takes. But it’s common enough.
But a supporting character being a yandere for a love interest? Okay, now you have my attention. That’s got vibes that we need to explore.

Mizuki's fragment SEKAI, first seen in the side stories for their Solitus Utopia Colorful Festival card, primarily uses a blue, pink and white color palette that heavily resembles the transgender pride flag. It is extremely likely that this was an intentional design choice, especially when you take the story from this card into account.
In the story, Mizuki is out shopping, when they are spotted by some people from school who make some rude comments about them. They later see a pair of friends who are shopping together, one of whom wants to try on some new clothes, but is discoraged by the person she is shopping with. Mizuki brings up what they saw to the members of 25-ji Nightcord de later on, to which the members respond saying that they think the person should've let her friend try on the clothes, and people should be allowed to wear whatever they want. Mizuki then imagines what it would be like if there was a place where no one would say rude things to them.
Their Fragment SEKAI is created based on this thought. It gives them a shopping mall full of all the clothes, accessories and food that they love, with no one there to judge them. However after a while Mizuki feels lonely. MEIKO appears, and Mizuki asks if they can leave. MEIKO confirms that they can, but asks Mizuki if they really want to leave when they can be themself in the Fragment SEKAI. Mizuki does decide to leave, because they want to be back with N25.
Mizuki's Fragment SEKAI was created from the desire to be able to freely express their gender and interests without being met with transphobia. Ultimately they decide to return home, because even though they know people will still judge them and treat them with disrespect, they have friends who care about them, even if Mizuki isn't honest with them about everything. Considering this, the color palette for Mizuki's fragment SEKAI was more than likely intentional, outside of the fact that Mizuki themself is outright shown to be transgender.
