Improve your existing system’s performance with the Lexar® NS100 2.5” SATA III (6Gb/s) solid-state drive (SSD). This easy upgrade gives you faster boot-ups, application load times, and data transfers turning your old computer from dinosaur to dynamo with read speeds of up to 550MB/s*. It is also cooler, quieter, and uses less battery life than a traditional hard disk drive.

Tech Companies Suck (and I’m Not Talking About Social Media, Surprisingly)
Only one of my laptops has a reliable keyboard. Image via Pixabay by Simon. Yes, tech companies suck! Today’s my birthday (don’t ask), and I’ve decided to make another blog post here. (It’s been over a year since I posted on this blog, and I didn’t publish anything in 2023! 😲) What am I talking about today? I want to complain about Microsoft, HP, and tech manufacturers in general. If you had…

What is a Storage Controller?
Storage arrays all have some form of a processor embedded into a controller. As a result, a storage array’s controller is essentially a server that’s responsible for performing a range of functions for the storage system. Think of it as a storage computer. This “computer” can be configured to run by itself (single controller), in a redundant pair (dual controller) or even as a node within a…

I'm really into the fanon Vs comic reader poll but putting aside the current results. I'm so perplexed by the amount of people using '.... But comics are expensive' as an excuse. Do they not know about the massive free online archives? There are thousands of comics you can only read because they're in there
It gets sort of hairy with this one because accessibility is a genuine wall for some people, and that wall sometimes really rooted in being illiterate with technology.
Comic hosting sites like [redacted] are generally unusable without an ad-blocker and there is population of people that simply don't know how to implement one - either on a computer, laptop, tablet or a phone. They just don't know how.
Some people genuinely cannot get these ad-blockers on their device because it might be school equipment or are their parents/partners or even an abusers and as such even if they wanted to put one on, they can't.
Some people cannot READ comics on a small screen like a phone, but they do not have any other device for which to read comics - this is one of the bigger prevailing things stopping a lot of people from seeking comic archives out. They cannot access the site on their phone easily either without said ad-blocker which these two in combination just makes it too complicated.
Yes, some people might not even be AWARE of comic sites at all and just feel uncomfortable using them when they find out.
Not knowing what resources are out there and how to get them is a real issue that a lot of people struggle with and it is only getting worse as tech literacy and internet navigation skills dwindle.
If you are reading this now - I really do implore you to get more familiar with using the internet - not apps, and learn how to use a computer if you only ever used tablets and phones growing up.
If I have to teach someone who is only 5 years younger than me how to make a new folder on the computer and how to rename a file, I am going to lose my mind. Some of you guys are at the same level that 70 year olds were back when I was in highschool and we ran a free computer class to teach them computer basics, and it's not your fault.

if i ever DO decide to move to the midwest, or just generally the US east, which is where the midwest is, ive got to start an influencer-style shortform video series where i try out non-Californian things for the first time from an extremely Californian-perspective

The funniest thing to me about analogue horror as a genre is that if those VHS tapes are being stumbled upon now, roughly 30 years after they were made, if they weren't stored in ideal conditions there's a good chance they're already demagnetized and won't play back correctly at all

SOLID STATE MEMORIES
"And who's the gal?" "That's Thalia." "Oh... right. Damn, she had style." "I know right? She was punk as fuck, to the end." "Were you growing up together, like with the guys?" "Nah, she joined us a few years back. She just showed up one day and never left. Kind of a loner, but we were getting along. She was very cool once you got to know her." "Yeah, no doubt. Wait a second, look at me... You had a crush on her, didn't you?!" "Oh, shut up! Maybe a little... She wasn't the dating type, though."

Friendly advice for those with computers or potentially getting a computer: SSDs are worth it.
A SSD is a solid state drive. It serves the same purpose as at HDD or hard disk drive that is found on most computers. The only real difference on a surface level is that a hard drive uses a disk and an SSD doesn't not. The only part you should care about is that a SSD runs a lot faster than a HDD. This means that a computer with a SSD as the primary storage (or the C: drive in many cases) will allow the PC to startup and shut down much faster, access/manage files faster, and last much much longer than a HDD.
If you ever turned a computer and can't do anything because the "Disk" in task manager is at 100%, it's because of the HDD.
You can have both an HDD and an SSD, but Windows (the OS or operating system) will run better on the SSD. The computer will turn on faster. It will shut down faster.
How do I know this? I've seen it twice (technically three times). I put an SSD on my old laptop from around 2015 and reinstalled windows it. The startup and shutdown process mimics a new laptop (the SSD was NOT brand new). This was a laptop that died on me right before my college exams, so it's not my primary PC anymore.
The other more compelling example is I did the same thing to my parents' old 2017(? maybe older) office computer. My parents have complained for years about it running slow. The new SSD I put on it is the first solution that actually brought new life into it.
By the way, you might think a new hard drive would have a similar effect of the new SSD, but a new hard drive is slower than a new or old SSD. It was something I experienced in my current PC while trying to switch to an SSD with larger storage. Windows had always been on my SSD and as soon as I put that OS on the hard drive, it was significantly slower.
A SSD will allow your computer to run well for so much longer. I cannot figure out why the worthwhile investment in a SSD is understated, and I won't shut up about it. Sorry if this was hard to follow. When I'm done with college I'm making an informative comic/info graphic for this.

hi i know you said you don't go there but i did want to let you know that in 911 hershey pa is canonically where buck and maddie (they're brother and sister) were born and raised! its not a rando town that op chose for their edit lol
Oh, really? I didn't know that at all! I've yet to watch a single, full episode of 911 in my life to be honest. That's pretty cool! It's so crazy that Hershey, PA is somewhere most people do know about for obvious reasons (ie: Chocolatetown), but outside of that and the tourist areas? It's got a very small town, great to raise a family feel to it. I don't live IN Hershey, but I do practically live on it's doorstep. This is my home land and I'm proud of it. :)
