Long ass post about The Penguin on Max and specifically Sofia Falcone. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

I can't continue posting about The Penguin without bringing up Cristin Milioti's INSTANTLY ICONIC take on Sofia Falcone. Her arc perfectly mirrors Oz's in almost every way. Oz is introduced as a sympathetic and charming, albeit violent gangster, and as the show progresses, we see just how twisted, sick, and irredeemably evil he truly is. Whereas Sofia is introduced as a twisted and unstable serial killer fresh out of Arkham, and there is an ever-present tension and sense of danger whenever she shares a scene with Oz in the first few episodes. But unlike Oz slowly revealing himself to be a true monster, the more we see of Sofia, the more we begin to empathize with HER and FEEL HER PAIN and actually root for her success.

Her arc is tragic but her violence is cathartic. She doesn't deserve any of the horrible things that have happened and continue to happen to her. The writing is simply superb, always teasing an eventual true descent into evil like Oz, but she NEVER crosses that line despite all the motivation to do so. Plus, on a purely aesthetic level, she OWNS almost every scene she's in, and Milioti is masterful at reflecting the inner turmoil, rage, and trauma this character goes through. Also huge shout out to the wardrobe department for making almost all of her looks fucking STUNNING.

Laura LeFranc pulls off the ultimate trick in drawing us in with Oz's undeniable charm while also forcing us to be wary of Sofia, so by the time the last few scenes in the final episode play out, YOU feel just as BETRAYED, GUTTED, and HORRIFIED as poor Vic in his final moments when you realize Oz truly had you fooled. I was almost in literal tears when Sofia took one last deep exhale in what she thought was gonna be her final breath and escape from the horrors, only to have Oz shatter that dream as well by having her arrested and ONCE AGAIN framed. I was FUCKING furious, I can't remember the last time I felt such passionate rage for a character I started out rooting for. Masterful writing, masterful performances, a true masterclass in almost every way. My ONLY wish now is to see her and Zoë Kravitz's Selina team up and bring that monster down, like Batman can help if he wants but he would honestly just get in the way of true justice with his whole "no killing" buzz kill rule. So fuck it, give me Selina Kyle and Sofia motherfucking GIGANTE teaming up to rain literal hell upon anything The Penguin touches!

IL MUSEO

Il Museo Sigismondo Castromediano di Lecce è il più antico museo pubblico di Puglia!

Fondato nel 1868 da Sigismondo Castromediano, patriota, archeologo e letterato leccese del XIX sec., ripercorre la storia del Salento dalla preistoria alla civiltà messapica. Ricco di antichissimi reperti provenienti da tutto il Salento, conta la più completa collezione di vasi attici a figure rosse, di ceramiche messapiche e infine di statue di età imperiale, provenienti dall’anfiteatro.

Ogni epoca storica è contraddistinta da una serie di icone che permettono al visitatore di scegliere tra i diversi percorsi: paesaggi del mare, paesaggi di terra, paesaggi del sacro, paesaggi dei vivi, paesaggi dei morti.

Nella struttura sono presenti una biblioteca specializzata, un laboratorio di restauro, un auditorium e un co-working.

Durante la call "Ché la dritta via era smarrita", dopo un'approfondita visita guidata alla collezione con la Dott. Annalucia Tempesta e la Dott. Alessandra Berselli, i nostri swapper hanno mappato su supporto digitale open source (padlet) tutte le opere del museo, permettendo al visitatore di scoprire rapidamente le provenienze dei reperti della collezione archeologica, vederli in foto e leggerne le didascalie.

Nella seconda call "Raccontami una storia prima che faccia buio", i nostri swapper hanno intervistato gli "abitanti" del museo, gli operatori museali, Piergiuliano e Mario, raccogliendo memorie e testimonianze e dando il via ad un archivio delle memorie del museo.

Al museo abbiamo potuto conoscere molto a proposito dei nostri avi e di come era popolato il nostro territorio migliaia di anni fa, scoprendo una storia incredibile nascosta dalla nostra terra così ricca di cui non conoscevo abbastanza.

Ciao, sono Matteo Gigante a.k.a Spino 17 anni classe 4°N del Liceo Scientifico Giulietta Banzi Bazoli. Grazie alle nostre tutor Delia (da noi appellata Zia) e Elena (sempre con lo stesso appellativo) ho rivisto completamente tutti quelli che erano i miei pre-concetti sui musei e sui luoghi culturali, ritrovando quello che era un interesse per la cultura che, se non tramandata rischia di essere una delle perdite più grandi dell’umanità, forse addirittura di più dei ghiacciai in scioglimento! Alla fine di questa esperienza ho capito che dentro alla nostra città c’è molto più di quello che si possa immaginare e che prima di viaggiare all’estero, magari sarebbe bello scoprire quello che ha da offrirci culturalmente e soprattutto che le persone che mi hanno accompagnato in questo percorso sono forse le migliori che potevo trovare, senza forse.
