Ch-ch-ch-ch-chaaanges! . On the eve of his 9th birfday Hagrid and I had our first casual chat about changes. My amazing coach @cindythaxton and her eagle eye helped us get the balance and quality needed to even start this conversation. Of course it's not clean and pretty, it's our first ever exposure to it. This is only attempt one out of many! . Luckily, I picked up two extra rides Friday, and one extra ride today on horses all at various stages with their own flying changes. This allowed Cindy and I to hone my feel for and buzz up my timing for the change. William and I played with our happy place, two-tempis; Calidad, the jock of Gallifrey, and I discussed the straightness while keeping all of his body parts with us in the single changes; and Moe! My goal was to take the anxiety attack out of the change so he didn't feel so panicked about not doing the right thing. . Today I embraced the #hummingbird . Well, okay, it was probably being well fed and pounding caffeine like its my job today but still! Things moved faster than they ever have for this ol' 🐌🐌🐌! Thanks to @joseph_quarterman for being my in person hype man! . Vid1: I think the fastest I've ever pulled 285 off the floor. Vid2: Banded 265, also quite speedy for me! Oh, girl. I'm not sure where today came from but everything felt great and almost light, even these 85% 3x3 #deadlifts . I think I have been over doing my warm ups and fatiguing myself before even getting to a top set. So, today I backed off my warm up a bit and I might be on to something 🤔 I followed a suggestion from the all knowing @gritbarbell.jp for my stance and I think my body has finally fallen into a sweet groove with it. Or today all the planets and #hormones aligned for some great lifts. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Either way, thanks Universe. Is it sad that this is probably the best part of my day and it was at 5am? . Vid 1: 2/4x3 @ 225 lbs. Eff yas, Queen. Vid 2: 1/2x1 @ 280 lbs. Meh. Vid 3: 1/2x1 @ 250 lbs. Ehhhhh. . I still have like, 16 hours of risky business to get through but damn I had a phenomenal morning. I also used my charm (ha) and got the doors open in the 90°+ gym to let the 55° beautiful and blessed high winds.
