A Cache of Roman Coins Unearthed in Poland

Metal detectorists in Poland helped discover a large cache of ancient Roman coins, Polish officials announced.

The "Group of Explorers" regularly search for metal artifacts and treasures, according to a social media post Friday from the Lublin Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments. The group, led by Janusz Szabat and Piotr Magoch, began a search of the fields surrounding the small town of Księżopol.

In a very small area - less than a fifth of a square mile - the searchers found "a very large number of metal archaeological monuments," the conservator said.

The rarest items found by the searchers were a small cache of ancient Roman denars, or silver coins. There were three silver denars imprinted with the face of Roman emperor Antonius Pius, minted sometime between 138 and 161, as well as a silver denar imprinted with the face of his wife, Faustyna the Younger, minted in 141. A fourth coin with the face of Antonius Pius was found, but this one was minted between 146 and 152, and a part had been intentionally cut away, likely during a trade exchange, according to the conservator. There was also a silver denar with the face of Marcus Aurelius, minted in 174.

There were also some counterfeit denars, made by the Germanic Visigoths. One coin could not be read, but another was again of Antonius Pius. This counterfeit coin is "poorly readable," the conservator noted, but has an image of the emperor and a copy of the inscription on the real coins.

The last coin in the cache was a larger denar, twice the size of the typical coin of this make. That size makes it "fairly rare," the conservator noted. The coin was imprinted with the face of empress Herennia Cupressenia Etruscilla, and was minted between 249 and 251. A quarter of the coin was cut off, again likely during a trade transaction, according to the conservator.

Also found at the site of the excavations were "several small silicon tools" and "dozens of pieces of pottery," according to the conservator. The age of the tools could not be confirmed, but the pottery fragments are "dominated" by pieces from the Roman period, according to the conservator. One fragment dates as far back as the Early Middle Ages, while other pieces are more recent.

A number of bronze fibulae like these ones, used to attach garments, were found which date back to the late Roman period.

The amount of items found in such a small area led officials to believe that they are "dealing with a new, previously unknown archaeological position" that is of "very valuable scientific and conservation points."

Excavation tests will be performed in the area, the conservator said, and more searches of the fields will be carried out.

All of the Ink People shown in the image above are Searchers - as you can see, the ink bodies are as diverse (and beautiful) as the flesh ones. This picture could actually be used to promote the slogan that "all bodies are beautiful." Who did it? Any body cream or gel for women? this represents a stage in which mankind was intent on "conquering" nature, disrupting its balance with the aim of "owning" a piece of it, without caring about what their involvement would mean for the space or the species

searcher clade is a farmer whose aim is to "settle", he finds a resource that can help his community and takes it, creating a successful energy source but without caring to study it or learn where it comes from, and although he has a loving family, his fear of losing it makes him force things to stay as they are forever, which will require him to change his perspective to keep

this represents a stage in which mankind, although more understanding of nature and its processes, uses resources without caring about the consequences of said use, how renewable or not renewable they might be or how their abuse can impact the environment as a whole

ethan clade grows up playing a tabletop game in which the aim is to live peacefully with the environment, he wants to learn about things rather than "discover" them, heal those who are harmed and help things alongside their journey into what they're supposed to do, he has a crush on a boy that returns his feelings and, instead of settling in one place, they travel through those places that need their help

this represents a stage in which mankind is trying to coexist with nature and, at least part of it, is starting to understand that everything has a space and function in the environment as a living thing, understanding how things work can allow us to respect nature and live together in a less destructive harmony

havent finished the vid yet but i think there are more points to be made about parasocialism – she mentions that it was easy for fans to interact with creators/cast because of the simultaneous rise of social media/conventions/the cultural shift where shipping wasn’t taboo, but i think there’s definitely something to be said about how the creators were a large part of encouraging that. they were using fan inserts back in season 4. they Knew what was going on in fan spaces to the point where they referenced names of real bnfs, and they made the decision to goad and wink and play it up instead of adhering to the norm of looking the other way. like. there is a parasocialism there to be sure, but no one MADE them say the words wincest and destiel and sastiel on the show. creators/writers played a fairly significant part in crafting the fan environment that was crafted. imo

I love this question!! so, yes! but it's particular to each animatronic. Something first and foremost to note from the fic is that each bot needs at least some surface time to charge their power! Solar power is a big way how they stay going on week-long excursions out in the middle of the ocean. Bad, consistent cloudy weather left them low charge and stranded on the island with our dear selkie! Sun is primarily a surface searcher. He's built to stay on top, navigate situations with semi-aquatic marine life (and humans, lol). He CAN go down pretty deep but nothing dark water. 600ft is usually Sunny's tap out point, right before "The Twilight Zone". Moon however was built for the deep. In what he's lacking in human social skills, he was built to navigate deep water sea life and the larger animals that live in it due to varying oxygen amounts in the water, especially near the polar caps. Moon can stay in dark water for longer, go farther, and has those handy infrared eyes that help him see! Moon hasn't reached his tap out point yet, but he's explored depths up to 2000 feet. Each also has a preferred swimming mode to swim these depths! While both bots can switch between flippers and fins, they each have a favorite (see below)

So I realized I never actually posted my Art Fight refs to social media after completing them in June, and I thought to myself, well Bella seems appropriate to post in October. And then I remembered, wait, Bella's birthday is in October, oh my gosh when was it again? So I checked my logs, and wouldn't you know it, it's today! 6 years ago on October 20th, I started roleplaying with my friends Margin and Cyber on Margin's askblog, @samsamthebandman . Bella was an accidental creation as a character to play, but she's remained important to me for all these years. Forever grateful to both of you for going on so many adventures with me, I still cherish them. 💜

Sacrificed by an unwilling prophet, Bella found herself lost and confused within the cycle, but with Bendy pleading for help, not even becoming a Searcher would deter her from following through. Together with Sammy and Jack, they make up the three shepherds of the demon and set out on an adventure to try and bring some humanity back to the cycle, and hopefully, set its citizens free. Now armed with the ability to Dive into the Depths of the ink, Bella searches for lost souls to remind them of who they truly are beneath it all, and hopefully, bring them some peace.

Bella has gone through many iterations and changes over the years, but at her core, she's stayed the same. The girl's got a kind heart but hides her frustrations behind a mask of politeness. But once she snaps, she's a spitfire that's not going down without a fight, still kind and heartfelt, but she's not taking anyone's crap anymore. (Girl we gotta introduce you to Constance, my gosh.) There are at least two ongoing fics that feature her as a main character, Searching the Depths and its sister story, Richard the Keeper. I'm especially loving her dynamic with Richard, it's fun to see her having grown into a seasoned member of the studio, and their bickering is so fun to write.

Thanks for indulging me over the past 6 years. It's been so much fun to play with her, and I hope we have many more adventures for years to come!

i've tried searching for this many times, but i've been really struggling to filter out my searchers and filter through them to find something. i essentially want to find a sensory friendly place that encourages basically parallel play. like i can be doing one thing and my friends can be doing something else but it like makes sense to do so or it's essentially encouraged? and like we can just vibe with each other and others. however, i still want it to be an adult/young adult space because i want to be surrounded by people my age for the possible potential of socializing.
