what you’ve got to understand about working conditions in education (and also other care-oriented careers) is that if they’re shit, two things are true at once:
that does not ever excuse being cruel to a kid, no matter what
until those conditions are fixed, education will continue to suck absolute shit
this is because when working conditions for teachers are really bad, many of the good teachers who recognize when they are reaching a point where they can no longer be the sort of teacher the kids deserve due to burnout WILL quit. they will do the responsible thing and go away for their own sake and the sake of the kids. and you end up stuck w a combination of new teachers who are trying their best but won’t last long, burnt out teachers who are trying their best but have nothing left to give and therefore aren’t very effective at actually teaching, and cockroach shitheads who take out their misery on the kids.
we have all had terrible experiences with bad teachers, many of them flat out traumatic, but for fuck’s sake please try to look at the systemic underpinnings of the problem for one minute. spitefully declaring that teachers don’t deserve good working conditions or even the right to complain about bad working conditions because ms. whoever in 5th grade was a bitch is only going to create more of her. if you want good teachers then we need an education system they can survive in

hi! i see in your bio you don’t want your content reposted on external sites, but how do you feel about reposting your gifs on tumblr? with credit ofc!
hello!!! it is very kind of you to ask in the first place 🖤 i don't mind if my gifs From Gifsets are used in posts that like... build on them in a collaborative way, like meta/analysis posts. but i'd rather they not be reposted [even with credit, whether a link or via the gif search thing] in stuff like faceclaim/gifhunt posts, fic posts, rp threads, moodboards, stuff like that. when i make gifsets it's usually with some overarching concept in mind—so the gifset itself is kind of the Creation, you know? and using component parts of a Creation to make something ELSE decontextualizes it from the whole thing, which i'd rather not happen to my stuff 😔
this being the internet, anyone can of course Do Whatever You Want Forever, but that's my personal take on it. i might not get to everything [life is a ♫ niiightmare ♫] but i'm also very open to requests for stuff, whether it's individual gifs or full sets or headers or whatever!

Finally got my hands on vol. 1 of the skybound tf comics and WOW!!!! DWJ, Mike Spicer, and Rus Wooton absolutely knocking it OUT OF THE PARK with this one!!!!
The bombastic lettering… the vibrant colours…. The loose and stylized line art… the gentle and grounded writing… I love it. I was optimistic after reading Do a Powerbomb! and I was right to be so! What a fantastic team of storytellers.

"[NFCV] is the greatest adaptation of all time because games bad. huh" Yeah, sure feels like Everyone Knows Games Have No Story And Video Games Adaptions Are Bad, so let's completely drop any standards we have for adaptions or even just original stories.
All the while treat fans of the games as whiners who can't appreciate Art and should just be happy it got an adaption at all. Or they are fans who Knows Games Sucks, and other fans need to admit the same.
That explanation is the only reason I can understand why even Pro Critic™ who must have seen decent made media in their work, go on about a show which fail so much basic writing and treat it as a masterpiece. I can't imagine NFCV had been an original IP it would have gotten nearly as much praise it got.
Honestly not. Every single praise I've seen about NFCV hinges on the premise that the original games "didn't have much of a story" (of if they did, like CoD, it was bad). I see it in the way criticism like "it could have been more faithful to the source material" gets sneered on like "oh so you wanted Trevor to jump on platforms? You wanted a pixel style?". Like, the idea that maybe the series had lore is completely alien to these fans.
That's why I keep insisting on the genuine writing flaws of the show. Even as its own thing, it has tremendous pacing issues, characterization inconsistencies, blatant narrative favoritism, idiot plots, childish dialogue hidden under a veneer of pretentiousness, shallow themes, and disgusting implications. There's only so many times you can bleat to me that N!Isaac has the best character arc of all time (all while gleefully shitting on game Isaac ofc) before I feel like you deadass watched a different show than I did.
