Hi 👋 I know it's kind of intrusive- what is your job exactly and and and, probably since you must have given a lot of interviews in the past you even posted you just gave an interview- i mean how do you prepare for an interview? Not a corporate job something like teaching? If you are okay with it you know I am just asking out of curiosity and like could use some advice

Hey! I'm not gonna share my exact job, or this new one for obvious reasons but vaguely I work with folks experiencing domestic & sexual violence. My primary responsibility is program management and oversight, but I do some direct service as well since I'm licensed. This new job would be 0 direct service, all program management at a directors level so I desperately want it.

My interview tips for any helping profession (or just generally) are as follows:

Look up the place you want to work at. Just knowing a bit of basic background/history is going to make you stand out because inevitably they'll ask what you know about the place you're looking to work at/the job itself. I have interviewed a lot of people/hired quite a few folks and I can tell you that most people don't do this, and when they do, it reads to me like passion.

A job interview is the place to brag. This is hard for me, too, but don't downplay your accomplishments.

When you're asked questions, tie it to a personal experience navigating whatever they're asking you. So for example, "how would you handle a situation in which-" respond with an example of how you've handled that situation, or a similar one. It ties your experience directly to the position

Don't be afraid to ask questions. If I don't know what to ask, I'll use these as my go-to's: How would I know if I was doing a good job? What does a typical day in this role look like? Can you give me an example of a time you've had to deliver bad news? and What is your supervising style like?

I treat an interview like a back and forth- they are interviewing me, but I am also interviewing them. I want it to be a mutually good fit. If someone has a bad management style and I'm getting that vibe from the interview, I probably don't want to accept a position with them

Follow up with a 'thank you' email. Personally, I don't care if candidates do this when I'm interviewing them, but it is nice because it leaves the door open for me versus just like, static if that makes sense? Like I know post interview you still want the job.

If pay wasn't listed on the description, ask in the interview! You deserve to know this before you're made an offer. If they can't tell you, I think that's a red flag. This interview, I knew the range going in and if they make an offer, I'll negotiate which is a whole different post.

Finally, try and relax! I know its hard, especially when you need a job/want it, but if you're nervous, you're likely to forget things or seem unprepared. Be confident and remind yourself that a lot of people apply for positions and even interviewing is narrowing it down. Someone saw you just on paper and thought, "I'd like to know more about this person!" and let that give you confidence!

illario as the grandchild that is most like caterina is something i'm loving to chew on. the grandson that took her lessons to heart the most. kill anyone who sees your face and knows your name, "we are not revolutionaries", the first out of the two to prioritise the contract. power at any cost, and the only one to lean into the unnecessary abuse that their grandmother told them was tradition. why is anyone surprised he allied with the venatori? and then there's illario's considerable skill in infiltration and manipulating any mark, he has always had the charisma that lucanis lacked. illario isn't attached, he has/can/will use someone and immediately drop them; "that does free me from promises i don't intend to keep". he can lie about how much he cares so well that he fools a magister into believing he loves her. he kills zara without hesitation to cover his own tracks, meanwhile lucanis blindly promises a young girl in the middle of a siege that he will help her find her father. even the lessons about family stick with him, and in this entire messy power struggle, he never actually orders anyone to directly kill caterina or lucanis, not until he's backed into a corner.

and even after all that. despite even lucanis believing illario should be first talon, lucanis is still the better killer. illario is not strong enough to be the brutal assassin caterina needs him to be. so when lucanis seems to fill the role his mother left, grief and love for her dead heir apparent remains, and any of the other qualities caterina needs in her next talon doesn't matter. whatever his mother was, lucanis has to be. what illario does doesn't matter, because he will always be second best to caterina's memory of her favored daughter.

I have a maybe silly question, but uh. How do I become a more interesting person? I have a horrible habit of staying home and not going out and doing things. How do I not do that? This feels very goofy as a thing to ask, but you appear to have an interesting life, therefore making you a reliable source. Do with this what you will, and please say hi to your creatures! It may seem backwards, but...don't try to be interesting, try to be interested.

Find things you find engaging, and then find ways to pursue them. It's best if you can find some kind of group or community that also does the thing you want to try--if you're struggling to find things you like, then just start trying things local to you. You've probably got a local birdwatching group, or a sewing circle, or a community theater, or a historical society, or a comic shop that does game nights, or a group of regulars volunteering at an animal shelter, or stained glass classes, or a makerspace, or any number of little communities that are out there. Try them! The first meeting will be the worst. And if you hate it, you don't have to keep at it, and trying will give you a fun story. Sooner or later you will land on something you like and then...keep turning up.

And if you're not finding things local and in person, then just take up whatever strikes your fancy at home. If you could be incredible at any three hobbies, what would they be? What's stopping you from starting those hobbies? You're going to fail at them when you start but you're already failing at them now by not starting, so what do you have to lose?

Here's the thing: nobody wants to talk with someone who's just singing their own victories. The best stories are the ones where we tried something new and different and silly and strange and maybe messed it up, but had fun. And the best stories are shared--ask other people about the things they're into, be interested and engaged and maybe see if they're open to teaching you a little, if their interests seem fun to you. It's not about being interesting, it's about sharing passion.

So find the things you're passionate about, and keep at them even after you've failed, and the rest will follow.

kicks down everyone's door folks I might have figured out how tall Sun Wukong/Destined One is in Black Myth Wukong.

Starting with a disclaimer that this is just my speculation and nothing is confirmed unless the dev state otherwise

So y'know how the collector's edition came with this amazing Wukong figurine:

The description states that the figure is 40cm tall (according to playasia)

The figure is made by Queen Studio, specifically the INART team that makes 1:6 figures.

So we know that the figure is 40cm tall. It is not clear if that includes stand or not, and I was not able to find any information how tall the stand is

On another website (which I don't want to name because I don't know how serious the website is) lists up the figure as 315mm/31.5cm

If that is the height of the actual figure without stand, and it's a 1:6 figure, that means 31.5cm * 6 = 189 cm

So that means it is very possible Destined One/Sun Wukong is 189 cm / 6 feet 2 inch tall.

that is TALL. a lot taller than I thought he would be tbh LOL cause in the books he is usually described as the shortest (cause well, monkey)

which ALSO means.

Wukong better be paying for her chiropractor with the amount of crancking her neck up she has to do.

The Nobleman or 양반 (yangban): The smiling face represents the bluff and composure that an aristocrat is often known to have. The chin is a separate piece from the top of the mask, and the actors can lean forward and back to make the mask smile or frown as needed.

This monk who abandons his doctrines, or 취발이 (chwibari): Chwibari was originally a monk, but he had no intention of joining the monastic order, so he came down to the world and wanders. Represented with a forehead full of wrinkles and spots.

The widow or, 부네 (Punae/bune): represented to be a widow, or a kisaeng ( a woman who sang, danced, or played an instrument to provide entertainment for company at a drinking party), or a mistress of the Yangban. She has a very small mouth, round cheeks and forehead- giving a general look of happiness good-humor.

Touch starved/Clingy Danny :((( Danny doesn't really see Jack & Maddie a lot growing up, even though they would sometimes coddle over him, it just... didn't satiate his hunger for more physical affection. Jazz helped a lot, of course. But there's only so much time between their schedules and personal lives.

Cue: the Waynes.

At first it was just Bruce; where he sat down beside him in the large couch on one of many movie nights the Waynes would attend (this was his first!) And frankly, he did not know what happened. One moment he was leaning towards the older man's broad shoulders, Bruce's hand gently scratching and petting his scalp. The next moment he's already laying with his head on the man's lap, half asleep.

He vaguely remembers the hushed whispers and cooing latch on to his hearing, yet done nothing. Continue: his siblings; one by one would unconsciously give him some physical affection— ranging from Dick's cuddling to Damian's hand holding as a reassurance.

It's...nice.

thinking about this post on how Ed’s impossible bird alludes to the albatross and now all I can think about is how these past 3 episodes feel like a play on the Rime of the Ancient Mariner…he’s crashing weddings to make sure everyone knows that he’s the mariner who shot the albatross, who cursed his luck and life; but what’s interesting is he also seems to be his own albatross. it’s his own weight hanging around his neck. and the act curses his crew—he kills the part of himself that guides sailors safely—and they are now forced to turn on him, their souls sucked away by his curse. and he’s ready to reconcile the guilt of it all via his own death, he wants to do so, but he just cannot seem to die:

“Alone, alone, all, all alone, / Alone on a wide wide sea! / And never a saint took pity on / My soul in agony.

The many men, so beautiful! / And they all dead did lie: / And a thousand thousand slimy things / Lived on; and so did I.”

but then finally, in the darkest night of the greatest carnage, he’s suddenly reminded that he’s not alone like he thought—there’s life in the sea, and it’s beautiful and fiery-warm. and it’s the moment he feels love again that the albatross finally frees itself from his neck and falls into the water. it’s the feeling of love that breaks the curse.

the "paul is richie's uncle" headcanon is really cute but i really love it in tandem with the idea that ted is surprisingly involved in his little brother's life while paul is more just vaguely fond of his nephew, but doesn't really know all that much about his friends or his day-to-day life

like, the idea of ted knowing all his geeky little brother's friends really well, like letting them chill in his apartment every now and then to watch movies or driving them home when they have their stupid library study sessions or whatever is already pretty fun, just the idea that the Local Bastard has accidentally and begrudgingly been saddled with these two loser highschoolers because they're his little brother's dweebus friends that he doesn't want to admit he has a soft spot for, but it's made doubly funny if paul just has no idea that his nephew's best friend is the little brother of the Worst Guy In His Office. ted comes over to paul's desk one day with a stack of dog-eared manga like "pete forgot to take these this morning, so you give 'em back to richie for me, okay? also, ruth's right, stein and spirit are definitely fucking and i want him to stop fighting with her about it when i pick 'em up from the library" and paul is just like. okay. i have several questions about this.

Not sure if this theory makes any sense at all but I'm starting to believe that there's no time skip between Wally's phone calls and what we see/hear in the show's Media/Merchandise. If we see the Toyland call being made before the Homewarming episode then it would make sense that Wally's expecting Barnaby to come over soon. As well as the Homewarming sketch from the prior update. (I don't know, still kind of brainstorming this perspective)

that theory Does make sense and i've been considering it! the "timeline" is such a nebulous thing right now because we still... don't really know! there are too many variables and too many Maybes for any solid answer.

maybe the reality that the neighbors live in exists outside of time like you say, and like half of me suspects. there's so much reality fuckery already present, but I'm also... unsure of how much merit this holds given what we know / can infer about how time passes in Home. i'm putting this theory on a low shelf to look at but not prioritize

maybe it really has been 50 years, and Barnaby is either still around / Wally is still in contact with him, or Barnaby... isn't there. who knows, maybe Wally was just verbalizing some Wishful Thinking. i mean, Wally is a bit of an unreliable narrator, isn't he? we can't assume that everything he says is entirely accurate or truthful. and i mean, if it's been 50 years it makes sense that Wally would be pushing for connection / to revive WH. who knows how long he's been trying.

hm... i mean. it could be a mix of that and the Outside Of Time theory. who knows, maybe W is receiving calls from different points in the timeline - Wally may have started out just calling, and has just graduated to invading the WH website / getting pushy with the envelopes and media that's been sent to the WHRP. maybe Wally got tired of waiting for W to respond before W was even born. who's to say!
