anyway, a series of things I did not notice about the little spinny thing pav does while rescuing civilians from freefall, yknow the one:

he's not holding them all with one hand, he made a second loop of webs to catch his diabolo again in his other hand so it would be more secure

I can't get a good picture of it but it's the same way he caught the diabolo in his introduction after he hit the spot with it and I like that repetition

the reason he does the mid-air spin is to catch the other 'end' of the loop with his foot and wind it around his waist, to free up his hand to grab miles' arm when miles comes swooping down to catch him

(the web is staying wound around his waist because he caught it with his leg and folded his leg up so it wouldn't slip off)

also presumably it worked to slow their fall and heft the civilians a little higher, so they'll land on that roof instead of crashing into the side of the building

there's also a tiny animation error here since pavitr is still wearing his bracers/bangles on both wrists even though he's using his diabolo to do his yoyo tricks!

I actually double-checked another scene because I wouldn't put it past the costume design to have the suit coloured gold and red under the bracer but nah, in this bit his wrist is pretty clearly bare after he flicks it off:

in conclusion: this scene fucks even harder now that it makes sense to me, 10/10

—on the topic of psychotic Summers brothers, I only just caught up with six months of X-Men after stopping for six months the topic of Gabriel referring to the tags of my last X-Men post a month ago — but I was happy to see Scott's torture-induced psychosis didn't (definitively) turn out just to be that he'd calculated what others hadn't. Yes, the woman he'd accurately calculated would save him was Dr. Gregor, not Jean, but that doesn't change that he remained unsure if Jean was real (and thought she was alive) while the all-seeing Enigma knew on the contrary that Scott was delusional because Phoenix thus equally (an equivocation which casts further doubt of Scott's fiery visions ever being genuine, as Jean's dying mind had departed Scott well before Mother Righteous sacrificed Jean's dead fragmented self for Dominion, before Scott was tortured) Jean — were so utterly dead that Rachel and Hope had to cancel out death to reverse it. Yet Scott, hyper-vigilant traumatized autistic brain-damaged neurodivergent soldier that he is, seemingly accomplished all these strategic calculations while having a psychotic “break,” which is extremely in character for him—

I think, considering the posts I’m seeing, people are getting confused on what a canon event is because the way Miguel defines it to Miles vs how he talks about his own “canon breaking” just don’t align neatly with one another, and are probably foreshadowing a loophole Miles will expose if the writing doesn’t go the route of entirely tossing out canon events.

They are, as Miguel explains them to be, specific story beats that will just happen naturally to every Spidey. They can be interfered with yes, but to catastrophic consequence to his mind. Simply existing in another dimension like the spider society or nicking gizmos like Hobie isn’t canon breaking, because it isn’t touching any story beats.

This feels confusing because the way Miguel talks about his adopted universe disintegrating makes it sound like he thinks his very continued presence did damage to it. Unless his counterpart’s death was specifically supposed to be a canon event for Gabriella, I can’t see how it fits into the previous model.

But that’s not the way the story is presented, and I think Miguel’s emotional vulnerability about that trauma, combined with the dissonance between both “definitions” is supposed to draw our attention to the idea that while this character is operating out of a sincere desire to prevent this every happening again, his understanding of what caused this disintegration is flawed and not immutable.

Every day I wake up and want to cry because there is something so comforting yet so unbelievably terrifying about a prequel series that includes characters we have seen in the future because we know that those characters will certainly survive, or at least survive the events we are witnessing in this context, but everybody else has their fate completely up in the air. Will they live? Will they die? Is their absence in the future timeline and inherent confirmation of their death, or will they be fine and is there a perfectly reasonable explanation for why they do not appear with the characters who we know will survive? And that constant hope, that persisting anxiety about their fate holds for their entire time onscreen because we know, we know that their future is not set in stone. So we're fighting against our better nature as the audience to convince ourselves that somehow the characters will survive even when it feels like we should already be grieving their loss. Anyways I'm doing fine mentally and have consumed a perfectly healthy amount of media why are you asking

oh one thing i wanted to ask you, if the superior thing happened in ps4 world, how would you go about it? Because Otto is made to be more . endearing (? i’m not really sure since i only cared about Miles) in this game esp because of his close relationship shown with Peter, do you think he would immediately try to do good or would he still have that “haha i can do what i want now” followed by an internal battle to better himself even though he did have to kill Peter for the body?? or would you completely go a different route and make it so neither Otto or Peter die in this seeing as they’re much closer here?? and would the company Otto made as “Peter” even exist in your version?? i know you really love the ps4/5 versions of these two so i was just curious ^_^

OOOOOO that's a pretty interesting idea :0 I've actually never thought abt that since I loove the 1048 canon story and usually need ps4 peter to do my silly found family ideas with my own superior (who travels to 1048 to visit with those dimension hoppers in the spiderverse comic)

My take on a superior arc within earth 1048 is that it probably wouldn't take as long for otto to stop being evil !! I always saw ps4 otto as being malicious only cuz of the errors in the neural interface + his desperation :3 if it was removed I think he could eventually come back to his senses and somewhat return to being a sweetheart like he originally was ^_^ so if he swapped bodies with peter then since he no longer has the neural interface affecting his mind and he isn't desperate to escape his failing body anymore he would calm down pretty quickly from his evilguy mode and be like oh god what have I done 💥

Plus doc wasn't like actively dying in ps4! So if he did swap bodies with peter it would not be a very good plan since there's no guarantee peter won't be able to fight back </3 so unless we change that aspect of the story he probably wouldn't have attempted to do that in the first place </33

BUTTT IF HE DID ^_^ and if peter does die and otto relives all his memories then it would just be a huge horror for that man.. he would like instantly snap out of that evilguy mindset and be mortified by what he did </3 its gonna be so much worse for ps4 otto cuz he's cared for peter for so long and saw him a son vs the default otto who. Let's be honest he likely didn't care much beforehand </3 I mean even when ps4 otto was going evilmode he still left a message to Peter saying he hopes they don't find each other on opposite sides </3 BWAHHH

So! My thoughts r that it is kindaa hard to see it happen BUT if it did it would be SUPER sad </3 so much angst potential </3 for relationships i dunno honestly! hi! not original anon about Mike BUT I do love him. I’ve spoken to Mike a few times for a while and he seems to be a really good dude. I’m not inclined to share exactly what Mike said, but it sounds like he came into Brendon’s life when Brendon really needed it, and helped Brendon sort of see things differently, and he’s happy now. And for various reasons, I don’t think Mike has taken advantage of Brendon at all.

Well then that’s phenomenal! I’m glad! This could also be Mike Viola ghostwriting but I’ll choose to believe it isn’t 😂 look, I really don’t mean any harm whatsoever to Mike, nor do I care that much (only because it’s none of my business). My other answer to why I dislike him was going to be “he doesn’t even play the viola,” but I only gave a more serious answer to assuage anyone’s fears that my distaste was rooted in anything worse than personal preference. He certainly doesn’t kick puppies or hate homeless people or anything to my knowledge. At the end of the day, it’s not something that affects me, and I do support anything that’s ultimately beneficial for everyone involved.
