What are you currently reading?

Sooooo a bit out of pocket for me but just finished Vampire Mall Cop Book 1: Damien vs the Entrails Eater by Molly Blake because my friend wrote it and she did a really awesome job (I think so anyway). It's on Amazon actually! A bit middle grade fic for my taste but it was charming and I accidentally read it in like two sittings so now I get to tell her how much I loved it (I got the Kindle book version before I found out she was selling signed print copies on campus sigh- jokingly might have her "autograph" my ebook version by commenting on it or something).

So kinda looking for next read and I think I'm going to finish siege and storm cuz that's a library ebook and then I'm going to read death note (trying to space out reads I know I'll like bc I left the final book at home and I don't need a two month long book hangover. I also going through slowly The Hobbit on audiobook so I actually get used it currently (idk how to implement them as well bc can't read and do schoolwork and if I'm taking a break may as well have physical book

when we were out on our walk Rio decided to roll around in some grass. and while he was rolling it like. pulled the tab on the hook that connects the leash to his harness? and it came unlatched. and he just booked it full speed down the sidewalk without me (turns out he is faster than me genuinely trying to sprint btw)

Ooh I definitely want to write something featuring Macau more prominently at some point! He's an iconic lil guy! With so much potential for shenanigans! And I LOVE to write about shenanigans!!!

OKAY. SO. Anyone who has read blorbo from my DMs may or may not have noticed the following throwaway line in there:

"[Chay had] discovered that all of the bodyguards were contractually obligated to participate in an in-house beauty pageant once a year - well, in fairness, he’d never actually heard anyone calling it a beauty pageant, they had some other boring official name for it. But Chay was in possession of two working eyes and a brain, thank you very much, and if there was a more apt description for any event featuring that many glistening chests and glittering outfits centre-stage, he’d yet to hear of it."

...I may or may not have an outline for a possible full fic based on this concept living in the back of my mind. Who can say!

Can’t get over the fact that when I search for a fanfic to read, it always focuses on the main pairing and of course it’s more romance than anything (either one-shots or really long slow burns, no in between)

Yet my fav fic (that I literally just found last year) to which I just go back and read every 2 weeks, doesn’t have romance as the main focus at all and mainly focuses on the weird ass platonic relationship of the 3 main characters is so weird to me. Yes, it has 3 ships tagged and they have stuff for them sprinkled in the fic, but all in all it’s just mainly platonic and I just can’t get over it

Some platonic ships just hit harder than romantic ones wtf

I am still insane over that fic I love it so much ugh I need to rant about it
