Care to tell some facts about the ROs?
Dawn
She owns a car that she unironically calls Babygirl and that she loves more than anything.
She's also a bit of a reckless driver.
Dawn can't cook.
She's in her mid-twenties and was practically raised by her sibling Vex.
Most of their modifications prior to becoming a law enforcer/cop were taken care of by Dawn.
Her distaste for divinity is a bit spoilery but it isn't exactly new.
Dawn is a bit of a scaredly cat but she's also really good at forcing herself to do things that terrify her kfkskf
A few examples of this include street racing, waking MC up, being a hacker...
Bruno
Bonus: he's a huge Eris fan lol
Amara/Aiden/Asher
A and Dawn are friends and coworkers!
They work at the Speakeasy which is basically a bar where you don't order alcohol (you also order alcohol but ykyk) but VR.
A basically runs the place, though.
A's relationship with VR is really weird lol they use it from time to time and enjoy drawing whatever they see.
They're really good at drawing! It's not a major passion of theirs but it's something they enjoy and it relaxes them.
A loves cutesy things and tends to paint over the very cold and 'boring' designs of technology devices.
Dawn just calls it vandalism.
Vex
Vex and Dawn were never the richest people.
Their parents weren't really in the picture either so it's always been up to V to take care of their sibling.
Vex embodies the spirit of a mother and a father at the same time lol.
But they really give me tired dad™ energy tbh.
Vex loves taking care of their body (they don't enjoy making Dawn take care of herself that much tho).
Because of their many many body modifications, V is considered a cyborg.
Some of these modifications were a necessity. Others were V's choice^^
Eris
Eris became famous through her music when she was 16-17.
It's been a little more than ten years ever since.
And she's still a major example of a contemporary musician everyone knows and loves.
Eris also acts and models. She's beyond busy all the time.
Most don't recognize her when she's wearing one of her wigs tho lol
She's also a bit addicted to VR.
Seth
He really likes it when people touch/braid his hair🏃‍♀️💕
Seth isn't really bothered by change if you know what I mean?
He's readily embraced the future as a means of self-preservation.
But the Seth you'll meet in the past loved loved loved his sword.
(The one he kills MC with gkskgkd).
Seth is really good at math^^

Bitch bffr you're such a hypocrite. Why are you so obsessed with making Keiji a villain you're literally a Midori apologist. "Grown man burdens teenage girl with the lives of several strangers including himself even after the traumatic death of her best friend" Where??? Just say you hate him there's no need to make shit up.
1) First of all do fandoms actually still use the term apologist when referring to fictional characters or have you just woken up after falling into a coma in 2020 I haven’t seen that in a long time but I might be out of touch. Second of all you are either making things up to get mad about or grossly misinterpreting one of my posts because when have I ever unsarcastically defended Midori for any of the actual bad things he's done. I do think he’s mischaracterized but not in the sense that I think he did nothing wrong I've never said that. Midori is a frustrating character to discuss in this fandom because of people who dismiss or belittle any interpretation in which he is not a one-dimensional abuser. I think the fact that a lot of yttd fans think it would be a better writing decision for Midori to be a total freak outlier in the cult that grooms children into violence rather than a nuanced character just like everyone else is weird and speaks to a tendency to pick and choose which characters deserve complexity based on how likable they are. He’s a bad person but like he obviously wasn’t born with his own ideology I don't think it's a stretch to assume Asunaro had something to do with the way he turned out
2) I literally am not obsessed with that. Majority of my posts on here are stupid sprite memes or unsolicited Midori thoughts so I’m not sure where you got that from. I made a single post about Keiji and Sara’s dynamic back in December in which I never once called him a villain all I said was I find it odd that people ignore the fact he’s a grown man placing burdens on a grieving teenage girl for the sake of interpreting their relationship as father-daughterly. It doesn’t even matter if he didn’t intend any harm or if his care for her eventually becomes genuine if you can’t even acknowledge there was harm done in the first place. (Also what do you mean “where” ? I gave 2 examples in that post which I’m assuming you must have read since you quoted it.) What makes Keiji an uncompelling character to me is that he gets away with a lot of things other characters are condemned for, both within the story and in the fandom, and even when his actions are condemned by the narrative the fandom still finds a way to excuse them. For example Keiji killing Megumi is portrayed as a bad thing in the game you’re not supposed to see it and be like “yeah she was such a bitch Keiji did nothing wrong” yet a worrying amount of yttd fans seem to unironically believe this. It’s not that I believe Keiji is an irredeemable monster or that Midori is a better person than him but there are clearly some biases in the way they’re portrayed in fanon. They’re both watered down just in opposite ways. I do dislike Keiji his vibe is horrendous and he’s blonde but those are my own personal feelings I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong for liking him

tbh, it never ceases to astound me that there are actual people who are fans, legitimate fans, of Ascended Astarion.
like i'm not even saying this as a funny thing, i'm not even gonna put it any tags or whatever, and it's not like i want to make fun of someone for a preference in a fictional character, that's not what this is about, it's just that.... posts here, and the comment sections on videos of his voicelines, always have at least one person trying to justify his behavior as actually good, or talking about how hot some line or another is, and how much they like this outcome (not because it's fucked up but because it's "passionate" or "sexy" or whatever- this btw is much more prevalent on youtube), and I just... can't grasp how that's a possible thing for people to think unironically. how someone can play through 100+ hours of game, interact with Astarion multiple times, take him through his whole damn personal journey, and still not feel like post-ascension he's just a... a horrible stranger wearing a friend's face.
If you see the fucked up part and go "yeah i'm into that because it's fucked up"? I'm fully in support of you. Absolutely 100% in your corner. Write/imagine/fantasize about nasty fucked up manipulation and shit all you want; I've been known to indulge in worst case scenarios myself. Engaging with unhealthy dynamics with the knowledge that it's unhealthy and exploring that can be good for the soul. But way too many seem to be arguing that "he still loves (the PC)", and that it's possible for that guy and the PC to have a decent, loving relationship on equal footing, while they need to actively dodge all the options even in-game that exist to call him out for being a piece of shit.
because he's. god, ascended he's such a creep. he sets off all the alarm bells in my head, worse than any guy I've ever decided not to let buy me a drink. an obvious manipulator, nakedly abusive, dismissive, clearly a megalomaniac that's going as far as saying the quiet part out loud in the multiple times he can say that he wants to turn the PC into a spawn so they can't leave or defy him, and it's right there on the surface in every single interaction that being with him is not a good idea. The other companions fucking hate his guts and feel sorry for the PC, and even a PC that's head over heels, fully on board with all the bullshit, and is into the whole "gilded cage enslavement" aspect, can complain (and it's implied that they have complained, multiple times) in the epilogue about not having their freedom.
Six months after becoming his spawn, they're still not a full vampire, and we know from that conversation with Aurelia and Leon that one of Cazador's little tactics had been promising his spawn freedom he never intended to give, in order to keep them obedient.
sure, he has some lines that, in a vacuum, are hot. but I'm pretty sure that's all simply Neil Newbon (despite being a very skilled actor who's fully deserving of all the acclaim he's been receiving), being physically unable to inject enough gross sewer-slime into his voice, and not any merit to this weird creep of a character.
this whole thing, I'm gonna be honest, is just... so fucking worrying to me. it like actually worries me how many people can't see something written with the explicit intent to be unsettling, and a guy written openly to be awful and shitty and gross, as such. And it's not like we can fully chalk it up to how emotion in the moment can cloud your judgement, or how manipulators can and do adjust their personalities in accordance to how best to make you stay, he's literally ones and zeroes, and a limited number of lines you can listen to over and over again and dissect if you want.
I'm not even remotely joking, is this how people end up in relationships with genuinely awful people????? because god, it sounds so terrifying that there are actual people who can look at a fictional guy draped in a red flag the size of a tectonic plate, and still only notice that the color brings out his eyes.
(and to reiterate, if the awful is the selling point, I'm fully in support of that. but god, the "I can fix him"/"I know he still loves me" sentiment is just... it makes the back of my neck itch.)

MY BFS POST FINALLY GAVE ME THE MOTIVATION TO WRITE UP SOMETHING ABOUT MODERN INTERNET SEXYMEN BECAUSE IT’S HONESTLY A REALLY WEIRD PHENOMENON THAT NOT ONLY PISSES ME OFF AT TIMES, BUT JUST KINDA INTERESTS ME IN GENERAL. IN A WEIRD WAY.
THERE’S A CERTAIN GENRE OF MALE CHARACTERS THAT, WHENEVER THEY GATHER ANY SORT OF ATTENTION IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, SEEM TO ALWAYS EVENTUALLY GO THROUGH THE FOLLOWING:
1. BLOW THE FUCK UP ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND HAVE LEAGUES OF PEOPLE THIRSTING FOR THEM
2. THIRSTING BECOMES SO COMMON THAT IT OVER-SATURATES EVERY BIT AND PIECE OF CONTENT FOR THAT CHARACTER, INCLUDING THE WAY THE FANDOM PERCEIVES THEM IN GENERAL
3. CHARACTER IS REDUCED TO NOTHING BUT A ‘HOT FLIRTY DOM DADDY’, DESPITE HOWEVER THEY MAY BE PORTRAYED IN CANON. MOST OF THE TIME, CHARACTER EXHIBITS SYMPTOMS OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND/OR DISABILITY, OR A DEEPER CHARACTER ARC IN GENERAL. I THINK THIS MANAGES TO SALT THE WOUND EVEN FURTHER
(IF THE MEDIA IS UNFINISHED) 4. CHARACTER EVENTUALLY HAS MORE CONTENT RELEASE, AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPENS:
A. IT ISN’T WHAT IS EXPECTED AT ALL. UNSURPRISINGLY, CHARACTER DOESN’T BEHAVE LIKE A SUPER SUAVE, CHARMING, HOT, TONGUE-WAGGLING FREAKAZOID WHO WANTS TO BED EVERYTHING IN SIGHT. INSTEAD, THEY BEHAVE IN A WAY THAT’S AN EXTENSION OF THEIR PERSONALITY IN PRIOR APPEARANCES.
B. NEW CONTENT OF CHARACTER IS MINOR OR EASILY MISINTERPRETED, AND THEY BLOW THE ABSOLUTE HECK UP ALL OVER AGAIN. CYCLE STARTS AT 1 AGAIN BUT ITS LIKE 3 TIMES WORSE
IT’S SOMETHING THAT I HAVE SEEN HAPPEN SO. MANY. TIMES. IN SO MANY COMMUNITIES AND FANDOMS. JUST OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD I CAN LIST JAX, CAINE, MILKMAN (TNMN), AND PERHAPS MOST NOTABLY: WALLY DARLING.
WALLY’S TREATMENT WAS AWFUL. I DIDN’T EVER CONSIDER MYSELF A FAN OF WELCOME HOME, BUT I SURE AS HELL WAS WITNESS TO THE ABSOLUTE ABOMINATION THE FANDOM SURROUNDING HIS CHARACTER BECAME. TO SEE A CHARACTER THAT WAS VERY CLEARLY INTENDED TO BE AUTISTIC, OR AT LEAST AUTISTIC CODED, HAVE ALL OF THOSE TRAITS COMPLETELY STRIPPED FROM HIM IN FAVOR OF TURNING HIM INTO SOMETHING “SEXIER” AND EVEN PUTTING DISGUSTING CRIMINAL LABELS ONTO HIM AT TIMES WAS JUST AWFUL !!! JESUS !!!
AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO CALL THIS. BECAUSE IT ISN’T TUMBLR SEXYMANNING, AT LEAST NOT TO ME. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT LARGELY HAPPENS ON SITES LIKE TIKTOK, WHICH I DON’T EVEN PERSONALLY USE ANYMORE. IT’S A REALLY ODDLY COMPLEX THING THAT SEEMS TO ONLY HAPPEN TO MASC CHARACTERS, PROBABLY BECAUSE FEM CHARACTERS ARE EITHER SEXUALIZED THOROUGHLY WITHOUT ANY CATCHES OR JUST OSTRACIZED ENTIRELY BY LARGER FANDOM. SOMETIMES BOTH. MISOGYNY IS GREAT (READ HEAVY SARCASM)
PART OF THE REASON WHY THIS THOUGHT BOUNCES AROUND IN MY HEAD SO OFTEN IS BECAUSE I CAN SEE THIS KIND OF THING BUDDING WITH MY FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER, DARLY BOXMAN. IT’S MOST DEFINITELY HAPPENING TO HIM, JUST MORE ‘QUIETLY’ BECAUSE PINK CITY HASN’T REALLY HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO BOOM. I’M UNIRONICALLY THANKFUL FOR THIS. AND, GODDD, IT MAKES ME ANGRY. SO MUCH SO.
AND, AT THE END OF THE DAY, MAYBE THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS. CHARACTERS ARE SUBJECTIVE. HOWEVER… IF YOUR INTERPRETATION OF A CHARACTER THAT CLEARLY EXHIBITS TRAITS OF MENTAL ILLNESS, A CHARACTER THAT HAS A VERY EXTENSIVE AND ALMOST RELATABLE STORY ARC, OR A CHARACTER THAT IS LITERALLY JUST SOME GUY… IS SOME SUPER HOT AND CHARMING GENERIC NORMATIVE HUNK… I THINK I AM ALSO FREE TO THINK YOUR INTERPRETATION OF THAT CHARACTER IS DUMB AND SHOULDN’T BE INCLUDED IN NUANCED CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE MEDIA!
BUT IUNNO. SHRUGS
I’M OMITTING PART OF THIS BECAUSE IT’S MORE PERSONAL AND NOT DIRECTLY RELATED AND I JUST WANNA YAP. YOU CAN FIND THE “DIRECTORS CUT” ON MY WEBSITE WRITINGS OR WHYV, WHENEVER I PUT IT UP.

What do you think about marxist feminism
honestly, one of the few types of feminism i regard as real feminism. that being said, it's secondary to radical feminism, imo. they have valuable insights to the economic condition of women and how capitalism bolsters patriarchy (particularly in terms of prostitution, the family, and women's labour), but the commitment to economics and the Marxist State™ above women as a class has its repercussions, both theoretically and practically.
for example, in theory-- kollontai, often touted as Ms Marxist Feminism, said some pretty misogynistic shit. i don't recall how marxfems addressed it, but it's as follows, from The Labour of Women in the Evolution of the Economy;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this was in the era when the ussr still had abortion legalized, but of course, they banned it ten years later... and with a mindset like this, it's easy to see why. i don't believe in a feminism which sacrifices women for the greater good. i'm almost entirely anti-natalist (in the radical feminist sense, not the weird doomer philosophical sense) & thus am very much in favour of less pregnancy & motherhood for women. LESS patriarchal obligations and confinement to domestic labour, please.
i did have a marxist bro on twitter respond to this by saying "well she's not FORCING women," to which i responded with the definition of obligation on google dot com and got blocked. so, i have little faith that marxists can handle these discussions.
honestly, sometimes there's an outright refusal to criticize the ussr in any meaningful capacity-- the people who criticize it are usually soft faux-mlm libs hating on "tankies," while those who deny all criticism will unironically stride up to you like "well we need women to be bred for soldiers in our war on imperialism" so colonization of women becomes acceptable for men's Higher Goals. i think if a world cannot exist without the oppression of women it should die, and that goes for the marxist movement as well.
in the practical portion of this is how marxism has failed women, not just in the ussr banning abortion, but also calling things like amber heard's trial "bourgeois theatre," and the CONSISTENT PROBLEM marxist orgs have with SEXUAL HARASSMENT in their leader or membership and their FAILURE TO HOLD THOSE MEN ACCOUNTABLE. the marxist revolution will not happen without women, and as it is right now, i don't think marxism offers enough to women.
radical feminism was literally in response to the failures of marxism on the woman question. a politic which is unapologetically, unequivocally, for women. many radfems were marxists themselves, and consistently the marxists i see with the best feminist politics are those informed (and in favour of some aspect) of radical feminism, or just personally-politically dedicated to women.
now, for my disclaimers-- this is a realitively uninformed perspective. i'm not a marxist but being informed on marxism is a necessity for a coherent anticapitalist movement, whether it's marxist or anarchist in nature. marxist feminism predated radical feminism which would explain some of these more outdated ideas of motherhood as a social obligation posited as feminism. i've heard kollontai has very good work, i just have not read it lol. and most importantly, i know all marxists are not stupid. if you all were stupid, i wouldn't give any credit to marxist feminism. i just focused on my greivances as those are what i think about marxist feminism... the radfem-marxfem rivalry continues. but at least it's real feminism, most of the time.

(While sending this ask I've accidentally found out what cool wallpapers (literally) you have on your desktop blog theme.)
Well, good day, my dearest horror podcast Virgil,
I, surprisingly to myself, actually finished "I am in Eskew" and enjoyed it quite a bit (which, I guess, could have been deduced by how much I spammed in the tag) even more surprisingly, considering I'm absolutely not a horror person - I substitute horror movies with their wikipedia retellings. Unironically.
Anyway, firstly, thank you! I definitely would have never discovered it without your recommendations!
Secondly, maybe you have something else like that stashed up your sleeve? I definitely need some time to recuperate, but I would like to explore more cool podcasts. (The only two limitations: short-ish - not much longer than this one, the view of a hundred+ episodes scares me; not gorier than this one/no actual jump scares - again, I'm a scardicat.) I remember you talking about "Mabel Podcast" and at the first glance it seems neat, but I'd like to hear your comments on it first.
Thanks in advance. :)
(thank you! its a william morris thing i edited a little lol) glad you liked eskew! its been fun seeing your thoughts on it popping up in the tag, not spammy at all.
i do want to mention that the creator of eskew also has another podcast called The Silt Verses, personally i havent listened to it for weird brain reasons so not sure how well it fits your criteria but ive heard its also very good
mabel podcast is another favorite! the creators of mabel and the creator of i am in eskew were both inspired by shirley jackson's the haunting of hill house to an extent iirc, so even though the stories are very different some elements of them have a similar 'feel' to them imo. i will say that mabel is very different stylistically though (especially the earlier episodes) which in my experience people seem to either love or hate. whereas in eskew you get a pretty continuous narration from david or riyo, in mabel youre mostly listening in on a series of somewhat disjointed voicemail messages. id definitely recommend at least giving the first few episodes a go, dont get discouraged if you dont feel like you dont understand whats happening right away. all you really need to know about the story going in is that youre following Anna, whos a live-in carer for an old woman named Sally. Anna is trying to contact Sallys next of kin (the titular Mabel), but shes strangely out of reach.
ok i know you said youre not a huge horror person but if you ever are feeling a little more daring id suggest trying out The White Vault. theres a small amount of gore (descriptions of finding hearts and teeth) and some uh. wet ripping sounds in it but its really not that bad all things considered, just know that it is straight horror though. its a found footage podcast that follows a group of people whove been hired to check out a remote outpost in northern norway thats gone dead, but a storm leaves them stranded there, and as time goes on it becomes clear that they arent exactly alone. this ones a little longer i think, but tbh ive only listened to the first two seasons, it felt like a natural place for the story to end to me
and then on the complete opposite side of the spooky podcast spectrum, if you want something thats a ghost story but really not horror at all imo, i just finished listening to Midnight Radio a few weeks back. this ones *really* short, like 10 episodes that are ~20 minutes each short, so its definitely lower commitment. in this one youre listening in on a radio show hosted by Sibyl, who died decades earlier but can still be heard waxing poetic about her hometown in the dead of night.
ok LAST ONE havent finished it so wasnt sure if i should rec it but a lot of people on my dash hype up Archive 81 so i thought id mention it at least. guy is hired to listen through a bunch of creepy tapes in some archive out in the middle of no where. classic horror podcast stuff. similar to eskew in that it pivots from mostly being mostly anthology into an overarching plot as you go on

How do you tell people that being trans isn't a choice you made all at once, even if it looks that way from the outside, it's a culmination of hundreds of tiny realizations over the course of a lifetime?
It's being eight years old and convincing your friends to call you Sam until their dad catches wind of it and makes them stop. You don't know why it's such a big deal. You just think the name Sam is cool.
It's being eleven and seeing a picture of a woman with a pixie cut and realizing for the first time that women can have short hair. You ask your mom if you can get yours cut like that and she says that you might want to wait a while to make sure you actually want it that short. You go progressively shorter and shorter every haircut. You have a pixie cut by the time you're thirteen.
It's being twelve and hearing your name out of your teachers mouth makes your skin crawl and something in your stomach do a slimy flipping thing and you're not sure why. You don't ever mention it, but it never goes away.
It's being thirteen and wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts and the old man at the tiny whole foods store goes on and on about how much you look like his grandson. You don't know why this makes you so happy, but your mom seems to think it's funny, so it must not be too awful a thing to happen.
It's being fourteen and suddenly you have boobs and you've gone up two pant sizes, seemingly overnight, and you stand in your room trying to physically push your hips back in because this is *wrong.* You start wearing jackets all the time and you don't know why. Later, you get out of the shower and pull a towel tight across your chest and catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and suddenly the boobs are gone and you look like yourself again. You make plans to make a company when you're older that sells boob squishers because surely everyone else feels this way and you can't believe they haven't been invented yet. Congrats on reinventing binders.
It's being fifteen and becoming obsessed with personality tests and you find one once that's called "what gender is your brain" and feeling vindicated when it says you have a male brain. You take twenty others just to be sure.
At this point, you've never heard the word transgender. You know that people who transition from one gender to another exist, but you've never seen or talked to one. You just think you're kinda weird.
At sixteen your best friend starts making attack helicopter jokes. He doesn't really know what it's about, he just found it online somewhere and thought it was funny. You unironically laugh along because you don't get it either. Identifying as something else is a cool concept, though, as silly as the jokes seem.
At seventeen you hear about trans people properly for the first time. You hear about their relationship to their own gender and the struggles they go through to live as themselves. You're impressed and intrigued, you find these people admirable for their strength, but you're not one of them. You would've known, right?
At eighteen you read a story from the point of view of a trans person, written by a trans person who is pulling from their own experiences. You find yourself reflected in the main character, parallels with things from your childhood that you had always thought were just you being a little weird. The story describes dysphoria and you recognize it as the squirmy, crawling feeling you get sometimes when your clothes fit just a little too well or a stranger calls you young lady.
You didn't tell anyone about any of this, it was all just you being a little weird, so there was nothing to tell. From the outside, it looks like you heard the word trans and suddenly decided that that's what you are. You tell your parents and they say "how do you know?" and "that can't be right, there would've been signs." The problem is that there *were* signs, it's just that neither of you knew how to read them. There was a whole collection of moments that you remember where you would've said "I think I'm trans" if you'd had the vocabulary. There are probably hundreds more that you don't remember, little things that don't mean much individually, but all together paint a pretty clear picture.

. . . dependent original character for nightrestrp : ZHOU MEI \
more links : pinterest. connections. playlist.
[ esther yu, cis woman, she/her ] - was that ZHOU MEI i saw by the lighthouse today? i heard that the TWENTY-EIGHT year old who has been in nightrest for TWENTY-TWO YEARS and works as a/an OWNER & ATTENDENT OF TURBO has a reputation of being CHEERFUL, but also DITZY they reside in FOG GATE & people in town usually associate them with at MISMATCHED SHOES, THE SCENT OF DAWN LAUNDRY DETERGENT, COLORFUL CLOTHING, A BRIGHT SMILE, AND AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER WITH A FEW DENTS. let’s hope the killer doesn’t go after them next.
BASIC INFORMATION:
FULL NAME: Zhou Mei
NICKNAMES: Mei (pronounced May)
DATE OF BIRTH: July 30th, 1994 (28)
ETHNICITY: Chinese
FACE CLAIM: Esther Yu
HAIR & EYE COLOR: Dark Brown & Varying Hair Colors
HEIGHT: 5’5”
TATTOOS & PIERCINGS: Multiple tattoos and piercings
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual
OCCUPATION: Owner & Attendant of Turbo
LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English, Mandarin
BACKGROUND:
Born in Guangzhou, China to a middle-class family, Mei only spent the first six years of her life in her home country before her family immigrated to the US, settling in the small town of Nightrest and her parents opening up the local laundromat in town. Coming here at a young age, Mei grew up largely westernized, but spoke Mandarin at home with her parents for the majority of her life, often the one to translate for them from a young age. Other than the occasional childlike annoyance she has towards her traditional parents, Mei feels like she grew up in a loving family. Her mother wasn’t entirely pleased to see her daughter didn’t grow up to become something more, but both of her parents still loved her unconditionally.
She attended the local high school in town, but was seen as a little weird by her peers, and was bullied in high school due to her never following the norm or fitting in. Mei was viewed as eccentric, always showing up to school in some kind of costume or flashy handmade outfit that she’d put together herself. She’d never been the kind of girl to think too much of what people thought about her, but up until she grew older, she was a bit shy at times despite her bold appearance. Fashion was big interest of hers, dreaming of becoming a fashion designer since she was young and cherishing the small sewing machine her father had gotten her as a kid.
When she went off to Salem State University for college, there wasn’t any fashion programs, and her parents didn’t have the money to send her to any technical schools further away. So she majored in Peace and Conflict Studies because she figured it would get her out of her shell more and understand people better, though besides being a good conversation maker, Mei never used her degree for any monetary purposes.
Never having left Nightrest as she went to school a short drive away, Mei spent a lot of free time at her parent’s laundromat, working there as the sole attendant before her parents eventually gave the business to her. There wasn’t exactly that much to do besides count the money made at the end of the week, but having worked there since she was in her teens, Mei felt comfortable at Turbo, spending more time there than in her own home. After she became owner, she set up a sewing station in the back, using her free time to learn how to make clothes. Over time, she developed a habit of working on any clothes people would leave behind on accident, racks of upcycled clothes filling the storage room.
HEADCANONS
Unironically says the word pookie. Will call pretty much anyone in it very endearingly but finds it a little funny to use it as a nickname for the scarier people in town. Mei likes to address people with a bright smile, so she hopes no one takes it personally
Has a very impulsive nature. Tends to say and do the wrong thing pretty often and finds serious emotions uncomfortable.
Super cheerful and happy all the time!! With all the death happening around town, it feels a little harder to stay upbeat, but Mei tries her best to be there for her, and even tries to resolve fights with her four years of educational experience
Is in love with the girly/fairy aesthetic. Still continues to wear outfits that get her side eyes from other people in town, and is often wearing her favorite color pink.
Also enjoys baking, mostly because she can’t bake. Mei has recently been getting into making savory baked goods, but learning new things has always been a little hard so her first attempts have all been inedible
A bit of a puppy dog in nature. Often trails behind her friends and gets distracted easily. If something is shiny she pretty much has to stop and look, getting excited over anything fun and new. Mei also cannot plan things to save her life, always finding herself sidetracked.
Owns a car and an Vespa but she often prefers to ride her scooter around in Nightrest since the town is fairly small. It's light pink and has been dented from the number of times she's accidentally dropped it.
Has a grandmaster red belt in mixed martial arts. Her parents signed her up for classes when they moved to America, and it just happened to stick. For most of her youth, she took classes at a rundown down dojo in Salem, but continues to practice every now and then, offering free weekend classes at Trident Fitness.
Has made her fair share of mistakes in her life, especially when she was in high school. Friends with Sawyer and Grey, the three of them dared one of their friends to jump off one of the beach's cliffs, leading to their death. It’s something Mei thinks about from time to time, regretful that she’d encouraged it and thought it was no big deal.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
best friends/ride or die
exes (m/f/nb)
flings/hookups
people for her to annoy <3
bad/good influences on her
idk anything everything pls

That thing about adults watching toddlers cartoons you reblogged... I think it truly is a reflection of some people literally reggresing in some ways, and i don't blame the ones who just want an escape from their shitty lives. I feel some people simply are finding it difficult to accept the reality of adulthood and all the realizations that come with it. The lost of innocence and all, finding out the world is more harsh and cruel that expected... I don't know, i can understand in a way because sometimes ill watch cartoons from my childhood or play videogames from that time too... It's the nostalgia from better times. I think it happens to us that had more sheltered childhoods.... However, i do think its weird to seek out new cartoons from toddlers and somehow enjoy it. I don't get it. Perhaps cartoons fr older kids are really bad nowadays, i wouldnt know.
I do think its more understandable for people interested in animation since most western cartoons are geared towards kids, and adult cartoons are ugly as balls lets be honest. And they can be cringy as hell: once i was walking by my brother watching that Bojack horseman or whatever cartoon, and there was this character talking about asexuality and how you could be asexual and have romantic relationships and sex. Like, the cringe... Id rather watch bluey or stephan university lmao
Yeah I hate how Western animation has become.....so ugly. I mean the Power Puff Girls or Totally Spies had some edge but when I see today's animation it looks so ugly and disgusting (Family Guy, Big Mouth has to be the filthiest adult animated show I ever laid my eyes upon). And I also hate how adult shows have to be so unecessary sexual. It's like because, since they're for an adult audience, they now could tackle those topics, they had to shoe horn these unecessary awkward and disgusting storylines.... (and thinking you can be asexual while having sex is stupid yeah lol)
I think you are absolutely right about how watching these "comfort shows" can help coping with the hardship of reality, but look at the result : people are getting more and more (intellectually and emotionally) retarded. It's not normal for a 25+ adult of being invested in anime or manga where the characters are half of their own age....
Look how anime has groomed entire generations of men thinking that women enjoyed sexual harassment and rape, and that they didn't have real hobbies (beside looking out for male approval). I'll never be over how horrendously written 99% of female characters in manga are (the 1% left are written by female mangaka). There's no wonder men who grew up with that trash have a totally wrapped image of women, struggle respecting their boundaries (there's no wonder japanese men are known creep - especially with foreigners), how a REAL ADULT HUMAN FEMALE body look like (just the other day there was a kid on Twitter calling "disgusting" a woman who had.....body hair on her arm. His argument? "but IN PORN women don't look like that!!!".....😐).
I think those shows are ruining the way people are adulting. Western civilization look down on cultures that upkept a "ritual of passage" into adulthood, arguing it's unecessary and kinda hard on kids to have such a sharp leap into adulthood, but I think those cultures actually have a point. At some point adults need to cut out with regressive coping mechanism for their own well-being.
Again : grown adult watching debilitating shows is not normal. It makes them emotionally retarded and dumb. Just because something helps you to cope with shit doesn't mean it's harmless or good for you in the long run.
A grown 27 y.o woman unironically posting about her "comfort character" and that characters is somehow half her age is NOT normal. Grown men in the 30s watching anime and getting excited about the next One Piece chapter release like there's no tomorrow is NOT normal. Grown men watching anime altogether is a red flag anyway (and let's not talk about those gathering toys/collectibles which is HIGHLY symbolic psychologically-wise - babies/children are those needing toys, not adults...)

I think one of the things about Video Game Discourse that just... Exasperates me the most is the constant confusion between Canonical Narrative and Gameplay Function.
I’ll use Far Cry 5 for an example.
I consider Canonical Narrative, in a video game, to include anything
Absolutely required to complete a mission, whether that mission is necessary to finish the game or not (Ex., it is canonical that Deputy Rook drove the Ryes to the doctor so Kim could have her baby. it is canonical that you drive the Ryes’ truck, not Mary May’s. You don’t have to play this mission in the game, but the fact that you are capable of doing so at any point make it part of canon.)
Present in a cutscene (Ex., it is canonical that Whitehorse, Burke, and Deputy Rook walked into the church at the beginning of the game; it is not canon that Deputy Hudson went in with them, because she stays outside for the duration of the scene.)
Far Cry’s a bit tricky just because they have alternate endings (secret ending, walk away ending, nuclear ending) and determining which one is the “real” ending becomes sticky when you consider Far Cry New Dawn (which follows the nuclear ending) and Far Cry 6 (which seems to follow the Walk Away or even possibly the Secret Ending).
I would argue that each ending is technically canon; the creators just created alternate timelines for each ending.
-
But then you have Gameplay Function. Sometimes it overlaps with narrative, but other times it just stands on its own.
A place in Far Cry 5 where Gameplay and Narrative overlap is in the scene in the Fall’s End Church, where you have to take the bible. If you refuse to hit the button, John will instruct his henchman to pistol-whip Jerome. Refuse again and it repeats, this time with Mary May begging you to say yes. Refuse a third time and the resulting pistol-whip will cause Jerome to drop the bible, revealing the gun tucked inside; here, the scene unfolds as it would have if you said yes from the start.
Is it canon? I wouldn’t give it a hard ‘yes’, as failing to say yes three times does not (to my knowledge) change anything about the narrative later on.
This is where story and gameplay blend together: There are alternate ways the scene can unfold if you refuse, and this can be tempting once you know about the secret ending at the beginning; sometimes Far Cry rewards you with Easter Eggs or trophies when you do the opposite of what’s expected, but not always.
As for an example of pure Gameplay Function: It is canonical that Deputy Rook is capable of finding a flamethrower and a weird alien space gun. It is not canonical that Deputy Rook used them, as they are not required to complete any missions.
In games like Far Cry, crazy weapons are not a function of the plot so much as they are an added feature to make the game fun. This is the same with so-called “Fetch Missions”: In real life, people would not be standing around waiting to tell you where an outpost is so you can go raid it solo; this is a function of the game to offer you missions (and in this particular game, as you are capable of finding these things on your own, you don’t strictly need the NPCs to tell you anyway, although it saves time).
-
What bugs me is that although I see plenty of people joking about these things good-naturedly, there are people in fandom who make judgments about character development and storytelling based on gameplay functions.
Like for instance- I can’t exactly recall if this was about Far Cry or a different game- I do recall someone unironically, as in not humorously arguing, “How come everyone in this game relies on you to fix their problems for them? Why am I being asked to do X when there’s an evil villain running around?"
Because it’s a video game.
Those side-missions are a function of gameplay. They are there to give you fun things to do. They are not meant to be an accurate reflection of what someone would be realistically doing during a hostile cult takeover.
Additionally (and this I do remember being a Far Cry related discussion some years back) there were people arguing that the Far Cry protagonists were psychopaths because they were running around killing people with trucks and flamethrowers and whatnot. Except (although it’s been a while since I’ve played 3, 4, and Primal) there are no missions in Far Cry 5 that require you to murder enemies with flamethrowers, or trucks.
There might be trophies attached to it, it might be convenient depending on what the mission is, but there aren’t any missions that I can think of that require you to use these weapons to just mindlessly kill people. You have a choice; it is not, as I said above, absolutely required to finish a mission.
If that’s how you choose to kill enemies, cool; but calling it the canonical actions of the main character, whose characterization is then affected by the notion that they’re just running around setting people on fire, isn’t accurate or fair.
tl;dr Your choices in gameplay do not reflect how everyone plays, before you go screaming that a character is “evil” or “psychopathic” maybe ask yourself whether it’s actually canon or not.

do you hate it? weird joke to make
Mmm...ramblings ahead.
I don't "hate" it per se. I don't want it bleached off ao3 or anything. If people want to read it then whatever I guess, there's a whole novel about a Canadian woman who fucks a bear so it's not like there isn't precedent. I was on tumblr when it became a thing, I e-dated someone who was on the first wave of omegaverse fanfiction after the initial Supernatural kinkmeme post. Quite literally there when the deep magic was written. I saw it all happen and kick off, I thought it was a hoot at the time.
What annoys me about it is that it's invaded fandom in general. As usual fandom will say one thing "don't push sexual content on people without their consent" and then do another, which is putting omegaverse shit on your dash without asking. Tumblr Savior doesn't work on mobile either so there's no filtering it. It reminds me of how choking has become a pervasive porn thing that has invaded real life, if you don't want to be choked during sex then you get a lot of shitty attitude, and if you don't want to see omega garbage on your dash then you can also get shitty attitude. I was in a persona 5 server where a moderator put a user in a timeout chair for posting it outside the designated channel (there was a special channel for triggering sex stuff) and it resulted in an internet brawl. (Whatever you can imagine insert it here, the details aren't important. Everyone felt oppressed and was arguing over who was more oppressed.) It was very tedious to sit through and it all stemmed from the fact that people just push this stuff on you and get mad when you say "I don't want to see this."
I actually didn't used to have a firm opinion on this stuff UNTIL it started invading fandom spaces. I was once called "queerphobic and a bad feminist ally" for pointing out that omegaverse stuff was very disturbing for many people and should come with tags and warnings attached. They shut up fast when I replied I was bisexual but yeah.... I think it radicalized me in a way lmao. It's an attitude that's been there since the beginning, there have been entire essays written about how getting railed by a dog dick is the most feminist and gender affirming shit ever. But there are internet users who genuinely believe they are fighting for gay rights by writing/reading omegaverse and that's blatantly not the case. It feels like stolen valor, there's real gay oppression happening in the world and then there's first worlders who think it's "queerphobic" to not eroticize anal leakage and dog dicks? Come on. So that's something I dislike intensely these days. 10 years ago when it first popped off I just wrote it off as something I could ignore. And then fandom made it something that is impossible to ignore.
And for the record, yes, I do know most enthusiasts aren't like this. My own partner is into it and we just don't bring it up, been together for almost 4 years now, etc.
What I don't like (not even hate, just dislike) is how pervasive it is and it's just assumed that everyone loves it and that it's okay to push it everywhere into everything. I catalog books for a living and there are romance novels now where omegaverse is the theme and I'm like "jesus christ" lmao, content where the Assigned Bottom at Birth defecates to show his affection for the Assigned Top at Birth is now mainstream, I have to see it irl too. There's no escaping it. That upset me a lot unironically, I found it incredibly threatening that dog dicks is what's associated with "queer activism" in the real world. The authors that write this stuff are often the kind of people who are convinced they're tragic heroes fighting the good fight, it's awful.
Though interestingly when I mentioned it to friends who read it, they unanimously agreed that they wished it hadn't made the jump to irl. The lawsuit thing seems to have really embarrassed everybody. There's a big divide between the authors who have mainstreamed it and users who read it where not-pushy users desperately don't want a spotlight but the self pub authors are convinced that they are activists. It's interesting, I could probably write a whole essay examining the divide.
Overall I wish I could go back to when it was easy to ignore and super missable but that isn't the world we live in anymore, so if people are going to push this content everywhere I'm going to make some jokes at the expense of them. I think everyone can live with that.

Howl‘s Moving Castle the Book is even better than Howl‘s Moving Castle the Anime. I have been enchanted. It’s wise and magical and witty and I fully believe in it as a true story. (I don’t mind if I get branded mad, I think those who understand what I’m on about are the ones who truly matter!) The book has been written with blood from my wrung out heart I feel. It’s like it’s been a part of me even before I read it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has all the good stuff I liked in the anime and none of the unironic kitschiness. It forms a Holy trinity with Harry Potter and Krabat. And maybe Alice in Wonderland too. OH AND FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD!!! But I think Howl’s my favourite 😭😭 I want to become a great wizard more than anything. And I will! (Mental Asylum calling, I know I know, but do I care….? I want to be a weird uncle like Howl…) (yes, I know that the Psychologists call this schizotypy, I do see that to the average prosaic surface level mind I present just a girl prone to insanity. But you do realise that science is just inventing names and vague descriptions of empirical evidence? Whilst magic is the transgression of the Laws of Nature, breaking free from the physical form and human nature? Magic is the deconstruction of everything that has been witnessed by science. Wizardry, the transgression of organic matter, is the only freedom there is. Scientific work, with all it’s microscopes, engines, spacecrafts, power lines and explosives, is like vermins constructing their burrows. (Most people don’t think that a vermin has free will. But miraculously they do think that an enlightened homo sapiens sapiens lab scientist does. They are dumbly proud that they are a bunch of dull, unfree vermins IN OUTER SPACE. How great, this is so shameful ) It might be considered beautiful and kind of cute and it might come in handy for the species doing it. But it is not magical. It is caged in itself. It is slaves of the flesh admiring their own chains as a wondrous, mystical exhibit. Meticulously describing the way they drag across the paved-to-death-street. Giving names to the metal components it’s made of in Latin. And religion is the same. All about the flesh. Science and religion are both so far from magic - truth and freedom that is. The being of everything possible that is. Creation just for the beauty, just for the mind that is. Borderless, shapeless One-ness. Pure intellect, none of the flesh. I really wonder how science has ever been associated with coldness, intellect and magic when it is so obviously about the flesh, about carnality…when they build explosives and drive cars, develop medical equipment and artificial fabrics to satisfying their lust for revenge, their disdain and desire for the flesh, penetrating only their greed and human emotional-bodily needs, when they employ science to kill their enemies in the masses and save their dirty pathetic worthless human vermin lives. I think a life is not worth a dime. And a dime is not worth anything. Worth is not a category to think in! Political power is carnal and lowly. Emotions are the primitive rage of the flesh. And science serves it’s primitive madness, it serves the fear for life and the hate of the enemy equally. It serves primitive violence and hunger for power and want for domination. A vain, power-hungry and cruelly arrogant seeking of knowledge on matter. Seeking to answer the question: How can we kill this [thing]? And when will [thing] kill us?
Oh oh oh I’d rather be eaten by lions than be hit by a car, I’d rather be eaten by the lions. The arrogance of the human species ashames me, because oh there is only ever arrogance paired with violently primitive ignorance. Fear of death makes us despicable )
The most magical thing there is is death. Death is the most magical and beautiful thing there is. Dying, and being pleased to die: this is the most significant act of wizardry. The hour of my death will mark the threshold of my journey to wizardry, freedom!
I think I shall be one of the few who truly grow to love death. I shall know and befriend death, the withering and the tides, the winds and the dunes, the shooting stars and the continental plates

long rambling discourse post on tumblr? it's more likely than you think
Also on the state of discourse, I've been through countless threads on the web to the point that I've grown jaded of a lot of lingo that is ultimately used not to actually discuss things but to act like some form of thought-terminating cliche.
Unfair perhaps but well, I've seen a lot. Too much probably.
That being said, allonormativity and amatonormativity are concepts that apply to my own upbringing. And I would definitely say that those two have affected me a lot more than heteronormativity ever has. I would go further to say my issue with the privilege discourse in the 2010s was really rife with allo and... amato(?) assumptions about people in general. Like those male privilege list that often had "not being shamed for having sex" as a "privilege" of being male which pretty much assumed side male would be interested in sex to begin with which... lead to a lot of problems for myself.
Actually, I'm going to go on a tangent and say that I'm glad that privilege lists seemed to have died out because boy howdy were they unironically problematic and probably did far more damage than anybody cares to admit. The concept of normativity is a lot better at explaining this sort of stuff since unlike the privilege discourse, does not assume that just because something is normative doesn't mean it's an actual benefit to the group that it's supposedly normative to.
And maybe perhaps that's the bigger issue I had with a lot of discourse in the past, a lot of it is framed as overly judgmental. I wonder if it's better to call toxic masculinity as masculinormative or something.
What I mean by this is like with amatonormativity, wanting to be in a romantic relationship isn't bad but putting your entire worth whether or not you have a SO can be. There are aspects of masculinity and femininity that aren't bad on their own but can be when they go out of control.
This can get really out of control when you realize we don't live in a vacuum so there's like a bazillion factors when taking into account this stuff so... argh.
And another thing that I've always suspected, but has made been more painfully obvious in Current Year is that a disturbing number of people use these terms not as discussion point but as an excuse just to shit on others. Yes, I'm including jokes about hetero people. It's like, I dunno, it feels so... I dunno. Empty I guess? Or maybe once you see the same joke again and again it just gets kind of... boring. Sure there's no such thing as originality but people aren't even putting their own spin on things. It feels like they're just being... bots.
Speaking of bots, it's very Current Year that both actual bots and human beings kinda spit out discourse for the sake of the Algorithm Deity.
So what the hell am I even trying to say here? I think that me being away from the Discourse has allowed me to see some things in a new light and I think some terms and lingo do have a purpose and is more than just trying to game the algorithm as I previous thought. With that being said though, with how the Algorithm Diety has more or less become an eldritch abomination that creators have to depend on unless they luck out in some shape or form it does make me think twice about using such terminology.
Although I think people who do use such terms aren't using it out of malice. Maybe they just don't know any better. I dunno. What the hell is this post anyway.
...Actually I know exactly what started this post, and it's pretty much because a very personal thing. It's because of I was thinking about parasocial stuff, right? Yeah. Like, people piss on parasocial as if it's a bad thing, but when in reality it's not. it can grow out of control yeah, but it can also be a benefit as long as both streamers and audience a like put a certain barrier they know they can't cross.
Yes it's about a certain kirin and what she said in a certain stream. But it's weird seeing some take it as a slam dunk on parasocials when more than anything she was looking out for her audience. I guess that's the frustrating part about being a fan of vtubers or streamers or... anything else really.
I guess you can't really deal with people who are looking for any reason to fight. Sometimes you really do have to ignore them in the end to "win." Even if pretty much any choice you do will lead with them thinking they have won, one decision can leave you with some peace of mind.

Hey Stephen - Steve Harrington
Request: Hi, can I please have a ride based on Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift with Steve Harrington where the reader is Dustin's sister and Dustin's watching his sister crush on his best friend like "this is disgusting, but adorable"? @thecaptaingingersnap
A/N: Sorry this took so long...I was kinda sick last week and struggled to get on.
Stranger Things Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
Your infatuation started long before your little brother somehow managed to become friends with one of Hawkin’s High school’s most popular students. It was probably around the time you sprained your ankle during gym class and Steve Harrington volunteered to take you to the nurse’s office so you could get iced up and call your mom.
There in the nurse’s office, as he held a pack of ice to your ankle, you were positive, was exactly when the crush began. It lasted through girlfriends that he had, the few times that Carol and Tommy had set their sights on you during a class and Steve had rushed an apology as the bell rung and he followed them out, and now, his friendship with your brother. You weren’t even really sure how Steve had become friends with Dustin, or why for that matter, but you couldn’t help being a little thankful. Sure, most of the time when you knew he would be stopping by you were doing your best not to embarrass yourself but at least you got to see him right? Got to really actually talk to him.
“You’re such a creep, you know that?” Dustin teased, standing in the kitchen doorway as he ate the pizza lunchable he had just constructed and watched you try to look natural as you glanced out the window for any sign of Steve’s car.
“I’m not a creep Dustin.” You insisted, “I’m waiting for our ride, like people do.”
“Yeah, except normal people don’t stand at the window like they’re an axe murderer waiting for a victim.” He replied. He was all dressed up for the winter dance that you had somehow been roped into chaperoning. You knew Nancy would be there and, while you weren’t always the best of friends, she was nice and you could at least talk to her. Steve would be there, apparently, and he’d offered to drive you and Dustin there too.
A dance for middle schoolers shouldn’t make you this anxious but you couldn’t help it. You felt like you were going to burst from excitement and nerves all at the same time.
“I don’t wanna be late!” You snapped, turning to glare at him. You’d been ready for the last two hours, picking at your hair and dress, trying on three different pairs of shoes, reapplying mascara and lipstick, practically shaking. You wanted to look good, but for what? So Steve might, maybe, notice you? And not just as Dustin’s sister or that girl who couldn’t manage to run the mile in seventh grade but as an actual person who he maybe could like.
“Okay, okay, take a chill pill, god. You’re negative attitude is gonna deflate my hair.”
“I’ll deflate your hair if you don’t stop bothering me Dustin!”
With your back turned to the window, headlights turned into your driveway and a horn echoed in the car port. Dustin smiled, mouthing a “showtime” as he tossed his trash in the bin and headed for the front door. You followed, grabbing your purse and trying to catch one last glimpse of your appearance in the mirror.
“You look fine.” Dustin promised, grabbing your arm and dragging you out the front door. He didn’t wanna be late, especially not because of you and your weird Steve Harrington hang up. Will told him it was the same as him liking Max or Stacey but Dustin was unwilling to believe that explanation. It was just weird, his sister having a crush on his friend.
“Hey Hendersons, ready to party?” Steve joked, leaning over the middle console to pop the passenger side door for you. Dustin climbed in the back seat and smiled, his reflection catching in the rearview mirror.
“I was born ready.” He replied, enthusiastically. “She was born with one leg up in the air.”
“It was the Olympics that year,” you shrugged, smacking your brother when he leaned between the seats, “I was getting a head start on gymnastics.”
Steve laughed as if that was the funniest thing anyone had ever told him, “that’s great.”
“So, are you excited about going to your sixth grade winter formal all over again?” You asked, twisting a little in your seat to focus on Steve as he drove.
In the backseat, Dustin rolled his eyes.
“I was gonna wear the same tux but, ya know, I got taller.” He joked.
“I thought your hair just got higher.” Dustin teased and you couldn’t help laughing.
“Ha ha you’re so funny.” Steve replied, “hey, smack your brother for me?”
You obliged, leaning over the seat to hit him. As you leaned passed the center console, you held the edge of Steve’s seat for stability, your arm brushing against his and your hair falling into his line of vision for a moment, curly strands tickling his cheek. He turned his head when the car stopped for a red light, watching you as you laughed at Dustin and pulled yourself away from him, falling back into your seat.
Tommy and Carol always said you had a hopeless crush on Steve but he was always a little too preoccupied by the girls who were more vocal about their feelings. He remembered when Nancy first started flirting with him at a party. He’d felt a little “on top of the world” every time someone paid attention to him. Steve honestly couldn’t remember a time when you were throwing yourself at him though. You were always friendly, and he’d seen more of you this year as he found himself hanging out with Dustin in an unironic way, but he’d never really thought of you liking him. Even when Tommy and Carol first said it, he just brushed it off.
“So, Henderson, you excited?” He asked, trying to get back some of that junior year cool he’d had.
You raised an eyebrow at him and pointed to yourself, clarifying that it was you that he was talking to. When he nodded, you shrugged, “I guess.” You smiled at him as the light turned green, “I got a hot date after all.”
“What?”
“She promised Will she’d dance with him at least once.” Dustin replied. Out of all his friends, Will was your favorite. Much nicer than Lucas and Mike, not so self-centered.
“Oh man, I can’t compete with that.” Steve laughed, “save me a dance though, will you?”
“I’ll try to pencil you in.” You replied, even as you felt your face get hot, flushed with the suggestion that the two of you might actually share a dance. You definitely shouldn’t be this excited about a dance for sixth graders.
Dustin made an exaggerated gagging noise from the backseat, “disgusting, you guys are disgusting.” He stated, trying to keep the smile at bay. Disgusting maybe, but kind of adorable, though he definitely wouldn’t tell you that.

RTGame Miitopia AU: RTGod AU pt. 3
[This is part of an AU I made of RTGame's Miitopia! It's called the RTGod AU. Please view the first post of the series to get some context. TY!]
https://crowningofgold.tumblr.com/post/667299404668190720/rtgames-miitopia-fanart-headcanons-if-youre
So yeah, I'm gonna make this an AU thing. I'm just gonna quickly dish out my ideas for the characters. Comics and stuff abt this AU will come soon though!
Tumblr media
[god I'm so bad at drawing Goofy shddncjdjsmsms]
A 'beastling'. Basically what they call furries in Miitopia.
Berries and Cream
Was once a trusted friend of Mickey Mouse, the ruler of Disneyland.
One day, however, something weird happened, like a force took over his body. It controlled him, words he never meant to say, things he never meant to do. The worst part was that it did a terrible impression of him!
It eventually was able to take full force of him, making confess that he was planning to usurp Mickey's throne. He was soon banished from Disneyland after that.
He eventually became a thief, stealing from people just to get by. He immensely regrets it though.
After hearing about a noble gang of heroes wandering Miitopia, he immediately begged to join them, hoping this could redeem him.
IWD heard Goofy's story and immediately knew he was another creation of the nefarious RTGod. He didn't hesitate letting him join.
Misses his son Max, who he hasn't seen since he was banished.
Very fatherlike towards the team. Probably to make up for his lost time with his own son.
Actually really likes anime. He says baka unironically because he doesn't see the cringe in it.
Changes his hair every week.
Forces the entire team to watch VHS tapes of his favorite animes. Magical John likes it and Chat tries to act like they don't.
Tumblr media
Also a beastling like Goofy. She acts a bit catlike though.
She's around 50 years old. People are always shocked to find out her real age, but you can't exactly apply how humans age on animals.
Very bubbly and sweet, but a total girlboss. Her malewife is IWD.
IWD initially disliked Cupcake, as he wasn't used to positivity. He slowly grew on her and eventually they got engaged :)
70's mom vibes
Is the mom friend of the team. IWD's more of the supportive dad.
She tells tales of how she was trained under an excellent yet psychotic trainer, who ordered her to murder hundreds of sheep and then defeat god. Everyone thinks she's just becoming senile.
Very loving towards IWD, even if he tries to act like he doesn't like it.
Actually a really bad cook. Like broke college student levels of bad. The only thing she knows how to properly make is protein shakes.
Probably does aerobics on the weekends.
